Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?) Flavors? Light roast? Dark Roast? I gave quite a bit of detail on this in my survey. Generally speaking, I'm a the darker and stronger the better gal. In terms of flavors, I like chocolaty or boozy. I don't really know what notes I like - all of them?

Things from Mexico? Add me to the vanilla bandwagon - it has gotten SO expensive here. Also happy to get spices, silver jewelry.

What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours? Patterns? I lean toward black, gray and jewel tones - I definitely like reds and dark purples and a little dark pink. In terms of patterns, subtle hearts or cupids would be cool. Otherwise, I love geeky stuff (Star Wars, MCU), celestial, kawaii.

Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors? I love jewelry - the bolder the better. I prefer silvertone or black metals with colored stones or enamel,  modern or art deco type designs or geekery. I mostly wear dangly earrings, medium length necklaces and bracelets.

Would you be interested in anything from RavenstoneOMG, those cicada earrings! I honestly love all of the black metal earrings and the rainbow cicada necklace.

Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? I do find myself using a notepad that has open weekly scheduling laid out. I don't use it every week, but when there's a lot going on, it helps me sort things out. Otherwise, not really.

Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? (I'm especially curious if you'd like a copy of American Gods, as I have a spare that needs rehoming) I have an extensive Goodreads linked at the swap help link in my sig (but I've read American Gods many many times and ran the forum group read on it, so you're probably not sending to me. ;)

What kind of tea do you like? Type (loose leaf vs bag), and also flavours? I don't like super strong teas. I love Earl Gray blends, chocolate and fruity flavors. Bags will probably get slightly more use.

Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size? I would definitely be interested in trying these in a bright color or pattern. I'd be a size E.

Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? No thank you.

What category of makeup (and what shades) are you most interested in? I'm always in the market for eyeshadow crayons in bright colors.

Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now? No thanks.

Are you interested in incense? What formats? Please do not send me incense.

Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift...  Not really.

I'm new to swaps, and honestly very new to the forum and I keep thinking of things I should have added to my questionnaire! So I thought I'd take the lead of some other folks here and create a post where I could add the answers to the new questions that are popping up and all the things I *should have* originally included!

Me in a nutshell: Ravenclaw. Saggitarius. I'm a school librarian at a K-12 school in western MA, which means I love to read and I'm a big old nerd. My partner and I have two cats and three dogs - all Australian cattledogs or mixes thereof. We also foster for an Australian cattledog rescue association.

I love all things PINK (like the color, not the artist, though she's awesome too!) Side note: I used to hate pink. For years, I hated pink with a passion. And then one day I just...didn't hate it anymore. True story.

    See more below:

    Household:

Are there any pets/kids/partners you live with who would appreciate BPALentines considerations? Please give as much detail as you can to help out your Cupid

-I have a partner named Nicole. She is a dynamo of a realtor, always on the go. Together, we have two cats and 3 dogs. Our dogs are all Australian Cattledogs and we also foster for a cattledog rescue association. We’re a bit obsessed with the breed! The doggos all enjoy snacks and toys for sure. The cats don't do much with snacks and toys as 1 cat is diabetic and the other is super geriatric.

Are you away at any period during the swap?

-Yes, we’ll be out of town from Feb 1-6

Are you okay to ship Intl (outside USA)?

    -Yes

Do you have any allergies your sender should be aware of?

     -Nope!

    Something Snacky:

What are your favorite snacks? Salty or sweet?

-I like snack food of all kinds a little too much. I’m a sucker for a good peanut butter/chocolate combo. I also adore yogurt pretzels.

    Types of snacks/flavors/textures to avoid?

    -None

    Coffee, tea, cocoa, etc?

-I am a coffee addict, especially dark roast. I have recently purchased a really good coffee grinder and a pour-over setup so my coffee snobbery can continue. As far as coffee flavors, I'm open to trying anything, but I prefer more subtle things in terms of flavored coffees - in other words I don't want a hit-you-over-the-head kind of flavoring. Bonus points if it's local to wherever you are. Triple bonus points if it furthers a good cause (like dog rescues or women in Appalachia)

As far as tea, I never really had time for it before. I drank too much coffee lol. However, I recently discovered a magnificent tea shop in my small town and that has changed the way I think about it. The shop is owned by a practicing witch and certified herbalist who grows many of her own ingredients. She can talk for hours about what it in each of the teas and what the ingredients do. It's fascinating. I've recently been having some stress-related insomnia and digestive problems, because pandemic, and she was able to recommend a tea that has really helped both issues. So in short, I'm fascinated!

Anything to specifically to AVOID? (veggie/vegan/GF/allergies/etc)

     -None

    Something Smelly:

    What are your favorite scents?

-I dig florals and also foodie scents. (For reference, my favorite BPALS right now are Water of Notre Dame and Muddy Armadillo, which smells like dirt and chocolate). I also love amber and jasmine. I started a wishlist here that I will try to keep updating. I currently find myself searching for scents that are very evocative of lonely, windswept or stormy landscapes. Maybe it's a seasonal thing?

    What scents should be avoided?

-I tend to avoid the musky, incense-y types. I’m not a patchouli girl, either.

What sorts of scented products would be welcome?? What should be avoided?? (i.e. BPAL only vs. OCYL; soaps vs gels vs scrubs; lotions; candles vs wax tarts vs incense ... it ALL goes HERE)

-I’m open to trying just about anything, however our house only has a shower, no bathtub. I wish I could enjoy bubbles and bath bombs, but alas I can’t.

    Something Snuggly:

Favorite sock brands or patterns? (please include sizing/height/etc)

-I tend toward the girly side of things and my favorite color is pink, but I also dig rainbows. I’m pretty tall at 5’9” so a medium to large size usually works. I have a thing for striped knee socks, but really anything nerdy and cute works too.

Any things to avoid? (scratchy wool, artificial fibers, tight knee highs?):

    -Wool makes me itchy, sadly.

What other sorts of things (besides socks) do you think of as "snuggly" which you'd be interested in receiving?

-Beanies or stocking caps, gloves or fingerless mitts. I have crazy, ridiculously curly hair, so I'm interested in trying out a satin-lined beanie at some point.

    Something "Stationery":

    Favorite book genres/authors:

-I’m a school librarian, so I’m a giant book nerd. I read a ton of young adult books. I tend toward fantasy in both the YA and adult categories. Some of my favorite books of all time are The Night Circus, The Starless Sea (I actually re-discovered BPAL through the author’s note in TSS. I think BPAL should do a collaboration with Erin Morgenstern. It would be epic!) Strange the Dreamer, and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. I am a sucker for Outlander and am currently listening to the newest book.

Least favorite genres/authors/anything (i.e., what would you really not want to receive in a book?):

-I’m not big on horror or romance.

Physical book vs. ebook? (please include ebook type if applicable)

-Either one. I also do a ton of audiobooks on my commute.

If Physical book: New vs. used?

    -Either one is OK

Do you enjoy/collect stationery? (pens, papers, cards, etc)

    -Love it!

If so what sorts of things do you like/dislike?

-Pens, gel pens, planner stickers, I’m really here for all of it.

    Something Surprising:

Etsy wishlist that I'm in the process of updating, just for reference.

What are 3 things that you always appreciate receiving?

-Anything nerdy/cute, gift cards (I’ve never understood why some people say they’re not a good gift!), and miniature items

    Do you collect anything specific?

    -Nothing specific

How do you feel about handmade goodies?

    -Perfectly lovely

Do you have any favorite Valentine's-themed goodies?

-I actually like those conversation hearts candies. I know, I’m weird

If you were a vehicle, what vehicle would you be and why?

-A baby blue old school VW Beetle - NOT the remake version. I may be a little clunky and rattly, but I have my own quirky style.

    Addendum questions:

    So... Jewelry??

I'm enjoying exploring the meanings of gems and crystals right now. For example, I just saw an Etsy jeweler who used blue chalcedony for a necklace and had to look up it's meanings. I fell in love with the stone!

Types? Rings, bracelets, and necklaces are nice. I've pretty much given up on earrings right now due to constant mask-wearing. It just gets to be too much of a hassle. My favorite bracelets are relatively thin, such that I can wear several at a time. My favorite that I wear almost every day is a string of small blue and bronze (Ravenclaw represent!) beads that can be wrapped several times around my wrist. It came from a local jewelery company

I'd be interested in small and dainty stacking rings, too.

Sizes? 8 is a safe ring size - it fits on several of my fingers.

    Styles? generally more feminine
Colors? I usually stay away from goldtones, tending toward silver. Pink is also a safe bet.

Would you be interested in anything from RavenstoneUnsure at this time. I'll check it out.

Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? I have done quite a bit of planning! My current setup is a Happy Planner (regular size) hourly layout. I especially like the mix of function/organization and an everyday outlet for creativity that planning provides.

Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? Goodreads link!

Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size?

Yes! I've actually been looking at these. Anything in the opaque tights section - size E. It's cold here in New England. Gotta keep the legs covered!

Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks?

Yes? I haven't even looked at cards, etc. in forever. I'm going through a huge transitional period in my life right now though and feeling like this might be an interesting tool for me.

Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now?

Yes, I've actually been looking at these. As I said, I'm going there are huge transitions afoot in my life right now, so anything that helps with clarity of vision, peace, good sleep, etc.

Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift...

Not too much. I don't dislike her.

  2. Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?) Flavors? Light roast? Dark Roast?

Ground please! I don't have a grinder, so I just buy pre-ground. (I use an aeropress, which recommends using a fine grind or espresso grind, but I find it works just fine with a regular grind). Medium and dark roasts preferred. I like hazelnut and irish cream and pumpkin spice and all those nice and nutty/creamy/bakery-type flavors. I'm always up for trying something unusual too.

LMK if you want anything from Mexico because I'm definitely going across for my birthday on the 29th!

Ooh, have fun! I've never been to Mexico or anywhere near it, so I'm not even sure what sorts of things to consider. I do enjoy a good smokey spice though (chipotle, paprika) and I treat sauces/condiments like they're pokemon (gotta collect 'em all!), so something in that vein would be lovely.

What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours?

Historically, purple is my most favorite color, although in recent years I've been skewing towards blue-greens and soft/muted greens pretty hard. Blush tones have made their way into my life as well. I also love copper and rose gold. As for Valentine's colors, I love me a good rich red, like a deep cherry or wine or oxblood. And my preferred pinks are the paler peachy and blush toned ones. And I'll never be mad at a cool-toned neutral, like black, grey, or navy blue.

    Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors?

Certainly! I love dangly, fishhook-type earrings (no posts please) and I'd like to get back into wearing rings (more delicate ones, in sizes 10 and 10.5). No bracelets please, and only lightweight necklaces that are long. I gravitate towards stones that are in the milky/iridescent realm, like opals and moonstone, as well as blue-green stones and purple stones. Rose quartz can be nice too. Tear drop shapes are my fav. All metals are welcome, but I especially like gold, copper, and rose gold.

Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone?

I've been eyeing a pair of earrings from them for a while, but don't get them for me! lol - I might buy something for my target, in which case I'll add the earrings into my cart when I do so. I'd be open to their candles or incense or bath/body products though!

Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.?

A non-structured (or lightly structured) journal would be cool, and possibly a habit tracker too. Oh, and wall calendar would be welcome!

Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own?

    I sure do - goodreads

Picking it up fresh for the new year. I *just* put on my perfume for the next several hours, so I'll update with greater detail later, but here we go~

The following scents are all from Arcana Wildcraft or Arcana Craves or just Arcana Soaps, which is what she called the company before deciding to split the themes. :) I'll include the notes for all of these since they won't be easily searchable on the forum. It's worth noting that they close on the regular to catch up on orders & stock, so ordering from them can be a little difficult at times, but please trust me when I say it's easier now than it used to be when they were available at a number of etailers at random times, and more straightforward than when it was an ebay-based business. 😂

January 1: Scàiltìn -- A festive Gaelic beverage which was first introduced hundreds of years ago. Fresh milk and silky cream are heated and gently whipped with confectionary sugar, warmly spiced honey, Réunion Island vanilla beans, sweet tonka, Irish wh!skey, grated nutmeg, and a bit of butter. -- This is new and currently available in the Winter collection. In the bottle, it's quite boozy & the whiskey is very prominent. Once on the skin, it's a creamy sweet bliss. The honey is definitely present, as is the nutmeg and the vanilla-y/hay-like tonka. ....I'm strongly tempted to look up a recipe for this, holy cats. I love milk punch and hot cocktails, and this sounds like (and if it's anything like the perfume, smells like) something I would love to drink. As it dries, it becomes a sweet honeyed milk and the spices and whiskey completely drop away. I don't always get along with Julia's milk notes, but here, it's lovely. This is overall a very cozy and friendly scent for me, and I'm glad I picked up a full bottle of it. It has almost no throw, though it may develop more of one as it ages, it's quite new, but it's still going strong at six and a half hours later. (the ! in the notes is present on the AW website; I copy-pasted the description directly, in case you were wondering. XD)

January 2: Rapunzel -- Imprisonment, innocence and ceaseless faith. Damascus rose and rose geranium are delicately stroked with vanilla, milk, sugar and a hint of soft white flowers. -- This one is one of my oldest Arcana bottles, from ~2008, and has been discontinued for around a decade. It's mostly a very lovely rose and rose geranium, lightly sweetened and a touch milky, but only a touch. It was beautiful fresh and is still beautiful aged and wears like a dream of flowing dresses, tall towers, and impossibly long hair. I have a second bottle from 2011 as well, one of the last ones she had available. It makes me think of milk baths with rose petals and Waterhouse paintings of girls with pale skin and rosy cheeks. It doesn't have a large throw, though I can smell it from a few inches away, so it's definitely got some, and it lasts for a few hours at strength then tapers off until it's gone ~hour 6 or so. (As an aside, I had a beverage the other night that was mostly rose geranium & black currant leaves and it was like drinking very delicious perfume because I'm so used to smelling that as a perfume note. XD I enjoyed it quite a bit.)

January 3: Wolfling -- An innocently feral opening of sweet marzipan and wild cherry leads to a heart of warm cardamom, sugared vanilla beans, soft wolfing fur, Cashmeran, and gentle gourmand musk. -- Another newer one, originally a GWP, but went live as part of the 2021 Halloween collection later. This smells much stronger of cherry in the bottle than it does at any point on my skin, mostly it's like the first two notes disappear completely in favor of cardamon, vanilla, furry musk, and a particular odd note that I know is the cashmeran but also smells a bit like amber and play-doh (this may partly be the cherry/almond attempting to stage a comeback without really standing out). It's pretty good, but I find it reminds me a lot of a very old perfume from a very long-defunct company, Good Judy, Kemonomimi. The notes for that are: Vanilla bean, rum, chocolate covered cherries, black figs, amber, cardamom, coriander, so perhaps you can see how they might feel a bit similar. Wolfling is muskier and Kemonomimi is a bit sweeter with a pretty decent chocolate note, but the vanilla bean, cherry, cardamom, and amber combo brings them to similar places on my skin, at least until the late drydown of Wolfling, where the Cashmeran and cardamom are all that's left. It's got pretty good lasting power and an interestingly variable throw depending on how warm my skin is. I feel like I might wear this more as a layering perfume with something much sweeter, maybe Scàltìn, or something with a nice sandalwood note if I wanted it to lean that way. Possibly a fir or pine note would be nice, as well. Hm.

January 4: Honey Craves Moonlit Paths -- All the scents of night-hiking in a deciduous forest with only the moon to light your way. Beeswax absolute, forest floor, damp, decaying leaves, fragrant mosses, wild honey, sleeping trees, and a whiff of feral fur. -- This was originally released a while back, I'm not entirely sure how long since I haven't tracked Craves as well as I have her Wildcraft line, but it came to me this year. I swapped for a sample and loved it, so when Craves reopened, I jumped on it. For me, this is heavy on the beeswax, which for Arcana is a very dense, sticky note that has a fairly massive throw and lingers. It's made one scent unwearable for me (Alhambra, the pomegranate/patchouli/rosemary/beeswax combo remains one of the worst things I've ever put on my skin, and the beeswax made it cling) and made a few absolute hits. This one's definitely my favorite of those. It's mostly beeswax and tree notes, though I'm not sure if it's the same as her Trees layering note or her Forest Floor layering note. Maybe it's both. Either way, it's a little damp, a little dirty, and entirely gorgeous. I don't get any honey at all, just wax. It doesn't smell so much like hiking to me, more like the way that a sleepaway camp cabin being used for larping does, with beeswax candles lit instead of electric lights. Brings back some memories from my late teens/early twenties. :)  Lasts forever, throws like a monster, but mostly wax. (This one is, unfortunately, in her discontinued list, which probably means that there's a component she can't currently source. Things have been known to be resurrected before, however.)

January 5: Her Faefolk -- The scent of the elves, fairies, nisser, and other supernatural beings who accompany The Great Herd. A soft bed of young green clover is sparked with bright raspberries, sugared coconut husks, and fuzzy peach skin. -- Another Winter 2021 release, purchased at the same time as Scàltìn. This is mostly sweet, soft peach with a bit of tart raspberry and a tiny bit of coconut on me. The clover is present in the bottle sniff, but doesn't really do much on my skin. It's a nice, pleasantly fruity little scent, but I would be lying if I said that at this point in the aging process it really felt evocative of the inspiration for me. However. Julia's scents often age into much greater depth and presence, so I'm keeping this around in hopes that it develops further in time. Currently it sticks extremely close to the skin and is completely gone after about four hours.

