Summer Sprite Q&A

Updated 8/20 5:45pm

Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ]
Hummingbird, Archipelago, Beguiled and U=Pick, Blueberry Tart, Lemongrass Ice Cream in any of the product categories I tend to like (whipped soap/body butter/foaming scrubs/soap) all sound lovely.
Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! (https://www.dammann.fr/en/#) Oh my goodness. I am honestly overwhelmed by the tea choices, but I love fruity flavored black teas and fruit infusions, so you can't really go wrong with those. Otherwise, macarons, chocolates, cheese? I'm blanking on my Parisian gifts.    I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? Honestly, almost all of the soaps look right up my alley, other than a couple of super floral ones.    Dear Swapee, is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests?  Obviously no promises; but if I don't know what to look for, I certainly won't find.  I really love pretty stones.   Also, second question, ring sizes, obviously fingers are all different sizes, even on the same hand - do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?  I'm pretty set for rings.   If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? No thank you.   Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? They will get stolen by my son, but sure, if they are really interesting and unusual.   What's your favorite creature? Cats, bats, corgis, spiders, snakes, penguins, owls, corvids, octopi   Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I love comics and definitely. All of that info is in my goodreads in terms of what I already have.    I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? This is my question, but generally, I'm up for jewelry, travel mugs or water bottles, magnets or other little trinkets from your travels.    Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Also my question, but I want all of the alcohol infusions.   Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Absolutely.    - If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? I was all over the map with what I want to do this year, but as it happens, we have been gifted tickets to AwesomeCon, so we'll be doing that. Plus I'm making Roach's 40 Orange Glaze Cake (https://twitter.com/sambaschutte/status/1517315078650884096). - Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? I do not.  - Anything you want from the UK? I am always up for UK sweets, although summer is probably not the best time to be sending me aero bars.  - Seeds, y/n? No thank you. - Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Other than sheet masks or eye cream, no thank you. Or lightweight moisturizer with at least 35 SPF. - Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? Sure - I prefer relatively lightweight, dark colors, patterns, fit roughly US 14-16. - Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I already have a couple of decks and don't really need more.  - What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ I love it! I would definitely get use out of notecards, postcards, stickers, or the weekly planner. I'm not overly into the witchy designs (pentagrams, wands), but the ravens, skulls, memento mori designs are amazing.  - Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? Bagged is more portable and convenient, but I am fine with loose leaf and have plenty of strainer baskets and such. Now that I'm only in the office a couple of days a week, this distinction is much less meaningful.    I make arm warmers.  I make them from sweaters I thrifted.  They can be all one color, or stripes of different colors.  They can be long, to the elbows, or shorter. If you would like a pair, tell me your favorite colors.  Solids are more generally elegant, Stripes can be as wildly funky as you wish.  Long?  Short?  Cashmere?  Tell me your fingerless mitts arm warmer dreams. These sound delightful. Stripes and colors in my favorites sound good in soft blends.   PBSW Summer collection is live!!!  Anything catch your eye? Weirdly, not much from this one.   It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following?
The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) I would LOVE Orange simple syrup or Grenadine, vanilla extract, and the sugars all look interesting.   Working Class Coffee -coffee is always welcome Philly Nuts Ooh, honestly, just about any of the flavored nuts, especially anything fruity/spicy or a little sweet 222 Creations  These are lovely, but not really my style Carol's Epiphany I really love the calla lily style earrings here.   I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? Sure! I'd love something in one of my fandoms or featuring a favorite animal or a skull or something.   If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? I do love bees and butterflies and beetles, along with calla lilies and yellow roses and tree flowers like cherry blossoms or dogwood flowers.   What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons Whatever is most fun for you.    Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) Sure!   I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? No thank you.   My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? I love vhino verde, but it might be of questionable legality to send me a bottle. Likewise, local liquors, German beer, etc.  Generally, spices, sweets, stickers. Painted tiles from Portugal?    My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like? I like this work a lot, but I don't have a lot of wall space, so I should pass.    Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? Maybe if it were something subtle. I am a gemini and find astrology interesting, but don't really believe in it.    what do you think of plushies? I absolutely love plushies. My daughter and I collect tentacle kitty plushies and I have a little collection of arogumi made by folks for me over the years.    Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? I am always up for Japanese Kit Kats in fun flavors and other snacks and my kiddo will love any kawaii inspired items. I also like Korean sheet masks.   Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? I am absolutely a black thumb.    How many books is too many books? I legitimately have too many physical books, but there is no such thing on a general level.    I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some? I would likely use them as dishcloths, but definitely.
any spices you need/want?  I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!!  I love Penzey's New Curry and Vietnamese Cinnamon.   your feelings on chocolate?  Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness?  I went into a great deal of chocolate detail in my survey, I believer, but generally, milk, white, dark is my order of preference. I like nuts with other things (think cadbury fruit and nut) and truffles are fab.    Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets? Maybe magnets if they are super in my interests. Stickers will likely go on my guitar case, although I'm rapidly running out of room.   any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) Fans, yes. I don't use hair accessories. Maybe on other things? A reclaimed fabric tote bag could be cool.    Would you use cbd infused bath products? Probably not, honestly.
What colors are your kitchen stuffs? All of them? A lot of blue in dishes (we just got a full set of Calamityware last year). Cooking implements tend to be black or pretty random. There is no coherency in my kitchen.
If I knitted up a scarf/shawl/something in the wearable area what colors would you like and please be pretty specific so I can see if my yarn stash makes this feasible (or if @twilighteyes or @winterblizzard has stash that does and I can barter) k please thanks I've been really likely dark green lately. Sparkly would be wonderful.   —->. One big box or a couple starting now?? Whatever works for you, with the caveat that you shouldn't mail anything until mid July at this point.    How close to the final deadline would you prefer to receive your package?  Should we try to squeak as close to August 31st as humanly possible, or would it be okay to send the package earlier? I don't have strong feelings one way or another.    I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? All of that sounds delightful.    do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory?? Not a bit.   So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets.  Would you be interested in either one? Absolutely! If there's flexibility to the weaving, then either one. If they are super stiff, then probably a bracelet. (Or earrings?) IF SO What color wire would you like?  (silver, gold, copper, blue, purple, yellow, green orange, black, turquoise, pink, so many colors.)   I have THIS PACK among others. Silver with black, green, blue, purple, turquoise (some of those, not all of them) would be fab, although a subtle pride flag could be fun.  What length would you want (on either or both?)  6-7 inches on bracelets. Mid length for necklaces. What kind of fasteners do you like best (lobster claw, toggle clasp, magnetic?) and color of fasteners?  (silver, gunmetal, copper, gold?)  - some of the toggle clasps come in cool shapes. For bracelets, I'd want lobster claw in silver. For necklaces, toggle clasps are fine - the kitty one is adorable.  Do you think a larger chunky one like a torc or a slimmer one?  I can draw the wire down to different sizes with my draw plate.  Probably not super chunky for a necklace.   Hats! Esp. these hats? https://foxblood.com/collections/hats Generally I am actually very much in the market for a dramatic black sunhat like the ones pictured. Bonus if it has a bow or something to hold it on my head.    Tea! Especially this tea? https://august.la/collections/black-teas? SO MANY of these look right up my alley: Bourbon Sugar, Cherry Chocolate, Bergamot Plum Earl Gray, Chili Chocolate, White Chocolate Prune, Cocoa Rose, Dirty Chai, Orange Rosemary Caramel...soooooooooo many.    So apparently there's this cute little outdoor market here that sells locally made dishcloths and similar- would you be interested in having some tea towels or similar from Portugal, dear Spritz? I can always use tea towels and dishcloths.   How much do you guys like hats? I want to like hats. I really really do. But I really never wear them anymore, other than my hiking hat. I want a big broad black straw hat with a chin tie, though.   Would you like some smallish bottles of Rose Petal Liqueur, Lavender Vanilla Bean Liqueur, or Plum Brandy?  (all homemade.) Of course!   Anything look appealing from the Nocturne Alchemy gemstone scent drop today? No thanks.   How about the BPAL Dragon*Con Peaches? Probably? I need to catch up on these.   Tea, coffee, sweets, biscuits, etc. from Europe.  Is there anything you would be interested in, sprite?   https://matreshkadeli.com Yes? I cannot even begin to narrow it down!   Vintage martini glass? This is my question and I'm on a mission for myself, but I love vintage barware generally.   My peacock is shedding his feathers as the mating season has ended. Would you like some peacock feathers? I think that I've received peacock feathers from you before! So I think I'll pass this time.   Also, I have loads of herbs right now and a dehydrator. Would you like any peppermint, spearmint, licorice mint, sage or oregano that I grew? Absolutely! I love using dried mint for tea infusions and licorice mint sounds quite intriguing.    How about a few sprigs of fresh lavender? Sure!

Q&A for Summer Sprite Swap!

Answers to ongoing q's in the thread   Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ]
Those sugar scrubs look fun! Honeysuckle Incense or Archipelago or The Briar Path or Marshmallow Rose all sound lovely.
Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! Any kind of candy would be neat, too!    I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? All the scrubs and saps look delightful, especially the Oatmilk and Honey and Mahogany and Lavender!   Early July, I will also be taking a trip, but to nowhere so flashy as Paris.  I'm going back to the woods.  However, middle of nowhere Mississippi does have one advantage - I can probably do some wildcrafting while I'm home.  Dear Swapee, is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests?  Obviously no promises; but if I don't know what to look for, I certainly won't find.  Any kind of dried leaf/flower would be wonderful and very welcome.   If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Sure! Anything regarding new beginnings or creativity would be especially welcome.   Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? No thank you!   What's your favorite creature? Cats and moths   Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I love them, and yes     Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)?
Certainly! Cinnamon chocolate and pepper sound nice.   Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Hell yeah! I love shortbread.   If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? It's not!   Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? I don't have any spiritual holidays I celebrate over the summer, though I try to spend a lot of time outside and in the ocean if possible.   Anything you want from the UK? An Aero chocolate bar please! Seeds, y/n? Can't use them, unfortunately, so no   Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Sure -- face masks always welcome. I use Lush's Big shampoo and Roots leave-in conditioner.   Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? Sure! XS/S, and fleeced ones are great. Any style/color is fine.   Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? Yes, and sure! I have the Wild Unknown deck and an Egyptian-style deck with illustrations from Falconnier and Wegener.    What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ Ooh, very cool and up my alley! Love the Morteria riso.   Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? I do prefer bagged, but I can manage with loose leaf!   I make arm warmers.  I make them from sweaters I thrifted.  They can be all one color, or stripes of different colors.  They can be long, to the elbows, or shorter. If you would like a pair, tell me your favorite colors. No thank you, they sound lovely but I don't think I'd wear them!   PBSW summer collection Ooh, the shaving soap looks interesting??   Anyway I have a few more questions! It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following? The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) Any of the sugars or salts look fab!!   Working Class Coffee If it can be ground, certainly! If not, I'll pass.   Philly Nuts Any of the cashew or peanuts look great!   222 Creations No thank you!   Carol's Epiphany No thank you!   My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? Nothing immediately jumps to mind but I'm always down for candy from abroad!   I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? Would love that!   If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? Aw! I do love bees -- I used to pet the fuzzy bumblebees in my backyard when I was a kid, so they really do call summer to mind. Shells and honeysuckle flowers are close runners-up.   What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons. I don't mind! My sprite already sent me a knitting pattern on a super secret burner email account and that was fun.   My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like? https://www.garbageforgood.com/ Those are indeed super cool; sure!    Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) Totally fine!   Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? I'm ambivalent! And a Sagittarius.   What do you think of plushies? Not super into them -- they will get requisitioned by the cats as toys within 24 hours of entering my home, per our contract.   Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? Matcha Kit Kats and/or Hi-Chews!!   Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? I'm moving to a new spot that has a deck and room for outside plants for the first time in my life! Where cats cannot eat them! I don't know what to do! But I would love to have some small potted plants there!   How many books is too many books? hahahahahahaha   Speaking of……I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some?  If so, what colors would go with your kitchen Absolutely! Cream/black/emerald green   And for you Spritz - things have come in but a question for you.  I may have missed it from the questionnaire... but your feelings on chocolate?  Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness?  I love milk and white chocolate, not a fan of dark! Also very much enjoy a truffle and anything with caramel/fruit flavors/raisins in it. I like peanuts and cashews; not a huge fan of almonds or walnuts in chocolate.

