13 Nights of Halloween

Wishlists Amazon (universal wishlist -- includes items from other sites) Etsy   Just for Reference BPAL Bottle Collection (includes bottles on the way at the bottom of the post) BPAL Imps/Decants I Have Kept Non-BPAL Bottles I Own  Non-BPAL Decants I Have Kept   Compiled Swap Questions: If you said you would be happy with homemade things, what types of homemade things would you like best? Non-perishable foods or spreads, any type of perfume storage, artwork, wearables like arm warmers, useful things like pot holders and washcloths...    Do you garden or keep houseplants, and--if so-- would you be interested in seeds or gardening supplies? Every plant I have ever had has quickly met its demise...    What is your favorite Halloween character or creature? I adore bats, cats, and ghosts. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but I'm not sure about a favorite character. Perhaps Zero? My favorite monster/creature would probably be Frankenstein's monster.    ETA: After reading llamadolly's post, I can't believe I forgot about ravens. Love corvids!   Would you be interested in a spooky fabric mask?  What should be on it?  Tie, earloop, or what? I would! I would be happy with one that doesn't say anything on it and just has something like a bat, cat, raven, or ghost on it. A pattern with one of those things would be pretty neat. Earloop would probably be better than a tie, but I am not picky about that. The problem is that I can't wear masks shaped like this because the bridge of my nose is small making it so that the mask won't stay on my face. (I found this out when my boyfriend bought me a Ravenclaw one. We tried tying it in different ways, and it kept falling off my nose.  )   What are you interested in from the BPAL Update?  How about the NAVA update? I'm going to place a BPAL order today because I need the Plague Doctor shirt. I already ordered from the NAVA update when it went live!   How do you feel about stuff being shipped directly to you instead of to me and then to you, so it wouldn't be wrapped but you could still wait to open it?  Bad idea or good idea? I would be fine with this.   New question: Any interest in any candles or other products from Sihaya and Co? The only one I didn't buy from the autumn collection was Celtic Twilight, and that was only because I still have some Autumnvale Cafe from last year and wondered how similar it would be to Samhain Dusk. I'd also be interested in Ginger Fox as a candle (I used to have it in wax melts) and wouldn't say no to a Conversations with the Moon soap!   Do you drink booze? If so, would you be interested in a kit to infuse your favorite varieties? (I've tried these and love them: https://www.etsy.com/shop/InBooze) I drink wine on occasion, but I don't really make cocktails. I'd be up for trying it, though!
There is a place near me that has some of the BEST coffee beans I've personally ever had- would you be interested in receiving a pound or half pound of beans? If so, do you prefer flavored (which ones?), full caffeinated - decaf - half and half?, whole bean or ground? Light or dark roast?  Sadly, I can't drink coffee.  I like the taste, but my body can't handle it.
Also, how about a mug to go with it? If so, what's your mug style- oversized 90's coffeehouse? Tiny espresso demitasse? Ye Standard Coffee Cup? Name it! I like mugs but don't have a preference for size!   The PBSW Weenie Collection just went live (minus lotions and candles which are delayed). Is there anything you're interested in? Any scents you'd like as lotions or candles when they come in? I already ordered this morning because I hadn't placed a summer order and wanted to grab a Pick-a-Duck candle and Fuzzy Scrumpit before the summer stuff sold out. While I ordered some for myself, one can never have too much Putney Road, and I almost ordered a Cathedral of Pumpkins soap, but restrained myself since I still have a mini scrub of it from last year. I've been waiting a month for The Man in the Moon wax melts to come back in stock, but alas. I enjoy their glycerin soaps and emulsifying sugar scrubs the most. Their lotions are too light for me, and I only use shower products.   Urgent question! Would socks make you happy? If so: what size? And what about over the knee socks? Socks always make me happy! My foot size is 5.5 US, but I'll pretty much wear any sock, even if the part for the heel is going up my leg.  Knee highs are my favorite, but over-the-knee and thigh-highs are also nice. I will also wear ankle socks and crew socks. All socks are great!   Do you like animals?   Yes, I love animals!   Any favorites?  Cats, foxes, owls, rabbits, small birds, ravens, bats, squirrels, chipmunks, least weasel... I could go on and on!   And would you like to receive a photo print of a photo I took myself? Any preference on size? Are you okay with just the print, so you can frame it yourself?
A smaller print would be appreciated, and I'd be happy to frame it myself.   And what about photo printed postcards?  Postcards are wonderful!   One of my favorite stores sells perfumed hand-made hair rinse which I love myself. Would you be interested? I'd be interested as long as the scent isn't so strong that it would overpower any hair gloss I applied afterward.   What are your book tastes? Do you have a goodreads? Hmm... give me your top three favorite books! I mostly enjoy fiction/sci-fi. My favorite authors include Lewis Carroll, A. A. Milne, and Douglas Adams. Some of my favorite books are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (I also love the Dirk Gently series), Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, and Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus. I have a Goodreads account, but I haven't updated it in a while. I'll provide the link if I can figure out what my password is (I haven't accessed it since I got a new laptop this year).
Would you like any tea accessories, say like a tea infuser?
I am all set on tea accessories.

Interested in Blackthorn Hoodoo Tea?  Which blends? I currently have Go the **** to Sleep in my pantry. Mercury and Werewolves of London are two of my favorite teas from this company. I've never tried Samhain and would be interested in trying that. Holy Spirit Tea also sounds like it could be nice. I don't like rooibos or mate and dislike chocolate, hibiscus, licorice/anise/fennel, and berry-flavored teas.   Do you like incense?  If so, loose, cone, stick...? I don't dislike incense and have a little Pusheen incense holder dish, but incense always gets passed over for candles and wax melts.   This year we've made apple butter, unsweetened apple sauce, canned sweet cherries, candied jalapenos... which, if any, of these would you welcome?
I would be down for everything except for the candied jalapenos! The apple butter and cherries sound particularly delicious.   Would you be interested in any sort of large bag/purse/tote? If so any themes or colors? A large bag or tote would be great. I don't really use purses, though. My current bag is a Totoro one! I like black, grey, and purple and like goth-y or fandom-related stuff.   I may have gone a little overboard on the nostalgia train and picked up a multitude of bottles from the cute 90s Gothic perfume company, Vampyre. I have three that can potentially be yours: Nocturnas (Sudanese Frankincense is Added to Exquisite Blackberry Essence in this Decadent Enveloping Blend) , Petra Musk ( Aged Red Musk, with it’s Woods, Spices and Musk Notes is Intensified with African Kush Oil,Imparting an Exotic Scent and Reddish Hue to this Elixir) and Blood & Roses (Three Types of the Darkest Rose Essence Dry Down into Rich Musk Bottom Notes in this Mysterious, Unexpectedly Romantic Scent). Alas, none of these sound like they'd be up my alley, note-wise.
Do you cook (or aspire to cook)?  Is there any cooking-related gift that would bring you joy?  Spices, ingredients, cookbook, gadgets, implements... I do cook and bake, although lately, I've mostly been using my InstantPot mini and toaster oven when I cook/bake, because it's so hot here. I could use some new potholders, a new spatula (one you flip things with, not one you mix things/scrape bowls with), an icing knife, and a dough/bench scraper to cut dough more evenly. For cookbooks, I mostly use recipes I find online from Minimalist Baker, Half Baked Harvest, Dessert for Two, and Sally's Baking Addiction, but I'd be interested in this little e-book of pumpkin recipes or one of Christina Lane's small batch dessert cookbooks (I already own Dinner for Two). I have been using the Indian Instant Pot Cookbook: Traditional Indian Dishes Made Easy and Fast by Urvashi Pitre a lot lately, with Aloo Gobi being my go-to recipe.   Is there a BPAL GC bottle (or imps) you have been meaning to buy but haven't?  Especially in light of the Tournament of Underdogs?  What about TAL? The Tournament of the Underdogs makes me think I should pick up a bottle of How Doth the Little Crocodile to start aging. I used up my imps of Kumiho to scent laundry (it's a good scent to use on wool dryer balls), and I think I should probably just grab a bottle of that for that purpose even though I wouldn't wear it as a perfume when I have Baobhan Sith. GC bottles I have half a bottle or less of and have been meaning to add to orders gradually include Alice, Golden Priapus, Poisoned Apple, and Snake Oil (although I rarely wear the latter because I have so many snek variants). And Tombstone is a GC I love to have back-ups of to age like people do with Snake Oil. For TAL, decants would be best, but I'd love to try Bastet's Laughter and Healing.   Are you interested in BPAL storage?  Imps or bottles?  Or small boxes or containers for other items?   I am always interested in BPAL storage! I have so many bottles that are sitting out that need proper storage. I usually like faux book boxes, but wooden boxes are also nice. I recently ordered two coffin shelves from Sourpuss Clothing to hold some of my bottles, and I'm waiting for those to arrive.   Stuffies? Y/N If yes, preferences?  I'm going to echo Nemi25's response on this one. I have a lot of them and probably should say no. But if you see a smaller one that you'd think I'd like, I'd be happy to give it a home!   Hand sanitizer minis? Other things from Bath and Body Works type places? I am indies only and don't really care for BBW products, as they sometimes smell too chemically for me, but my boyfriend would be happy to have some in the car.   I received an extra (un-used, totally sealed) gorgeous pot of Bésame's Brightening Vanilla Rose Face Powder - is this something you'd be pleased to receive? https://besamecosmetics.com/blogs/blog/97500486-new-vanilla-rose-brightening-powder?_pos=6&_sid=37efb2159&_ss=r No, thank you.
Also, I will be in Washington DC in a few days - anything you might like from there? (It doesn't have to be specific to being the Nation's Capital- DC has lots of great and interesting stuff going on!) I've never been to DC. I can't think of anything in specific, but I always appreciate postcards.   Dearest Pumpkin, I harvested my own delicious Kentucky BlueMint back a few months and made a tincture with it, and it is now ready to pour! It can be used in drinks (like mojitos) and as a nice mint flavoring, but I use it medicinally, for tummy upset, digestion issues and other stuff. Would you like a bottle of your own? That sounds great!   Do you have a preference for treat order? Smallest to largest, peaks and zeniths, ramping up to a grande finale, etc? Or would you like to randomly pull whichever mystery package calls to your intuition on a given day? Would you like clues, so you can guess what's in each thing before you open it? No preference! I think that the numbering of packages and little clues can be fun, though!