January 6: Eleanor of Aquitaine -- The scent of vivacity, beauty, royalty, wisdom, and an absolute, unfaltering strength. Precious attar of roses, rare chandan wood, cinnamon leaf, cream accord, aged vetiver, and a hint of thorny green stems hidden under fragrant velvet petals. -- (Chandan appears to be another name for sandalwood) Another very old bottle, from 2011, and predictably long discontinued. This is one of my very favorite woods-and-rose scents that I own, and has been for a long time. It's very regal, rich, and deep, with a strong vetiver presence and very big, very dark, red rose notes assisted by the sandalwood and cinnamon. I've never actually gotten any cream from this, but it's probably there keeping the sharper notes in check. Interestingly, there's a similarity to a few BPAL scents with a thorn accord that I hadn't really noticed before, but I really took note of that one last year, so it stands out a bit more to me now. It lasts forever and has an extremely strong throw and I love it and will treasure this bottle as long as it lasts. : )

January 7: Blue Amber layering note -- Fresh white amber, crystal blue aquatic notes, sea air, and a bit of Egyptian blue chamomile. -- I'd contemplated this one on the site for a while, then a decanter whose circle I joined had this on their sale list, so I bought it. : ) The oil itself is blue, as is the case with most (all?) oils containing blue chamomile (or blue tansy, since apparently 'true' blue chamomile is German chamomile, and blue tansy is also known as Moroccan chamomile -- I swear to all the gods I don't believe in that the peculiarities of naming of essences, extracts, oils, and derivatives of various plants is one of the most fun and also incredibly annoying things about this hobby! There's always another ten sites/books/articles to look at, and half of them disagree with each other or are some variation of, yeah, they're almost the same, but actually derived from different plants in the same species, or the only difference is how they're processed. ANYWAY.)  The strongest note is white amber, but there's a distinctive hay-like note (chamomile) and mostly in the throw, a hint of salt and ozone. It's very fresh, almost laundry-like, and the white amber is interestingly unsweet. I'm kind of torn on whether I really like it or not, but I am tempted to use it for layering sometime, if I can think of anything that needs a hint of ...this. Hm. Throw is powerful, lasts for ~four-five hours then completely vanishes without any fade. Overall: odd duck.

Jan 8: Got my booster yesterday evening and could barely move all day. 😢

Jan 9: Still feeling bad, and my sense of smell is weirdly heightened? ...Idk, I'm just really uncomfortable right now.

Feeling a little better today, so on with it. : )

January 10: Glittering Milk -- Sweet, chilled milk with our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- This is another new one from the 2021 Winter collection, and will probably be available once she reopens. I have and have enjoyed other scents in the Glittering Collection, but this one's not really my jam. The milk is a bit sour and it ends up not really adding much to the base scent, imo. It does give me a very particular scent memory, of some gluten-free cookies one of my former coworkers made and the extremely weird but oddly tasty icing that, one year, they added a bit of mint extract to. ...Yeah, it really reminds me of those cookies. I'm glad I went for a sample size of this one instead of a full bottle, but I'm also very glad I tried it. No throw in particular, doesn't last that long, but will probably increase in strength over time.

January 11: Glittering Lavender -- Smooth, sweet, buttery French lavender absolute with our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- I have a few of the Glittering blends. I bought this one last year, but it was resurrected for this year as well. It's very mellow, the lavender is very soft and mild. Maybe a little too mild; after about fifteen minutes, all I can smell is the Glittering base and the barest hint of a lavender bud in the distance. This one is fine, I like it a bit more than Milk, and after a year of aging it has a bit of throw and lasts quite a while, but I'm not super-duper in love with it.

January 12: Glittering Ginger -- Ginger cookies, gingerbread, and fresh gingerroot are blended with our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- Another new one. It's got a lovely sharp and spicy ginger bite at first, but it doesn't last terribly long. I'm hoping that with a bit of age the ginger will deepen up and get some longevity, because otherwise, it's just a bottle of Glittering White with some top notes. That's not necessarily a bad thing, and I do really enjoy the ginger as well as the base, but in buying multiple bottles of scents with a similar base, you do generally hope they feel more distinct. Fairly low throw & longevity in general, but it's only a few weeks old at this point. :)

January 13: Glittering Green -- The scent of eating mint-laced white chocolates in a huge old growth forest. Jammy fir balsam, a bit of black spruce, and our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- I bought this last year as well, and it's also back again. This is my favorite of all the Glittering scents I have, the evergreen notes plus the sweeter notes is *chef's kiss* just gorgeous and both aspects stay balanced through the entire wearlength, which is about average, maybe 4-6 hours.

January 14: Glittering Cherry -- Candied maraschino cherries with our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- Second-to-last one, and probably my least favorite. I'm not averse to cherry perfumes, but I really prefer it to be darker, fruitier cherry, not the sticky candied maraschino note in this perfume. It reminds me a bit of chapstick or cough syrup, that kind of shiny red "cherry" note. Fortunately (?) the cherry doesn't last very long, and then it's just Glittering White for the next while. It's still pretty fresh and compared to some of my slightly older iterations, has little throw or longevity. This was a sample-sized GWP from the 2021 Winter release, though it may appear in a future update. I wouldn't have bought it on its own.

January 15: Glittering Pink -- A sugary sweet melange of pink pistachio candy, pink peppermint ice cream, pink musk, and our Glittering White (an opening of cold peppermint settles into a heart of sugar cookies, marshmallows, white chocolate, and vanilla musk). -- Last one! :) I got this in a swap earlier this year, a decant in a small jar-style vial. I think it was on offer last year, but did not return for this year. The pink notes here really complement the base, the mint is stronger than in any of the other iterations I have, and the candy is very nougat-y on my skin. If it weren't for the doll-like pink musk, this would be extremely edible, but the musk pushes it past that almost into the realm of scented toys. Okay, maybe actually into it. 😂 It's giving me flashbacks to a peppermint-scented My Little Pony I had as a kid. Like Green, the balance stays pretty true through most of the wear time. Unlike any of the others, it fades into the pink notes instead of the base, which is a neat trick. I like this pretty well, but it's not actually that fantastic on my skin, since it leans just a bit towards the plastic.

Whew, halfway through the month already? How is this possible? XD

January 16: Cherry Blossom single/layering note -- Julia was running special request LNs last spring, and I picked this up then. She's since stopped doing them, and this isn't a note that shows up with great frequency in her catalogue, but I love it. BPAL's cherry blossom is very dry and clean on me, often leaning towards the dryer sheets side of the scent spectrum. This one is a little bit as well, but much damper and with a stronger cherry aspect. It's pinker in tone as well, and is the second most accurate to being in the PNW in March/April and standing in a grove of slightly damp sakura trees. The first one that made me !!!!! 🌸!!! when I sniffed it was Olympic Orchids Sakura. I've done hanami with friends for most of the last couple of decades and it just nailed it. This is very close, but a little heavier and more perfume-like, while Sakura is lighter. It has that pale and ethereal yet slightly fleshy aspect of the petals themselves. IDK if you've ever had anything made with sakura blossoms before, particularly pickled ones, but that's the sort of thing this reminds me of. Fairly low throw unless I really pour it on, low longevity, which I'd somewhat expect with nothing to tether it down -- it drifts off gracefully after maybe an hour or two.

  5. Is there anything you forgot to put on your Qs you wish you had?

    Ermmmm a winning lottery ticket!

If you were down with knitted or crocheted items:
do you prefer a wearable or amigarumi? If wearable, is there something you’d really like? If amigarumi anything you love?

I definitely prefer amigurumi, afghans/blocks, mandalas, doilies, etc. if crocheted unless tunisian crochet.  I don't have a need for anything knitted since I'm too hot 99.9999999% of the time and wear t-shirts/camis/capri pants/open toe sandals pretty much all year but there are quite a few knitted amigurumi on my "make for me" list on Ravelry.   I'm 100% a yarn snob though and prefer merino or merino/silk.  Silk and silk/linen are ok too.  Tencel is good.  I'm not a fan of MCN or cashmere in general because of the pilling; same goes for single stranded yarn in general.  Plied is my friend.  No variegated yarn on wearables.  Pretty much any yarn is ok for amigurumi though.

Teeturtle is having one of their megasales - any tshirts, or whatever, that strike your fancy? Size/fit?

I'm a Women's 2x at Teeturtle and I LOVE their shirts but unless they've dramatically sped up, their shipping may be too slow for this swap?  Unless you have it shipped direct.   Ummm I Lovecrafting would be great.  I'll look more tomorrow; I might have a bunch on my Amazon wearables wishlist (I use the universal wishlist button so they go directly to teeturtle.)

What is the best book you've read recently?

I'm not good at rating books or "recently".. (time is such an illusion for me!)   Right now I'm reading "A Chorus of Dragons" by Jen Lyons and need to start book three (but I keep getting interrupted by library books becoming available.)  Just finished "The Other Side of the Sky" by Amie Kaufman.   Last night I started "Child of Light" by Terry Brooks.    My favorite books off the top of my head are The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, The Locked Tomb (however many, no longer a trilogy) by Tamsyn Muir, and all of the Fitz & Fool books by Robin Hobb.  And the Naomi Novik Scholomance books.  Oh, and the Murderbot books.

What are some examples of decorations you would enjoy?

I have ornaments on my amazon holiday wishlist and on my etsy wishlists (especially the ones under Krampus.)  NMBC ornaments FTW!  (links to my wishlists are in my Signature under SW help.)  Skeletal unicorns, bats, krampus, ....

Is there any kind of accessory or product you'd want for your hair?

I could use more stretchy cotton headbands.  There is some hair color I'd love under my bath/beauty wishlist on Amazon.

    What is your jewelry style?

I only wear silver colored and I'm allergic to most metals, so I don't actually wear much jewelry.  I would like to get my ears pierced again someday, this time with a bit of a larger gauge.  I can wear sterling silver and surgical steel.

Are you interested in fandom themed items based on the movies/shows you're into?

Nightmare before Christmas, yes yes yes.

Are you interested in spicy sauces/jams etc?

yes!  I love pepper jelly and jalapeno level spicy things.

Are you interested in Thai snacks? e.g. Thai brand crisps, wafer roll type things, savoury small crackers

I buy the coconut rolls in bulk at costco so I'm good there.  I'm picky about organic and stuff and I'm trying to cut back on cracker type things.

I make light-weight yarn-and-silk-ribbon hair falls. Would you be interested in getting some?

    Maybe?  black and purple forever!

What are your favorite animals or mythical creatures?

Bats, ferrets, corvids, pit bull type dogs, narwhals, dolphins, whales of all types, rats, my sweet piggies/goats/sheep.  oh, duh, horses.  Especially Friesians.

Hippocampus, fantasy equines of all kinds (kelpies, unicorns, pegasus, any type of mythical water horse or mythical creature with horse form.)  Gargoyles/grotesques of all sorts.

I actively support Defenders of Wildlife and am curious if any of these would be of interest?
I love everyone!   All the ones I looked at were $$$$$ though.

I'm candying citrus peel this year. Oranges, mostly. Is that something you would like? Chocolate dipped? What about homemade caramel sauce?
OMG YES.  YES.   And more YES.  to everything.

Do you like adult coloring books at all and if so do any of the ones from this store strike your fancy?
    Not a coloring person, sorry.

how do you feel about solid perfumes?

Not a fan.  Honestly most perfume right now isn't working for me because of my respiratory issues and my skin breaking out with contact.

Is there anything in particular you'd want from the UK?

Bird & Blend tea!  Whittards tea!  Chocolate!  LUSH!  Future Primitive!  Anything else I need to try!  (Jaffa cakes?)  Pudding steamer!  Sticky toffee pudding recipes!  Christmas crackers (do yours have better gifts inside than ours?  ours suck most of the time.)  good wine gums!  alllll the things!

Are you ok with paper books at all?

It depends on the book.  I'm ok with coffee table books, cook books, knitting pattern books, etc. (I can take a photo or scan the pages I want to use and then use them digitally in the event of cook/pattern books) but I have a really hard time reading paperback novels because of my eyes.  I don't have any reading glasses and I'm constantly fighting with my prescriptions at the doctor because I feel blind all the time.  Either they give me a too strong prescription so I can't see *anything* close up at all or too weak and I can't see the TV or road signs.

Do you already have expansion packs for your fave card games?

I pretty much only have two card games - Exploding Kittens NSFW version (no expansions) and Unstable Unicorns - the control box and the chaos box both from the kickstarter (no other expansions, no main game.)  My son has Cards against Humanity and Joking Hazard but I don't know which expansions he has or needs.  I'd love CAH because I do have "special" cards for it (I joined their "Holiday Bullshit" every year they had they ran it!)

Are you interested in perfume samples/decants, or only full sizes?

I'm really not a fan of decants or samples, they usually go to live in a box and are never seen again.  Unless it's something I *REALLY* want to try or really love and can't get.  Yep, there's that duality.  But any imps that are from the lab and aren't special ones, I've probably already tried (except for the new RPG's.)  I don't mind receiving them; I'll just give them away with sales / swaps though.

Are you interested in oracle decks?

I like oracle decks!   I just received one from a kickstarter; The Knitters Oracle (Alex Tinsley.)

    How about wax melts?

I love all scented things (even if my lungs don't) and I do have multiple wax burners.

how do you feel about fruit infused sugar/syrup? I have epic amounts of both, due to my candying this year. I have lemon, citron, orange and cherry.

YES PLEASE.  Either sugar or syrup or both.  All the flavors sound good.

how do you feel about candied quince?

    Sure!

  6. If you were down with knitted or crocheted items:

do you prefer a wearable or amigarumi? If wearable, is there something you’d really like? If amigarumi anything you love?

ooo maybe a penguin or an alpaca

Is there anything you forgot to put on your Qs you wish you had?

hmmm not that I can think of!

Teeturtle is having one of their megasales - any tshirts, or whatever, that strike your fancy? Size/fit?

One of the reading themed ones, ha! Unisex small

What are some examples of decorations you would enjoy?

Hmmm... stuff for a dinner party might be nice and useful. Fancy drinkware and plates,  serving utensils, christmas crackers. I love candles esp. during this time

Is there any kind of accessory or product you'd want for your hair?

Silky scrunchies. I sometimes put my hair up in a bun, something for that?

    What is your jewelry style?

I like big rings (size 5.5 to 6.5) and dangling necklaces! Love gothy pendants and 80s style stuff.

Are you interested in fandom themed items based on the movies/shows you're into?

OMG yes. I am obsessed with Hannibal (as you may know), but I also really like Midsommar. I love handmade fanart and fan crafts

Are you interested in spicy sauces/jams etc?

YES. Love spicy and can definitely use some more hot sauces! I'm running low

Are you interested in Thai snacks? e.g. Thai brand crisps, wafer roll type things, savoury small crackers?

YES, that sounds amazing. The crisps in particular

I make light-weight yarn-and-silk-ribbon hair falls. Would you be interested in getting some?

OooO I think I have an idea for where I will wear these! I'll try to go to Wasteland Weekend next year so I would LOVE something for that!

UPDATE: also, I would love to go to another event of the organizers, https://www.neotropolis.com/ which is Cyberpunk themed so some hairfalls (i looooove neon green/yellow) would be PERFECT OMG

What is the best book you've read recently?

ha i missed this question! I recently read My Sister the Serial Killer and loooooved it! I like tight writing with vivid characters that's on the darker side. I also really loved The Ladder to the Sky, about a self-centered but psychologically empty writer who gets more and more twisted in his search for stories and fame.

I actively support Defenders of Wildlife and am curious if any of these would be of interest?   https://gifts.defenders.org/wildlife-adoptions?price=20-30

OMG the penguin 100%. For my Husband Paul

What are your favorite animals or mythical creatures?

Hmmm I just got a Betta fish so a betta? I also love vampires ha

Do you like adult coloring books at all and if so do any of the ones from this store strike your fancy?

those look so cool but I don't do coloring books sorry!

how do you feel about solid perfumes?

    Sure, I'll try!

Is there anything in particular you'd want from the UK?

I love almost anything UK! Ooo some of those ah, royal wedding souvenirs (like a teacup or a tea tin) of Harry and Megan? The tackier the better, haaaa

Are you ok with paper books at all?

yes, I prefer it! my ereading is erotic fanfiction hahaaaaaa

Do you already have expansion packs for your fave card games?

hmm... for cards against humanity i've got a LOT of expansion packs but! one of the things i've been searching for are expansions to Joking Hazard (I have none).

Are you interested in perfume samples/decants, or only full sizes?

i prefer full sizes (I love the art on them), but i looooove to smell everything!

Are you interested in oracle decks?

    oh yes!

    How about wax melts?

no, I don't have a warmer and I'm not that interested! i love the flame bwahahaha

    catnip?

    I've got no cats, sorry!

What is the best book you've read recently?