Summer Sprite Swap Answers *,*

1) Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ]
Beguiled, The Briar Path, Cottage Flowers, Azure Dragon, and Zephyr sound wonderful-- and perhaps Selkie (I'm a sucker for Selkies).  I'm not too familiar with their B&B stuff, but am always open to scrubs, soaps, and would be happy with samples of perfume or hair oil, too.

2) Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! (https://www.dammann.fr/en/#)   First off, bony voyage!  I hope you have an exceptionally amazing time, VioletChaos! Answering the question:  Any of the jasmines, Jardin du Luxembourg, and Osmanthe D'Or jumped out at me.  So many gorgeous-sounding teas...   I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? O.O All of the body creams, One Starry Night, Tangerine Dreams, Island Nectar, and Oatmeal Strawberry soaps, the Raspberry and cucumber scrubs. Bookmarking this site now... That sounds wonderful.  Hope you have a vibrant, wonderful time reconnecting! After thinking on it, if there were anything to catch your eye out there that you felt "Oh, that would be cool for Usagi!" then I would like that. Otherwise, if you happened across a plant or tree seed that would survive hot, hot summers, and fairly cool winters, I would love to try to grow something from native to there-- non invasive, of course. Please don't send Kudzu.  While I'm pretty sure the desert would fry it, better not to risk that... 😉 Although, a wildcrafter kudzu food or B&B thing might be cool.  It's seems like an interesting plant.   Also, pictures.  Pictures of the nature would be lovely.     Also, second question, ring sizes, obviously fingers are all different sizes, even on the same hand - do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?  I mainly wear rings on my right middle finger, pointer, and ring, and left middle finger.  Occasionally I were a ring on my right pinkie. I think I did a range in the questionnaire... But, more specifically:  pinkie 5.5-6, ring 7, middle and pointer 8?  I think my thumb is an 8.5, just to have all the digits on there.     If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? a) Yes, that would be awesome, and b) healing, strength, adaption, perseverance-- not necessarily for me, but for the environment and my plants and trees in particular.  Our effect on the environment and the weather pattern fall out has been a bit stressful on the living things around here.  Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? Is it wrong that I don't tabletop, but would love some dice?  The more-sided the merrier! I would love any dice in clear or translucent, with things inside.     What's your favorite creature? Nature: Hedgehogs, cats, bats, California roof rats, seals, otters, sea dragons, jellyfish, PYGMY HIPPOOOOS; I met the most adorable tiny bearded dragon in Petsmart today... I like animals, in general. Supernatural: Dragons, Kelpies, Frank, and most of the other Beasts in the Fantastic Beasts movies, Humanoid supernatural: Mermaids, Selkies, Domovoi, Rusalka, Dryads, Naiads, Nereids, Fae.  I'm very much Faerytale people positive.   Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? Yes, I like reading comics, graphic novels, manga, manwha, and most anything with either pretty pictures or interesting stories. Yes, I would love comics I have not read-- though I do have a significant backlog of manga right now.   I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Wow!  Have a wonderful trip! I would love to see pictures of the beaches, or the plants. Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? If it would be good to bake or cook with, certainly, your suggestions sound aromatic and lovely. Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? I *would*, but we are heading into the warm time of year-- and by warm I mean hovering in the 110* for weeks at a time. Anything that is meltable will likely melt before I can get to it.    On reflection, please, no shortbread.     If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? My birthday is not during the swap, just a lot of unbirthdays.     Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? I'll be marking Midsummer.   Anything you want from the UK? I would, but those things are rather meltable (see: Cadbury's Marvelous Creations jelly popping candy bar).  If, for some reason, you happen into a Tesco, I would adore a box of their Blackberry Nettle tea/infusion, if they still carry it.   Seeds, y/n? Seeds are always a yes.   Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Skincare: always.  Shampoo and Conditioner: no, thank you.   Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? Footless tights, or leggings, sure.  I think M/L, US. I'm open to all styles. Although for styles, nothing with nudity?  I went to work with cherubs on my leggings once, and the children kept asking why I had a naked baby on my tights.   Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I love tarot decks and oracle cards.  I have Dragon Tarot, Faery Wicca, Old Path, Wildwood, Llewellyn, Golden Art Nouveau, Egyptian, an Ancient China themed one (some of these are packed up, and I don't remember their official titles), some generic ones from Barnes &Noble.  I've probably missed a couple.    What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ The aesthetic is gorgeous.  I like the Black Cat, Starlight Witch's Cat, and the Star Mushrooms the best.   Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? Loose leaf tea is great.  But bagged is fine, too. That is so cool!  My arm warmer collection has been going unloved for a while.  But fingerless gloves/mitts would be awesome for winter.  I'm open to all the colors, or stripes.  The one thing is they would need to be machine washable on warm.    6/2/22   PBSW Summer collection is live!!!  Anything catch your eye? Scents: Crystalcore Hammocks and Holystones Red Cow The Longest Day   and from the not summer collection: Wayfinder Capybaras and Yuzu Rhuby   formats: soaps, sorbetto, oil.  Sample or full-size, both awesome.     6/4/22   It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following?
The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) Well, now I'm hungry!   The Raspberry Blood Orange and Grenadine simple syrups sound amazing. Working Class Coffee Their mission statement is awesome. I don't see anything that catches my eye. Philly Nuts Pine nuts would be awesome. 222 Creations  Very cute, but probably would not wear Carol's Epiphany The stamped raven and tree pendants are beautiful, and the little flower baubles; I'm intrigued by the idea of a leather ring.  But I probably would not wear these.   6/5/22     I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? Wow!  Embroidery is such a great skill.  I'm in awe of anyone with the patience and the skill to work a fine hand.  If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? If you were so inclined,  I'd love a tiny embroidery-- stars, or waves or a little sprig of this: Why is it so big?!!     What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? Dear Sprite, your spriteliness is entirely up to you.  You need to be comfortable and have fun, too. While I'd love to know specifically whom to thank at the end of the swap, if being a ninja is what your heart desires, I am content with putting oodles of gratitude out into the universe to an anonymous person (I wanted to use the word 'oodles'; it's not around much anymore).   6/6/22   Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) I am fine with shunga art-- unless it is on wearables.  In which case,  I'm fine with it on other people, but would not get use out of it, because I work with children, and that would not end well (see: cherub leggings above).  I will, one day, have a poster of the Dancing Koi label, because it it awesome and makes me laugh.   I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? Yes. - If so, colors? I have various weights of wool, sport and dk cotton, cotton thread in 3/2 and 5/2, and light fingering weight bamboo rayon that dyes like a dream All the colors!  But especially blue-greens and golden yellows.  Oo, or orange... or maybe ultraviolet... So, yeah.  All the colors. Any fiber is great, though I admit a special fondness for bamboo.
My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? Probably nothing that would travel well.  But, if you happen to be my Sprite, then I would love for you to find and try the famous Portuguese custard tarts that the nuns make (pais de nata, if tarts are your thing, otherwise nevermind) and then tell me what you thought of them.  Most important of all, have an amazing adventure!   My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?
https://www.garbageforgood.com/   That is so cool! I might like a pin.  Or if there is an artist bio brochure about how your friend started and why they create their art this way,  I'd love to have something like that to take to school and show the kids.  Some of them already do upcycling kinds of things, and I think your friend and their vocation would be really inspirational to a lot of them.     6/8/22   Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? Sure, I like the little bow and arrow for Sagittarius,  or if you make/find something with the constellation on it,  that's awesome, also-- or, like, your interpretation.  That would be cool! My birthday is December 16, so there's also some people that say my sign is really that secret caduceus sign(Ophiuchus) that they put in between Sagittarius and Capricorn because of a change in astronomy since astrological signs were invented(or something like that). I'm a Sheep/Ram in Eastern,  and I do love sheep (I think sheep are tied with geese for my favorite farm animal). On more unusual signs: I'm not sure of my Mayan sign, because it tells me different things depending on the site.  I was either a crocodile, or possible a peacock.  Those are two *very* different things.    My Babylonian sign is, apparently, Pabilsag, and the symbol(Anzu-bird) is described as something like Frank from Fantastic Beasts-- which I am totally cool with.   What do you think of plushies?  I love plushies, all kinds of plushies.   Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? Tea, candy, spices, furikake-- always interested in trying new things.  I'm going to try to make Kongjang, so if you happen to know of particularly spectacular dried black soybeans somewhere, please let me know.   Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? For my garden, solar light things are always cool, metal or ceramic plant name picks, hardy bulbs or seeds, squirrel deterrent (  )... As far as houseplants go, hangy things or hooks, tiny blibbets to decorate pots (I've got some itty bitty hedgehogs and figurines that hang off the lips of pots). I would love to say plants or cuttings themselves, but the extent to which they would be horribly dead by the time they got here is just way too cruel for that.  I ordered my wish list rose in May (when it was only in the 80s), and the box-- when I opened it, direct from our awesome UPS person (so this is totally not on them)-- had a waft of what I would describe as infrared sauna air come out of it.  Thank goodness rugosas are so hardy.    How many books is too many books? There is no such thing as too many books, only not enough space.     6/13/22   I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some? Sure!  I like to wash things... my face, the dishes.  So long as they are washable, they will be appreciated.
any spices you need/want?  I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!!  I have no experience with Penzey's, but always appreciate spices.  And from the sound of comments, they are fair trade and ecologically mindful. I am totally down.   Your feelings on chocolate?  Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness?   I love chocolate, but not Hershey's. Unfortunately, chocolate will not survive the mail this time of year, unless it is in a jar.  Tempering can only protect it so far, sadly.   Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets? No, thank you.   There is a Japanese street fair this weekend I'm going to try and hit up.  Sadly I can't send you any fresh/hot treats from the food vendors; but there's often a lot of little other kinds of treats - any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) Anything with kimono fabric sounds awesome! Or anything with maneki neko.  Most importantly, just go and have fun; stay hydrated, eat a taiyaki or a shave ice, and enjoy yourself!     I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? Any of the above sound awesome (particularly cotton candy), dried fruit or fruit leather, dry goods mixes to make my own thing once it arrives, spices, Koolaid packets, recipes for your favorite sweet treat.  I am pretty good with anything that won't be destroyed by a 120* mailbox.   do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory?? Leather is fine.    So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets.  Would you be interested in either one?  IF SO What color wire would you like?  (silver, gold, copper, blue, purple, yellow, green orange, black, turquoise, pink, so many colors.)   I have THIS PACK among others. What length would you want (on either or both?) 1) that looks *awesome*.  2) any color is fine, but if you are asking, copper, orange, and blue-green would top my list. I'm not sure about lengths, anything beyond 7.5" should fit somewhere?   What kind of fasteners do you like best (lobster claw, toggle clasp, magnetic?) and color of fasteners?  (silver, gunmetal, copper, gold?)  - some of the toggle clasps come in cool shapes. magnetic is cool, or hook and eye. But anything, really. Do you think a larger chunky one like a torc or a slimmer one?  I can draw the wire down to different sizes with my draw plate. either/or.