13 Nights of Halloweeeeeeeen 2020

Updated 8/25/20   If you said you would be happy with homemade things, what types of homemade things would you like best?
Anything? Honestly, jewelry, yarnwork, foodstuffs - all are amazing. (Sorry, I realize that is supremely not helpful.    Do you garden or keep houseplants, and--if so-- would you be interested in seeds or gardening supplies? No thank you. I try regularly, and always kill things.    What is your favorite Halloween character or creature? Bats, spiders, snakes! I love all the creepy crawlies and Jack and Sally from NMBC, and gargoyles...   Would you be interested in a spooky fabric mask?  What should be on it?  Tie, earloop, or what?
OMG YES!!!!! Anything along the lines I've already described. Tie or earloop is fine, although I find I marginally prefer loops..    If you'd like something knit, anything you'd especially adore? (Socks (shoe size), mittens, fingerless mitts, cowl, hat, etc)  Socks (sz 8 US Womens) or fingerless mits or a shawl are the things I'd get the most use out of.      What are you interested in from the BPAL Update?  How about the NAVA update? Nothing from NAVA, thanks. I haven't actually had a chance to look at the BPAL update yet, but I will update my wishlist accordingly...probably next week?   How do you feel about stuff being shipped directly to you instead of to me and then to you, so it wouldn't be wrapped but you could still wait to open it?  Bad idea or good idea? That's fine! I've done that before and just noted what night it's for.    Any interest in any candles or other products from Sihaya and Co?  These candles sound amazing: Autumnvale Cafe
Celtic Twilight
The Dreamer Awakens
II - Full Moon
The plummy lip colors - Twilight Magic, Velvet Bow, and Elixir of Life look fab, as does Harvest Rust. The Enchantress shimmer is cool as well. And I would love to try the paintbox exclusive Ginger Fox in either scrub or soap.   There is a place near me that has some of the BEST coffee beans I've personally ever had- would you be interested in receiving a pound or half pound of beans? If so, do you prefer flavored (which ones?), full caffeinated - decaf - half and half?, whole bean or ground? Light or dark roast?
OOOOOOOH, Yes please! Definitely fully caffeinated, slightly prefer dark roast whole bean, but flexible on both. For flavors, I'd probably prefer a sampler of smaller sizes, just because I am not even sure what I like anymore.
Also, how about a mug to go with it? If so, what's your mug style- oversized 90's coffeehouse? Tiny espresso demitasse? Ye Standard Coffee Cup? Name it! Oversized 90s coffee house for sure.    Do you drink booze? If so, would you be interested in a kit to infuse your favorite varieties? (I've tried these and love them: https://www.etsy.com/shop/InBooze) Answering my own question, I do, and I love these - I've tried the Old Fashioned and the Cucumber Citrus. I really WANT to try the Blackberry Gin Smash, Blueberry Citrus - really anything that is for gin, vodka, whiskey, rum, or tequila. So, you know, pretty much all of them. LOL   Do you like animals?  Any favorites?  I do! Bats, owls, spiders, snakes, penguins, cats, corgis...   And would you like to receive a photo print of a photo I took myself? Any preference on size? Are you okay with just the print, so you can frame it yourself?   This would be lovely, but it is much more likely to go up somewhere if it arrives in a cool frame.    And what about photo printed postcards?  Sure!   One of my favorite stores sells perfumed hand-made hair rinse which I love myself. Would you be interested? Sure! One of the first things to go for me in the pandemic was dying my hair, so I no longer need to use a color depositing conditioner.   The PBSW Weenie Collection just went live (minus lotions and candles which are delayed). Is there anything you're interested in? Any scents you'd like as lotions or candles when they come in? I G.O.A.T. in soap or scrub would be fab.    Would socks make you happy? If so: what size? And what about over the knee socks?  Yes! I'm a women's 8 and usually wear anywhere from knee-high to ankle. Not so much over the knee.    What are your book tastes? Do you have a goodreads? Hmm... give me your top three favorite books! Tons of book info, including goodreads is in my sig. My 3 fave books right now are comfort reads - Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Chalice by Robin McKinley, and...a third one is harder, honestly.
Would you like any tea accessories, say like a tea infuser?
I am good with tea accessories.