Um...recently I haven't read anything at all. I've been struggling to read, although historically I am a voracious reader. I really loved the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch (sp?). I also really liked Ursula Vernon's (as T Kingfisher) Hollow Places. I am mostly burnt out on fantasy and murder mysteries and dystopic anything. I wouldn't mind a copy of Space Opera by Catherynne Valente. Or classic fantasy, Johanna Russ/Tanith Lee/Katherine Kurtz stuff. Scour the used bookstore kind of stuff.

What are some examples of decorations you would enjoy?

The Scary Soltice of The Lovecraft Historical Society, although I own that already. Tatty Victoriana. Sparkly glass/crystal type stuff. Or old fashioned Country Christmas.

Is there any kind of accessory or product you'd want for your hair?

Unfortunately, accessories fall out of my hair. It's super fine and slick, and takes so much product to keep styled it's just not worth the time for me.

    What is your jewelry style?

Victorian/steampunk/gothic. I like big earrings, short or choker necklaces. I love rings and bracelets, but they don't work for work so I don't really wear them anymore.

Are you interested in fandom themed items based on the movies/shows you're into?

Sure...NBC, of course, particularly Jack. Invader Zim. I may have mentioned something else in my questionnaire.

Are you interested in spicy sauces/jams etc?

    Not really.

Are you interested in Thai snacks? e.g. Thai brand crisps, wafer roll type things, savoury small crackers

    Sure!

I make light-weight yarn-and-silk-ribbon hair falls. Would you be interested in getting some?

They sound lovely, but I would likely never wear them.

What are your favorite animals or mythical creatures?

I don't really have a favorite as such.

I actively support Defenders of Wildlife and am curious if any of these would be of interest?   https://gifts.defenders.org/wildlife-adoptions?price=20-30

I'm down with a donation in my name and a crafted critter. An actual adoption kit isn't really my thing.

Is there anything you forgot to put on your Qs you wish you had? I think I forgot to mention what I collect. I like llamas, camels, otters, and teeny tiny things I can put on my letterbox drawer shelves.

If you were down with knitted or crocheted items:

do you prefer a wearable or amigarumi? If wearable, is there something you’d really like? If amigarumi anything you love? Amigarumi are the best! Especially really strange ones. I've got a couple of platypuses that friends have made for me (it's a running joke that I don't really believe in them...) and would find it very funny to get more.

Teeturtle is having one of their megasales - any tshirts, or whatever, that strike your fancy? Size/fit? Socks are always good but I have way too many t-shirts.

What is the best book you've read recently? I read so many books and tend to like all of them! I just read Why Fish Don't Exist by Lulu Miller and really liked it. I've been in the dredges of horror lately (it's spooky season!) with some Justina Ireland and Alma Katsu. Caitlin Doughty's books are always favorites of mine but I have all of them. Just discovered Stephen Graham Jones and I'm obsessed!

What are some examples of decorations you would enjoy? Twinkly lights, woodland animals, garlands.

Is there any kind of accessory or product you'd want for your hair? I use barrettes and hair ties and big poofy scrunchies and hair sticks.

What is your jewelry style? Delicate, nature-y, very Art Nouveau. Or ridiculous animals.

Are you interested in fandom themed items based on the movies/shows you're into? Definitely!

Are you interested in spicy sauces/jams etc? Oh yes absolutely in fact this is exactly the sort of thing I like to receive!

Are you interested in Thai snacks? e.g. Thai brand crisps, wafer roll type things, savoury small crackers Sure!

I make light-weight yarn-and-silk-ribbon hair falls. Would you be interested in getting some? I probably wouldn't wear a big one but I have a mermaid/siren renaissance festival outfit that could use some accessories in subdued ocean colors (nothing too bright!).

What are your favorite animals or mythical creatures? I love all animals. Really. The running joke is that I think platypuses are mythical beasts so my friends give me platypus things. I love otters and other mustelids (badgers, weasels, skunks), all ocean creatures (particularly manta rays, leafy sea dragons, mimic octopuses, sharks, manatees), llamas and camels, and cheetahs and rhinos. I also love mermaids.

I actively support Defenders of Wildlife and am curious if any of these would be of interest?   https://gifts.defenders.org/wildlife-adoptions?price=20-30  There are many animals on there that I love!!

I'm candying citrus peel this year. Oranges, mostly. Is that something you would like? Chocolate dipped? What about homemade caramel sauce? I'm not fond of fruit plus chocolate so no on the chocolate dipped, but I will DEVOUR plain candied citrus peel. Also a resounding yes to caramel sauce.

Do you like adult coloring books at all and if so do any of the ones from this store strike your fancy? https://70eastbooks.com/collections/coloring-book-1?page=1 I am not really a coloring book person, I'm afraid.

how do you feel about solid perfumes? I'm a fan!

Is there anything in particular you'd want from the UK? Dog-themed UK things are always funny here because my dog Amelia is an English setter and very proud of her heritage.

Are you ok with paper books at all? Personally I prefer them.

Do you already have expansion packs for your fave card games? I don't think I listed my favorite card games but we own and are big fans of Coup (and we have the Reformation expansion) and Love Letter.

Are you interested in perfume samples/decants, or only full sizes? Either!

Are you interested in oracle decks?  Maybe? If they had really pretty artwork or some kind of interesting mechanism to them, but they aren't really something I use normally. That said, I've been known to draw tarot cards for writing inspiration so I'm not ruling it out.

    How about wax melts? Sure!

are you interested in a muscle rub that is similar to icy hot but is homemade by us? Yes! CBD is kind of wasted on me (it doesn't seem to affect me at all) so save yourself the expense and send me the non-CBD version lol

How about some home grown organic cat nip? My cats would love this!

How do you feel about fruit infused sugar/syrup? Oh they'd absolutely get used

How do you feel about candied quince? Yes!

The topic of biopsychology concerns a sphere, in which the mentality-body relations are researched via the scientific investigation and clinical practices. Biological psychology studies the biological foundation of the human intellection, feelings, and conducts. The current paper analyzes the biological psychology, which is a major discipline in studying the gender-related differences, especially the gender-related cognitive and behavioral differences.

    The Topic of Biological Psychology

Biological psychology is a study of the physiologic grounds of human conduct. This branch of psychology initially considered the connection between the psychological operations and incumbent physiological occasions (Garrett, 2014, p. 3). It concerns the functioning of the brain and the nervous system in general and in various operations, including intellection, education, sensation, feelings, and apprehension, which are considered the major features of the human brain. Biological psychology has been repeatedly incorporated in researching the physical ground of the inner and outer incentives of the nervous system, especially the optical and aural systems (Garrett, 2014, p. 7).

    The Origin of Biological Psychology

The origin of biological psychology can be traced back to Avicenna, a Persian physician. He considered physiological psychology (the second name for biological psychology) a therapy in the treatment of the illnesses associated with emotions. The scientist developed a system for explaining the alterations in the cardiac rate with the internal emotions (Garrett, 2014, p. 17). Avicenna also developed psychological definitions for the particular somatic diseases. In addition, he used to associate the physical and psychological diseases in general. He asserted that the so-called humidity in the head could cause various mood disorders; the scientist asserted that it developed when the breathing rate altered. In such a manner, felicity elevated the breathing, which caused the raised humidity in the brain. However, in the case the humidity further increased, the brain might lose control over its rationalism and develop certain mental disorders (Garrett, 2014, p. 18). Biological psychology as a scientific branch and discipline had developed from a plenty of scientific and philosophical doctrines of the 18th and 19th centuries (M?ntyl?, 2013, p. 514).

The Concept of Human Behavior in Biological Psychology

Human behavior is an extremely important concept in biological psychology. Therefore, according to biological psychology, behavior is indissolubly related to somatic or physiological practices, which are produced as a result of the brain’s exposition to susceptible impacts (Garrett, 2014, p. 4). Therefore, biological psychology assumes that the mentality and body have a natural connection; this assertion is supported by the susceptible apprehensions provided by physiology. Recently, many investigations have been conducted in order to cure such conditions as Parkinson’s disease, clinical depression, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, and drug abuse, which all help to stabilize the psychology as such (Garrett, 2014, p. 17). Psychologists of the biological approach conclude that the behavior and practice are determined by the operation of the nervous system. The concepts, which the human beings cognize and sensate, invent and perform are provoked by the electrochemical occasions appearing in and between the neurons, which create the nervous system, especially the neurons in the brain. Many biopsychologists assert that, due to the fact that the evolvement of the brain is defined by the genes an individual intercepts, the conduct may be impacted by genetic agents (Garrett, 2014, p. 12).

The Impact of Biological Psychology on the Human Health, Well-Being, and Lifestyle

Biological psychology observes the feasible psychological reasons responsible for the health issues, including deficiency of self-discipline, emotional splutter, and negative speculations. When these health issues are solved, a person can improve the overall health and well-being (M?ntyl?, 2013, p. 514). In fact, various biopsychological influences can provoke a biological reaction by inducing the person to hazardous effects. For instance, the doldrums by itself usually do not cause any liver issues. Nevertheless, a depressed individual may develop certain alcohol problems, which, in turn, will affect the liver. Therefore, there might be an increased likelihood of the problems and complications in the future. Biological psychology allows changing the overall lifestyle, which will eliminate the potential difficulties of the mood and behavior disorders (M?ntyl?, 2013, p. 514).

    Gender-Related Cognitive and Behavioral Differences

One of the most important topics in biological psychology is gender differences, particularly, gender-related cognitive and behavioral peculiarities. It is a well-known fact that males and females intermingle, ratiocinate, sensate, apprehend, repute, and love in a different way, due to the fact that they figuratively talk in different languages. Therefore, it is important to understand how distinctive the males and females are.

Berninger et al. (2008) conducted a research to investigate the gender differences in terms of the writing and reading disabilities, as these issues are usually caused by the cognitive and behavioral differences. On the other hand, Howell, Davis, and Williams (2008) researched the concept of infant talking peculiarities, which might be also explained by the gender differences. The girls reach the talking stage earlier than the boys do; therefore, they have more practice, knowledge, and confidence in the sphere. Finally, M?ntyl? (2013) researched the gender differences from the perspective of dimensional and spatial ability, as it is considered that males surpass females in this sphere.

The question of gender difference cannot be lightly responded not because of the fact that there is a shortage of investigation on the topic, but because the results of the investigations are frequently obscure and conflicting. One cause is provoked by the fact that distinctive investigators approach the same peculiarity in different ways (Garrett, 2014, p. 221). Modern parents endeavor to bring up their children evenly; however, the parents who declare to act this way have been discovered to behave in a different manner and play other games with an infant-girl and an infant-boy. Distinguishes in upbringing could definitely have the responsibility for notable contrast in conduct, character, and self-perspectives (Garrett, 2014, p. 222).

There are three major divergences in the social conduct and cognitive operation. Firstly, females have better verbal stirring than males do. Secondly, males surpass females in the visual-dimensional skills (M?ntyl?, 2013, p. 515). Thirdly, males are usually better in mathematics. Finally, males are more bellicose than females. However, it is crucial to affix two additional points. Firstly, there is a notable overextend between males and females in these references. Secondly, the divergences are rather characteristic. For example, it is known that women surpass men in the verbal evenness and writing activity but not in reading perceptivity or lexicon while men’s dimensional performance surpasses the women’s one more in the duties necessary for the mental circumvolution of the three-dimensional target and less in other dimensional problems (Garrett, 2014, p. 224). That is the best argument that the three cognitive divergences mentioned above are impacted by practice; in fact, they have reduced with time due to the fact that the gender functions and roles have altered. In fact, investigation of 7 million students demonstrated that the gender divergence in the ordinary mathematical operation has vanished away in the US, despite the fact that males are of a disproportionally large number at both the lower and the higher poles (Garrett, 2014, p. 225). Similar tendencies were investigated in a research of 89 states. The data received suggest that the advance is caused by the growing gender evenness (Garrett, 2014, p. 225). Furthermore, the effective delirium in the murder scale in various states presupposes that there is a serious cultural impact on the bellicosity, as well (Garrett, 2014, p. 226). Although the environmental impacts perform a crucial function, gender differences in cognition and conduct also oblige a deal to biology. Most frequently, the investigators associate divergences with estrogen and testosterone, especially in the organizational evolvement of the brain during pregnancy. Such an opinion receives backing by the fact that the gender divergences in distinctive brain locations depend on the concentration of sex hormone receptors in these locations (Garrett, 2014, p. 227). The influence of the sex hormones on the brain evolvement is most apparent in people, who have unusual sexual development. In such a manner, males who experience a deficiency of testosterone during puberty are disabled afterwards in dimensional capacity, and testosterone substitution in older male enhances their dimensional operation (M?ntyl?, 2013, p. 515). Male who take estrogens as they consider themselves females (transsexual males) enhances their results in the verbal evenness while their dimensional operation decreases. On the other hand, transsexual females taking testosterone lose verbal excellence but improve dimensional operation (Garrett, 2014, p. 226). Bellicosity in men is partially patrimonial; genetic influences stand for approximately half the divergence in bellicosity, Aggression, in turn, is reasonably consistent in the identical twins even if they are brought up apart (Garrett, 2014, p. 227).

According to Howell et al. (2008), an average 20-month old girl has twice as large lexicon as an average 20-month old boy does. This phenomenon is caused by the fact that preschooler females reach the talking stage earlier than boys do; thus, they have more experience. Such an early speaking is practically considered a stereotype concerning the fact that most girls have more advanced verbal capacities (Howell et al., 2008, p. 675). It is very significant for boys to be engaged in the communication with parents and other family members. Girls are eventually willing to speak while boys usually require being stimulated (Garrett, 2014, p. 221). Men are more likely to detect the response and progress (Howell et al., 2008, p. 675). There are a number of characteristics, which prove the fact that the boys usually experience problems with the reading activity; however, the recent data demonstrate that the issue can be easily manages with the reading aloud practice (Berninger et al., 2008, p. 169).

    Conclusion

In fact, the paper demonstrated that biological psychology is a crucial branch of psychology as it investigates the human conduct. The paper showed that there are three major differences in the social conduct and cognitive operation. As a rule, these differences are caused by the parental upbringing and biological issues. In fact, it means that the parental upbringing together with the testosterone and estrogen levels influence the gender-related cognition and conduct patterns from the early childhood.

  8. Meh - so very tired today.  Pretty sure its from staying up way, way too late last night. Trying to wake up but it's really not working well.  I have class in 30 minutes or so and I'm really hoping I can stay awake for it.  Hmmm looking at my desk, I feel a sidetrack coming on.  I really need to clean it and get ride of some of the junk on here.  Put earrings where they need to go and just a general clean up.  I would love to have space for a second monitor but that's not happening in this current desk configuration.  ah well back to pondering awakeness.

  9. I think I'm stressing because money is tighter than I want it to be (yay, inflation), but Weenies are something I save for, and while they are not my sentimental favorite update (that will always be Yules), they are the seasonal LEs that have historically worked the best for me. So, like, I want to spend my money, but I don't want to spend too much money, and mostly, I don't want to spend money on the wrong things and then regret the choices I've made.

Somewhere while reading the update, I got the idea that I wanted a bottle from Vanitas, "The Vampire," Pumpkin Patch, and Freak in the Sheets, which is just silly. I should get what I want and not limit myself into or out of categories.

So. I want to rethink... not everything, but a lot of scents.

A Skull, A Music Book, A Snuffed-Out Candle -- I do want a bottle of a skull scent. The idea of the artwork is amazing, and many of the skull perfume names are inherently fun to say. But. That is not enough to get me to purchase a bottle with tulip as the first note without at least waiting for reviews.

Black Satin Sheet Ghost -- Love the idea, though not as fun as skull fume. But. I like black patch (and all patch) and clary sage. Less so the other notes.

Cognac-Stained Sheet Ghost -- I have questions about the combination of notes. Vanilla good, balsam eh, cognac uncertain, tumbleweeds... who knows?

Dead Leaves, Peppercorn, and Pumpkins -- I want this, but I will regret it. I regret every dead leaves bottle I've ever purchased (or swapped for). (Not in the getting to try, but in the believing I could wear dead leaves.)

Paisley Sheet Ghost -- Everything in here I love or at least tolerate well (oakmoss, lavender). Either it's going to smell like weed (yay) or like plant-y sandalwood (also fine). This is a pretty safe bottle.

PSL -- Feel like I should wait for Rite of Passage and Kobold Barista to get here before I commit to another coffee scent, even if this one includes Snake Oil evocations and pumpkin spice.

Pumpkinville -- Love sweet red musk, pumpkin, and pumpkin spice. I'm a leetle leery of the red musk with the pumpkin notes, but I feel like this is another safe bottle as I at least like all the components individually.

Pyramid of Skulls -- Like sandalwood, not thrilled about tobacco absolute. I should really probably not get this, even though it's my favorite Vanitas pic.

Skeletons Dancing to a Tune -- Honestly, this does fill my sandalwood needs a lot better. Amber and blood musk are both good. The only pepper note I don't really love is the green pepper I get from dead leaves (though even that could be because it's in a blend where it's supposed to be acting like dead leaves instead of green bell).

Still Life With Dooting Skull -- Want to love it. Can't get past the licorice.

FIRST QUESTION:  what sizes do you wear for jewelry purposes - rings, etc.

No rings please. Necklaces of pretty much any length are appreciated! Earrings that are super hypo-allergenic (I can do gold, silver, and surgical steel posts). I rarely wear bracelets.