Summer Swap Sprite

1) Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) I love their bubbling scrubs. I'm also starting to collect wax melts since I finally got a wax melter (... could use another...). Citrusy scents like Zazz in the summer and Imp and Satyr from the regular collection are my favorites. Candles and hair oils always welcome as well, in the same kinds of scents.

2) Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop!  Ooooh, I like snacks. Teas (mostly herbal - roses, apples, hibiscus - I'm also intrigued by the Chamomile Sage and Turmeric teas). Tiny tiny original works of art.    3) I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? Definitely the mango coconut scrub is most intriguing to me.    4) Early July, I will also be taking a trip, but to nowhere so flashy as Paris. I like tiny things that fit on my letterpress shelves - beautiful seeds, a lovely dried flower, that sort of thing.   5) Also, second question, ring sizes, obviously fingers are all different sizes, even on the same hand - do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?   (like, for me, I can't do thumb - rest are fine, though I don't tend to wear much on my pinkie, pinkie would probably be a 5.5, then 6.5-7, and index is probably 7.5-8)  I can't wear rings because of severe eczema, I'm afraid. 😞 I don't even wear my wedding ring.    6) If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most?  If my Sprite understands that I do not personally believe in magic/spell work. I like beautiful things that are made with love and care, especially when they were made specifically for me, but it's about the sense of joy and peace I get from that and the appreciation of others' personal and cultural beliefs. If you're ok with that, Sprite, then I'm totally ok with receiving these things.    7) Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic?  I definitely own too many dice already, lol   😎 What's your favorite creature? Um, I love all creatures. Really. My favorites lean toward the aquatic but I'm very hard pressed to choose a favorite. I like oddballs like anteaters, painted dogs, manuls/Pallas cats, all the mustelids, Komodo dragons, but really everything. Hoofstock and primates are my least favorite. Mythical creatures - mermaids/selkies/aquatic shapeshifters   9) Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I do! Saga is my favorite of all time. Rat Queens. Sandman. Anything by Alan Moore. Definitely interested in receiving comics/graphic novels.    10) I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Snacks. Local art.    11) Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Yes always. Anything that fits my flavor preferences.    12) Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Indeed.   13) If your birthday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? Not it. 😉   14) How do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? Sometimes I am invited to spiritual gatherings for friends' faiths, but I am an atheist.    15) Anything you want from the UK? Snacks! It's too hot to mail chocolate though. Doctor Who stuff. Anything from the UK for dogs, since my dog is an English setter and very proud of her UK heritage.   16) Seeds, y/n? My garden is almost entirely US native plants so probably not unless you're in the US mid-Atlantic region and have some natives to share.    17) Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Yes as long as it doesn't contain SLS.    18) Are you interested in tights? If so what thickness, style, and size? Probably not, thanks!    19) Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I do not use tarot decks for anything except the occasional writing inspiration. I have a Lord of the Rings deck and a Celtic deck. I do appreciate the artwork which I find inspiring.    20) What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/  I like it! I like plague doctor imagery (although I strongly prefer it to not include references to COVID, thanks). I love flowers, especially orchids. I like living animals better than animal skulls, but I do like human bones in memento mori style pieces.    21) Loose leaf or bagged tea?  Either is fine   22) I make arm warmers. I would love arm warmers - long, short, any colors - BUT I am very allergic to sheep's wool and do not like artificial fibers so I'm limited in what I can wear.   23) PBSW summer collection:  Hammocks and Holystones was clearly made specifically for me, in any format. Why yes, I would like to smell like a margarita. Osage Orange and Yacht Rock also definitely line up with my preferred notes. I just wanna smell like summer all the time.    24) Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? Ah yes! I love tea towels, tote bags, or just wall hangings. I love all flowers so it's very hard to choose. I also love insects, though I prefer our native bumbles over honeybees. Spiders, beetles, anything.    26) What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? Either way! You do you, sprite!   27) Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?)  It's not a style I seek out on my own but I'm not offended by it or anything.    28) Farmer's Market Season:  If it's within my flavor/etc preferences I will love ANYTHING from your local market. That's actually my preferred form of goodies - locally made stuff to you. (I do like pretty much any nut better than cashews but I'll still eat cashews (and my husband loves them) - peanuts, pecans, and walnuts are my favorites).  29) I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? Ooh, anything fun. I really only use yarn for weaving so all sorts of colors and textures are great.    30) Portugal or Berlin:  Always snacks. Always art.    31) My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?https://www.garbageforgood.com/ I love ALL of this!    32) Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? I'm an Aquarius - I don't feel any particular attachment to my astrological sign but I'm not opposed either. I don't really know anything beyond that I'm an Aquarius.    33) Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? I like snacks and skin care!    34) Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? I like orchids and carnivorous plants and succulents, I can always use more orchid pots!    35) How many books is too many books? Is that a thing? lol   36) Plushies  I like plushies, especially of unusual animals!    37) Penzey's?
I live two blocks from a Penzey's 🙂 I wish they offered a jar recycling or bring your own container option. At this point I just use them for the blends that I really like and vanilla, and get the rest of my spices elsewhere.   38) Knitted Washcloths Definitely. Also my cat likes to sleep on tiny (like tea towel sized) blankets so if you felt so inclined to make something a little larger lol    39) Chocolate I love chocolate. I love chocolate so much. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, doesn't matter. Caramel and/or nuts are my favorite. But it's consistently in the 90s and sunny here at this point so would need to be packed with ice packs probably. I also love nuts and caramels on their own.    40) Bumper stickers or magnets for a car?  Magnets are good but no stickers please!   41) Japanese fashion items:  It's probably pretty clear from my original survey but I will always always always wear hair pins. This is a good place to note that for cultural pieces, particularly wearables like kanzashi, it is especially important to me that they 1) come from independent creators from that culture and are not mass market, 2) are more "neutral" and not culturally specific designs (flowers yes; fans or foodstuffs probably no),  3) contain no kanji, and 4) are not overly showy. As a white American I think there's a pretty nebulous line between appreciation and appropriation and I try to err on the side of caution. The exception to all of this would of course be if you are from the culture in question and are generously gifting me something from your own culture, in which case I will always happily and humbly accept whatever you want to share!    42) CBD-infused bath products? I would definitely use them if you sent them, but CBD tends to have little to no effect on me so feel free to not spend the extra money on CBD versions, haha.    43) Kitchen colors My kitchen itself is cherry wood, black countertops, and stainless steel. I don't have much of a "real" color palette - I specifically bought my Le Creuset in a mismatch of colors. Teals, greens, blues fit in well anywhere in my house, and we've got a VERY LARGE print of Le Chat Noir hanging in our kitchen so that shade of red also works!    44) Scarf/shawl/wearables colors?  Like with household items, rich ocean-y colors are always a safe bet. (here's a good example! https://cleverchameleon.com.au/jewel-tone-triangles/) Also a lot of woodsy colors (https://stitchpalettes.com/palette/forest-greens-spa0201/). I don't wear neons, pastels, or pale colors as a rule. (This is my winter coat: https://www.torrid.com/product/her-universe-doctor-who-tardis-blue-hooded-fit-flare-woolen-trench-jacket/11950246.html)    45) One big box or a couple?  Oh this is totally up to you!    46) How close to final deadline?  Also totally up to you! Heads up though that it looks like I'll be out of state from August 19 to August 28 and then again from September 2-5. I'll have my packages held at the post office so as long as you mail USPS everything should be fine, but might not want to send anything perishable in a package that is likely to arrive during that time! 🙂     47) I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? Yes, yes, yes. I LOVE lollipops and other sour candies but really I just have a horrible sweet tooth so anything.    48) do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory??  Nope    49) So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets.  Would you be interested in either one?  UM YES I just got a sage green Viking dress for ren faire wear sooooo anything would be lovely. I love the toggles, especially anything ocean or nature themed. I love all, but especially the chonky. I like to mix metals so I am totally open to artistic inspiration.