Interested in Blackthorn Hoodoo Tea?  Which blends? I am a complete and total atheist, but I find using products that have specific intent to be..unsettling. So I would probably rather not have these, although a lot of these look good.    Do you like incense?  If so, loose, cone, stick...? Please please please do not send me incense.    This year we've made apple butter, unsweetened apple sauce, canned sweet cherries, candied jalapenos... which, if any, of these would you welcome?
OMG, yes, all of these sound amazing, especially the cherries and jalapenos.    Would you be interested in any sort of large bag/purse/tote? If so any themes or colors? Fun shopping bags are great, but I have a ton and am set for most anything else. Nocturnas and Petra Musk both sound really intriguing.
Do you cook (or aspire to cook)?  Is there any cooking-related gift that would bring you joy?  Spices, ingredients, cookbook, gadgets, implements... I think I covered this in my initial questions, but yes! I especially like special spice blends and am always in search of good cooking spoons.   Is there a BPAL GC bottle (or imps) you have been meaning to buy but haven't?  Especially in light of the Tournament of Underdogs?  What about TAL? I actually updated my wishlist today!    Are you interested in BPAL storage?  Imps or bottles?  Or small boxes or containers for other items?   Small containers, especially that I can use for jewelry, would be great. I have a cabinet I use for BPAL.   Stuffies? Y/N If yes, preferences?  Sure! Tentacle Kitty, Pusheen, and Squishables are all frequent purchases over here and always happy for new Kawai-style friends.      Hand sanitizer minis? Other things from Bath and Body Works type places? I just placed a BBW order, but definitely am in the market for decent smelling pocket size hand sanitizer these days.    I received an extra (un-used, totally sealed) gorgeous pot of Bésame's Brightening Vanilla Rose Face Powder - is this something you'd be pleased to receive? https://besamecosmetics.com/blogs/blog/97500486-new-vanilla-rose-brightening-powder?_pos=6&_sid=37efb2159&_ss=r This looks lovely, but I'm concerned that the rose scent would be a bit much for me.
Also, I will be in Washington DC in a few days - anything you might like from there? (It doesn't have to be specific to being the Nation's Capital- DC has lots of great and interesting stuff going on!) I live in the DC area and actually work for a major tourist attraction when it's open, so I can't really think of anything, although I would actually be tickled by something that looks up my alley that would be a sort of cheesy souvenir that a local would never buy themselves. OMG YES   Do you have a preference for treat order? Smallest to largest, peaks and zeniths, ramping up to a grande finale, etc? Or would you like to randomly pull whichever mystery package calls to your intuition on a given day? Would you like clues, so you can guess what's in each thing before you open it? I have no strong preference. Personally, I usually try to build up to something super cool for Halloween and/or the last night, but I am fine with anything.

In 1920, Native Women Sought the Vote. Here’s What They Seek Now. Native women were highly visible in early 20th-century suffrage activism. White suffragists, fascinated by Native matriarchal power, invited Native women to speak at conferences, join parades, and write for their publications. Native suffragists took advantage of these opportunities to speak about pressing issues in their communities — Native voting, land loss and treaty rights. But their stories have largely been forgotten.

Adventures in layering

Instead of spamming the layering thread, I thought I'd just make a page in my notes...  Envy + Squirting Cucumber: Sometimes you just need some cool greens and a cucumber... or at least I do. Good for hot muggy days when I don't care to be reminded of my sweaty flesh prison. The cucumber prevents any soapy tendencies that Envy's lavender can have on me.    Envy + the Apothecary: Comes out as surprisingly strong lavender and tea leaf, with a faint bed of moss and maybe a ghost of ginger, but the citrus and grass disappear almost entirely. So curious, I thought the mint and green herbs would have jumped out.   Tenochtitlan + the Apothecary: Sharp herbal citrus and ginger with sweet prickly pear flare quickly and then suddenly I can barely smell anything. Maybe a whiff of the potpourri that Tenochtitlan reverts to on its own, but mostly nothing. What?? Apothecary has been pretty versatile for layering on my skin, and normally lasts a decently long time even if the throw is variable. I may need to retest Tenochtitlan to figure out what's up as I haven't worn it since my initial test.    Sjofn + the Apothecary: A cool garden of greens surrounding an apple tree. Lots of tea leaf, ginger, and apple flare at first, then fade to subtle apple peel with a good grass note. Definitely a summer blend I'll wear again.    Sjofn + Ranger: that early stage of fall when leaves are greenish-gold and apples are ripening on the trees. Evergreen and hay notes from Ranger give the impression of apple trees in the midst of a forest instead of an orchard.    Ranger + Coyote: a northern coyote instead of a southwestern one. Excellent, fresh and piney and herbal with a warm amber and musk base.    Robin Goodfellow + Squirting Cucumber: Bright wet green plus golden-brown musky forest equals salad in the woods? I mean, it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but not really special either.    Robin Goodfellow + Coyote: Sage musk. Starts off greenish and then softens to brown, but a darker and less fuzzy brown than Coyote on its own. Very snuggly, good for a grey day.    Ranger + the Apothecary: Sharp tea leaf and pine when wet, turns slightly ginger and then begins sweetening as it dries. The patchouli blast I usually get with Ranger alone is tamped down a bit. I get a whiff of green when I turn my head, but overall the medley of herbs and faint trees stays close to the skin on me.    Druid + Zombi: Ahh. Glorious garden soil with dry roses and incense and lots of shade. Heady but grounded, dirty and fresh, growing and decaying... I may live in this combination forever.    Zombi + Crossroads: I was hoping the extra soil would calm down the screechy lilies in Crossroads... alas, no dice.    Iago + the Black Rider: Very Leather when wet, as Iago is much more prominent to start with. Dries to a musky, semisweet leather edged with vetiver and tobacco. Adds another dimension to both scents--softer depth to Iago, and higher spikes to Black Rider. Definitely recommend for leather aficionados.    Czernobog + Cthulhu: Don't ask why, just enjoy the salty vetiver/mullein musk. It's freshly herbal, and then slightly threatening, and then finishes musky. I think this is more how I thought Cthulhu would smell on its own before I tested it.    Blood Kiss + Fighter: Have I gone mad? Yes. The tannin-sour leather from Fighter is still dominant as a base. Blood Kiss' cherry wine disappears and I get what must be a clove/vetiver Fighter with just a tiny tinge of vanilla when I get close... and something else? Is it blood and poppy? My nose has completely lost the plot here; I can't stop smelling myself to try and puzzle out this combo.
Blood Kiss + Nosferatu: spooky scary cherry wine, at least at first. A spiced wine that’s delicious, definitely poisoned, and may contain actual blood. The vanilla/honey from Blood Kiss ends up dominating the end of the dry down to become gourmand, which I find very odd. Might need to weigh this more heavily with Nosferatu for optimum seductive spook.    Strangler Fig + All Night Long: Christmas figgy cinnamon. They complement each other well, but the result isn't really me.    To test...   Robin Goodfellow + Ranger, Rogue + Coyote, 93 Engine + Dee, Bow and Crown of Conquest + Crossroads, Deadly Nightshade Honey + Czernobog, Deadly Nightshade Honey + Sjofn.