Question: what's your favorite fall food based treat?

Ummmm...... any fall fruits. Ciders : apple, mulled, etc. Mulled wine. Pumpkin pie/pumpkin bread/pumpkin everything else: pumpkin, not just pumpkin spice :D . I function at my highest when I don't eat gluten.

Are you more interested in a spiritual service you haven't mentioned practicing yourself, or would you prefer to receive something you do practice? Do you have a preference for if it's provided in writing/placed in the package vs over a skype/phone call?

Any is great! I would prefer a zoom/skype/phone call vs a physical spell, but I accept any and all manifestations of good energy.

For item no.5, what kind of thing would you most appreciate?

Anything handmade with love! Anything curated for me with care!

Anything in particular you're interested in from the UK?

I love local art stuff, and interesting treats that you can only get in your neck of the woods.

Any interest in apothecary style indies, e.g. essential oils, natural skincare, flower waters?

Sure, especially if they're related to the changing seasons and celebrating the passing of time. I don't do floral smells for my body, and I don't scent my house.

What is it that you're most wanting out of this fall season? (e.g. that could require magical assistance)

I mentioned this in my questionnaire, but I'm looking towards a big... hatching is the visual that's coming to mind, oddly - a new growth spurt, which I would love to support in any and all ways possible. I'm also finding that time is passing by without my noticing lately, so anything that helps me take notice and celebrate the change in season would be great.

Books. Are you a big reader? If so, do you prefer ebooks, audio, or printed? Would you enjoy an art or photography book? Do you like poetry?

Yes. All the books. Many books. I like pre-loved paperbacks or Kindle editions. I love to read magical realism. I enjoy poetry. I'm not the best audience for an art/photo book.

Is there anything typically sold at a Renn Faire that you'd be interested in?

Not specifically, but anything that fits into my other gift genres is great.

Candles. Any preferences? Taper/Pillar/Votive/Jar/Chime/etc.? Scented vs Unscented?

No preference, but I would only like to receive a candle that has a ritual/spiritual significance, since I don't scent my spaces (and I also sell very nice candles in my gift shop that I can take whenever I want).

Are there any types of makeup/nail polish that you would or would not like to receive?

No makeup or nail polish, please.

Is there anything you definitely DON'T want (either because you don't like it or already have it)?

I can't think of anything right now. I trust your instinct!

Are there any art/craft supplies you currently need?

Not that I need, but I do knit and spin and I like adding thoughtful yarns and fibers to my stash.

Homemade treats...any likes and preferences?? AND YES, I am also wanting to know what flavor/s of fudge you would love to get if I happen to be your Adept ;)

All of them, please. All of the fudges. I don't like raspberries, raw celery, onions, or caraway seeds.

Quick question for the group: What are your thoughts on sweet treats? If you like them, what are your favorites? And what is one that you consider extra special?

I enjoy them! I especially love anything home made, or local to you, or small-business-made. I prefer fruity, tart, creamy, or dark chocolate, but I love small tastes of pretty anything!

Or Butterfingers. I really love Butterfingers and I have a rule to never buy them for myself- they’re a strictly gift/steal/nab from the candy jar treat for me.

EDITED TO ADD: I'm avoiding refined sugars at the moment for health reasons!

If I were to knit you an adornment would you prefer a hat, fingerless mitts, a cowl, or a shawlette (small shawl, worn like a scarf.)

mitts, please! But honestly whichever feels like the most fun, or whatever pattern you're itching to try out.

If yes, are you ok with soft wool (I have mostly merino)?  What colors would you prefer?

yes wool. Blue, purple, black, cream, grey.

Do you have a wishlist for BPAL perfume / gloss / atmosphere sprays?

    Yes, it's in my signature.

Are you interested in a sewn or knitted tarot bag?

    Yes.

Would you like to sample our home made liqueurs?  (Rosepetal and/or lavender vanilla bean and/or plum)

Yes, all of those sounds lovely. I'm most attracted to the lav/vanilla.

How about jams?  (peach, huckleberry, cardamom plum, cardamom/cinnamon/clove plum, anise plum, ginger jalapeno peach)

Yes - no raspberry please. I'm especially a fan of peach jams, but I love them all - we make (GF) pancakes every Sunday and I eat them with jam/preserves.

Other canned goods?  (green tomato relish, chokecherry jelly)

    YES!

    Fudge?

    YES!!

    Lemon blueberry zucchini bread?

My heart wants to say yes, and my body needs to say no unless it's gluten free ALTHOUGH the rest of my household eats all the things, so I could have a nibble and they would eat the rest.

  10. Original Thread here. IGI thread here.

**Things that I forgot to mention in my questionnaire - I've started a blog post with my "wishlist" since my Amazon and Etsy lists are more for me keeping track of things I want/hope to get for others. I will also always welcome decanting supplies (looking for alternatives to the usual slink/imp vials for accessibility reasons)!

Cross-stitched Halloween ornament? This sounds hella adorable!!

Are there any collage artists in the mix? I occasionally make postcard collages to send out! This would be lovely!

Dragon Con 2021 scents? I love a good peach scent, but I think Fuzzy Peach Sweater and Mug of London Fog and Peach and Sugared Oranges Slices speak to me most...But that Working Title one's got my attention for the name alone.

HP House? Not into this fandom and I don't like JKR.

Do you like any art from these two sellers? In general, I love a good pin and sticker, which these two artists look like they have!

    • https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMcCarthyArt - AHH bury me in books! Athena, Artemis, Persephone, Freya!
    • https://www.etsy.com/shop/BatinYourBelfry - oh I love so much here...!

Lightweight yarn-and-ribbon hairfalls - would you like a set in the colors and length of your choice? This would be cool but would this still look cool with my side shave? My favorite colors are noted in my questionnaire answers, and length... Maybe an inch past shoulder length at most.

Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers? I'm not a fiber arts person, but wool makes me itchy. As for beads, I'm indifferent but I don't do much with them unless they're unique and on the larger size.

Do you like stickers? Patches? Buttons? Yes, yes, yes!
Do you spend time in the outdoors? Not enough but I enjoy it when I do.
Do you enjoy cooking and/or baking? Yes! Though I cook more than I bake.

The Paintbox Soapworks Weenie collection! Would you like anything? MMM Fairytale sounds delicious - bath streusel or the hair/perfume oil! G.O.A.T in hot process soap, bath streusel, or hair/perfume oil. I'd also consider sample size lotions of either scent.

The Pickety Witch is taking pre-orders for their new Halloween pins. Have any caught your eye? THAT TRICK OR TREATING BABY GOAT IS ADORABLE. I'm also really diggin' the vampire bat.

Would you like any wax melts, candles, whipped soaps, sugar whips (whipped soap/scrub hybrid), body butter sugar scrubs (moisturizing scrub), meringues (lotion), bath bombs, or bath rocks from Zeep? I'm down for bath bombs or bath rocks!

Does anyone like vintage Halloween? Sometimes as it depends on what it is.

It seems like a lot of shops’ Halloween lines have items related to the same standard fandoms, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Disney’s Haunted Mansion, Beetlejuice, Addams Family, etc.  Do any of those (or other ones) particularly resonate with you? I actually don't care too much for any of those. Hocus Pocus actually annoys me a little because of how everywhere it is. Halloween for me is general spooky (black cats, witches, ghosts, corvids, supernatural things, don't get too gorey), much pumpkins and general fall/autumn things.

If you like tea, how do you want it delivered? Loose? Bags? Tiny little messenger pigeons (subject to availability)? Well, now I need it to be delivered by tiny, little messenger pigeons if it's available. I don't have a strong preference but pre-bagged does make it easier for me to take it places without needing to take extra gear.

How do you feel about atmospheric/novelty scents and novelty food items? Things like "new car candle" or "eyeball jawbreaker" or whatever. I love ridiculous things like this! I'm fine with most novelty scents, but I ask that you keep it to the smaller sizes (i.e. 4oz candle vs 8oz if you have such options). Novelty food items? I'm game for whatever you find interesting for me!

Would you prefer to receive ONE HUGE (more expensive) GIFT and 12 inexpensive ones, a few more expensive, or all about the same price? I'm sorry if I'm the worst with this answer, but it's whatever YOU are most comfortable with (even though we're all on the same budget). Do what speaks to you about me.

What are your fandoms, if any? I feel like I may have touched on this in my questionnaire but should I have forgotten, I love Hannibal, The Expanse, Criminal Minds and the CSI's series. Attack on Titan was the last anime I watched and enjoyed. Deadpool is my favorite sassy mercenary. Oh, and How to Train Your dragon!

Do you collect things like tarot decks?  If so do you have a wishlist or a list of ones you already have?  Would you like a silk tarot bag? I don't collect tarot decks but my best friend gifted me a beautiful Salvador Dali deck two years ago that I cherish deeply. A (large) bag for it would be delightful.

Do you like rocks/crystals?  What colors kinds?  Would you like them in bead format (holes drilled?) I love shiny rocks and crystals! I love ones that look like an oil slick. My latest is a Purple Labradorite Palm Stone from Realm & Reason. I find moonstone, onyx and smokey quartz to be really pretty, but I also just love most things purple.

My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags.  Do you love anything from it?  These bags are so cute and look great for me to stow away my knick knacks (or plethora of makeup). I'm drawn to the Ravens & Bats, She Blinded me with SCIENCE, and the Bones prints.

Let's say you want something knitted.  What are you most interested in?  Shawl or amigurumi/toy (I love octopuses, cuttlefish, otters, chipmunks, hamsters).

    • *What colors would you prefer said knitted object in? Either true to what they are in real-life or some take on the bisexual flag colors! My favorite color is purple so shades of purple would work, too.
    • *Stripes, gradient, semi solid, variegated? No preference!
    • *What type of yarn would you prefer? Whatever is softest! I don't usually know which that is but I feel like cashmere, silk, and tencel fall under that category. My eczema-prone skin likes to be pampered lol.

Are you interested in receiving any of the following homemade / home dried / home canned goodies?

    • Dried Honey Crisps (I LOVE apple crisps!!)
    • Dried elderberries (wildcrafted)
    • Canned any variation of plum or peach jams/goodies - I particularly love peach!
    • Any of the homemade liquer/brandy
    • Open to zucchini or pumpkin bread - I do not have a favorite recipe for either as I personally do not make either. Generally I love a lot of the autumn spiced baked goods.

How do you feel about oracle decks? I don't know enough to have an opinion, so let's pass altogether lol.
Would you like witchy/ritual oils/sundries? Any limitations (e.g. deities you won't work with)? No, thank you!
Is there anything you would like to try from the UK specifically? (e.g. Lush exclusives) Oh, I'd be down for any Lush exclusives! I totally forgot about those.
Oh, and are you into astrology? I dabble but not like up to my eyeballs deep in it.

What size shoe do you wear (inc wide/narrow, etc)? Women's US 7 regular.

Do you like/would you want to receive comic books? Any favorite genres or characters? Yes! I like sci-fi, Deadpool, horror. I'm not too picky. I appreciate a good story.

Would you like a palm stone, or anything else, from Haute Macabre? WOULD I EVER YES. Stones I love are moonstone, celestite, obsidian, sodalite, ruby kyanite, lapis lazuli, rainbow fluorite, and any of the quartz. The spheres are extra cool to me! I also love note/greeting cards, i.e. the moth ones.

What's your favorite flower? I love lilies and roses.
What's you favorite woodland creature? Chipmunks and squirrels...but I think river otters might fall into this category (if so, definitely otters).

Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)? I'm fine if some things were shipped directly and separately, as long as there's a note for me to connect two and two together... Otherwise I'm gonna sit here and be confused but thrilled that I have a secret admirer???? But yeah, go for it if shipping separately saves on shipping or whatever.

Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape? Sure! I prefer the dome-shaped versus pleated. I do have a strong preference for those with the nose-wire as that has helped with keeping it from fogging up my glasses.

Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.?  Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type? I'm open to sample-sized skincare! Sheet masks, definitely yes! Pampering package, also yes. I have eczema so I'm a sensitive dry type. I could also use new SPF moisturizer - my favorite has been long discontinued (algenist's sublime blurring moisturizer) and I'm still struggling with finding a new replacement.

Anything from ChocolateStoryBook etsy? OH MY GOODNESS, YES. Chocolate Strawberry, Churros, Banana Split are the top three I'd love to try!

Anything interesting from either Hexennacht or Mr. Hex? Definitely the perfume oils!

    • Hexennacht wishlist: Hannibal Loves Clarice, Black Cherry Fizzy Soda, Sleep Paralysis, Kona Mocha.
    • Mr. Hex blends that I love more of: Catatonic (Lush Twilight dupe), YKW? IDEK (discontinued Hexennacht), Thundercat (Demeter Thunderstorm dupe), and I'd love to try the Lost Kitty body oil (TF Lost Cherry dupe).

Would you like some delicious coffee? If so, do you prefer whole bean or ground? If ground, what grind? Also, light or dark roast? Flavor preferences? Yes! Whole bean or course grind for a french press. I prefer medium to dark roasts. I would kill for a good chocolate cherry coffee again, but I'm open to most things!

I may be going to the Renaissance Fair this weekend, any Ren Faire goodies you may like? Sure! Whatever that speaks to you of me 😄 I can't think of anything specific. I'm always curious to see what things make people think of me.
I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things? Yes, yes, yes! No flavored vinegars though. I love it when people share their local goods with me, especially since we're not traveling a lot right now.

Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies? I do not, but if there's something I should definitely open up first before something else, please leave a note somewhere! There's a good chance I might have to do that for the goodies that I'm packing.

If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit? My favorite books/series are Dune, The house of the Scorpion, The Expanse (series and the novellas), and I just finished The Empress of Salt and Fortune! (Absolutely love it, so much so that I just gifted a copy to a friend recently.) I believe I may have also elaborated a bit in some answers from my Spring cleaning swap (link in my sig) so you can browse there too for ideas.

Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters? Tiki cocktails!

*Is there something that you definitely prefer to not receive in any category (anything to avoid if you hadn't/forgotten to mention)?* Water bottles because I'm kind of picky about those and I have enough currently. Headbands - my head/hair never quite looks right in them. Dark oudh like that in BPAL's Ganymede makes me sick. We don't really use beverage koozies in my house. And please keep the glitter to a minimal!
*Are there patterns/prints (more guidance than general Halloween/Autumn) you like for things or are you open to whatever I may find that speaks to me?* My favorite sports teams' prints are fair game. Otter themed prints/patterns that are in the autumn/spooky season? yes! I'll take autumn leaves over pumpkins, but I can appreciate a good jack-o-lantern. I always find glow-in-the-dark things fun. Ooh vintage prints would be cool! Bats, black cats, crows/ravens/corvids - I love.

Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? That would be so sweet, whatever it would be! My main squeeze is the hubs, but I do have date nights with my best friends whenever we're in the same town.

If you happened to list some favorite fandoms earlier, would you also name your favorite character(s) from those fandoms? Obviously Hannibal and Will Graham, lol. I adore Naomi, Camina Drummer, and Amos from The Expanse. Gritty is my lord and savior. Deadpool is my favorite sassy mercenary. I'm not sure who my favorite is from BTS, Jin or Jungkook. Oh! Supernatural - I love everything (for the most part) about this show!

Do you have an Amazon link?  Can you post it?? I don't have one that's useful for this swap, but I did make a blog post that should suffice!
if you are a knitter/crocheter, are you over on Ravelry?  If so, what’s your user name there?? I'm neither of those.

I make homemade fire ciders, would that be of interest? Non-alcoholic and they are quite fiery. I'd try these!

Are you interested in getting other BPAL items besides perfume, like hair gloss, bath oils or T-shirts? Absolutely. I've actually been eyeing the honey and mischief HGs. I prefer the men's/unisex size small in shirts though.

So partner, would you be interested in a Frankenbag done in Halloween prints? uh, YEAH THAT SOUNDS SO FUN AND COOL.

*Y'all with furbabies... Are there any food allergies/sensitivities or quirks to know about? I don't currently have any furbabies or pets for that matter. Except for the occasional cricket that finds its way into our home.

How do you feel about (ethically sourced) butterfly / moth art (in a jar or shadowbox)? Uh, I'd fckin' love this! I find moths to be cuter but I do appreciate a gorgeous butterfly specimen.

I may have preemptively picked out 2 Halloween-themed mugs with cute matching spoons, before I knew who my match was going to be! So I leave it to you: Bat, or Cat? Bat! lmao this was me shopping this weekend figuring I'll just take a gamble since my match was very behind on questions until maybe twelve hours ago (and well after I've done the bulk of my sourcing of things). All is well though!

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass? A kid-friendly drawing would be fine.

Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Notoriously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)? I'd prefer the Notoriously Morbid one, but open to either. I can't even recall if I have any neutral palettes, but I've only ever reached for such shades when I've been asked to do someone's makeup for special occasions.

Are you interested in anything specifically Japanese I could get for you here (doesn't necessarily have to be Halloween themed)? For example, are you a fan of the anime Demon Slayer and want merch? Are you interested in trying some fun kit-kat flavors? Do you need a new set of pretty chopsticks? I love weird/fun kit kat flavors!!! I would LOVE to get my grubby hands on more of the wasabi one! It was such a wild thought but man, it was so good. Any of my friends or family who have gone to Japan always come back with something Pikachu-related for me. I'd love an Oshawott plush though, just to switch things up. I'd love JRock merch - Dir En Grey has been a long time favorite of mine, next up is the GaZette. I'm also just a sucker for cute things. (No chopsticks unless it's hilariously Pikachu-themed.)

