BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

It’s not quite as fun when you lose the key. Pink cotton candy, candied rose, and vanilla sugar.

Rose and cotton candy on me. The rose fades faster than the sugar/cotton candy smell, making this, on me, more of a cotton candy smell on the long term. And the cotton candy smell sticks around for a decent amount of time.

This reminds me of Un, but where Un is a hard candy, as opposed to Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs cotton candy smell. I also find Un to be a better dupe for Lush's Rose Jam.

Overall, I wish the rose stuck around longer, though this is still a nice cotton candy/rose scent.

Irresistible for me: Beth's vanilla + rose blends make me sit up & beg.

This is primarily candied rose with vanilla sugar on me. The cotton candy is suggested, & I do get a "fluffiness."

Big fluffy throw at first, but it calms down to a very wearable medium-low throw. A real treat.

I love candied/vanilla florals.  Candied rose...is this similar to Hope? I can't recall, I haven't sniffed that one in awhile. It's not screaming "cotton candy" in particular but there's definitely a sugary sweetness. This is a good one.

This is a pink, sugared rose scent.  It is cotton candy and sugared rose.  My skin tends to amp sweetness so the rose is a background note so this is more candy and less floral.

I made a body oil out of this and the scent hangs around for a long time on my skin and clothes.

I got this one on a whim back when it ran.  It's aged very well.  On me it is a perfect 3-way of candied roses, cotton candy, and rock sugar.  The roses have a lot more staying power now than when I first got this.  Loving it.

This one does remind me of Hope, but it never goes dusty on me like Hope does. The cotton candy isn't very prominent until it's been dried for a few hours but then I can sniff it up close. I love this one, the Lab does such beautiful sugared flower scents.

Is this the right place to review the 2024 version? I didn't see a separate entry for it.

Having enjoyed this one a great deal in its first run, I can say with confidence that the new one is exactly what I was expecting: the fluffy sweetness and warmth reminds me of standing over the cotton candy machine as the heated sugar filaments are wound around the stick, perfumed with just a breath of rosy elegance. It's a real mood-lifter for me!

I have no proof of this, but would swear there's an unlisted pale musk element as well -- a nod to the fuzziness of the cuffs, perhaps. I think that's what keeps it airy and light through all the stages of drydown.

Overall this seems to land at a very special intersection: playfully feminine without being cutesy, gourmand without going full foodie. So happy to have it back in rotation!

Wow. Sweet, but not too sweet, and a perfectly jammy but very unique rose I really like! I never, EVER go for rose scents. Pretty unprecedented. Fun, cute, and settles down to a nice not-too obtrusive rose skin scent. Absolutely a mood elevator. Impossible not to feel like this is fun.

This is surprisingly enduring. It starts out a little synthetic-smelling -- I think that's actually how my nose is interpreting the rather green-chilly rose note -- but soon settles down to a soft, sugary vanilla marshmallow-like scent. As it warms on my skin, the rose blends with the vanilla and feels more pink than green. 24 hours later, it's a gorgeous soft sweetness lingering on my wrists.

This is a sweet, soft, lovely scent that reminds me of Pink Snowballs.  I have a love/hate relationship with rose fragrances, and this one is definitely in the love column. I find it to be very consistent and linear - there is very little change from the scent from the bottle through all stages on my skin.  It's a sugary delicate rose with just a hint of fresh floral sharpness to keep it interesting.   I don't specifically get cotton candy from this blend unless I think about it, and I don't find it overly sweet or cloying.   Wearing it makes me feel feminine, delicate, and cozy and I feel like I'll reach for it often when I want something soft and beautiful that is appropriate for wearing in a crowd.

Being first is a first for me! So, a disclaimer that I am not generally a rose lover. I love to stop and smell the roses, but I don't tend to want to smell like them myself. That said, I actually like the rose in this blend!

This will surprise no one, but this is a toothachingly sweet scent, and I don't mean that in a bad way. This was a gamble for me, and while I don't need a bottle, it was fun to try! It smells very true to its notes + like there's a sprinkling of powdered pink sugar on top.

If you want something very sweet and the notes sound good to you, give it a go!

Very sweet, but not the kind of sweet I enjoy. Unfortunately, this rose scent on my skin flirts too close to a cheap, dollar store bath cube for it to be wearable for me.

For those who love sugared, candied rose there is nothing wrong about this scent it'll get you where you want to go (to Sugaroseville obvs), but this one's too rosey for me.

Ugh noo this doesn't work on me!! The cotton candy is glorious, but the candied rose and i guess sugar smell like something i would expect to smell in a high-end bakery and are very in the foreground - it doesn't morph on my skin, as i'd hoped the cotton candy would amp and soften those notes a bit, but alas...

The candy/sugary aspect just is too rough on me, too harsh. Guess this will have to go to someone that will (absolutely) love this!

This is my third time wearing this scent and I pretty much love it. Never thought I would be a rose scent fan, but the rose in this is really jammy and sugary. I put this on lightly, just a dab on my wrists and neck, and I'm surrounded by this delicate, really fuzzy pink scent that's so girly and pretty. The rose is not overbearing, and reads like a sweet pink rose rather than a red one. The sugar adds this fuzzy sweetness, and the vanilla is very light and hardly noticeable. But on days I want to feel like a dainty queen I use this and it is just perfect.

Dried, red rose petals and sweet vanilla.  I don't really get the cotton candy impression.  Just sweet rose with some vanilla.  Doesn't even last a full hour on me.

Soft, sweet pink rose jam and a cuddly vanilla. I wouldn't ID cotton candy per se, but definitely a fluffy sugary vibe without being too sugary for me. I've had pretty good luck with the longevity and throw here, surprisingly.

Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs transforms what could be a cloying rose soliflore into something unexpectedly compelling - like stumbling across a street vendor in some fantastical night market who specializes in tanghulu made not from strawberries or cherries but from enormous, dewy rose petals. Each crystallized bloom catches the neon lights, creating jewel-toned fragments that shatter between your teeth with a satisfying crack. The sugar shell is a hyper-concentrated, almost electric pink that buzzes on your tongue and makes your fillings ache in a kaleidoscopic way. This is a gleeful, rosy, sugar-spun audacity.

This is for the 2025 version.

I love rose and candied/gourmands separately, but have never found one that really made me want a full bottle. Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs has changed that!

On me, this smells like the fresh/dewey/bright rose of Rose Red got wrapped in cotton candy. Rose Red by itself is too green for me to wear as an actual perfume but the additional sugar makes me swoon. On the far dry down (like 6 hours after application) both the rose and cotton candy are mostly gone and it’s a sweet, gentle vanilla with just a hint of rose. This is a full bottle for me without a doubt.

2025 Version

This is a lovely sugary rose! It's in the same family of rose as Rose Quartz Bedroom. If you loved that one, don't sleep on this. I can't separate out the cotton candy and vanilla notes, as they all meld together to create a lovely sweet rose. This is not high-pitched at all. Would also be a great scent for a younger fem person who wants to try something with rose.