Scents tested and results

Alphabetical... After the Winter: smells like the flora of Hawaii. I am deceased. All Night Long: turns into red hot candies on me, no thanks. A Moonlit Winter Landscape: moody snow-soaked soil and fragments of iris. Very mysterious. An Open Grave Underneath the Heavy Leaves: sharp herbal fall grasses, so invigorating.  Antikythera Mechanism: delicious and comforting, perfect for snuggling with a book and glass of whisky. Apothecary: nice on it's own, layers very well with other green scents.  Athens: wasn't expecting to like this a lot, but I think it's growing on me. Myrrh and honey are * chef's kiss *   Baobhan Sith: like embalming fluid, but more grapefruit than lime. refreshing.  Black Rider: like this a lot and was very pleasantly surprised at how it mellows on my skin. Black Tower: melancholy, pensive, mysterious. In my daily wear rotation.  Blood Kiss: not for me. I recognize that this is purely because I dislike cherries and the rest of the scent is perfectly decent. Bookcase Passage: yaaasss woods and books! Not sweet like other wood blends on me. Bow and Crown of Conquest: an elegant scent to me, subtle enough florals that I'll actually wear it. Brown Jenkin: effing orris doesn't always play nice with my skin. Such a shame... nice in my hair tho!   Coyote: soft suede and fur. I miss having a dog in the house. Crossroads: I wanted to like it. I do not, in fact, like it. Jasmine/lilies are not for me. Cthulhu: kind of soapy and non-perfumey, but the cat didn't hate it like he does other aquatics. *shrug * Czernobog: a hell of a smell, requires a definite mood from me. I have worn it solo, though, and the dry down is very intriguing.   Dana O'Shee: goes plasticky and weird. Nope. Darkness: a big mood, as the youths say. Hoping the narcissus mellows some with age.  Deadly Nightshade Honey: turns to mostly honey and not much nightshade, but I'm not mad at it.  Dee: also very comforting, classy and very wearable. Competes with Druid as my favorite BPAL scent. Deep in Earth: ahhh, yes. Zombi without the big ass rose.  Djinn: goes cold? sort of cinnamon? idk man. Druid: I'm in love. Will eventually order a real bottle and hoard this until the end of time.   Embalming Fluid: super clean and cool, not soapy but reminiscent of very expensive soap.  Enkindled Spring: if Samhain is FALL, this is SPRING.  Envy: a good scent if I need something refreshing, very chill. Fighter: I waffle on whether or not I actually like this, depends on how I feel about the blood/steel note and what my skin chemistry does on that day.  Frog Moon: so green, I love. Late spring/summer feel.   Hecate: nah, can't handle the almonds. Iago: usually a touch cologne-y for me, works nicely when layered with Black Rider.  Lady Macbeth: very fruit? and a tiny bit of thyme.  Liquid Gold is in the Air: magical airy gold, settles down into something sweet and soft. Beautiful, ethereal. Kabuki: no, cherries and red musk are not good.   Monk: much better on the skin when the sandalwood warms up. Nosferatu: wine tasting in a vampire's dungeon. I'm gonna drench myself in this for Halloween. No. 93 Engine: so unique and well blended, the sort of oddity I didn't know I needed in my life. Partridges in Snow: lil brown maple chestnut birb. Adorable.  Queen: confusing. Too sweetish musty for me to wear.  Ranger: depending on monthly skin chemistry can give a patchouli blast when first in contact with my skin.  Robin Goodfellow: love, probably will order a bottle eventually. Really I just want to smell like a forest. Rogue: nice, plan to test layering with other leather or green scents. Roses, Pearls, and Diamonds: goes horribly cloying on me. Sad, because I kind of liked this in the imp despite my aversion to florals.   Samhain: FALL, decent throw and long wear. Shell Box: Gram's perfume at the beach, transformed.  Sherlock Holmes: I.. don't know. What the fuck is up with that greasepaint note?     Sjofn: so good, I loved picking apples in the orchard as a kid and this is definitely a basket of golden delicious apples. Sloth: like Czernobog, not an everyday scent and sort of harsh to my nose.  Strangler Fig: sweeter than I really like. Not so much a green scent as soft brown for me. Squirting Cucumber: less "refreshing" than Envy, but sometimes you just need some grass and cucumber in your life.  Tenochtitlan: prickly pear potpourri. Not for my skin, apparently. Theoi Nomioi: mountain pine forest.  They Shut Me Up in Prose: decadent vanilla/sandalwood. This is my vanilla now.  Wheat Stacks, Snow Effect: delicate peach and rooibos finishes with hay. Unlike any other scent I have.  Zombi: a good rose for someone who loves the smell of fresh earth. I wish the rose was less forward in the dry down, but hey.     To test... Delight.

New Year's Swap 19-20

Updated 11/20/19   Would you like anything from Spireside candles? https://spireside.com/ I'm not really up for candles at this point, but the whipped soaps in Flight of the Pegasus and Beauty Sleep look good. And poking around in the candles, pretty much all of the holiday ones really do sound amazing, especially the Yeti and Jungle Bells and Wizard Ball scents.    Are you interested in anything from Bird and Blend Tea Company? Snowball teabags look delightful. Generally, caffeine free chocolate flavors are my jam.   On the decorating spectrum, do you head more towards classic/stylish or towards cheesy/kitsch? Definitely the latter, but not country kitchy, more geeky/silly.   Fiber artists! (Knitters, weavers, crocheters etc) How would you like to get some nice yarn? No thank you.   Is there any animal you feel a strong connection with? Corgis, tortie cats, bats, dragons, penguins, the owl that lives in my backyard, our ball python   Books - there is a TON of info in my other blog posts and everything I've read in the past 12 years is in Goodreads, so I will send you there.   Cowl or fingerless mitts (these are the only things I'll have time to do.) - if a cowl, do you want something like a double length cowl, or a cowl that looks like a shawl,  a large bulky cowl, or a short tighter type cowl?  (not necessarily these patterns, although if you love the pattern I can do it.  I welcome photos of what you want.) - if fingerless mitts, how long do you like them over the fingers, how far past the wrist, and how large are your hands, wrists, and arms in inches? I would ABSOLUTELY love a double length or shawl-like cowl.   Is merino wool ok or do you have allergies I need to be aware of?  (most of my stash is Merino or a blend of Merino, Cashmere, or Silk.) Marino and blends are fine.