In the meantime- there is an excellent chance teeturtle will have a sale in time for this swap: anything (particularly tshirts or socks) that appeal? Sizes? I have a soft spot for the otter things! And I love the reversible octopuses or axolotls. I think I'd be a medium in the women's shirts, and socks are fair game! You can never have too many fun pairs of socks, right?

Also, the Haus of Gloi Fall Part 1 drops soon, anything here you like? I'm not sure. I haven't been wow'd but this house but I'm open to trying new things if you find something that lines up with what I like... I'd be interested in any form of the perfumes or candles. I've also just discovered that they have a black cherry soda soap and I need this.

Could you use a journal or sketchbook? I'd love a watercolour sketchbook! But I'm open to regular journals or sketchbooks :)

Do you need BPAL storage?  Imps?  Bottles? Kinda sorta? My imps/decants are starting to run wild...

Do you wear socks?  What kind?  No show, ankle, knee high, over the knee?  Fibers? Yes! Ankle or crew socks! I don't think I have a fiber preference but wool might be a little too warm for where I am.

*Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too! I've bubble wrap scraps out the wazoo, much to hubby's dismay, lol.

Me? I love Hi-Chews (we love the cola & ramune ones, but I love most of the fruits), M&M's, gummy cola bottles, peach rings... I do love me a good dark chocolate...and chocolate covered cherries or raisins! I haven't found these in a while, but milk chocolate covered BANANA gummy bears! yes, only the banana gummy bears.

How do you feel about fancy marshmallows? Uhm, I love marshmallows. Gimme.

We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour? I don't think I care that much about shapes but I tend to prefer sweet over sour.

    Anything from these Etsy shops?

    • Kodiak Sea Charms - these are all so pretty! Silver is my preferred metal, earrings or necklace works for me (plain glass with no charm). Also very not opposed to a jar of pretty sea glass.
    • Halloween Hill Studio - too ghoul for school sticker!
    • Grave Markings - the glow cat skull pin or cat skull vinyl sticker! Blindfold, Ram, or the She's Coming to Get You prints.

What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop? UMLAUT, UMLAUT, UMLAUT. But I also love postcards, regular cards, earrings, the wood rib cage necklace. I love this museum even though there's a few things there that do weird me out (that wall of skin ailments is so fascinating but sometime gross lmao).

I grow mugwort and it's harvest season. Would you like dried leaves for bathing or tea? Or a bound bundle for smoke cleansing? (Its said to be excellent for divination or lucid dreaming, but do not use if pregnant.)  Oh, neat! I'd love it for tea or bathing! I'm definitely curious about it on chicken.

I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others? I love mint and basil! Maybe some chives too... Is lemon balm like lemongrass...?

I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest? I'll never turn down some good garlic.

Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like. Uh, yes, please! I love cool feathers!

I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios) I'd love to try shiso pesto! My parents grow the purple one, but I never thought about trying it as pesto.

I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some? Uh, yes please!

Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)? This is adorable but I don't think I use a consistent bottle of hand sanitizer that would fit it... It's unbelievably adorable though.

If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in? I'm okay in this department!

DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES? I don't mind them.

DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING? I don't mind them but I don't seek them out.

Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? I'd enjoy some cozy tights!

What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level? oooh yes! On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being just barely and 5 being my pants on fire - we like at least a 3.
In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals. YES. SO MUCH YES.

The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? So much! Bath bombs are always a hit here, I like jewelry, and all the polishes are so pretty - I don't think you could go wrong with whatever you decide on.

Anything here sound good to you? https://gryffonridge.com/ hooooboy gimme some fancy salts or the fruit sugars! We *are* running low on a good ancho chile powder though... Really open to any of the culinary blends for poultry, beef or pork.

Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers. Do any spark your interest? Nah, nothing's vibin' with me.

So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy? Pass on the creepy dolls but I've been loving some of the repainted wholesome figurines. I do like jar specimens but nothing too big, something that fits on a small shelf would be ideal. I hate that I can't think of what would be too dark until I see it, lol.

do you use any sorts of semipermanent dyes or do anything fun/wild to your hair? are there any hair products you like? Yes! I have front sections bleached and dyed blue and fiery orange. I'm looking for a better blue or purple dye brand that would last longer... Manic Panic has been great in vibrancy but does not last long in my hair despite cool/cold washes once a week. Otherwise I don't really use much else in terms of hair products. Sometimes a smoothing spray, BPAL HGs.

what about skincare? i am pretty into k beauty and am curious if others are interested in any aspects of this. I have a pretty established routine and set of products. I do enjoy K-Beauty! I love their sunscreen products that wear better in my opinion.

Regarding tea, what type of tea do you prefer? Black tea, green tea, herbal tea? Any type of tea you really don’t enjoy? I think I'm a dominantly black tea drinker, but cold drinks will usually be white or green teas... I don't drink a lot of herbal blends unless it's like the sleepy time ones!

Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.'s Halloween & Fall collection is out: anything you might be interested in? oh my GODS Once Bitten sounds AMAZING - give that to me in both soap and candle forms! Pumpkin Chai latte, October Road, and Autumn apple fest also sound right up my alley; and I think I'd love those as candles...but I won't turn down soaps, lol.

are you interested in eco-friendly menstrual products? LORDY YES. I've actually been trying to find some more reusable pads!

Bath and Body Works? I know this is a bit of a love em or hate em company, but I really love their foaming hand soaps and scented hand sanitizers and my kids like their body wash, so I'll be placing an order with the next good sale. Anything that catches your eye? LMAO BBW discontinued all of my favorite products and scents. (give me back my warm milk and honey foam bath, and the sleep aromatherapy line in lavender cedarwood!!) Though I am eyeing that old fashioned cider donut candle....

I'm making homemade applesauce this weekend with apples I picked last weekend. I'm going to try my hand at canning for the first time (got my mom, the experienced canner, on speed dial lol) If I succeed would you like a jar? Sure! I'd love to partake in your success.

  11. Ring/jewelry size? 9/9.5 :) and I love chokers and super long necklaces and not so much the mid length

fall treat? My favorite fall treat is probably hot apple cider yum!!!!

Are you more interested in a spiritual service you haven't mentioned practicing yourself, or would you prefer to receive something you do practice? Do you have a preference for if it's provided in writing/placed in thepackage vs over a skype/phone call?  No preference to the type of spiritual services but leaning away from Skype or phone call ever so Slightly because of my social squickyness

For item no.5, what kind of thing would you most appreciate?

I love beautiful things and antique items, can be anything unique and from the heart :)

Anything in particular you're interested in from the UK?  omg! I love British biscuits, anything interesting or “strange” (it’s all relative) I’m all over it :)

Any interest in apothecary style indies, e.g. essential oils, natural skincare, flower waters?

    heck yes!!

What is it that you're most wanting out of this fall season? (e.g. that could require magical assistance)

Smooth sailing for grad school, a cleaner (more organized really) home, and success at work!

Books. Are you a big reader? If so, do you prefer ebooks, audio, or printed? Would you enjoy an art or photography book? Do you like poetry?
yes I love books! Love poetry and art as well!! I prefer print books

Is there anything typically sold at a Renn Faire that you'd be interested in?
i love small daggers, pouches, and long dresses with flowy sleeves, and cloaks omg

Candles. Any preferences? Taper/Pillar/Votive/Jar/Chime/etc.? Scented vs Unscented?

all of the above and scented. A highly decorative unscented candle is also amazing

Are there any types of makeup/nail polish that you would or would not like to receive?
i use dark nail polishes and black eyeliner, mascara and rouge frequently and pressed powder 😚

Is there anything you definitely DON'T want (either because you don't like it or already have it)?

    cant think of anything!!!

Are there any art/craft supplies you currently need?

will come back to this one, :) can’t think of anything now —- back! Polymer clay in unique colors,

If I were to knit you an adornment would you prefer a hat, fingerless mitts, a cowl, or a shawlette (small shawl, worn like a scarf.)

If yes, are you ok with soft wool (I have mostly merino)?  What colors would you prefer?

i love love wool, soft wool, and fingerless mittens. :) and I love blues and greens but also I love any beautiful colors, purples etc.

Do you have a wishlist for BPAL perfume / gloss / atmosphere sprays?

i do love hair gloss and atmos. Longing for dead leaves and blueberry cream. As well as hair glosses in the pie flavors!!!!!!! Banana cream pie +key lime pie gloss are top priority. Very open to trying

Are you interested in a sewn or knitted tarot bag?

Yes! I have a deck that would love a bag home!

Would you like to sample our home made liqueurs?  (Rosepetal and/or lavender vanilla bean and/or plum)

yes!!!! Personally I made elderberry liqueur and Japanese plum liqueur and would love to share As well. Love homemade liqueurs!!

How about jams?  (peach, huckleberry, cardamom plum, cardamom/cinnamon/clove plum, anise plum, ginger jalapeno peach)

YUM YUM to homemade jams. No restrictions besides if it’s so hot it will burn my mouth but most jalapeños in sweets that I have had is very manageable.

Other canned goods?  (green tomato relish, chokecherry jelly)

    Heck yes!!!!!

    Fudge?

     Also a heck yes!

    Lemon blueberry zucchini bread?

also yes sounds so good!! Love lemon anything

  12. FIRST QUESTION:  what sizes do you wear for jewelry purposes - rings, etc.

My answer - I wrote this in my questions.

Oh dear! I don't know my ring size - I rarely wear rings as I work with my hands (former seamstress turned mail carrier). My wrist measures around 6.5", I prefer shorter necklaces to longer ones and I have 9 holes in my ears so earrings (esp big wacky statement ones) are always welcome.

Question: what's your favorite fall food based treat?

mine is anything apple, esp hot spiced cider. Runners up include pumpkin/chocolate or pumpkin/cranberry baked goods.

Are you more interested in a spiritual service you haven't mentioned practicing yourself, or would you prefer to receive something you do practice? Do you have a preference for if it's provided in writing/placed in the package vs over a skype/phone call?

I always enjoy trying new things, and in the past have enjoyed having my tarot read or other similar divinations. I would probably prefer written (or even photos and writing) because my work schedule is really heavy and I'm not usually interested in talking to people in after hours.

For item no.5, what kind of thing would you most appreciate?

This is a tough one, but one the best things about this type of swap is being surprised with things I did really know about to even want. I always appreciate things that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing as well as food/tea, housewares or clothing items. I particularly enjoying receiving items that were handmade.

Anything in particular you're interested in from the UK?

Have I mentioned tea and food yet? Lol. But really, I'm a huge Anglophile and love many many british things. I've heard tell of a few mythical items like gluten free jaffa cakes and crumpets that you can't get stateside for neither love nor money. I'm also a fan of LOTS of british telly, esp. panel shows and Taskmaster, so related items that aren't available in the US would be neat.

Any interest in apothecary style indies, e.g. essential oils, natural skincare, flower waters?

Of course! My fav apothecary/natural skincare vendor is LBCC historical (you'll see her in my Etsy favs), she makes all kinds of historically based skincare goodies. I'm also open to trying new vendors or homemade as well, I just have to avoid the florals. Orange Blossom seems to be okay at least from LBCC, but I can't do things like rose or lavender.

What is it that you're most wanting out of this fall season? (e.g. that could require magical assistance)

Honestly, I'm almost 3 months in at a new job as a postal carrier that is already fairly stressful and is going to get a lot more so over the next several months. What I'd love is some peace/rest,  some more skills for or support for overcoming stress and generally conquering chaos and making it my bitch.

Books. Are you a big reader? If so, do you prefer ebooks, audio, or printed? Would you enjoy an art or photography book? Do you like poetry?

I am a classic former bookworm. I spent 90% of my childhood reading and now as an adult rarely devote time to it despite still loving books deeply. Lately I've been reading A LOT of webtoons/web comics since they are in nice small digestible bits. I also use audio books when I sew, but I haven't been sewing since starting the new job. I'd love an art or photography book. As for poetry, I'm pretty particular and generally prefer prose.

Is there anything typically sold at a Renn Faire that you'd be interested in?

The better questions would be is there anything I wouldn't be interested in. I'm a fantasy nerd at heart - those books I was talking about reading as a kid? ALL of them were fantasy or historical fiction. So yeah, costumes, jewelry, tankards, swords. You name it, I would be interested.

Candles. Any preferences? Taper/Pillar/Votive/Jar/Chime/etc.? Scented vs Unscented?

hmm..probably votive? I live in a smallish apartment so we don't really light candles that often. I don't even light the menorah anymore because the only really safe space is on top of the stove which feels weird somehow.

Are there any types of makeup/nail polish that you would or would not like to receive?

I like lipstains/lipsticks a lot and eyeshadow/eyeliner, but I don't wear much else makeup wise outside of cosplay. I don't wear nailpolish because the mail is both filthy and really hard on your hands. I got a dip manicure early in my job and it didn't even last a full day intact!

Is there anything you definitely DON'T want (either because you don't like it or already have it)?

I'm not a fan of white chocolate, but that's all I can really think of that I would definitely not want, and even if some turned up my partner would eat it happily.

Are there any art/craft supplies you currently need?

Good lord, no. My craft room overfloweth and with me not actively working on new projects the last thing I need is more stuff.

    NEW QUESTION

     Homemade treats...any likes and preferences??

AND YES, I am also wanting to know what flavor/s of fudge you would love to get if I happen to be your Adept ;)

I'm not big on fudge usually because its typically too sweet for me - i prefer dark chocolate (70% cocoa or above) so if its dark and not too sweet, particularly with things like dried fruit - cranberries or raspberries - and or nuts other than peanuts I'd be interested. Otherwise for homemade treats things like cookies, candied/dried fruits/peel, truffles, most baked goods (if gf), teas, jams, pickles.

Quick question for the group: What are your thoughts on sweet treats? If you like them, what are your favorites? And what is one that you consider extra special?

i like sweet treats! I've already talked about what kind of foods/homemade treats I like but I can always talk about food more 😂 this time of year I like caramel apples but can't eat chewy caramel lumps because of my teeth. I like rice crispy treats and midnight milky ways too. For an extra special treat its always macaron. They taste amazing and I get to pretend I'm extra fancy.

    NEW QUESTIONS

If I were to knit you an adornment would you prefer a hat, fingerless mitts, a cowl, or a shawlette (small shawl, worn like a scarf.)

If yes, are you ok with soft wool (I have mostly merino)?  What colors would you prefer?

Ooh, probably fingerless mitts - since I'll be outdoors all winter and using my hands. Wool is amazing imo, one of my favorite fibers so no worries there. My top color choice would be green but blue would mean I can wear them for work since they'd go with my postal uniform.

Do you have a wishlist for BPAL perfume / gloss / atmosphere sprays?

I do! I'm pretty sure its already in !y questionnaire and my Sig so I'll skip adding it here too.

Are you interested in a sewn or knitted tarot bag?

Not particularly. I sew myself and I don't actually own a tarot deck. (I've been trying to get my hands on Fyodor Pavlov's new deck but haven't been able to snag one yet)

Would you like to sample our home made liqueurs?  (Rosepetal and/or lavender vanilla bean and/or plum)

Plum, yes please. No to the others because floral.

How about jams?  (peach, huckleberry, cardamom plum, cardamom/cinnamon/clove plum, anise plum, ginger jalapeno peach)

The first four sound delicious. I'm not a huge anise fan and can't do much spice so I'd pass on the last 2.

Other canned goods?  (green tomato relish, chokecherry jelly)

    sure!

    Fudge?

I've addressed this above I think.

    Lemon blueberry zucchini bread?

If its gf! I love anything lemon. I'm of two minds about blueberries (my sister once vommed several pints all over me as kids) but this sounds yummy so it gets a pass.

The Paintbox Soapworks Weenie collection went live today! Would you like anything?

The Pickety Witch is taking pre-orders for their new Halloween pins (estimated ship date: early September). Have any caught your eye?

Ok I know I said I have too many pins, HOWEVER, how-ev-er, I would definitely love the cat on a broom or May King pin, my goodness.

Zeep's Spooky Collection drops some time next week. Here's the scent list. Would you like any wax melts, candles, whipped soaps, sugar whips (whipped soap/scrub hybrid), body butter sugar scrubs (moisturizing scrub), meringues (lotion), bath bombs, or bath rocks from Zeep?

Never heard of this shop either! I have a wax burner, and I love a leaf/pumpkin/bonfire home scent, so fire away with any of those (Fall Eats and Pumpkin Queen and Beetlegeuse  caught my eye for sure).

Does anyone here like vintage halloween?
Yes! Especially Victorian/Art Nouveau-y stuff. Love cats, ghosts, skeletons, bats.

Not really a fandom person, so no thank you!

How do you feel about oracle decks? Never heard of them! Will stick with tarot for the time being.

Would you like witchy/ritual oils/sundries? Any limitations (e.g. deities you won't work with)? I'd love a little dish/plate for candles. I've also had my eye on some of the notebooks from Haute Macabre (https://haute-macabre.myshopify.com/collections/accoutrement/products/femina-ferox-notebook-by-open-sea-design-co)... really anything from HM is a safe bet.