Summer Swap Sprite 2022

This is where I will stash my answers to new questions & the like.     5/30/22    Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ]    Beguiled, Upick, or Zazz are lovely summer scents.  Pumpklin butter, bubbly scrub or sugar scrub are my fave products of theirs
******************************************************************
Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! Odd ball idea – ribbons.  I’ve read that they make gorgeous ribbons with woven patterns made on very old looms.  A piece of ribbon for a lovely bookmark. Post cards of artwork   Lucky you!  Have a marvelous time. ********************************************************** I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them?   Raspberry vanilla or Vanilla or Coconut lime sugar scrubs all sound like they would smell fantastic. ****************************************************************     is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests?  Something with dried ferns perhaps?  I am always on the lookout for stones with natural holes - AKA Hagstones.  If you find one on your wanders, that would be fantastic.   do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest? I wear them rarely, and only know one size for one finger - 10   If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Absolutely!  I love special stones or an oil to dress candles with (maybe for creativity or energy to get stuff done)   Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? I love purple sparkly iridescent dice, but I really don't game much anymore   What's your favorite creature? Anything that relates to Otters, Owls, ravens, crows, or cats.  Fantasy creatures - Griffins, dragons, Fae   Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I prefer the graphic novel format, but I don't read many comics these days. Best choice would be something Star Trek related.   I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Yes!  Spices with recipes (as long as vegetarian).  I don't really know enough to suggest anything else.  If you wander a beach & find beach glass, that would be cool.     Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Sure!  Orange chai (especially with cardamom) or cinnamon chocolate sound lovely.  Not so much for the chilis.   Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Crispy shortbread is my favorite cookie on Earth - all sorts of flavors. ***************************************************************************************     6/1/22   If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? My Birthday is August 12, so yes it is  during the swap.  I have not decided what I want to do yet on the actual day, but on the Saturday (8/13) I will be in a massive, nearly commercial kitchen with my besties doing what we call Canning Palooza doing big batch canning for 4 households.  Tomatoes & pickles are the main themes.   Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period?  Observing the seasons & progression of things in my garden.  Bonfires in my newly built fire pit.   Anything you want from the UK?  TEA!!! In some prior Switch Witch, I was introduced to the fun blends from Bird & Blend in particular.   Seeds, y/n?  Yes please   Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner?  I am seeking the definitive hand cream, bonus if it's good for nails too.   Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size?  I love tights.  Not sure I've seen different thicknesses of them, I guess mine are average weight & opaque, maybe a little less for the one lacy pair I have.  Sizes are all over the place.  I'm 5'9" & wear an 18-20 or 2X depending on the garment.  Hips are 50"  Style - full foot over footless, not into super brights, but other than that whatever you think is cool or pretty.   Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have?  I would like to make better friends with the decks I have.  Can you recommend a book or  other resource to learning to read them?   What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/  Oh My!  So many pretty things. I loved the blue Witches Cat & the raven with the full moon.  Some of the tarot ones with the moon are lovely too.   Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? Loose is great, bagged is fine too & gets to go along when I have to go into the office. **********************************************************************************************   6/2/22   PBSW Summer collection is live!!!  Anything catch your eye?   I didn't  see anything this time ( I wish Fairy Tale was a year round scent)   6/4/22   It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons   I hope to not learn who you are until the very end   6/6/22   Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?)  yes   I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? - If so, colors? I have various weights of wool, sport and dk cotton, cotton thread in 3/2 and 5/2, and light fingering weight bamboo rayon that dyes like a dream   Yes I am A total yarn hoar.  That bamboo yarn sounds fantastic and should knit or crochet up lovely.  I love purples, teals, greens, blues, saturated jewel tones are my faves.
My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin???  I don't  know enough about either place to know what to covet.  This said, local spice blends with a recipe are always great souvenirs    My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?
https://www.garbageforgood.com/  sorry, not my thing.   6/8/22   Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it?  I’m a Leo, but not much into astrological stuff   6/12/22   what do you think of plushies? Cute, but not really my thing   Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? Not really, I know nothing of Korean things & all I can think of from Japan is kit kats   Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin?  I am a gardener, specializing in weeds, columbines, & unusual berries (currants, gooseberries, saskatoons)   How many books is too many books?  LOL, funny funny girl.   6/13/22   I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some?  Sure, but I’m a knitter & crocheter too & have a bunch.
any spices you need/want?  I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!! I have all the Penzeys, plus a shop I can go to in person.  I love flavored salts though.   your feelings on chocolate?  Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness?  Dark, nuts or truffle are always welcome.  I’m diabetic, so I tend to spread a chocolate bar over a period of days (when I manage to restrict myself)   6/17/22   Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets?  Nah, these days that stuff can get a car keyed.   any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) Hair pins are always fun.  Smallish zipper bags with kimono fabric are cool (ie notions bag for various project bags)   6/21/22   Would you use cbd infused bath products? Like for pain /muscle relief?  Or a bath that gets me high?  First one, I’d try it, 2nd…not so much interested in a bath that gets me high.
What colors are your kitchen stuffs? Dark blues & greens, occasional pop of purple. Lots of wood tools - spoons & spatulas & such
If I knitted up a scarf/shawl/something in the wearable area what colors would you like and please be pretty specific so I can see if my yarn stash makes this feasible (or if @twilighteyes or @winterblizzard has stash that does and I can barter) k please thanks I love hand knits or crocheted projects that someone made for me.  Dark greens would be wonderful.  My standard colors are Purple, blues, greens, teals with black or grey as my neutrals.  This said, I have very little in the way of greens despite liking them so much.   —->. One big box or a couple starting now??  Whatever works for you is fine.   How close to the final deadline would you prefer to receive your package?  Should we try to squeak as close to August 31st as humanly possible, or would it be okay to send the package earlier?  Well, it does not need to be that close to the end date.  My birthday is a couple of weeks before that, so earlier is just fine.   6/22/22   I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy?  TEA!  Especially with flavors to make fun iced tea for summer (berries & fruity flavors as opposed to spicy, chai like flavors).  Coffee is good too. Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas?  Not so much on these sweets   do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory?? Nope, I’m a vegetarian, not a vegan.  I used to work in a leather booth at Ren Fest.  I adore leather accessories.   So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets.  Would you be interested in either one? YES IF SO What color wire would you like?  (silver, gold, copper, blue, purple, yellow, green orange, black, turquoise, pink, so many colors.)   I have THIS PACK among others. What length would you want (on either or both?)   What kind of fasteners do you like best (lobster claw, toggle clasp, magnetic?) and color of fasteners?  (silver, gunmetal, copper, gold?)  - some of the toggle clasps come in cool shapes. Do you think a larger chunky one like a torc or a slimmer one?  I can draw the wire down to different sizes with my draw plate. How very cool!  Hell yes, I would love a piece of this kind of work.  Purple or Purple + black or silver. My necklace length is 20 or 22”, nice secure lobster claw clasp (I once lost a beloved necklace that had a toggle clasp). The torc is stunning, but I can’t wear chokers.

2022 Summer Swap Sprite

1. Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ]
Oh my. Any of the soaps, refreshers,  soft bubbling scrubs, soy wax andles, or any of the sugar exfoliants. Scents that especially catch my eye: Depravity, Eudemonia, Moon Dog, Tonic #7, Hummingbird, Archipelago, Buzz off, Chillax, Orange Orchard, & Sea Spa

2. Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! (https://www.dammann.fr/en/#) Ooh lala! Literally any of the tea - omg it all looks so beatiful! 😍 Um, also anything with lavender, french chocolates, or fancy soaps!   3. I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? These are stunning! The standouts are the Coconut Lime Verbena scrub, the Coffee & Peppermint, Sweet Basil & Lavender, or Coconut Bliss soap, and the Tobacco & Bay Leaf men's soap.   4. is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests?   Hmm. Some pine, fir, or spruce needles would be awesome.   5. do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?  I prefer wearing rings on my ring and middle fingers, but I'll make an exception if the size and style suits a different finger. 7 for my pinkies, 10, 10.5, and 11 covers my thumbs, ring, and middle fingers, and 11 and 12 for my pointers.   6. If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Certainly! I could use help with energy and concentration. I'm an artist and writer and have a few projects that need to get done in the coming months, but struggle with being tired/brain fog/ADD brain. I suppose help with sleeping ties into that issue as well. So yeah, anything to help me sleep when I'm supposed to be sleeping and/or to help me be awake and able to focus and be creatively productive when I'm supposed to be awake, would be awesome!   7. Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? Yes - a set in ocean colors would be sweeeet! (I already have an iridescent purple set and a clear set, fyi)   8. What's your favorite creature? Polar bears are my fav animal ❤️ And for the less mundane, I do adore fae and mermaids and vampires/succubi.   9. Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I've never gotten into it, with the exception of Axe Cop (I own volume 1). I'd be up for more Axe Cop, but pass on anything else.   10. I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Maybe a spice blend or hot sauce? I like smokey spices, poblanos, and lime. And I love plantains. Also, if you come across a small drum/handheld percussion of any sort, that'd be really sweet!   11. Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Oh definitely! Orange chai sounds lovely 😍 Any combination of spices (especially cinnamon, ginger, or nutmeg), orange, cherry, coffee, bacon, anise, sassafras, or mint would be amazing.   12. Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Oh man, I'd kill for a good gluten free shortbread. I'd be happy with plain, lavender, lemon, matcha, or cinnamon!   13. If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? It's not. On the birthday note though, I'm a Pisces Sun/Sag Moon & Rising (just an fyi).   14. Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? Nothing set in stone, but for the solstice I'll likely try to spend some time in the sun and do some candle magic. (I don't have a yard so I can't make a bonfire or anything like that.)   15. Anything you want from the UK? I don't know if it's easy to hunt down over there or not, but in a recent swap, aphrodisms got me a pillow mist from Salix Moon that has lavender, bergamot, and frankinense in it, and I adore it. I'd definitely be up for a backup bottle. Other than that, anything relating to fae, avalon, ancient mystical type things. A Doctor Who or Torchwood magnet would be cool as well.   16. Seeds, y/n? Nay. No yard and I'm restricted to 1 container plant outside my door.   17. Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Yes. Toner, scrubs, a lightweight face lotion with SPF, detanglers, hair items that enhance curl/volume.   18. Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? Yes - anything opaque, darker colors (no patterns, but textures OK), and plus size tights that'd fit the 18-20 range (only 5'3" so no tall sizes though).   19. Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I do! I don't really need more though. I'd say only pull the gun on this one if you really have a strong gut feeling on it. Currently have: RWS, Prisma Visions, Alphose Mucha, Dragons, Game of Thrones, Celtic Faeries, and New Vision decks   21. What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ It's stunning. A lot of it is too gothy for my current decor vibe though. But I do really like that The Lovers print (with the birds) and would definitely hang it in my bedroom! I also really like that limited edition Luna Moth one (color on a white background). And if we're talking bookmarks/stationary/postcards, any of the prints with teal, green, or purple would be lovely.   22. Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? ALL THE TEA (lol, um, both)   23. I would love a pair! I have thicker than average arms though, so here are my measurements in case they're needed: wrist - 7.75" thickest part of forearm - 13.5" distance from inner elbow to start of wrist - 9" Elbow length or shorter would be swell, and solid colors preferred. Any material that's not scratchy.   24. PBSW Summer collection is live!!!  Anything catch your eye? Hammocks and Holystones (scrub or shaving soap) and Yacht Rock (shaving soap) both sound v nice. So does Osage Orange (hot process soap).   25. It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following? *waves to Philly friend* a. The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) - The Golden Milk spice mix, Ranch Popcorn Salt, and Chive Salt all look excellent! b. Working Class Coffee - These look like whole beans, so pass. c. Philly Nuts - The Onion Garlic Cashews sound good, and I would never turn away macadamia or pine nuts! d. 222 Creations - I like all of the Ginko Leaf earrings - any color  e. Carol's Epiphany - I like the shorter, simpler earrings, but none are particularly standing out to me.   25. I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece?  a. If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? Hm. This is kind of specific, but would it be possible to embroider a snowflake at the ends of a length of a wide ribbon? At some point in the coming years, my bf and I will be having a Handfasting and snowflakes have a special meaning to us. We'll be using a few ribbons (one for each vow) that fall into a color scheme of blush, copper, sage, teal, and purple (neutrals would work too), each approx. 5 ft in length.   26. What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons I like being a sleuth, so enough contact to give me clues, but nothing too obvious   27. Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) Absolutely   28. I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? It's not, but I have a close cousin I would pass it along to.   29. My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? Oh wow! I'll have to google for ideas...Portugal - maybe a tiny little dish? (like the kind you'd serve condiments in) (I love using wee dishes/bowls all around the house for all sorts of things) Berlin - chocolates perhaps?   30. My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?
https://www.garbageforgood.com/ So cool! I like Textured Landscape 01    31. Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? This is a tricky one to answer, because kinda but not always? I guess what I mean is I'd like things inspired by my sign or that subtly represent my sign, as long as it fits within my tastes. Like I wouldn't want a shirt with a big pisces symbol on it just because I'm a pisces, but a pisces candle or incense with notes I like would be a Hell Yeah! Use your best judgement I guess    32. what do you think of plushies? I'm not really a plushie person   33. Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? Absolutely! I love all things matcha. I also once got this Japanese chai latte mix (it was a powder that you add water or milk to), that I'm sure was 99% sugar lol, but it was damn tasty and I wouldn't mind giving something like that a try again. I do enjoy Korean face masks, though I have a decent size stack of them rn. I've seen a lot of other Korean beauty and makeup products that look intriguing, especially in the CC Cream/Foundation/Powder category (the color options look like they'd match me well since I have the kind of very pale skin that skews a little in the golden or olive direction, rather than the pink direction).   34. Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? I'm somewhere on the darker end of the black-to-green spectrum, lol. I seem to do okay with houseplants that require minimal attention and don't grow much (although I have killed succulents and cacti before). I've been thinking about giving air plants a try, but haven't yet.   35. How many books is too many books? As much as I love books, I do acquire them about three times faster than I read them, so... heh... go easy on me!   36. I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some? I've never used a knit washcloth. Perhaps just 1 so I can give it a try.
37. any spices you need/want?  I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!!  Tarragon! Otherwise I'm pretty well-stocked on herbs & spices, unless you see a unique blend you think I'd like.   38. your feelings on chocolate?  Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness?   Love chocolate! Dark is preferable, but milk is good too. Not a white chocolate fan, unless it's infused with matcha or cinnamon or something else intriguing. Nuts are always good, as are any softer fillings. Love truffles! The only add-ins I don't like is sticks-in-your teeth taffy-type fillings and really hard toffee.   39. Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets? No to bumper stickers/magnets, but I do have an essential oil diffuser in my car that I've been neglecting to refill for ages, so maybe a fresh-scented oil designated just for that.   40. any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) A fan fit for hanging on the wall would be cool! (I practice feng shui and the wind section of my apartment is somewhat neglected right now) I'm not really adept at hair styling and accessorizing, so nothing too elaborate in that vein, but things like bags and coin purses would be cool, as well as anything that could be repurposed for altar use. I adore fabric that's dark blue with a pink cherry blossom print on it, as well as anything that's aqua or pale green, or that features koi.   41. Would you use cbd infused bath products?  I never have before, but I'm open to it. I don't have any chronic pain, but I do have inflammation issues, if there's a product that helps with that.
  42. What colors are your kitchen stuffs?  Pale/soft greens and blue-greens (sage, pistachio, ocean-y colors), copper, and dark inky blue, with white and gray as the preferred neutrals.
  43. If I knitted up a scarf/shawl/something in the wearable area what colors would you like and please be pretty specific so I can see if my yarn stash makes this feasible (or if @twilighteyes or @winterblizzard has stash that does and I can barter) k please thanks  Sage green, soft jade, spruce...really any soft greens, dark or light, or deeper/darker shades of blue-green.   44. One big box or a couple starting now?? Totally up to you!   45. How close to the final deadline would you prefer to receive your package?  Should we try to squeak as close to August 31st as humanly possible, or would it be okay to send the package earlier? Anytime that works for you, works for me! (though earlier is nice lol)   46. I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? Nuts, gluten free pretzels, pink starbursts   47. do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory??  No issues with secondhand leather, but would prefer not to have something leather purchased new.   48. Very cool! Preferences: necklace, copper or gold, longer is better (I'm not sure about actual measurements, sorry!), magnetic fasteners are cool! or any kind that lets you adjust the length, and definitely slimmer, more lightweight styles   49. re: hats - I think I mentioned hats in my questionnaire, but yes! I love wearing hats and stupidly never buy them, so it'd be great to get one. Bowler style, newsboy, floppy summer-type, all welcome. The only thing to note is my head's a little big. I can usually squeeze into a standard woman's hat, but if runs a little small it'll be too tight.    50. re: August teas - omg they look UHMAZING! The Black Lodge and Dots and Loops sound crazy good.   51. So apparently there's this cute little outdoor market here that sells locally made dishcloths and similar- would you be interested in having some tea towels or similar from Portugal, dear Spritz? I would not say no to a tea towel, especially in my aforementioned kitchen colors ❤️   52. Would you like some smallish bottles of Rose Petal Liqueur, Lavender Vanilla Bean Liqueur, or Plum Brandy?  (all homemade.) Oh YUM! Those all sound lovely. I'm a huge sucker for botanically-infused drinks, so that lavender one sounds amazing, as does the rose petal one.   53. Anything look appealing from the Nocturne Alchemy gemstone scent drop today? I trust your judgement   54. How about the BPAL Dragon*Con Peaches? The one with coconut cream and marshmallow sounds good, and the "Ridiculously Sexy Peach" sure is intriguing!   55. Tea, coffee, sweets, biscuits, etc. from Europe.  Is there anything you would be interested in, sprite?   https://matreshkadeli.com It's hard for me to determine what might be gluten free from that market, but I did spot some buckwheat honey, which I love!   56. would you have any interest in receiving a vintage martini glass or two? certainly   57. My peacock is shedding his feathers as the mating season has ended. Would you like some peacock feathers? I've actually recently discovered that I've misplaced the peacock feather I use for magicking, so new one would be most welcome.   58. Also, I have loads of herbs right now and a dehydrator. Would you like any peppermint, spearmint, licorice mint, sage or oregano that I grew? Yes to the last 3.   59. How about a few sprigs of fresh lavender? A couple of sprigs would be welcome

Summer Swap Sprite - 2022

NEW!  Will be the place for a history of my Q&A answers.   In the meantime, I realized I didn't get all my wishlists (I'd forgotten I had so many): - and yes, I have issues with etsy and amazon as businesses, but it's a good reference place for wishlists; etsy and pinterest are mostly "style guides" than specific items) https://www.etsy.com/people/Izile?ref=hdr-fav https://www.pinterest.com/southeatsnorth/_saved/ https://smile.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/7KANCDM0KO7J/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1 https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/147827015?ref=nav_mybooks (Though I use GOODREADS more for what I HAVE read, and a reminder of what's next on my library list, not a "next book to buy" wishlist.  That's more Amazon. But Goodreads shows you what I have read (also, ignore stars, if I read it and didn't hate it, I gave it 5.)   QUESTIONS!   1) Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course!  ] Curious to try a Summer Refresher Spray:  Buzz Off, maybe U-Pick; 2oz sample jar of Pumpkin Butter: U-Pick or Zazz; Soft Bubbling Scrubs: maybe Beguiled or Marshamllow Rose; Whipped Soaps: Blueberry Tart, Lemongrass Ice Cream, (where are those smells in the other products! Ah, those sound like the best!)   2) Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! - I don't need any more tea, but OMG, PARIS! I miss you!! I would love a stop by Monoprix to get La Rorche Posay Anthelios XL fluid SPF 50+ for sensitive skin - (the EU SPF formula is different from FDA (EU is better)); similarly, Nuxe Huile Prodigeuese (available in US, but for 2x the price!); I'd also love any kind of caramel au beurre sale; sadly, I don't think you could transport the really good stuff (cheese, wine, eau de vie, cured meats.. nom nom nom...)   3) I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? I'd be curious to try the body creams - either baby bee, or maybe clover & aloe; and from the scrubs, mango & coconut, or coconut lime verbena, or green tea cucumber all sound really good.
  4)  My question - wildcrafting/MS woods = N/A   5) My question - ring sizes, obviously fingers are all different sizes, even on the same hand - do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?   (like, for me, I can't do thumb - rest are fine, though I don't tend to wear much on my pinkie, pinkie would probably be a 5.5, then 6.5-7, and index is probably 7.5-8)    6)If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Yes, interested. As to what... mmm... I've really been struggling for a long while to get the creative juices and general love of life rebooted and flowing again.  Been in therapy, on meds, and it'll be a year in August; and there's been progress, but that connection to playing music/painting, overflowing creativity, it gets drown out by exhaustion and anxiety way too often.  It'd be nice if something could help give that part of me a fresh battery.    7) Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? - no thanks, we are loaded with dice!
😎What's your favorite creature?  SO HARD! - Horses all-time favorite, with of course unicorns and pegasi being right up there. But Dragons also very big yes.    9)  Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I do! I'm a bit picky these days, just because I can't afford to dive so deep into mainstream comics - I was trying to corral all the new Sandman/Dreaming books because at least there were only supposed to be 16 (see Amazon wishlist for where I left off) - otherwise, I have the first 3 of Injection, I had some Fable, but that series ran too long; and I have the two Pretty Deadly ones because Beth/BPAL recommended so much.  But yes, long answer, if you have some that you think I'd like, feel free to pass them on to me!   10)  I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Good Rum? Is that possible? - I don't know what else PR is known for that is transportable (the ponies in Viequas, clearly not portable X-D )   11)  Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Hmmm, I'd be curious. I generally do not care for flavored liquors (as opposed to liqueurs), but since it's a home infusion, maybe??  Not sure what infusion though (def NOT apple pie - I know everyone's crazy about homemade apple pie moonshine, but I cannot abide it)   12) Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? ABSOLUTELY!  I like plain, or maybe chocolate, I've seen some really nice ones that have a touch of flowers on top, that always sounded nice.    13)  If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? - it's not. 14)  Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? - mostly with food, I can't light a fire in my backyard 😞 , and with no car, camping is difficult 15) Anything you want from the UK? - I can't think of anything specifically off the top of my head, know the man-thing would go crazy over real UK Cadbury  - I'm assuming shipping gin/whiskey is out of the question. 16) - Seeds, y/n? - y? bit late in the season to plant more seeds, but always yes? 17) Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? - skincare, not shampoo/conditioner 18) Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? - no, too many already 19)  Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? - I do, I have Shadowscapes by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law; and the Last Unicorn deck.  Two decks is possibly my limit, unless it's really special and incredibly beautiful art - if it speaks to you, I'll listen. 20) What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ - I like it! I'm not into the super goth stuff (skulls/coffins) but the bird, crystal, moth, witchy stickers are super nice!  21) Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? - I prefer loose leaf, but I am currently drowning in tea.    22) New question...PBSW Summer collection is live No thanks, I love the texture of their lotion, but none of the scents right now seem to line up for me.   23) Would you be interested in items from any of the following? The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) - no thanks,  Working Class Coffee - no coffee please Philly Nuts - no thanks 222 Creations - the barrettes are cute! Carol's Epiphany - no thanks   24)  Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece?  sure If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? - I like bees, I like a lot of flowers (roses, morning glory, lavender, red clover... ) What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons. - no preference, have had both 🙂    25) Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) - yes   26) - miss something?   27) Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? - love K-beauty, masks, used to love the peripera peach milk blurring liquid. And all about Japanese snacks!   28) Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin?  - I think the garden is well underway.  The kind of things I'd need, probably not good gifts, and hard to ship.     29) How many books is too many books? - infinity?    30) plushies: I like plushies, but they take up too much room. I am full up!