NYE Solstice Swap

Would you like anything from Spireside candles? https://spireside.com/ I freaking LOVE candles but right now I'm having a hard time burning them and still being able to breathe (chronic respiratory issues) so those and incense are probably out for me.  I just told my son that he can have/use my huge stash of partylite candles from when I was a seller.  So I guess the answer is "no candles please" - if I burn them, I pay for it with coughing, wheezing, and much emergency inhaler use over the next couple of weeks.  Would totally welcome tarts though!  I don't see a scent list there and I don't want to click through things one by one (it hurts to sit at computer for very long, sorry.)  Doesn't look like wax melts are up at Sihaya yet either but honestly, all of their winter 2019 collection sounds like it would be lovely as wax melts.  Maybe especially Fireside Tales, Warm Woolen Mittens, Winter Rose (I LOVE ROSE), and Everwinter Woods.     The WInter Collection (Winter 2019) Cookie Party!: The scent of cozy kitchen chaos! Snickerdoodle cookies baking in the oven, oatmeal cookies piped with marshmallow frosting, and sweet sugar cookies cooling on the rack!
Courage, Comfort, & Joy: Glad tidings of warmth and hope. A collection of traditional wintertide scents to brighten the darkest nights. Mulberry, lingonberry, red apple, fir needle, and cozy wintry spices.
Everwinter Woods: The scent of the mountains shrouded in ice. A forest of evergreen and spruce, chilling ozone top notes of whipping winds, and a hint of shivering eucalyptus.
Fireside Tales: This scent is in honor of the nearly-forgotten tradition of telling ghost stories around the Yuletide hearth. Crackling boughs of cedar and birch, glowing embers, and the soft spice of saffron.
Gingerbread Latte: A steaming cup of cheer. A gingerbread latte topped with whipped cream and a decadent drizzle of caramel.
Old Saint Nick: Cherry pipe smoke, cozy hearth woods, and roasted chestnut.
Spiced Wassail: Fine health to thee! A warm mug of cider spiced with a strong kick of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to keep you snug while the carolers sing.
The Court In Splendour: Glad Tidings from the King! The scent of the Tudor court at Yuletide. A festive blend of bayberry and tart cranberry on a bed of warm balsam and spice.
The Memory Of Snow: Silky almond cream, delicate spun sugar, a dash of nutmeg, and the memory of snow.
Warm Woolen Mittens: Comfort in the coldest months. Warm wool, sprigs of lavender, and softly smoked vanilla.
Winter Rose: A single red rose, freshly plucked and placed upon a bed of bayberry and green boughs of holly, ivy, and balsam.
Yuletide: A classic home for the holidays scent. Pine boughs strung with orange clove pomanders and cranberries, and then merrily wound throughout the home!      Are you interested in anything from Bird and Blend Tea Company? (https://birdandblendtea.com/us_en/)   Bonfire Toffee
Great British Cuppa
Terry's Orange Chocolate
Aniseed Balls
Smoky Russian
Vicky's Sponge Cake - small amounts (1 oz or less) would be great since I have a *lot* of tea and I hate my parent's kettle, so I rarely make tea.  I need to get an electric kettle for my room or something.       The story part-Books... Can you be more specific about any particular books you are interested in reading?   Do you have any wishlist links?  I tend to get way more books than I can read (advance reading copies and the like) and I only do books on .mobi or .epub (kindle or ibooks) since my eyes are going and I need to be able to enlarge the font.   My amazon wishlist is linked in my SW Help in my signature, but for ease... my amazon wishlists.  Please make sure it's sorted by priority.      I'd be happy to have "story" interpreted in artwork or a knitting pattern on my wishlist or however you want to interpret it.   Are role playing games stories?  I think so!  I have a wishlist on gog.com and another on Steam though I'm not sure how to share it (right now the only thing is Anchorhead which is a Lovecraftian graphics/text adventure, so retro and very interactive story.)  So a steam gift card would be lovely!   As far as dvd's as stories, I'm missing Red Dwarf V, VI, VII, and XII on dvd and would gleefully welcome those.  The only other things I really want right now are the extended versions of LOTR and the Hobbit movies on blu-ray and those are expensive, so ...    As far as music goes, I would greatly welcome something like an itunes GC.  But I'll take CDs, mp3, or whatever as well if you want to send a thumbdrive or burned cd.  I can always rip back to mp3 and put on my computer and then phone/ipod or I can play cd's in my car. I mostly only listen to music when driving (on cd or my ipod/iphone) or when showering (on my ipod.)   On the decorating spectrum, do you head more towards classic/stylish or towards cheesy/kitsch? Probably neither?  hahaha.   Nerdy/Gothy?  My furniture and desk are grey/black and are marble/granite style.  My bistro table is grey marble.  My bed sheets are generally grey/black/eggplant.  I have Nightmare Before Christmas comforters.  or eggplant/black/dark grey.  I have many iron/glass/silver/plaster with grey finish sconces.  My artwork frames are all black.  A lot of my artwork is black/white.  I have tons of grotesques and gargoyles.  I collect NMBC cookie jars.  I'm pretty overloaded with decorations right now since I'm staying with family and can only decorate my room.  Most of my stuff is packed up.  OH.  You probably mean Christmas decorations.  Ummm I would love more gothy/nerdy tree ornaments, like NMBC.  Unicorns, dragons... but not cheesy ones, nice ones.  *wink*  My mom used to get me a different Hallmark series ornament every year for my birthday but I think she forgot this year (right now the series is "a pony for christmas" or something like that.  I have all of the rocking horses in the series that ended.)  I would love a cthulhu tree topper... I really like Krampus things too.  Or a weeping angel tree topper... (I have a weeping angel tree ornament.)   Fiber artists! (Knitters, weavers, crocheters etc) How would you like to get some nice yarn? I'm pretty overloaded in yarn right now but as long as it isn't acrylic I can probably find a use for it.  I prefer black/grey/white/blues/purples/dark reds/dark greens.  (no yellow, orange, tan, cream, brown.)  No variegated yarn please - I'm only doing solids/semi-solids and graduated.  Self striping is ok if it's DK or above.   Is there any animal you feel a strong connection with? Many.  Pit bulls, Friesian horses, bats, corvids, dolphins, leafy sea dragons.  Mythical would be gargoyles of all sorts (especially winged dogs), hippocampus and equines of all sorts... thestrals!  (so many creatures in the HP world.)

12 Days of Christmas 2019

Updated 11/21/19   What are you feelings about chocolate? Not the drink, but the candy. If you like it, what sort? I covered this pretty thoroughly in my questionnaire, but I love chocolate. I prefer milk and white to dark and I love fruit and nuts and other bits in, as well as truffles and other non-bar chocolates.    Do you like animals? Any favourites? And would you like to receive framed animal photo’s?   I do like animals, especially bats, owls, spiders, penguins, snakes, lizards, beetles. I probably would not have a place for a framed photo though.   When it comes to art, would you like to receive printed art? If so: what style? I really don't have wall space.    Any Trader Joe’s goodies you really love? I don't really have any faves. We have them locally, but not conveniently, so I don't go there often.     for those folks who like candles/tarts/incense... what companies/scents do you favorite??  anything/place to strictly stay away from??   This is about the only time of year I burn candles, but I don't really need more. I don't do tarts and please DO NOT send me incense.     If you wear jewelry, what's your style?? I tend to be pretty go big or go home with my jewelry. I like big dangly earrings and chunky necklaces and things with interesting astronomy themes. I do not wear gold or rings or earrings with posts.    Would you like/do you need a smallish sized box I would paint? It could be very small or a little bigger to hold some bpal bottles or similar.  I don't have a specific need, but if something calls to you, I am always happy for more little storage options. I would definitely prefer it not to have dividers or other customization, since I probably will not use it for bottles, but rather for jewelry or other things that are overrunning my dresser.   If I were placing a Tentacle Kitty order, would you want a Little One to hop in the box for you? This is my own question, but I seriously lurve Tentacle Kitty. I am ordering the tortie one for my daughter, but I love the snowflake and santa hat ones in particular.   What are your feelings about fruitcake?  I make little mini-muffin bites with dried fruit that soaks in good quality booze for at least a month, not your average grocery store monstrosity.  I always want to try anyone's fruitcake, so yes please!   Do you care if a book is used or not? Not a bit.   Do you use sugar or honey in your tea/coffee. If you only use one, would you like to try the other? I don't really, but I do like infused or different honey varietals and infused sugars for other purposes.   Do you enjoy nuts? Most of the time I prefer nuts in mixes with other things - fruit, chocolate, that sort of thing or with spices. BUT, my husband LOVES nuts, so he would definitely be happy.   What is your favorite category of candy (ie gummies, chocolates, pure sugar [like nerds or pixie sticks])? Probably chocolates and licorice (the rich black stuff, not fruity, but I also love jelly beans and allsorts). I'm also a fan of sour gummies.    Are you interested in spices, herbs, or blends from Penzeys or similar? I have a lot already, so I'm probably good. If you have a favorite blend from someplace else, I'm definitely game.    You find yourself in IKEA without proper adult supervision. Why do you get kindly escorted out by security and/or make your local evening news? Probably for sleeping on one of the couches covered by those furry white shirling rugs.   How do you feel about bugs? I LOVE BUGS. Especially beetles and butterflies, but generally, I love bugs and bug related things (although maybe not like cricket flour or anything).