My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags.  Do you love anything from it?  Not particularly -- they're neat! But I have a pile of empty makeup + knitting bags waiting to be filled with stuff.

Shoes: Size 5, but I am pretty overshoed at the moment and picky always. I will never say no to socks or slippers, though!

These are my questions, which I am also answering, because why not:

Would you like a palm stone, or anything else, from Haute Macabre? I love all of HM's site and have some of their stones (grey moonstone, garnet, labradorite), but am always happy to receive other special rocks and books from them.

What's your favorite flower(s)? Orchids and peonies!

What's you favorite woodland creature? All of them, even the bugs. But if I had to choose I'd say owls and chipmunks :)

Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)? Don't mind at all: whatever is easiest for you!

Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape?  Sure! Dome, please (Also, I have a small face/head)

And back to other folks' questions:

I have a literal stockpile of skincare products.  Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.?  Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type?

I have pretty oily skin, so anything that exfoliates would be nice! I enjoy samples.

Anything from here?  ChocolateStorybook on Etsy

Cotton Candy!!!! Anything except the banana one for sure

I have been enjoying the incense from here hand-dipped incense sticks | Hexennacht and here Hand-dipped incense sticks | Mr. Hex (mr-hex.com)  Any thing interesting from either site? I can get a little sneezy with some kinds of incense, so I will pass.

    8/16/21

Would you like some delicious coffee? If so, do you prefer whole bean or ground? If ground, what grind? Also, light or dark roast? Flavor preferences?

Oooooh yes! Espresso ground only please; I don't have a grinder. I like coffee-flavored coffee but will try fancy flavors in small quantities, light to medium roast 😛

    8/17/21

I may be going to the Renaissance Fair this weekend (if not this weekend then soon and multiple times), any Ren Faire goodies you may like?

Oh fun!! I miss fairs of all kinds... I realize that you have already gone and come back from the fair, but, in case it's helpful anyhow a fun pen, perhaps? Or a brooch/hair comb?

I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things?

Am always happy to receive pickles and interesting spices/oils. No dog treats, though.

Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies?  Very slight preference for numbered packages but please don't knock yourself out if that's too much!

If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit? I think I did, but will add a few more thoughts! I really love history books, though I have a toooon of books on Rome and Britain. I love non-fic nature/ecology books as well. I also love older sci fi, especially short story collections. I've been on a Virginia Woolf and Daphne DuMaurier kick lately, so anything by them/similar except Rebecca, To the Lighthouse, or Mrs. Dalloway would surely be enjoyed.

Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters? Meh! If I got them I bet I would try them, but I'm not a big cocktail maker at home.

    8/18/21

Is there something that you definitely prefer to not receive in any category (anything to avoid if you hadn't/forgotten to mention)? Not that I can think of!

Are there patterns/prints (more guidance than general Halloween/Autumn) you like for things or are you open to whatever I may find that speaks to me? I dearly love a good plaid, and a realistic floral.

Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? I am making up the cocoa part, but you get my drift. I have a husband! Coincidentally he loves hot cocoa, so.

I would love to request folks to to put their wish list in this thread and link in their signature. I would love to decant from my oils if I have any my person is looking for!  Done!

If you happened to list some favorite fandoms earlier, would you also name your favorite character(s) from those fandoms? Not a big fandom person!

    8/19/21

Do you have an Amazon link?  Can you post it?? I don't!

if you are a knitter/crocheter, are you over on Ravelry?  If so, what’s your user name there?? I am, hooray! @rhonorv

    8/20/21

I make homemade fire ciders, would that be of interest? Non-alcoholic and they are quite fiery. Sure!!

Are you interested in getting other BPAL items besides perfume, like hair gloss, bath oils or T-shirts? Big yes to bath oils, have never had the pleasure! No thanks to t-shirts, and HG decants are welcome!

    8/21/21

So partner, would you be interested in a Frankenbag done in Halloween prints? No thank you

Y'all with furbabies... Are there any food allergies/sensitivities or quirks to know about? Two of cats are pretty particular about food/treats with their panoply of old-cat GI complaints, but the other two are sturdy. They all love cat nip and silver vine.

how do you feel about (ethically sourced) butterfly / moth art (in a jar or shadowbox) Would love! I have a small butterfly shadowbox on my wall right now :)

I may have preemptively picked out 2 Halloween-themed mugs with cute matching spoons, before I knew who my match was going to be! So I leave it to you: Bat, or Cat? Cat!!!

    8/22/21

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass? No aversions!

Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)? Sure to the romantic neutrals!

    8/23/21

I live in Japan. Oh!! Matcha Kit Kats!!!!! Any kind of printed fabric I could make into a scarf or headband would also be delightful :D

there is an excellent chance teeturtle will have a sale in time for this swap: anything (particularly tshirts or socks) that appeal? Sizes?  Socks welcome! I'm a size 5 shoe. I've got way too many t-shirts :) I love all of these:

Haus of Gloi Fall Part 1 drops soon, anything here you like? https://www.hausofgloi.com/blogs/blog/fall-lineup-2021 I've never tried this house! Persephone's Descent, Amethyst, and Spider Silk are the scents that most appeal to me. All the lip balms look great too.

    8/24/21

Could you use a journal or sketchbook? For sure!!

Do you need BPAL storage?  Imps?  Bottles? Imp storage would be really nice!! I have about 40 that are in all different little cardboard jewelry boxes...

Do you wear socks?  What kind?  No show, ankle, knee high, over the knee?  Fibers? I do! All either ankle or calf-height (for boots). I prefer thinner socks (cotton/rayon)

Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too!  That's such a cute idea! I love Werthers and raisinets. Am also a fan of tea, especially rooiboses

I'm going down the Shore for a few days! Any treats you'd like from a cute beach town- salt water taffy? Fudge? Wrist fans? Tie-dye beach dress...? Big yes to taffy or fudge!

How do you feel about fancy marshmallows? Pretty good!

    8/25/21

We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour?  Any kind sound good to me!!

Anything from these Etsy shops? Grave Markings I love! No ty to the others :)

What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop? Oh ho ho, anything there is a safe bet for me!

    8/27/21

I grow mugwort and it's harvest season. Would you like dried leaves for bathing or tea? Or a bound bundle for smoke cleansing? (Its said to be excellent for divination or lucid dreaming, but do not use if pregnant.)  its also a digestive bitter and tastes great on chicken. No thank you!

I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others? Love mint! Would happily try any of the listed dried, edible herbs.

I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest? No thanks!

Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like. YES! I am generally interested in any natural artifacts from places where I don't live (leaves, feathers, shells, stones).

I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios) Sure!!

I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some? Also sure!

    8/28/21

Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)?  (see photo here) No thank you!

If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in? I enjoy Dominion (have the base game), Pandemic (have the Cthulu version), and Catan (don't have a copy of my own), and I like trying new board/card games too!

    8/29/21

DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES?  DO I EVER!!!!! TRULY A LOT.

DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING? I've never had one but I love random magazines and backing, so yes!

If you are enthused by the idea of receiving coffee, do you want whole bean or ground? AND do you have flavors that you like (or definitely hate and never want again)? Ground, espresso if possible please! Will try small amounts of any flavor, but I prefer regular coffee.

    8/30/21

Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? There are Halloween patterns, but also most colours under the sun, and are very comfy. Sure!! Kind of low on tights right now, actually, and I wear a small + am pretty short (5'2") if length is an option.

What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level? Sure -- Mild to medium spicy works!

In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals. All plushies will be requisitioned by the cats of the house, so anything safe for them is fine :) I don't collect them myself..

The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? (It's not just nail polish...there's jewelry and bath scrubs and wax tarts and all manner of things. It's fun!) https://polishpickup.com/ Nothing jumps out!

    8/31/21

Anything here sound good to you? https://gryffonridge.com/ Oh cool!! The seafood blends and sugars all look amazing.

Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers.  Do any spark your interest? Nope!

So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy? Hail Satan, so sure! My line is like, actual stuff in formaldehyde (mainly because of Cat Breakage Risk). Love skeletons and bones. Shmeh on creepy dolls.

do you use any sorts of semipermanent dyes or do anything fun/wild to your hair? are there any hair products you like? I'm pretty boring on the dye front, though I do love silk/satin scarves and ribbons for braids!

what about skincare? i am pretty into k beauty and am curious if others are interested in any aspects of this. I'd definitely try sample sizes of some K-beauty! I used to visit a shop regularly (that has since closed :,( ) that was all K-Beauty and it was the best. Love me some snail mucin/bee venom.

Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.'s Halloween & Fall collection is out (https://cellardoorbathsupply.com/collections/halloween-fall-collection anything you might be interested in?

Oh, I just ordered some Once Bitten soap and a candle, so I'll pass!! haha

Regarding tea, what type of tea do you prefer? Black tea, green tea, herbal tea? Any type of tea you really don’t enjoy?

Rooibos and basic green and Paris from Harney and Sons are my favorites. I also love fruity teas (I make them into iced tea!)

    9/4/21

are you interested in eco-friendly menstrual products? There are some beautiful gothic print reuseable pads I'm looking at specifically.

    No thanks!

    9/6/21

Bath and Body Works? I know this is a bit of a love em or hate em company, but I really love their foaming hand soaps and scented hand sanitizers and my kids like their body wash, so I'll be placing an order with the next good sale. Anything that catches your eye?

They unfortunately often make me sneeze :,(

    9/14/21

I'm making homemade applesauce this weekend with apples I picked last weekend. I'm going to try my hand at canning for the first time (got my mom, the experienced canner, on speed dial lol) If I succeed would you like a jar?

    Heck yes! Good luck!

    9/22/21

How do you feel about sniffies?

    Just fine!

  13. I don't do layering a whole ton but here's some descriptions of ones I have done.

Splatter Comedy, Formula SGHAN3: Birthday Cake, Snow Bunny '08, Pop! - A cinnamon cake left out in a forest and covered in snow

Dead Leaves and Coffee Beans, The Kingdom of Sweets, Peppermint Cream Cupcake, Do You Like Clowns? - The Witch's house from Hansel and Gretel in the fall after she added fresh peppermints and gumdrops

  14. 8/8/21

Would you be interested in a cross stitched Halloween ornament?

That would be awesome! I have a Halloween tree (I'll take a photo when I put it up this year!). I love bats, cats, corvids, woodland creatures, pumpkins, and ghosts! But no spiders, please!

    8/11/21

Are there any collage artists in the mix?   I would LOVE to curate one of spooky autumn goodness if my person were to be interested!

I am not really a very crafty person -- decorated altoid tins are about the extent of my craftiness -- but I always love artisjok's collaged bubble mailers and wouldn't mind giving it a try if I could use it for that sort of swap purpose.

Have you seen the Dragon con list?  & would any of them appeal to you?

I've already got a fairy for the 3 scents that interest me.

Which Harry Potter house are you?

Ravenclaw, but I echo Em-'s sentiments on this one. At the moment, I cannot bring myself to wear any of my Harry Potter clothes or display any of my Potter things. I don't even want non-licensed stuff. I just don't want to have anything to do with anything Harry Potter-related right now because JKR's transphobia infuriates me.

    8/12/21

Do you like any art from these two sellers? They are local artists and I will probably pick up some stuff for myself soon!
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMcCarthyArt
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/BatinYourBelfry

The pumpkin sticker from the second shop is cute!

I make beautiful and very lightweight yarn-and-ribbon hairfalls - would you like a set in the colors and length of your choice? If yes, name up to four colors and length in inches! Remember- this can be part of your Halloween costume! I don't really do much with my hair, but I'd be down to try them out!

Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers?

    No, thank you!

Do you like stickers? Patches? Buttons?

    Yes to all!

Do you spend time in the outdoors?

Not really. I go for walks in the park once the sun has set, and that's about it.

Do you enjoy cooking and/or baking?

Yes, but baking (from scratch! no pre-made baking mixes, please!) more than cooking, even though I tend to do more of the latter. It's about to the perfect time of year for baking, though!

The Paintbox Soapworks Weenie collection went live today! Would you like anything?

I love Fairytale and am also interested in Guy Fawkes, Hiraeth, Once For Yes, Twice For No in mini scrubs or wax.

The Pickety Witch is taking pre-orders for their new Halloween pins (estimated ship date: early September). Have any caught your eye?

I'm going to order the goat holding the candy and the pumpkin teapot with the ghost. :P I already have one similar to the cat one (but cuter).

I will be placing by biggest Zeep order ever, as there's tons I'm interested in and several things I'm ordering as gifts. So Zeep is best avoided in my case, because I won't be showing any restraint!

Does anyone here like vintage halloween?

    Vintage Halloween is awesome!

I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, the Addams Family, and The Munsters. I like Beetlejuice, but probably wouldn't want any Beetlejuice-related things. I have mini ornaments of Jack and Zero, Sally, Lock, Shock, and Barrel on my Halloween tree, as well as a huge bulb-like Jack Skellington ornament. I would love an individual Zero ornament! I also have a pumpkin Nightmare Before Christmas tree topper. I'm going to go buy this some time within the next few days as I have a Hallmark store close by, but their other Halloween ornaments this year are disappointing. I think the only other Peanuts Halloween ornament I have features Snoopy wearing a pumpkin costume. My boyfriend and I always try to switch up with movies and shows we watch every year, but The Great Pumpkin is a Halloween tradition for me.

How do you feel about atmospheric/novelty scents and novelty food items? Things like "new car candle" or "eyeball jawbreaker" or whatever.

    No, thank you!

If you like tea, how do you want it delivered? Loose? Bags? Tiny little messenger pigeons (subject to availability)?

I prefer loose leaf tea, but I still will drink bagged tea when it gets sent my way. Pigeon delivery, pls.

Would you prefer to receive ONE HUGE (more expensive) GIFT and 12 inexpensive ones, a few more expensive, or all about the same price?

I would like whoever is putting together my package to do what is easiest on them, but I know I like to try to make a more varied package myself -- a few more expensive things interspersed with several less expensive ones.

What are your fandoms, if any?

I have many fandoms! I'm a Whovian, although I haven't been happy with the last several seasons of Doctor Who due to the writing (even pre-Chibnall). iZombie and Orphan Black are done, but I loved those shows. I love The Great British Baking Show. I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli, and some of my favorites are My Neighbor Totoro, Whisper of the Heart, Grave of the Fireflies (10/10 but would not see again because it is the most depressing movie ever -- we went in knowing nothing beforehand during Fathom Events' Ghibli Fest one year, and everyone in the theater was sobbing afterwards), and Howl's Moving Castle. I've been super into anime over the past year, and some of my favorites include xxxHolic (I'm now reading the manga), Fruits Basket (2019), Fairy Tail (it's a comfort shonen that may not have the best writing, but I love many of the characters -- I'm reading the sequel manga, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest), YuYu Hakusho, Azumanga Daioh... I could go on! I recently watched Shojo Revolutionary Girl Utena, and I still can't get over how amazing the music from that anime is! I'm currently watching and enjoying Bleach and Ruroni Kenshin. :cthulhu:

Do you collect things like tarot decks?  If so do you have a wish list or a list of ones you already have?  Would you like a silk tarot bag?

I have The Nightmare Before Christmas tarot deck and The Shadowspaces tarot deck. I'm content with the decks I have for now, but I wouldn't say no to a silk tarot bag!

Do you like rocks/crystals?  What colors / kinds?  Would you like them with holes drilled (either as a pendant - you'd need to stick a bale in, or a bead?)

No, thank you! I don't dislike them, but wearable would be preferred, and I just received a really lovely amethyst bracelet from the amazing HerbGirl and do not wear jewelry often enough to warrant another item like this.

My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags.  Do you love anything from it?  We can also do box bags, draw string bags, dice bags, etc. and if you want a different type of material or a different fabric pattern, I'm open to links to specific things.   (yes, we have harry potter things.  We bought most of it before JKR showed herself to be a twat since we buy lots of bolts at the same time - yes, we have a whole room stuffed full of fabric.)

THE YIP YIP MARTIANS. OMGGGGG 😭 *adds to Etsy wishlist*

A dice bag would be useful. I like the NBC and black kitty pumpkin designs.

Let's say you want something knitted.  What are you most interested in?  (hat, fingerless mitts, scarf, shawl, cowl, infinity scarf, shawlette, gnome, doily, coffee mug cozy, talisman bag, dice bag, soap sack, washcloth (I have a pattern with the leviathan cross for bpal), amigurumi / toy, bracelet, cuff, necklace, other?)   (Can you link to a photo of what you envision or a pattern on ravelry?  Or put it on pinterest or something if you have that.)

Fingerliss mitts, arm warmers, and amigurumi in a character from one of my fandoms would be lovely.

    * What colors would you prefer said knitted object in? If it is fingerless mitts or armwarmers, either something purple, black, grey, green, or Halloween-y or in BPAL colors!

    * Stripes, gradient, semi solid, variegated? No preference!