Watch Now: Race Massacre graves researchers need DNA, genealogies to tie burials to victims Utah Cold Case Coalition Intermountain Forensics is seeking DNA help from anyone who may have relatives from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Researchers think DNA is the best chance for the case known for now as “burial 27” to be the first conclusively identified victim of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. In a project update Wednesday with reporters, University of Oklahoma archaeologist Kary Stackelbeck expressed optimism the team’s efforts could possibly have “successfully located the first victim of the massacre” after a young Black man was exhumed with two bullets from a potter’s field corner of Oaklawn Cemetery.

March

🐇🐰 Whew. Okay, let's just hop back on this horse and go.   March 1: The Air and The Ether -- This little guy is a white amber bomb that only settles into a soft ambergris and, as promised, a very light hint of lavender, after almost an hour of sweet and shimmering white amber. It's ...okay. White amber is a note that I am often a little sensitive to, sometimes to a point of nausea. This didn't quite hit that, but it was a bit of a narrow squeak. Late drydown is largely ambergris, as is usually the case with that note on my skin. This is definitely a nice one if you like white amber, maybe not so much if you were hoping for something bright and airy instead of clear and crystalline and sweet. (eta: 3/4 -- I picked up a low partial from Ajevie, and it's *much* stronger on the lavender and I like it a lot more than my previous decant. So there may be some batch variations present.)   March 2: Gingerbread Dog -- I expected to like this a lot more than I do. The pecan & saffron are very weird with the gingerbread on me and it reminds me a bit of a savory pecan pie, which is not quite the vibe I was hoping. It seems the only nut scent I reliably like is still hazelnut. Also, I swear there’s a hint of red ginger in this year's gingerbread and that’s one of my least favorite notes of all time. It lasted a moderate amount of time and didn't have a lot of throw. But ...man, I was not expecting that pecan note to be so hefty.   March 3: Chocolate Cat -- The vetiver in this is likewise a bit stronger than I expected and goes a bit peanut buttery with a background hint of hairspray, which I do not love. I'm inclined to blame the musk. The honey is likewise not being especially pleasant. It isn't the ultra-thick honey, it feels sort of...antiseptic is the word popping into my head, so I guess it'll do. It's too clean for these notes. I was expecting something thicker and richer and definitely sweeter, and it's not hitting any of that. I kind of like the drydown, as the cacao comes out a bit more and it does get a bit sweeter, but not enough to buy more. Hroom. I'm a little disappointed, tbh. I expected this series to be much nicer on me than the decants I got are indicating.   March 4: Marshmallows, Gumdrops, and Peppermint Canes -- This is weirdly indistinct on me. The mint isn't very forward, but honestly, at first, nothing about this is. It takes almost fifteen minutes to smell like something other than a sweetish, very slightly mentholic blur on my wrists, and I wasn't shy about application. As it dries, I like it more. It develops into a sugary gumdrop fragrance with a fluffy sweet marshmallowy vibe, but like, really good marshmallows, guimauve not staypuft. ;} The clove and anise are soft and candied. ...the whole thing is soft and candied and dreamy, soft and vintage in a faded pastel way. It has no throw and poor lasting power, but it's a pleasant wear after it gets pasts the 'I just puffed sugar dust on my wrists, I guess?' point.   March 5: The Garden of Shut-Eye Town -- IIiiii thought this would be a charming and understated sleepy blend and underestimated the power of the florals involved. I had to wash it off not five minutes in because something or some combination of things was making me feel very ill. It's interesting. I have a tea blend that contains many of the more herbal notes (lavender, passion flower, chamomile, lemon balm) without the more floral wisteria, poppy, or cowslip. It does include valerian root, and it knocks me out pretty darn quick. In the vial, this perfume smells surprisingly similar to the way that tea does when brewed. However, on my skin, it's a lavender-tinted Flower Power Party and...yeah. Not good. I picked up decants of all of this series except The Shore of the Lollypop Sea expecting to feel like I would need full bottles of more than one. Instead, I ended up with a low partial of one and will be chucking all the rest of my decants at friends or swaps.   March 6: Gingerbread Sticky Buns -- Surprisingly yeasty. Sharply cinnamon and ginger -- and again, something like the red ginger note showing up in my nose, like a warm, slightly skanky ginger note rather than a sharp, bitey or rooty ginger note. Somewhat sticky icing-like note. Overall, not to my tastes. More throw than I liked, relatively low lasting power.   March 7: Upslope Fog -- I like Upslope for about thirty seconds and then the stone note comes in and I can’t handle stone notes at all. It’s a funky combo of too sweet (NCD’s was worse for me in that way) and almost metallic? Anyway, that does eventually fade a little and it becomes a slightly muddled outdoorsy scent. I can smell a hint of the misty note I love, but mostly it’s a bit buried under the rest. I think I missed the craggy stones in the scent description when I picked my decants. For more on my thoughts about stone accord, see my distaste for Inganok Jewelers, 13 Hours, and Night's Bridge. Just...pleh. (This was originally written a few days ago. I did test it again, and lasted even less time. Knowing what it was about, I washed it off after a relatively short amount of time.)   March 8: Sea Smoke -- Sea Smoke is pretty much Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife without the honey and with a little bit of ozone substituting for the barely-present mint. That one is much sexier due to the honey, but the later drydown for me is almost identical. Otherwise, this is BPAL’s ambergris & seaweed, straight up. I like it, but I like DotFW more. If I didn’t have that I’d totally pick up a bottle of Sea Smoke. If you were ever about DotFW, get some of this and layer it with something that’s a slightly skanky honey and you’ll have a pretty good approximation. This lasted quite a long time, and the throw was mild, but if DotFW is any indication, it'll get stronger over time.   March 9: Cerise Fog -- This reminds me of a juicier, somewhat sweeter Akuma. The amber is golden and sweet and brightens and smoothes the scent in ways the neroli fights against in Akuma, though they definitely share the orange citrus + raspberry and a sweet, candy-like quality. Later on the sugariness really amps up and it mostly reminds me of flavored cotton candy. Curiously, after a few hours the amber becomes more prominent and I realllly like the way it lingers. This is going on my wishlist for later purchasing.

February

Happy birthday to me? 😀 (yes, it's actually my birthday) 🐇🐇 Also, happy new year~! 🎊   Hmmmm. Sorry for vaporizing unexpectedly. I've been having a problem, almost certainly hormonal, that has resulted in being unable to wear any perfume or most scented lotions because they're all too strong for my nose. Not weird or off, everything still smells correct, it's just too much right now, like my sense of smell has been turned up to eleven. I also had a migraine in there that made everything even worse. I'm not worried about it being Covid -- like I said, nothing smells off, and I haven't heard about things being too strong being a symptom -- nor am I pregnant, but it's really annoying, considering my favorite hobby. 😫 This isn't the first time this particular symptom has occurred, but it's been years since the last time.   So when this weirdness ends, hopefully soon, I'll be backdating the last week of Arcana and catching up on whatever I miss of February. Next week is lightly iffy because I'm going in to have my wisdom teeth removed next Monday and I don't know how long that'll take me out. So, ah, I'm fine, more or less. But it'll be a few days until I'm back properly. -- Feb 15: Hohoho, so that sucked, and still continues to suck a bit, if I'm being totally honest. 😂 Long story short, one was fine and the other one was emphatically not (my dentist described it as one of the most difficult extractions he's performed after over 30 years in the business, lucky me), almost ten days later I still can't open my mouth fully and am still on a squishy foods-only diet, I immediately got a sinus infection due to smol holes between the holes and my sinus cavity...anyway, it's just been a vicodin-laced, deeply unpleasant adventure. I may just call February a wash at this point, though do not put it past me to backdate. 😂 I have learned that when I'm on painkillers I can't smell anything properly, though my sense of taste is weirdly unaffected. But I tested putting perfume on and it was just like, 'nah. Nothing there.'  I suppose it did come with a sinus infection attached, so that may have played a part as well. 😅   Anyway, lesson here being: get your wisdom teeth out when you are young, if you even begin to think you might need to. Alternately, if you're older and only one is actually giving you problems, only take out the one, don't go 'eh, might as well do both while you're there!' because hahaahhahahahahahahah jfc. -- Feb 28: LOL, well, that sure was a month that happened. It's somewhat fallen into 'let us never speak of this again' territory, to be quite honest. My mouth hurts less, but is still not completely healed. ☹️I'll be picking back up again for March (in about an hour!), since my nose seems to have sorted itself out and I've got a few Yule decants to talk about.   eta: Actually, hilariously, I'm not that far off track for the year overall, since I was running two scents a day in January. 😂

BPALentines Questions

Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?)  What notes of coffee do you like?
I tend to like coffees that are described as chocolatey or caramely or nutty. Caffeine or decaf. Whole bean. Flavors are good but I tend to avoid fruity ones. I like warm spices, hazelnut, that sort of thing. Best if you have a local roaster!   Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors? I like plant/animal-themed. I wear hair jewelry and earrings more than anything but also always love a matched set.     What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours? Patterns? Pinks are not my favorite but I don't mind them when blended with other things!  I do swap out some of the art and things like tea towels and stuff in my house for the seasons so some Valentine's themed patterns/colors are fine!    Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone? I love anything with animals/insects/plants on it. Also tiny things - fossils, stones, etc - that I can set on my minatures shelves.
Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? No thanks!

Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? (I'm especially curious if you'd like a copy of American Gods, as I have a spare that needs rehoming): Goodreads in my sig, very active though doesn't necessarily track what I own vs what I've read (lots of my "reading" is via audiobook.) I do indeed own a copy of AG though!

What kind of tea do you like? Type (loose leaf vs bag), and also flavors? We'll drink anything here! I don't drink much straight black tea but the husband will if I don't.

Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, I keep meaning to try their tights! I'm probably a size F. I'm up for anything!    Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? No thanks!    What category of makeup (and what shades) are you most interested in? I don't really wear much makeup but nail polish (wacky colors are fine) or sample size lipsticks are always welcome!
Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now?
No thanks!
Are you interested in incense? What formats?
No thanks!
Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift... She's fine and I don't actively dislike her, will occasionally bop to her music but am definitely not a "fan."   Favorite colors: Blues, purples, teals, ocean colors, forest colors. Not big on pastels and neons.    Things from Mexico:  Spices, seasonings, hot sauces! Just no cilantro please lol    Hats or mittens:  I have so many hats and mittens so no thank you!   Are you into citrus/ fruity scents? Yes yes yes. Citrus especially. I would like to smell like orange juice or lemonade all the time.    Which florals are a yes/no? Death notes? I'm pretty ok on all florals but I love rose, peony, lilac, and orchid the best.    Are you into Skincare/haircare? Sheet masks/cleansers/hair masks? False lashes? I'm not obsessed but I do use sheet masks and hair masks! I wouldn't say no to false lashes but I only wear the magnetic (liner) kind because I can't use the glue.    Does honey work with your skin chem? Buttercream? Honey yes. I avoid baked goods foodie scents so a no on buttercream-heavy scents but they're usually fine when mixed with fruit.    If you said "yes" to OCYL, which houses have you been dying to try? Which ones aren't compatible with your skin chem? I don't have any preferences!    Do you have a personal motto or favorite quote that you would like incorporated into either some stationery/notecards, or done up in calligraphy? "Fear is the mind-killer." (Dune) because I'm a nerd. "When the sun comes up I will leave without a trace; the world was mine today." (Enter the Haggis)

BPALentines Q's

Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?) Flavors? Light roast? Dark Roast? I do both whole bean and ground, and tend to stay away from dark roasts because a lot of them seem bitter.  I tend to lean to the medium roasts.  I like flavored coffee if it's more a suggestion than a wallop, like if I smell it more that taste it, but since a lot are too strongly flavored I tend to go for plain.   LMK if you want anything from Mexico because I'm definitely going across for my birthday on the 29th! ooo...vanilla or dried chiles come to mind, I love to cook so anything spice/seasoning/ingredient wise is up my alley   What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours?  As a rule, I don't do pink or white in wearables. I do like dark reds and other dark or jewel toned colors, black, earth tones.   Wishlist links:  will come back to this   Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors? earrings, generally dangly things, and i have a silver stud of a toxic creature in a second hole on one ear (alternates between scorpion, dart frog, and rattlesnake currently), ear cuffs, sometimes bracelets or anklets, necklaces.  I tend to stick to silver-colored metals or mixed metal, or stuff on cords, no metal allergies to speak of. Stones, beads, whatever. Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone? Really pretty, but too...clearly defined? for my tastes.  I like a little more rustic or interpretive rather than super defined and polished. Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? I'm good on planners, but I do like small journals, either blank or narrow rule pages, to tuck in my bag.   Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? not currently
What kind of tea do you like? Type (loose leaf vs bag), and also flavours?  loose or bagged, anything but rooibos or 'sweet' (licorice root, stevia, whatever)
Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size? I love their stuff!  size F, could use another pair of chub rub shorts, or the capri length.
Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? sure!
What category of makeup (and what shades) are you most interested in? Are you open to loose shadows/bullet lipsticks?  I mostly use loose shadows and lipstick when not masked.  Either bold colors or stuff on the tawny end of the spectrum if neutral, I'm super pale but warm undertone.
Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now?  I love the idea but never have the headspace to really work with anything
Are you interested in incense? What formats?  Alas, not so much, if I use incense I have to burn it outside due to sensitive housemates.
Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift...   I am not the target audience there, sorry.

BPALentines 2022

Updated 1-20-22 pm   Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?) Flavors? Light roast? Dark Roast? I gave quite a bit of detail on this in my survey. Generally speaking, I'm a the darker and stronger the better gal. In terms of flavors, I like chocolaty or boozy. I don't really know what notes I like - all of them?   Things from Mexico? Add me to the vanilla bandwagon - it has gotten SO expensive here. Also happy to get spices, silver jewelry.     What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours? Patterns? I lean toward black, gray and jewel tones - I definitely like reds and dark purples and a little dark pink. In terms of patterns, subtle hearts or cupids would be cool. Otherwise, I love geeky stuff (Star Wars, MCU), celestial, kawaii.   Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors? I love jewelry - the bolder the better. I prefer silvertone or black metals with colored stones or enamel,  modern or art deco type designs or geekery. I mostly wear dangly earrings, medium length necklaces and bracelets.    Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone? OMG, those cicada earrings! I honestly love all of the black metal earrings and the rainbow cicada necklace.    Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? I do find myself using a notepad that has open weekly scheduling laid out. I don't use it every week, but when there's a lot going on, it helps me sort things out. Otherwise, not really.    Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? (I'm especially curious if you'd like a copy of American Gods, as I have a spare that needs rehoming) I have an extensive Goodreads linked at the swap help link in my sig (but I've read American Gods many many times and ran the forum group read on it, so you're probably not sending to me.   What kind of tea do you like? Type (loose leaf vs bag), and also flavours? I don't like super strong teas. I love Earl Gray blends, chocolate and fruity flavors. Bags will probably get slightly more use.    Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size? I would definitely be interested in trying these in a bright color or pattern. I'd be a size E.   Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? No thank you.   What category of makeup (and what shades) are you most interested in? I'm always in the market for eyeshadow crayons in bright colors.    Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now? No thanks.   Are you interested in incense? What formats? Please do not send me incense.    Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift...  Not really.    Are you into citrus/ fruity scents? I am, especially for bath and body products.   Which florals are a yes/no? Death notes? I can do rose, lavender, carnation, lily in small doses. Jasmine is a NOOOOOOO.    Are you into Skincare/haircare? Sheet masks/cleansers/hair masks? False lashes? Sheet masks, yes. Otherwise, not really. I could use a good eye cream!   Does honey work with your skin chem? Buttercream? Honey, yes. Buttercream, no.   If you said "yes" to OCYL, which houses have you been dying to try? Which ones aren't compatible with your skin chem? This is definitely not me.   Favorite Quote? I'm not super into stationary, but my mantra is "Pain is no stronger than the resisting force pain calls up in me. The struggle is equal" from Mina Loy's Partuition.