Switch Witch 2019

Would you like anything from Future Primitive? (It's fine to mention OOS things, I've probably already bought it! ? ) Sure! Products: Probably sugar scrubs (either currently listed), soaps (whipped or bar), or body creams. Scents: Clotted Peach Cream, Dark Carnival, Dragonsblood Brown Sugar (Scrub), Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Ghost Smoke, The Gloaming, Nutcracker, Orange Coconut Mallow, Pandemonium, Rook & Raven, Sparklebox.   Does anyone have a favorite horror movie that they love? Need a copy/DVD of?  I’m not really into horror movies. If I had to name a favorite, it’d probably be Cabin in the Woods, which probably tells you everything you need to know (and I already own it). I do collect animals-run-amok (horror-lite) movies, preferably from the 1980s or later (the B&W ones have a different sensibility, like the creators might have known they were cheesy but they didn’t expect their audience to find them cheesy, and I don’t like watching movies with real animals made pre-AHA-monitoring of animal treatment—CGI solved a lot of ethical problems while making films even cheesier!).
I’d be open to receiving a werewolf movie of some sort, but I tend to watch those with the sound muted and my hands over my eyes… I’d love to have a copy of April Fool’s Day (1986), if that’s out on DVD. It might be terrible, but I remember enjoying it as a kid.   Do you like smallish knitted stuff (hats, fingerless mittens, scarves, toys, etc. -- be specific!)?
Yes, especially fingerless mittens (I have kind of small hands—the base of my middle finger to the base of my palm is only 3.5”, so small but stretchy is best; if there’s more than about 1-1.25” of mitten past the top of the thumbhole, I get really fidgety). Simple scarves are always welcome, especially weird and funky yarns. I recently saw some crochet bumble bee patterns that were adorable.   Do any of these knitted items appeal to you? 1.       Easy Fingerless Mittens—Yes, but you’d have to remove about an inch off the finger length (and then adjust even more for my stumpy hands). I don’t like to have my pinky and thumb swallowed up like in the samples in the photos. 2.       Pfeilraupe Asymmetrical Scarf—That’s gorgeous, but also looks like more effort than I can afford to put into wearing a scarf. 3.       Odyssey Shawl—I’m not much of a shawl person. 4.       Close to You scarf—Too drafty for our winters. ? 5.       Rikke Slouch Hat—Also not much of a hat person. 6.       Simple Yet Effective Cowl—Also not much of a pull-things-over-my-head person. 7.       Knitted Pumpkins—Probably not. 8.       Little Bear Stuffy—Yep, I do like stuffies with personality.   How do you feel about thrift store finds (assuming they're in good condition and have been thoroughly cleaned before shipping)?
I like them!   I may have bought several full size Rituel de Fille makeup items in a frenzy over their whole vibe. If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested?  Sure, BUT: I’m a real amateur (I only use 4 make-up brushes!), so unless it’s an eyeshadow sort of product, you could probably find someone who’d make better use of them.   Are you interested in trying different skincare products from higher end, clean brands?
Maybe? Not an all-over daily face product, because I’m pretty happy with my routine at this point and I’d rather not become addicted to an expensive new product when olive oil is working so well for me. ? But if you had samples of an eye cream or some other targeted-use product, that might be a good fit.   OH, and any interest in anything from Torrid, noting their "fangirl" and Halloween collections are updated?
I’m not into any of the fandoms I saw. I kind of like the bat/moon hipster panties (I’m a size 10).    What on the following list would you like to receive something related to (or have something donated to in your and Joni's honor?) animal rescue pie dogs bears turtles inappropriate candies (either in shape or in contents—ex., boozy candies, creatively shaped peanut brittle…) Pretty much anything here. Dogs and pie would probably be last in preference for anything decorative in nature, but certainly a donation to a dog rescue of some sort would not be amiss. (A donation to turtle or bear rescue would be fantastic as well; pie rescue, maybe not so much.) I don’t drink, so “boozy” candies aren’t winners per se, but I do like rum, brandy, and tequila flavored things, minus the alcohol.   I'll be going to Seattle, London and Paris during this round- anything you'd love to have from any of these locations? I can’t think of anything specific. Though if you’re thrifting in London and see a T-shirt with an angry (but cute, cartoony) highland cow’s face on it that says “mad cow,” I’d be interested in that. They were selling them at the tourist stops all over Scotland when I went years ago, but once I decided I needed one, I never saw them again. I’ve never even found a picture of one online.   Is there anything you would particularly like from Japan? Stationary, bento supplies, a particular snack, etc. The fall flavors for kitkats this year are Chestnut, Sweet Potato and Apple Pie. Chestnut Kit-Kats sound interesting.   Thinking about really good natural food stores like Natural Grocers or Whole Foods, if you could have ANY bath and beauty or body care items, what would you love? I'm not familiar with their offerings, but probably scrubs or cooling mists for summer would be best.   Also what kind of treats, snacks, foods, condiments, bulk items, teas, housewares from the same natural food stores would you love? Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? Whatever's in my questionnaire re: food should cover it. I can't really think of any housewares I lack, but I'm sure there's something out there that would make my life easier I just don't know about yet!   Did anything catch your eye from the Liliths? I'm curious about Bullseye, Impromptu Goat Yoga, My Tiger, That Villain Romeo, and You're a Daisy If You Have.    Would you like anything from Lush? I don't know. I've never shopped there.   So, there's a Euro coin of some denomination coming out with Asterix on it.... Is there anything kind of weird and niche about which you feel this way, fellow witchees?
Maybe Wallace and Gromit? I'll have to do some thinking...  ETA: As may be obvious from my questionnaire, all things Wonderfalls (e.g., smoosh-faced wax lion --- I'm waiting for someone to make a 3D printing pattern for that) or Community (e.g., Torg the troll, any merch).   I know a number of BPALies attend Dragon Con. Would any of you be interested in handmade earrings in the (in)famous Marriott Carpet pattern? I never-ever wear earrings.   Kickstarter (and similar):  Any thoughts, witches?
I don't spend any time on Kickstarter, so I don't have thoughts. I tend to learn about campaigns elsewhere, but I've only ever backed one.   Do you have an Etsy/Goodreads/Amazon or anything else wishlist you’d like to share? Goodreads is in my questionnaire; I'm CluckingBell on there, too. I didn't know we can't search for wishlists on Amazon anymore—that's annoying! Mine's at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1QBSWBQ53YDWD?ref_=wl_share I don't have much on there, but I did realize I have the first two seasons of WKRP.
And what’s your preferred wrist/necklace size?
Wrist is none, really. I don't like having things on my wrists. Necklace is probably in the 16-18" range. Nothing bulky or clunky.   Does anything from Bird & Blend take your fancy? If there's a chai tea that tastes as good as Svarta Fönix Bókaflóð smells, I'd like to try that. Otherwise, refer to my questionnaire for tea stuff.   ...how about wash cloths, anyone need any?  What colors??   I have more washcloths than I can handle at the moment. I did accidentally leave a hand towel and dish towel in rental a few weeks ago, if you run across a nice set in a thrift shop or something (used towels are so much more absorbent than new anyway). No strong preferences as to color. My bathroom and kitchen are beige, so almost any color will work. Cute cats or chickens or other designs would be fun in the kitchen, and anything but dark brown or black in the bathroom.    is there anything from World Market that tickles your fancy?  I haven't been in so long I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe something cute for Halloween? A bumble bee towel?    There's a special thing happening over at Rituel de Fille this weekend, where some gorgeous makeup items are coming back for just a couple of days. I'll be placing an order Sunday or Monday- anything that might strike your fancy, either from the special sale or from the site in general? (https://ritueldefille.com)