    * What type of yarn would you prefer?  ("wool", BFL, merino, merino/silk, merino/silk/cashmere, merino/cashmere, just silk, just cashmere, tencel (non-animal, plant based), other?   I also have non-dyed organic wool (mill spun) from our own sheep - finnsheep and shetland.  The finnsheep is dark brown (sun bleached black sheep from Sarge and our two black ewes we can't tell apart so they're ewe 1 and ewe 2) or a lighter silvery beige (from freckles) and the shetland is white.  (we just call her shetland.  They're mom's sheep, she should have named them, lol.)  Most of my stripy yarn is either merino or merino cashmere.) No preference!

You can check out some of my finished projects on Ravelry if you like (click on the project for more photos)  (I'll have to make a list of which items are available  because I knit a lot of things and then just put them in a cabinet and gift or sell them.)

Are you interested in receiving any of the following homemade / home dried / home canned goodies?  (just erase the ones you don't want when you answer to make it easy?)

(see list in this post under spoiler because long)

    8/16/21

How do you feel about oracle decks?

    No, thank you!

Would you like witchy/ritual oils/sundries? Any limitations (e.g. deities you won't work with)?

Aside from any TAL decants on my wishlist, no thank you!

Is there anything you would like to try from the UK specifically? (e.g. Lush exclusives)

Cadbury Crunchie or Double Decker bars.

Oh, and are you into astrology?

Not really, I'm more into astrology memes.  This one was my favorite that I've come across. I'm a Taurus sun, Taurus moon, Leo rising.

What size shoe do you wear (inc wide/narrow, etc)?

It varies. I'd say 5.5, but it depends on the width of the shoe... sometimes I have to size up even if the shoe is too big for me because 5 or 5.5 is not wide enough. I dread going shoe shopping and would not like to receive shoes, but socks, even if they are technically too big for my shoe size, are appreciated. My grandmother was Okinawan, and I inherited small feet and a shuffle walk from her.

Do you like/would you want to receive comic books? Any favorite genres or characters?

Not comic books, but manga! I have a few manga on my Amazon wishlist. I like more character-driven stuff.

Would you like a palm stone, or anything else, from Haute Macabre?

    No, thank you!

    What's your favorite flower(s)?

I really like yellow flowers like daffodils.

    What's you favorite woodland creature?

It's too hard to say! I love owls, foxes, squirrels, hedehogs, raccoons, rabbits, tweeting birds... DO NOT MAKE ME CHOOSE. If it is cute, I will love it.

Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)?

Shipping directly from a vendor to me is fine, but you may want to ask someone to poke me to check the mail. I do not check it every day.

Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape?

Face masks are appreciated! I prefer a pleated shape. I have a small nose, so the other shape doesn't have a good fit and falls off easily unless there is a wire in the nose part to make it fit better. (Note: I already have all of the face mask and glove sets from Voltaire's webshop and one from his society6 store.)

I have a literal stockpile of skincare products.  Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.?  Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type?

I'd be potentially interested in some moisturizer samples, provided they are from cruelty-free companies. I have combination skin but it leans more towards dry than oily because I do not sweat on my face.

Anything from here?  ChocolateStorybook on Etsy

No, thank you! I like smelling like cotton candy more than I like eating it.

I have been enjoying the incense from here hand-dipped incense sticks | Hexennacht and here Hand-dipped incense sticks | Mr. Hex (mr-hex.com)  Any thing interesting from either site?

No, thank you! I am more into candles and wax melts. However, I am curious about the new Hexennacht scent Dreamweaver as a perfume oil. I am sure it would work for me with those notes, but I won't be placing any Hexennacht orders for the foreseeable future, unless the atmo options change, because I don't want to just place an order for one thing.

    8/16/21

Would you like some delicious coffee? If so, do you prefer whole bean or ground? If ground, what grind? Also, light or dark roast? Flavor preferences?

No, thank you! I like coffee, but it hates me.

    8/17/21

I may be going to the Renaissance Fair this weekend (if not this weekend then soon and multiple times), any Ren Faire goodies you may like?

Ah, I miss going to those! I can't think of anything in particular, but if you see something you think I'd like, I am sure I will!

I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things?

    Honey. 🍯

Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies?

No preference! Do whatever you'd like to do!

If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit?

I enjoy fiction, sci-fi, manga, and cookbooks, but I'm mostly just into manga right now and haven't been able to finish other books I've started. I am currently reading xxxHolic (I received the complete set for my birthday back in May) and Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest (the chapters release bi-weekly, but I do not own the volumes on my Amazon wishlist and would like to own physical copies of them). After watching Fruits Basket (2019), Fruits Basket (2001), and the 2019 version again, I'd really love to start reading the manga, but the first volume of the collector's edition is out of stock on Amazon. I think Barnes and Noble has it, but it is more expensive than some of the other books on my wishlist. Favorite authors: Lewis Carroll, A. A. Milne, and Douglas Adams.

Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters?

    No, thank you!

Is there something that you definitely prefer to not receive in any category (anything to avoid if you hadn't/forgotten to mention)?

I do not have any more room in my cupboards for mugs, so please do not send any. 😭

Are there patterns/prints (more guidance than general Halloween/Autumn) you like for things or are you open to whatever I may find that speaks to me?

    I like Beetlejuice-like stripes.

Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? I am making up the cocoa part, but you get my drift.

That would be fine! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating five years together this weekend. :)

I would love to request folks to to put their wish list in this thread and link in their signature. I would love to decant from my oils if I have any my person is looking for!

My wishlist is up to date and in my signature!

If you happened to list some favorite fandoms earlier, would you also name your favorite character(s) from those fandoms?

Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) is my favorite Doctor, but I also love the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker), the Third Doctor (John Pertwee), and the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy).

    iZombie: Ravi

    Orphan Black: Helena

Fairy Tail: Erza, Natsu, and Frosch. Honorable mention to Gray.

xxxHolic: Everyone, but especially Mokona Modoki and the Pipe Fox.

Fruits Basket: DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE. Kyo, Hanajima, Haru, and Momiji are up there, though.

YuYu Hakusho: Kurama/Yoko Kurama and Hiei

Ghibli: Totoro, soot sprites, cute animals/mascots

    Azumanga Daioh: Sakaki

    8/19/21

Do you have an Amazon link?  Can you post it??
    Here it is!

if you are a knitter/crocheter, are you over on Ravelry?  If so, what’s your user name there??

    I am not a knitter/crocheter!

    8/20/21

I make homemade fire ciders, would that be of interest? Non-alcoholic and they are quite fiery.

No, thank you! My body can't handle super acidic/spicy things.

Are you interested in getting other BPAL items besides perfume, like hair gloss, bath oils or T-shirts?

I would be, buuuut I have a lot of all of those things, so it would probably be difficult to get me something that I don't already have in these categories.

So partner, would you be interested in a Frankenbag done in Halloween prints?

I would be down for this!

Y'all with furbabies... Are there any food allergies/sensitivities or quirks to know about?

My cat is a very picky eater and has to have his treats and food changed up every month because he gets tired of eating the same things. He does not like salmon or shrimp treats and seems to do well with Orijen and Purebites. One quirk he has is that, after his brother passed away, he became a social eater and likes to be petted while he is eating. He will wake me up in the middle of the night to do this.

how do you feel about (ethically sourced) butterfly / moth art (in a jar or shadowbox)

    No, thank you!

I may have preemptively picked out 2 Halloween-themed mugs with cute matching spoons, before I knew who my match was going to be! So I leave it to you: Bat, or Cat?

I love both cats and bats, but I seriously have no more room in my cupboard for any more mugs. :(

    8/22/21

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass?

If it's something like a kid-friendly spider on a window cling, I'll allow it, but for the most part, I veto every Halloween thing I see online or at the store with a spider on it. :P

Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)?

No, thank you! I rarely wear make-up (I didn't even wear it to the Voltaire show because I couldn't find my main make-up bag since I haven't worn any since February 2020 :ack: ), so while I would be okay with a standalone shadow, a palette would not get much use by me and would be better suited for another person.

    8/23/21

I live in Japan.

I would love merch from any of my favorite anime, I'm always down for Japanese snacks -- I know I listed a ton either on my questionnaire or in my answers, but in addition to trying to try as many Pocky, Pejoy, and Pretz flavors as possible, I also really love Okinawan matcha Chinsuko. I always enjoy trying the different Kit Kat flavors. Some of the Kit Kat flavors I already have or have tried are: Cherry Blossom, Cherry Blossom Sake, Hojicha, Matcha, Yuzu Matcha, Strawberry Tiramisu, Red Bean Bun, and the White Chocolate ones. We have a lot of chopsticks, but I wouldn't say no to another cute pair.

In the meantime- there is an excellent chance teeturtle will have a sale in time for this swap: anything (particularly tshirts or socks) that appeal? Sizes?

I like the Spellbound socks, Boba Fox socks, Spooky Kitty socks, and Don't Make Me Hex You socks.

Also, the Haus of Gloi Fall Part 1 drops soon, anything here you like?

Not from Fall Part 1 (I still have a ton of Ghost Puffs pumpkin butter), but I would be down for an unscented pumpkin butter.

    8/24/21

Could you use a journal or sketchbook?

    No, thank you!

Do you need BPAL storage?  Imps?  Bottles?

I'm always down for BPAL bottle storage and recently picked up a faux book box at Homegoods to store bottles in (I posted it in the Every Day is Halloween thread).

Do you wear socks?  What kind?  No show, ankle, knee high, over the knee?  Fibers?

I love all socks! Knee-high are my favorite, but I also appreciate ankle socks, crew socks, thigh-highs, fuzzy socks, slipper socks... no preference on fibers.

Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too!

I love candy, but any of the candy I would enjoy for this purpose would either be cost-prohibitive (comes in small packages, like cola and ramune Hi-Chews) or would melt (fun-size candy bars). :(

I'm going down the Shore for a few days! Any treats you'd like from a cute beach town- salt water taffy? Fudge? Wrist fans? Tie-dye beach dress...?

I wouldn't say no to salt water taffy.

How do you feel about fancy marshmallows?

    They're delicious!

    8/25/21

We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour?

I'm not a big fan of gummies.

Anything from these Etsy shops? Kodiak Sea CharmsHalloween Hill StudioGrave Markings

No, thank you (although I technically should want the Black No. 1 pin as Type O fan, it's not really calling to me.

What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop?

    No, thank you!

I enjoy mugwort in perfume, like in BPAL's Hypnotize Me, but I haven't experienced it in another way! I would be down to try mugwort tea or maybe a sachet of mugwort. :)

I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others?

Mint, basil, oregano, or chives all sound wonderful!

I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest?

    No, thank you!

Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like.

No, thank you! I love birds, but I don't think I need any feathers. :)

I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios)

I've never tried it, but shiso pesto sounds delicious!

I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some?

    No, thank you!

    8/28/21

Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)?

I already own one of these, but I bought an extra at the Voltaire show just in case my match would like one. If not, I will either PIF it or include it in another swap. :)

If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in?

I think I went into detail about this in my questionnaire. *checks* I did, but I forgot to mention I own Gloom and several Gloom variants as well! If you're worried about whether or not I already own something, have Twi message me!

    8/29/21

DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES?

    No, that's not my thing.

DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING?

No, thank you! I'm not really a magazine person. The only exception I make is when one of the obscure German bands/musical artists I listen to releases an exclusive song on a CD included in issues of the German music magazine Sonic Seducer. :P

    8/30/21

Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? There are Halloween patterns, but also most colours under the sun, and are very comfy.

    Sure!

What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level?

Mango or mint chutney! Medium spice is the highest I go.

In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals.

I'd be down for small animals, as long as they aren't too big as I already own several stuffed animals.

The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? (It's not just nail polish...there's jewelry and bath scrubs and wax tarts and all manner of things. It's fun!)  https://polishpickup.com/

The pumpkin and cardamom soap sounds nice, but I'd be worried about it being too spice-heavy for my sensitive skin. :(

    8/31/21

Anything here sound good to you? https://gryffonridge.com/

Asafoetida Powder could be useful. I've been wanting to buy it to make the dal tadka from an Indian Instant Pot cookbook that I have.

Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers.  Do any spark your interest?

    No, thank you!

So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy?

I'm not into horror or gore. Of those things, I like goats, buuuuuut I really dislike creepy dolls.

do you use any sorts of semipermanent dyes or do anything fun/wild to your hair? are there any hair products you like?

I have been meaning to dye my hair red, but I already have the dye for that. I would appreciate a deep conditioning hair treatment, though!

what about skincare? i am pretty into k beauty and am curious if others are interested in any aspects of this.

Not really, although I wouldn't say no to a face mask or something moisturizing. :)

    9/2/21

Regarding tea, what type of tea do you prefer? Black tea, green tea, herbal tea? Any type of tea you really don’t enjoy?

White, green, and herbal teas. I don't like smoky teas, anything like licorice (anise, licorice root, fennel), or teas that are heavy on the rooibos or hibiscus.

Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.'s Halloween & Fall collection is out (https://cellardoorbathsupply.com/collections/halloween-fall-collection) anything you might be interested in?

Lavender Pumpkin soap or candle, Once Bitten soap or candle

    9/4/21

are you interested in eco-friendly menstrual products? There are some beautiful gothic print reuseable pads I'm looking at specifically.

No, thank you. I'm on continuous birth control because I'm anemic and can't afford to be having periods right now. (Although my body seems to be trying to have one anyways :@&*$!:)

    9/6/21

Bath and Body Works? I know this is a bit of a love em or hate em company, but I really love their foaming hand soaps and scented hand sanitizers and my kids like their body wash, so I'll be placing an order with the next good sale. Anything that catches your eye?

I'm normally indies only, I could use pocketbac hand sanitizer for my Globlin hand sanitizer dispenser, and I keep hearing good things about the Pumpkin Carving candle and have never had a three-wick candle and would like to give one a try.

    9/14/21

I'm making homemade applesauce this weekend with apples I picked last weekend. I'm going to try my hand at canning for the first time (got my mom, the experienced canner, on speed dial lol) If I succeed would you like a jar?

Yes, I'd be interested in one!

    9/22/21

How do you feel about sniffies? (Empty bottles or imps you can sniff but not enough to apply)

If they're wishlist items, I'd be happy to have them, but otherwise, I don't have the space for them! (I just gave away a bunch of OCYL bottles, partials, and decants because I had run out of space in my swap box.)

Would you be interested in a cross stitched Halloween ornament?  sure

    8/11/21

Are there any collage artists in the mix?   I would LOVE to curate one of spooky autumn goodness if my person were to be interested!   While I think this is a super cool idea, I stink at things like collage/scrapbooking, so probably not for me

Have you seen the Dragon con list?  & would any of them appeal to you?

Which Harry Potter house are you?  Hufflepuff with Ravenclaw leanings, though I'm another one that doesn't do licensed merch at this point

    8/12/21

Do you like any art from these two sellers? They are local artists and I will probably pick up some stuff for myself soon!
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMcCarthyArt
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/BatinYourBelfry

Very cool stuff but nothing I'd really display.

I make beautiful and very lightweight yarn-and-ribbon hairfalls - would you like a set in the colors and length of your choice? If yes, name up to four colors and length in inches! Remember- this can be part of your Halloween costume!

Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers?  LOVE.  No allergies to speak of, and I work with everything from fingering to superbulky depending on the project.  Colors are totally open, I use everything from undyed to super dark/bright, my only particular preference is non-scratchy.

Do you like stickers? Patches? Buttons?  Yes, but stickers tend to languish because I am terrible about committing to stick them somewhere.  I do love adorning my knapsack with buttons/pins, and I will probably start doing that to my work satchel as well.

Do you spend time in the outdoors?  Yep.  In my garden, on local park walks, occasional marked-trail hiking trips

Do you enjoy cooking and/or baking?  Both!

    8/13/21

The Paintbox Soapworks Weenie collection went live today! Would you like anything?  Hex on the Beach and Hiraeth I know I love, Nightwalker sounds interesting. Sugar scrubs and soap are most used, though I could probably use a lotion at work

The Pickety Witch is taking pre-orders for their new Halloween pins (estimated ship date: early September). Have any caught your eye? OMG I love this stuff!!!  Of the Weenie pins,  the Trick or Treat Goat is adorable, but I'm also drooling over the Lughnasadh Wolf Moon and Brigid's Wolf

The Mockingbird Lane body butter scrub sounds nice, or Ghost Stories, Harvest Festival,  Orchard Air, or Pep Rally sound interesting

    8/14/21

Does anyone here like vintage halloween? Not really my thing

Not a fandom person for the most part

How do you feel about atmospheric/novelty scents and novelty food items? Things like "new car candle" or "eyeball jawbreaker" or whatever.

If you like tea, how do you want it delivered? Loose? Bags? Tiny little messenger pigeons (subject to availability)? Loose or bags is good

Would you prefer to receive ONE HUGE (more expensive) GIFT and 12 inexpensive ones, a few more expensive, or all about the same price? I am totally fine with however my gifter wants to roll

What are your fandoms, if any? Nothing I'm really actively involved with

Do you collect things like tarot decks?  If so do you have a wish list or a list of ones you already have?  Would you like a silk tarot bag?  So far I only have a miniature deck, which I think is delightful but I haven't really learned how to read anything.  I do drool over some of the artwork out there, I just feel like I need to learn what to do with one first before I start collecting.

Do you like rocks/crystals?  What colors / kinds?  Would you like them with holes drilled (either as a pendant - you'd need to stick a bale in, or a bead?)  Yes, but mostly in a found-object sense, like if there's a cool rock from where you live or something.  I do rocks more from a look-at-it perspective than any kind of ritual thing. Geology was one of my favorite classes.