MsLuker's BPALentine's Swap Answers

I'm new to swaps, and honestly very new to the forum and I keep thinking of things I should have added to my questionnaire! So I thought I'd take the lead of some other folks here and create a post where I could add the answers to the new questions that are popping up and all the things I *should have* originally included!   Me in a nutshell: Ravenclaw. Saggitarius. I'm a school librarian at a K-12 school in western MA, which means I love to read and I'm a big old nerd. My partner and I have two cats and three dogs - all Australian cattledogs or mixes thereof. We also foster for an Australian cattledog rescue association.   I love all things PINK (like the color, not the artist, though she's awesome too!) Side note: I used to hate pink. For years, I hated pink with a passion. And then one day I just...didn't hate it anymore. True story.    See more below:   Household:    Are there any pets/kids/partners you live with who would appreciate BPALentines considerations? Please give as much detail as you can to help out your Cupid -I have a partner named Nicole. She is a dynamo of a realtor, always on the go. Together, we have two cats and 3 dogs. Our dogs are all Australian Cattledogs and we also foster for a cattledog rescue association. We’re a bit obsessed with the breed! The doggos all enjoy snacks and toys for sure. The cats don't do much with snacks and toys as 1 cat is diabetic and the other is super geriatric.   Are you away at any period during the swap?  -Yes, we’ll be out of town from Feb 1-6   Are you okay to ship Intl (outside USA)? -Yes   Do you have any allergies your sender should be aware of?   -Nope!   Something Snacky:   What are your favorite snacks? Salty or sweet? -I like snack food of all kinds a little too much. I’m a sucker for a good peanut butter/chocolate combo. I also adore yogurt pretzels.   Types of snacks/flavors/textures to avoid? -None   Coffee, tea, cocoa, etc? -I am a coffee addict, especially dark roast. I have recently purchased a really good coffee grinder and a pour-over setup so my coffee snobbery can continue. As far as coffee flavors, I'm open to trying anything, but I prefer more subtle things in terms of flavored coffees - in other words I don't want a hit-you-over-the-head kind of flavoring. Bonus points if it's local to wherever you are. Triple bonus points if it furthers a good cause (like dog rescues or women in Appalachia)   As far as tea, I never really had time for it before. I drank too much coffee lol. However, I recently discovered a magnificent tea shop in my small town and that has changed the way I think about it. The shop is owned by a practicing witch and certified herbalist who grows many of her own ingredients. She can talk for hours about what is in each of the teas and what the ingredients do. It's fascinating. I've recently been having some stress-related insomnia and digestive problems, because pandemic, and she was able to recommend a tea that has really helped both issues. So in short, I'm fascinated!   Anything to specifically to AVOID? (veggie/vegan/GF/allergies/etc)  -None   Something Smelly:   What are your favorite scents?  -I dig florals and also foodie scents. (For reference, my favorite BPALS right now are Water of Notre Dame and Muddy Armadillo, which smells like dirt and chocolate). I also love amber and jasmine. I started a wishlist here that I will try to keep updating. I currently find myself searching for scents that are very evocative of lonely, windswept or stormy landscapes. Maybe it's a seasonal thing?   What scents should be avoided? -I tend to avoid the musky, incense-y types. I’m not a patchouli girl, either.    What sorts of scented products would be welcome?? What should be avoided?? (i.e. BPAL only vs. OCYL; soaps vs gels vs scrubs; lotions; candles vs wax tarts vs incense ... it ALL goes HERE)   -I’m open to trying just about anything, however our house only has a shower, no bathtub. I wish I could enjoy bubbles and bath bombs, but alas I can’t.    Something Snuggly:   Favorite sock brands or patterns? (please include sizing/height/etc) -I tend toward the girly side of things and my favorite color is pink, but I also dig rainbows. I’m pretty tall at 5’9” so a medium to large size usually works. I have a thing for striped knee socks, but really anything nerdy and cute works too.   Any things to avoid? (scratchy wool, artificial fibers, tight knee highs?): -Wool makes me itchy, sadly.   What other sorts of things (besides socks) do you think of as "snuggly" which you'd be interested in receiving? -Beanies or stocking caps, gloves or fingerless mitts. I have crazy, ridiculously curly hair, so I'm interested in trying out a satin-lined beanie at some point.   Something "Stationery":   Favorite book genres/authors:  -I’m a school librarian, so I’m a giant book nerd. I read a ton of young adult books. I tend toward fantasy in both the YA and adult categories. Some of my favorite books of all time are The Night Circus, The Starless Sea (I actually re-discovered BPAL through the author’s note in TSS. I think BPAL should do a collaboration with Erin Morgenstern. It would be epic!) Strange the Dreamer, and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. I am a sucker for Outlander and am currently listening to the newest book.   Least favorite genres/authors/anything (i.e., what would you really not want to receive in a book?):  -I’m not big on horror or romance.    Physical book vs. ebook? (please include ebook type if applicable)  -Either one. I also do a ton of audiobooks on my commute.   If Physical book: New vs. used?  -Either one is OK   Do you enjoy/collect stationery? (pens, papers, cards, etc)  -Love it!   If so what sorts of things do you like/dislike?  -Pens, gel pens, planner stickers, I’m really here for all of it.   Something Surprising:   Etsy wishlist that I'm in the process of updating, just for reference.   What are 3 things that you always appreciate receiving? -Anything nerdy/cute, gift cards (I’ve never understood why some people say they’re not a good gift!), and miniature items   Do you collect anything specific? -Nothing specific   How do you feel about handmade goodies?  -Perfectly lovely   Do you have any favorite Valentine's-themed goodies?  -I actually like those conversation hearts candies. I know, I’m weird   If you were a vehicle, what vehicle would you be and why? -A baby blue old school VW Beetle - NOT the remake version. I may be a little clunky and rattly, but I have my own quirky style.   Addendum questions:   So... Jewelry??   I'm enjoying exploring the meanings of gems and crystals right now. For example, I just saw an Etsy jeweler who used blue chalcedony for a necklace and had to look up it's meanings. I fell in love with the stone!
Types? Rings, bracelets, and necklaces are nice. I've pretty much given up on earrings right now due to constant mask-wearing. It just gets to be too much of a hassle. My favorite bracelets are relatively thin, such that I can wear several at a time. My favorite that I wear almost every day is a string of small blue and bronze (Ravenclaw represent!) beads that can be wrapped several times around my wrist. It came from a local jewelery company.    I'd be interested in small and dainty stacking rings, too. Sizes? 8 is a safe ring size - it fits on several of my fingers.  Styles? generally more feminine
Colors? I usually stay away from goldtones, tending toward silver. Pink is also a safe bet.     Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone? Unsure at this time. I'll check it out.    Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? I have done quite a bit of planning! My current setup is a Happy Planner (regular size) hourly layout. I especially like the mix of function/organization and an everyday outlet for creativity that planning provides.    Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? Goodreads link!   Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size? Yes! I've actually been looking at these. Anything in the opaque tights section - size E. It's cold here in New England. Gotta keep the legs covered!   Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? Yes? I haven't even looked at cards, etc. in forever. I'm going through a huge transitional period in my life right now though and feeling like this might be an interesting tool for me.   Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now? Yes, I've actually been looking at these. As I said, I'm going there are huge transitions afoot in my life right now, so anything that helps with clarity of vision, peace, good sleep, etc.    Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift...  Not too much. I don't dislike her.      Are you into citrus/ fruity scents? I don't gravitate toward citrus and fruity, but I don't dislike it.   Which florals are a yes/no? Death notes? I can handle most florals - jasmine, rose, lilac are favorites.   Are you into Skincare/haircare? Sheet masks/cleansers/hair masks? False lashes? My hair is pretty picky and specific. It's curly and has it's own whole thing going on. As for skincare, anything made for dry and sensitive skin is welcome. I live in the northeast in the winter. Enough said.   Does honey work with your skin chem? Buttercream? Yes to both.   If you said "yes" to OCYL, which houses have you been dying to try? Which ones aren't compatible with your skin chem? Unsure. Pretty new to this whole thing, so I'm open to try just about anything.

2022 BPALentines Swap

Tell me what kinds of coffee you like- whole bean? Grind? (If grind, what type?) Flavors? Light roast? Dark Roast? Ground please! I don't have a grinder, so I just buy pre-ground. (I use an aeropress, which recommends using a fine grind or espresso grind, but I find it works just fine with a regular grind). Medium and dark roasts preferred. I like hazelnut and irish cream and pumpkin spice and all those nice and nutty/creamy/bakery-type flavors. I'm always up for trying something unusual too.   LMK if you want anything from Mexico because I'm definitely going across for my birthday on the 29th! Ooh, have fun! I've never been to Mexico or anywhere near it, so I'm not even sure what sorts of things to consider. I do enjoy a good smokey spice though (chipotle, paprika) and I treat sauces/condiments like they're pokemon (gotta collect 'em all!), so something in that vein would be lovely.   What are your favourite colours? Are you happy with Valentine's themed colours?  Historically, purple is my most favorite color, although in recent years I've been skewing towards blue-greens and soft/muted greens pretty hard. Blush tones have made their way into my life as well. I also love copper and rose gold. As for Valentine's colors, I love me a good rich red, like a deep cherry or wine or oxblood. And my preferred pinks are the paler peachy and blush toned ones. And I'll never be mad at a cool-toned neutral, like black, grey, or navy blue.   Wishlist links:  etsy   |   amazon   |   pinterest   |   bpal   Jewelry?? Types? Sizes? Styles? Colors? Certainly! I love dangly, fishhook-type earrings and clasps (no posts please) and I'd like to get back into wearing rings (more delicate ones, in sizes 10 and 10.5). No bracelets please, and only lightweight necklaces that are long. I gravitate towards stones that are in the milky/iridescent realm, like opals and moonstone, as well as blue-green stones and purple stones. Rose quartz can be nice too. Tear drop shapes are my fav. All metals are welcome, but I especially like gold, copper, and rose gold.   Would you be interested in anything from Ravenstone? I've been eyeing a pair of earrings from them for a while, but don't get them for me! lol - I might buy something for my target, in which case I'll add the earrings into my cart when I do so. I'd be open to their candles or incense or bath/body products though!   Do you have any interest in journals, planners, habit trackers, etc.? A blank/non-structured (or lightly structured) journal would be cool, and possibly a habit tracker too. Oh, and a wall calendar would be welcome!   Do you have a goodreads account or somewhere that tracks which books you've already read/own? I sure do - goodreads   What notes of coffee do you like? (answered in the other coffee question)   What kind of tea do you like? Type (loose leaf vs bag), and also flavours? I use both loose leaf and bagged. I love chai and mint and green teas. Fall/winter flavors like apple, pumpkin, chestnut, and spice too. Lighter fruits like peach and tropical fruits, as well as herbals (especially lavender) are all good too!   Would you be interested in anything from https://snagtights.com/, and if so, what is your size? Opaque or ribbed tights in darker solids, size F. Mock garters, fishnets, or leggings would be cool too.   Are you interested in secondhand oracle/tarot decks? No to oracle cards, and tarot cards...maybe. I have a decent sized collection already, so only if it's an aesthetic you really think fits my vibe.   What category of makeup (and what shades) are you most interested in? A muted greigey-pink matte blush would be amazing. Also, eye makeup in matte neutrals or lighter colored duochromes. I don't really need new lipsticks rn, but a berry/burgundy tinted balm would be nice. And nail polish is always welcome - check my "Nails" list on etsy for colors I like!   Are you interested in ritual oils (e.g. Twilight Alchemy Lab stuff)? If so, what kind of intentions/magic resonate with you right now? Yes! Anything for focus/concentration, creativity, selling/business, as well as healing would be wonderful ❤️    Are you interested in incense? What formats? I prefer the shorter stick incense and cones. And I'm not picky on scents.   Super specific, but pls note if you are a fan of Taylor Swift Not really, sorry!   Sizing for tights? I'm 5'4 and wear size 18 pants, so hopefully that should give you an answer on most size charts. If not, ask about the specific brand and I'll let you know!   Are you open to loose shadows/bullet lipsticks? Loose shadows yes. And I'm pretty set on lipsticks, but it's not like I'd be mad about getting one.   If you said yes to hats or mittens, what sort of patterns or designs do you like?  Mittens/gloves would be great. I'd wear them for warmth, so function over form when it comes to design. Thin but warm, and soft would be a plus!   Are you into citrus/ fruity scents? Citrus - absolutely, especially lime. For fruity it depends. I wear a lot of cherry and enjoy a good wine note. I like apple and orange-family-fruits, but my skin usually eats them. I also like pear, champagne grape, pineapple, and mango. I can do strawberry, peach, plum, and fig, but I'm not crazy about them. Coconut seems to work when it's a supporting player but not the star.   Which florals are a yes/no? Death notes? I love gardenia. I also like hyacinth, wisteria, lilac, jasmine, olive blossom, osmanthus, poppy, carnation, and tuberose. Violet is okay in small quantities and when balanced with sweeter notes (it can skew high-pitched otherwise). Orris and iris are death notes. Lotus is a no-go too. Rose and most other flowers are in the risky category. Generally the risky florals work best when sweetened up by other notes.   Are you into Skincare/haircare? Sheet masks/cleansers/hair masks? False lashes? Yes to skincare. I like sheet masks, toners, cleansers, scrubs. I could use a good foot lotion or a lightweight face lotion with SPF. No hair masks or falsies, please.   Does honey work with your skin chem? Buttercream? Honey is GREAT. Not sure about buttercream, but it sounds a little heavy for my skin needs. Maybe just for a foot lotion.   If you said "yes" to OCYL, which houses have you been dying to try? Which ones aren't compatible with your skin chem? No other companies for perfume, but yes for all the other things. I'm game to try anything.   Do you have a personal motto or favorite quote that you would like incorporated into either some stationery/notecards, or done up in calligraphy? Your time is now.