Their eye soots are lovely (anything but blue for me), but also probably too high-class for my skills and the canvas I have to work with. If you get something coppery or purplish for yourself and want to send a small sample, though, I wouldn't complain. ? How do you feel about tarot or oracle decks?  Would you be interested in any (for artwork or for mystical purposes)?  New or used? I'm interested in all of them, for both artwork and mystical purposes. New or used. I don't have a big collection: mini Rider-Waite and Crowley Thoth tarots, the Druid Craft tarot, and a Cary-Yale Visconti reproduction I found at a consignment shop a couple years ago. And "Medicine Cards," which is mostly animal symbolism. Open to any others!   Would pigment samples from companies like M.A.C. or Notoriously Morbid tickle your fancy? If so, what colors catch you eye? Probably no more than any other company. I'm pretty unsophisticated when it comes to make-up, and I don't use it to make statements. Coppers and browns for eyes (I don't mind shine or metallics here); pale, matte shades for cheeks or lips. That's pretty much it for me.   Do you have a favourite saying or quote?
"If nothing else works, then a total, pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."  —General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett   How do you feel about spicy foods, and where on the Scoville scale do you hit your limit?
I've never been really big on spicy foods, but I'm just altogether too old for them now. They make my tummy hurt! I'll survive a little cayenne or jalapeno, but for the most part I try to stay in the green zone these days.
How do you feel about coloring books, especially those pertaining to a personal interest or fandom? I like them fine, though I don't have much time to work on them. My mom gave me the Firefly one; I think I have the Princess Bride one on my Amazon wishlist. I don't know what else might be out there.   A few questions have been asked about knitted items--are crocheted equivalents acceptable?  (crocheted fingerless gloves, shawls, etc.) Any fiber issues? Crochet is fine. Re: fiber, no allergies, but please avoid scratchy stuff for anything that touches my neck or wrists, please.   About the Weenies: please list what you've bought or are definitely purchasing for yourself *as well as* what you would like to possibly receive from someone else!  Nothing jumped out at me as must-haves on first perusal. I'm curious about Carotene, Song of Autumn III, and Song of Autumn IV, and usually anything with apricot or oakmoss.   Dear Witchee, are you at all boozy?  Anywhere between hard cider to straight whisk(e)y?  And any interest in the "unusual" stuff? (unusual as in non-mainstream, local craft ciders or meads, regional fruit wines, experiments from local distilleries, etc)
Occasional margarita cupcakes is as far as it goes. I never learned to like alcohol.   Nail Polish: Do you need or want some?  If so, what colors and brands are you interested in?
Definitely don't need any. I'm always game for fast-drying metallics/chromes. Open to other colors as long as they're fast-drying and don't require multiple coats.   Does anyone else do nail wraps? Not me.   What about postcards? Fine by me. Not something I collect, but still cute as a form of communication.   Is anyone interested in anything from the Nocturne Alchemy Halloween release (or, presumably, anything else from the site)? I'm not really familiar with their stuff. This Mortal Coil, Moonsand, and Hekate Cat look interesting.   How do you feel about salt? I don’t mean, like, salted nuts or potato chips. I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt. Don't use it, but I'm open to new experiences, as long as they're vegetarian.   I am infamous for baking (shortbreads savory and sweet, poundcake, various cookies and bars), butter caramels (flavored or plain), and catnip.  Are any of these relevant to you or your household?
Any and all. I like sugar, especially if it isn't pumpkin spice or carrot cake. And doesn't have a bunch of dried fruit.   Do you like to cook and do you need/want any spices for such pursuits?
I like easy cooking, so I'm always looking for spice blends that will go well with stir-fries, eggs, roasted veggies, etc.   Would you wear any of these?  Nuada and Manannan would definitely get some use here.   Do you have any utilitarian needs for everyday life? Things that would help or that you've been needing or wanting for work or whatever?
Undoubtedly, but I can't think of any right now.    What kind of vegan snacks do you like? And vegan chocolate...favorites? Primal Strips (especially teriyaki or hickory-smoked). I'm sure I'd like any chocolates, but I'm not familiar with any specific brands. Obvious salty stuff like pretzels, popcorn, Veggie Straws...   How would you describe your crafting style? Whimsical & Cute?  Elegantly modern?  Totally Traditional? Probably somewhere between traditional and whimsical.   So....we are about to process a metric f*ton of green tomato relish, which is basically bread and butter pickles but with sliced green cherry tomatoes.  Is this relevant to any witchees? Generally not a fan of sweet pickles/relishes.   How do you celebrate Halloween/Samhain?  Do you dress up?  Would you like something for your costume?  And am I the only person left on the planet who wears socks? Buy candy, knowing I won't get trick-or-treaters, watch scary movie, eat candy. I wear socks, including Halloween-themed socks.   Are you interested in anything from Art Of Tea or Adagio Teas? Probably not, but I'll refer you to my questionnaire.
I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Would you be interested in receiving a set in the colors of your choosing? I don't know what those are, and Googling only got me alopecia results, but it doesn't sound like something I would use.   And a quick question here--I'm going to this amazing looking event on Saturday--does my witchee see anything they might be interested in?  https://www.facebook.com/events/903999316607440/ (the Oddities Market) Not sure exactly what they might have, but nothing too macabre for me, thanks.   How do you feel about enamel pins?  Love them, hate them, slightly interested, totally indifferent? Indifferent? I've seen cute ones, but I wouldn't have anyplace to display them.   what is your T-shirt/shirt of choice Size? Prefer fitted cuts, so for girly/junior shirts that usually means an XL. Misses size M. Unisex M. Anything that can encompass a 40-inch bust will work.   OCTOBER LUNACY!  I know turn around time is unlikely, but just saying (JUST SAYING), dear Witchee, did anything catch your eye? I'm curious about Palo Santo & Sandalwood, but I don't actually know what palo santo smells like...   So Blood Moon Botanica is having an update soon.  It's a surprise what will be listed (besides the Moon Dew serum), but you can take a look at past items on her web page:  https://archaichoney.com/bloodmoonbotanica  (Britton used to run Haus of Gloi.)  Witchee, are you interested in any kinds of things from the Blood Moon Botanica update? I probably don't need any wound care products, I don't get sick much, and I try not to burn stuff indoors. But yes, I'd be "interested." ?   also I took some beading classes and have been making bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.  Would you be interested in any?  If so, how big is your wrist or how long would you like your bracelet?  Any preferred styles of beads? I think this has been covered, but no to bracelets or earrings.   If I was to donate to an animal rescue on your behalf as the "lucyboo" component of this swap, is there one in particular that you would choose?    Maybe Pig's Peace Sanctuary?   What is your very favorite Halloween candy? If you don't have one/don't do candy, what's a seasonal treat you love? Probably Reese's peanut butter cups.   I just got an email from Lush that their Christmas stuff is now up online! anything you might like? I'm really not familiar with their products, so would just refer you to my favored scent notes.   If you were my witchee, would you enjoy home made (canned) preserves?  I'm going home to Can All The Things & I'm thinking some bananas foster butter/sauce might be a nifty thing for you. Probably!   I am in Las Vegas is there anything you would want from here? Maybe if they have alien/UFO/Area 51 spillover merch...?