My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags.  Do you love anything from it?  We can also do box bags, draw string bags, dice bags, etc. and if you want a different type of material or a different fabric pattern, I'm open to links to specific things.   (yes, we have harry potter things.  We bought most of it before JKR showed herself to be a twat since we buy lots of bolts at the same time - yes, we have a whole room stuffed full of fabric.)  Confession:  I think I have three bags at this point--a little zippered Van Gogh Tardis, and two knit/crochet project bags, one in bare branches and crows, one with retro Daleks, and they are awesome.

Or put it on pinterest or something if you have that.)   gnome, washcloth, fingerless mitts  (I have a small collection of knitted things from bpalers and I adore and rotate through them all in cool weather)

    * What colors would you prefer said knitted object in?  for wearables, darker colors, I don't have a particular preference within that.

    * Stripes, gradient, semi solid, variegated?  Not a super huge stripe person, but otherwise I'm open

They're mom's sheep, she should have named them, lol.)  Most of my stripy yarn is either merino or merino cashmere.)  I think the unnamed sheep thing is hilarious, btw.  And I have no preference.

Are you interested in receiving any of the following homemade / home dried / home canned goodies?  (just erase the ones you don't want when you answer to make it easy?)

(see list in this post under spoiler because long)

    8/15/21

How do you feel about oracle decks?

Would you like witchy/ritual oils/sundries? Any limitations (e.g. deities you won't work with)?  I'm such a total novice this is probably lost on me at the moment

Is there anything you would like to try from the UK specifically? (e.g. Lush exclusives)

Oh, and are you into astrology? minimally

What size shoe do you wear (inc wide/narrow, etc)?  9 wide but I have seriously wonky-shaped feet so unless this is just for like stretchy house slippers, foot stuff is probably a no-go

Do you like/would you want to receive comic books? Any favorite genres or characters?

Would you like a palm stone, or anything else, from Haute Macabre?

What's your favorite flower(s)?  yes!  seriously, I love flowers of any kind.  If I had to pick favorites, zinnias, chrysanthemums, viola family

What's you favorite woodland creature?  small songbirds like chickadees and finches, for mammals probably foxes.  I am equal opportunity as far as like critterart or whatever though.

Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)?  However it gets here is totally fine

Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape?  My mom is a saint and sewed me a boatload of masks, so I'm good there.

I have a literal stockpile of skincare products.  Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.?  Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type?  I am always down for moisturizers given I live in the land of no humidity, never tried sheet masks.  My skin type is on the dry side of combination, and as dramatic as a damn teenager.

Anything from here?  ChocolateStorybook on Etsy

I have been enjoying the incense from here hand-dipped incense sticks | Hexennacht and here Hand-dipped incense sticks | Mr. Hex (mr-hex.com)  Any thing interesting from either site?  Alas, incense is a no-go, since I can only really burn it outside due to highly senstitive cohabitants.

    8/16/21

Would you like some delicious coffee? If so, do you prefer whole bean or ground? If ground, what grind? Also, light or dark roast? Flavor preferences?  Whole or ground is fine (medium grind? mostly drip or chemex made coffee here), light to medium roast.  We generally drink unflavored with the very rare vanilla/hazelnut/some spice flavor thrown in.

    8/17/21

I may be going to the Renaissance Fair this weekend (if not this weekend then soon and multiple times), any Ren Faire goodies you may like?

I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things?  Local honeys are always fun

Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies?  I'm fine with either or a combination, ex.  this is the first day, this is the last day/halloween specifically, everything else grab at random.

If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit?

Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters?

    8/18/21

Is there something that you definitely prefer to not receive in any category (anything to avoid if you hadn't/forgotten to mention)?

Are there patterns/prints (more guidance than general Halloween/Autumn) you like for things or are you open to whatever I may find that speaks to me?  Pretty open

Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? I am making up the cocoa part, but you get my drift. I think this is delightful. Yes, there is a beloved, and there is also my mom who is my coffee/tea/crafting compatriot.

I would love to request folks to to put their wish list in this thread and link in their signature. I would love to decant from my oils if I have any my person is looking for!

If you happened to list some favorite fandoms earlier, would you also name your favorite character(s) from those fandoms?

    8/19/21

Do you ha ve an Amazon link?  Can you post it??

if you are a knitter/crocheter, are you over on Ravelry?  If so, what’s your user name there??  I'm firechild on Ravelry, primarily crochet/tunisian crochet

    8/20/21

I make homemade fire ciders, would that be of interest? Non-alcoholic and they are quite fiery.  I am cautiously interested

Are you interested in getting other BPAL items besides perfume, like hair gloss, bath oils or T-shirts? sure.  there are a couple things in my w/l, mostly hair gloss and atmo

    8/21/21

So partner, would you be interested in a Frankenbag done in Halloween prints?  sure!

Y'all with furbabies... Are there any food allergies/sensitivities or quirks to know about?  The featherbeastie is just insane, but no allergies per se, she's just picky and weird.

how do you feel about (ethically sourced) butterfly / moth art (in a jar or shadowbox) I think this is lovely as long as it's small enough I could display.  But I'm fine with found former-critter...bones, butterflies, etc.

I may have preemptively picked out 2 Halloween-themed mugs with cute matching spoons, before I knew who my match was going to be! So I leave it to you: Bat, or Cat?  Bat

    8/22/21

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass?  My nopes are probably not kid-friendly-able, lol

Would you be interested in receivin g a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)?  I tend to use loose pigments more than pressed palettes

    8/23/21

I live in Japan. Are you interested in anything specifically Japanese I could get for you here (doesn't necessarily have to be Halloween themed)? For example, are you a fan of the anime Demon Slayer and want merch? Are you interested in trying some fun kit-kat flavors? Do you need a new set of pretty chopsticks?

there is an excellent chance teeturtle will have a sale in time for this swap: anything (particularly tshirts or socks) that appeal? Sizes?

Haus of Gloi Fall Part 1 drops soon, anything here you like?  https://www.hausofgloi.com/blogs/blog/fall-lineup-2021

Could you use a journal or sketchbook?  I love them, but I do have a bunch.

Do you need BPAL storage?  Imps?  Bottles? Think I'm set here

Do you wear socks?  What kind?  No show, ankle, knee high, over the knee?  Fibers?  I only really wear socks in the winter, otherwise I'm barefoot or in little slip on shoes. generally ankle or crew, because I have really big calves and I like my circulation.  As far as fibers as long as it's soft I'm happy.

Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too!  I'm fine with whatever.  Herbal or black bagged tea for work or little packets of snack things, crackers, nuts or whatever.

I'm going down the Shore for a few days! Any treats you'd like from a cute beach town- salt water taffy? Fudge? Wrist fans? Tie-dye beach dress...?  Salt water taffy

How do you feel about fancy marshmallows?  I like them, and I occasionally get brave and make them, but haven't gotten much more adventurous than vanilla, and orange cream so far in my own candymaking.

    8/25/21

We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour?  I love pretty much any gummies, sweet, sour, bears, bats, rings, whatever.

Anything from these Etsy shops? Kodiak Sea Charms, Halloween Hill Studio, Grave Markings

What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop?

I wouldn't mind a  tiny bit to try, most likely for tea or seasoning

I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others?  my basil did not work out this year but I'm pretty set on other herbs

I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest?  ooo, garlic...

Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like.  I love interesting feathers

I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios)  No thank you

I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some?  shiso citrus sounds intriguing, so a tiny sample would be fun

    8/28/21

Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)?  (see photo here) while this is super fun I would probably not use it

If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in?  We play rummicub, boggle, and triominoes mostly, and I used to play a lot of backgammon with my grandmother.  I like thinking and collaborative games more than just games of chance, and stuff like jigsaw puzzles.

    8/29/21

DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES?  Yes, but not in the OMG-must-listen-to-every-podcast type of way.

DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING?  Baking more than decorating

If you are enthused by the idea of receiving coffee, do you want whole bean or ground? AND do you have flavors that you like (or definitely hate and never want again)?  Can use either, and as far as flavors, I tend to lean toward the nuts, caramel, spices type of stuff as opposed to anything with fruit or baked goods.

    8/30/21

Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? There are Halloween patterns, but also most colours under the sun, and are very comfy.  Sure!  (if this is Snag, they are awesome. I haven't worn any tights yet but the chub rub shorts were wonderful this summer)

What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level?  I love those kind of things, I'm good to medium, my housemates though are of a lower tolerance so err on the side of mild with chiles and the like. :)

In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals.  Small critters are love, the fruit/veggies I'm not sure where I would display.

The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? (It's not just nail polish...there's jewelry and bath scrubs and wax tarts and all manner of things. It's fun!)  https://polishpickup.com/  Stella Chroma Harvest Moon and Sassy Cats Scary Meowster look really cool.

    8/31/21

Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers.  Do any spark your interest?

So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy?  While this stuff is super cool to see in other places, it probably wouldn't be anything I could display.

do you use any sorts of semipermanent dyes or do anything fun/wild to your hair? are there any hair products you like?  My hair is permanently dyed with henna and indigo, and unfortunately 'unnatural colors' are banned at work.

what about skincare? i am pretty into k beauty and am curious if others are interested in any aspects of this.  I'm curious about this stuff, but also tend to be in the 5-minutes-or-less camp for skincare regines, and a lot of the things I've seen are like multistep processes

Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers?   I’m not so good with mohair, but other than that not any fiber allergies.  Beads are fun.  I would love to make some long mitts with handspun.  As to colors, think Autumn Fae & go from there.

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass? All is fine on wrapping paper

Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)?  Not really – I so very rarely wear eye makeup.

I love socks – I’m really well stocked on the no show/ankle type.  Crew, Knee or over the knee are welcome.  Most all fibers, but cushy wool crew or knee socks are the best.  I have heavier calves.

Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too!

We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour? Not a gummies girl

Anything from these Etsy shops? Kodiak Sea Charms - No, Halloween Hill Studio No, Grave Markings Not a Phase enamel pin or the glowing cat skull pin

What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop? Nope.

Sure.

I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others?  Basil & Lemon Balm

I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest? Garlic, some to plant & some to cook with.

Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like.  Feathers are always a hit here – they are the ultimate cat toy, although I have some pretty ones in my studio that I hope they never find.

I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios) That sounds marvelous.

I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some?  Would love to try some, especially that citrus one – be sure to include a festive cocktail recipe.

    8/28/21

Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)?  No Thanks.

If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in?  We don’t play a lot of tabletop games, so this is probably not a good idea for us.

    8/29/21

DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES? Nope, not my thing.

DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING?  I love the fall cooking & baking magazines – the sort of things with headlines like “The best 317 Thanksgiving sides in the history of ever”

If you are enthused by the idea of receiving coffee, do you want whole bean or ground? AND do you have flavors that you like (or definitely hate and never want again)?  I love flavored coffees.  I do not own a grinder & I use a French press.  I love chocolate/caramel/vanilla/almond/hazelnut & oddly Raspberry& chocolate flavor.  I tend not to like the ones made to taste like a specific pastry (there was a blueberry muffin coffee that was so gross, it went right down the sink)

    8/30/21

Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? There are Halloween patterns, but also most colours under the sun, and are very comfy.  I love size inclusive tights.  I’m 5’9” with a 45”waist & 52” hips for size chart purposes.

What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level? I am an official chutney junkie.  Jams are cool too, in fruits I don’t already make myself.  I usually order Thai food as medium spicy if that helps (I’m not into ghost peppers, reapers or habanero)

In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals. No thank you, they would be kidnapped & likely gutted by my furry overlords.

The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? (It's not just nail polish...there's jewelry and bath scrubs and wax tarts and all manner of things. It's fun!)  https://polishpickup.com/  I did not see anything here that makes me go oooh.

    8/31/21

Anything here sound good to you? https://gryffonridge.com/  Oh gosh yes this looks wonderful. Ginger salt or porcini salt, or Chili lime salt.  Any of the spice blends that are good for vegetarian uses.  Elderberry boost.

Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers.  Do any spark your interest? Not a huge Disneyphile.

So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy?  Hubs collects skulls of various animals, and some creepy things in jars (baby shark comes to mind) so anything like that would go straight to his library.

    9/2/21

Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.'s Halloween & Fall collection is out (https://cellardoorbathsupply.com/collections/halloween-fall-collection😞 anything you might be interested in?  I love their soaps.  Would love to try a candle. Scents I like are Samhain hard cider, Pumpkin Guts, Lavender Pumpkin, Autumn Apple

Regarding tea, what type of tea do you prefer? Black tea, green tea, herbal tea? Any type of tea you really don’t enjoy?   Please no Rooibos blends.  Also not a big green tea fan.  I drink either black tea or flavored blends with Black tea or herbal blends.  My single favorite tea is Assam.  Earl Grey blends are usually good too.  My favorite US supplier is Harney & sons.  I also order from Bird & blend in the UK.

Bath and Body Works? I know this is a bit of a love em or hate em company, but I really love their foaming hand soaps and scented hand sanitizers and my kids like their body wash, so I'll be placing an order with the next good sale. Anything that catches your eye? I  like the foaming pump soaps - anything that plays well with my scent profiles.  Same for Hand sanitizers.

    8/11/21

Are there any collage artists in the mix?   I would LOVE to curate one of spooky autumn goodness if my person were to be interested! I don't really have room for my art on my walls sadly, the only space I have left is devoted to BPAL postcards.

    8/12/21

Do you like any art from these two sellers? They are local artists and I will probably pick up some stuff for myself soon!
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMcCarthyArt
I like the art style but I am not in need of any prints or pins right now, thank you.
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/BatinYourBelfry Same as above! ⬆️

I make beautiful and very lightweight yarn-and-ribbon hairfalls - would you like a set in the colors and length of your choice? If yes, name up to four colors and length in inches! Remember- this can be part of your Halloween costume!  These are not really my style, sorry.

Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers? I don't knit so I don't need any yarn.

Do you like stickers? Patches? Buttons? I love spooky stickers! :wwolf:

Do you spend time in the outdoors? I do, I like to take walks outside and do some nature watching.

I will have to update this when the collection drops. :smilenod:

    8/14/21

Does anyone here like vintage halloween? YES!

I prefer to decorate with non-licenced items rather than be fandom specific.

How do you feel about atmospheric/novelty scents and novelty food items? Things like "new car candle" or "eyeball jawbreaker" or whatever. I'm intrigued lol.

If you like tea, how do you want it delivered? Loose? Bags? Tiny little messenger pigeons (subject to availability)? I drink tea and I like both lose tea and tea bags. 🍵

Would you prefer to receive ONE HUGE (more expensive) GIFT and 12 inexpensive ones, a few more expensive, or all about the same price? I am not picky, whatever you choose!

What are your fandoms, if any? I am not really in any fandoms, sorry.

Do you like rocks/crystals?  What colors / kinds?  Would you like them with holes drilled (either as a pendant - you'd need to stick a bale in, or a bead?) I love rocks, any kind is fine!

My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags.  Do you love anything from it?  We can also do box bags, draw string bags, dice bags, etc. and if you want a different type of material or a different fabric pattern, I'm open to links to specific things.   (yes, we have harry potter things.  We bought most of it before JKR showed herself to be a twat since we buy lots of bolts at the same time - yes, we have a whole room stuffed full of fabric.) No thank you.

Or put it on pinterest or something if you have that.)  Fingerless mitts, soap sack, washcloth, socks could be neat.

    * What colors would you prefer said knitted object in?  Gray, lavender, oxblood, sage, pumpkin orange and black are my favorite colors.

    * Stripes, gradient, semi solid, variegated? Anything is fine.

They're mom's sheep, she should have named them, lol.)  Most of my stripy yarn is either merino or merino cashmere.)

You can check out some of my finished projects on Ravelry if you like (click on the project for more photos)  (I'll have to make a list of which items are available  because I knit a lot of things and then just put them in a cabinet and gift or sell them.) Nothing scratchy please.

Are you interested in receiving any of the following homemade / home dried / home canned goodies?  (just erase the ones you don't want when you answer to make it easy?)

(see list in this post under spoiler because long) Dried could be neat!

What's your favorite flower(s)? Moonflower, hibiscus, hydrangea, and passion flower.

What's you favorite woodland creature? BATS!

Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)? Whatever you prefer, I'm easygoing.

Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape? Yes, I prefer the dome shape.

I have a literal stockpile of skincare products.  Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.?  Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type? Absolutely, I love skincare!

I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things? Bath products, candles and honey are always welcome.

Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies?  Either way is fine!

If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit? Sadly I'm not good at devoting time to books, I'm way more likely to listen to them, I like gothic horror.

Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters? No thank you, I don't drink often.

    8/18/21

Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? I am making up the cocoa part, but you get my drift.  No special person in my life atm.

I would love to request folks to to put their wish list in this thread and link in their signature. I would love to decant from my oils if I have any my person is looking for! My Wishlist is in my signature, I will try to add to it soon!

    8/22/21

If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass? No adversions.

Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)? I am pretty good on makeup but I wouldn't say no to new gothy makeup.

    8/23/21

I live in Japan. Are you interested in anything specifically Japanese I could get for you here (doesn't necessarily have to be Halloween themed)?