2019 Switch Witch LucyBoo21 Memorial Halloweenie Round Questions!

Future Primitive: I have never tried anything from them before. I am always open to being enabled to new fabulousness. From the Autumn 19 line, the scents Just Witch, Four and Twenty Blackbirds, and Opium Den seem right up my alley.   Do you like smallish knitted stuff (hats, fingerless mittens, scarves, toys, etc. -- be specific!)? Yes, I sure do. I love love hat mittens, arm warmers, and scarves. Not so much and toys.   Easy Fingerless Mittens Love Pfeilraupe Asymmetrical Scarf Love Odyssey Shawl Super Love Close to You scarf Love Rikke Slouch Hat Cute, but I have a small head so hats can be tricky... Simple Yet Effective Cowl Love Knitted Pumpkins No thank you Little Bear Stuffy No thank you   How do you feel about thrift store finds (assuming they're in good condition and have been thoroughly cleaned before shipping)? I love it. I love shopping at and receiving items from thrift and vintage shops as well as garage/boot sales and estate sales. My only request is that fabric items be laundered or left in the sun for a day or two if they are smelly. (Sun is SERIOUSLY the best way to get rid of moth ball etc smells!) I especially love vintage hankies (floral, embroidered etc), silk scarves, and jewelry (my Etsy wishlist has lots of vintage jewelry on it as a guide for what I like. Some of the prices there are CRAZY and similar pieces are dirt cheap at estate sales!)   I may have bought several full size Rituel de Fille makeup items in a frenzy over their whole vibe. If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested? I don't wear a lot of makeup, partly because I am lazy and partly because I'm just not very at applying it. That said, if you have something you think I would enjoy and could be trained to use properly, go for it. I am fine with properly sanitized testers.    Are you interested in trying different skincare products from higher end, clean brands? I'm not super into trying skincare just because my skin is so reactive. But, again, if you know it doesn't contain any of my known problematic ingredients (which are on my questionnaire) and think I would like it, go for it.    Any interest in anything from Torrid, noting their "fangirl" and Halloween collections are updated?  I am not in Torrid's size range. (I generally wear somewhere in the vicinity of 6 to an 8, size small or medium t-shirts depending on the cut.)   What on the following list would you like to receive something related to (or have something donated to in your and Joni's honor?) ·         animal rescue ·         pie ·         dogs ·         bears ·         turtles ·         inappropriate candies (either in shape or in contents—ex., boozy candies, creatively shaped peanut brittle…) Honestly, I would be happy with however my witch interprets this part of the challenge. Crazy shaped candies or pie would be eaten, donations are great, etc.   I'll be going to Seattle, London and Paris during this round- anything you'd love to have from any of these locations? Nothing in particular, but anything that strikes you would be loved!   Is there anything you would particularly like from Japan? Stationary, bento supplies, a particular snack, etc. The fall flavors for kitkats this year are Chestnut, Sweet Potato and Apple Pie. All of those KitKat flavors sound fascinating, but especially chestnut. Bento boxes and sauce cups are well loved in my house, but I don't use picks or cutters etc. Stationary would probably not be used. Food, sauces, candy, etc are always well loved.   Thinking about really good natural food stores like Natural Grocers or Whole Foods, if you could have ANY bath and beauty or body care items, what would you love? I love bath bombs from those stories, and tubes of lovely hand cream.    Also what kind of treats, snacks, foods, condiments, bulk items, teas, housewares from the same natural food stores would you love? I'm a big fan of nuts, nuts mixes, and trail mixes. I love tea and have a whole section on it on my questionnaire. I also love fancy jams and jellies, sauces, and marinades.   Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? Beeswax wrap, bamboo kitchen cloths, produce bags, reusable sandwich bags, and bamboo "paper" towels.    Did anything catch your eye from the Liliths? I have ordered nothing from the Liliths, not even decants, so no worries about doubling up! The ones I would most like to try are Back in Blueblack, Generation Spooky, Lazy Daisy, My Tiger, Social Justice Paladin (probably the most desired of all), You're A Daisy if You Have Perfume Oil, and Go Hawks!.   Would you like anything from Lush? Basically any bath bomb or bubble bar without cinnamon in it (ouch!) will be deeply loved by me. I also like some of their haircare products. I tend to paste a lot of lush stuff on Bath, Body & Fire Pinterest board, but it's far from an exhaustive list. I don't love there facial care stuff (to many reactions) or the shower jellies. I've become very interested in non-talc powders since I seem to be off all deodorant due to reactions...   9/26/19   So, there's a Euro coin of some denomination coming out with Asterix on it for the 60th anniversary and, while I'm not a coin collector, I've loved Asterix since before I could read and therefore really want one or two of the coin just to have.  Is there anything kind of weird and niche about which you feel this way, fellow witchees? That sounds super cool, but I'm not an Asterix fan, so it's not for me.    Kickstarter (and similar):  Any thoughts, witches?  I love the Kickstarter concept and have backed several things over the years. I don't have my eye on any in particular right now, but if you see one that you think is right up my alley, I am down with that.   9/28/19   Do you have an Etsy/Goodreads/Amazon or anything else wishlist you’d like to share? My amazon wishlist (which is books I want) and my Goodreads (which is books I own) should both be linked in my signature. If the links don't work, please let the ringleaders know!   And what’s your preferred wrist/necklace size?   Does anything from Bird & Blend take your fancy? It's hard to go wrong buying me tea unless you buy chamomile! I think I wrote a small treatise on this in my questionnaire, but I like blacks and oolongs best, followed by herbals. At first glance Great British Cuppa, Earl Grey Creme, Chocolate Digestives, Dark Choc Chili Chai, Terry's Orange Choc, Lady Lavender, Smoky Russian, Elderflower Prosecco, Coconut Milk Oolong, the Digester, and The Big Smoke all look great.   Knitting questions have have been asked, but how about wash cloths, anyone need any?  What colors?? I could always use dish cloths and I'm not picky about colors.       is there anything from World Market that tickles your fancy? I don't have one near me, so I have no idea what they have right now! I say if it strikes you as me: Go for it!    9/29/19   There's a special thing happening over at Rituel de Fille this weekend, where some gorgeous makeup items are coming back for just a couple of days. I'll be placing an order Sunday or Monday- anything that might strike your fancy, either from the special sale or from the site in general? (https://ritueldefille.com) Nothing in particular, but as always if you think I will love it and need it in my life, go for it.   How do you feel about tarot or oracle decks?  Would you be interested in any (for artwork or for mystical purposes)?  New or used? I have one ancient Tarot deck which I almost never use. In fact, I don't even know where it is. That's because it has just never resonated with me. I would love a deck that does. (The deck I have doesn't seem to be available anywhere, so Iw wouldn't worry about duplicating. It was called Renaissance, but the cards are actually very plain.) I would prefer new just because I wouldn't have to cleanse it, but used is NOT a deal breaker.   Would pigment samples from companies like M.A.C. or Notoriously Morbid tickle your fancy? If so, what colors catch you eye? I use makeup for infrequently that I think they would be wasted on me.   9/30/19   do you have a favourite saying or quote? I do not.   How do you feel about spicy foods, and where on the Scoville scale do you hit your limit? I like spicy food quite a lot. I think my max is probably in the Habanero level depending on what it's mixed with and prepared.
How do you feel about coloring books, especially those pertaining to a personal interest or fandom? I have been given two amazing ones and both times a child stole them. I love them in theory, but it seems like I am really bad about ever getting to use them!   10/1/19   A few questions have been asked about knitted items--are crocheted equivalents acceptable?  (crocheted fingerless gloves, shawls, etc.)   Any fiber issues? Knit and crochet is GREAT!!! I have no fiber issues, but do tend to prefer natural fibers (i.e. cotton, wool, silk, linen and blends) to acrylic and polyester just for environmental reasons. But any yarn you have is FINE with me. Really. I just so appreciate people who can make things!   About the Weenies: please list what you've bought or are definitely purchasing for yourself *as well as* what you would like to possibly receive from someone else! I have bought nothing and I am really trying to NOT but anything. That said, I lusting after Flesh of My Flesh, I am All In a Sea of Wonders, The Sleeping Draught, Voluptuous Wantonness, and His Red Mouth. I'd also love to try Mictecacihuatl, The Empty House, and The Shadowed Veil. Additionally, I use hair gloss in the winter/dry months and Picturesque Figure sounds great. (I tend to like scents with a lot less strength in my hair because it's so near my nose and they linger so much! So, although I love patchouli in my perfume oils, it's too much in a hair gloss.)     Dear Witchee, are you at all boozy?  Anywhere between hard cider to straight whisk(e)y?  And any interest in the "unusual" stuff? (unusual as in non-mainstream, local craft ciders or meads, regional fruit wines, experiments from local distilleries, etc) I am a drinker and love unusual and regional things! I think I wrote a small treatise on that in my questionnaire too...   10/2/19   Nail Polish: Do you need or want some?  If so, what colors and brands are you interested in?  I don't paint my nail.   Does anyone else do nail wraps? Nope.   What about postcards? I am so bad about sending mail that they would be wasted on me.   Is anyone interested in anything from the Nocturne Alchemy Halloween release (or, presumably, anything else from the site)? They are not a brand I have ever tried! I'm not opposed to trying something. Blood, Hemlock Cat, and Hekate Cat all sound interesting. (I found their collections/scent lists a little confusing!)   How do you feel about salt? I don’t mean, like, salted nuts or potato chips. I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt. LOVE! Seriously. We're big fans of interesting salts. One of my very favorites to use on homemade crackers is black lava salt. I am totally into trying ALL THE SALTs.    10/3/19   I am infamous for baking (shortbreads savory and sweet, poundcake, various cookies and bars), butter caramels (flavored or plain), and catnip.  Are any of these relevant to you or your household? Umm...all of them except catnip. But I especially love shortbread and caramels.   Do you like to cook and do you need/want any spices for such pursuits? I love to cook and can never have too many spices, sauces, etc.   Would you wear any of these?  Fern , Nuada, Manannan, Duleek Abbey  or an infinity scarf or tube cowl tall enough for a hood (like this scarf or this cowl for shape example)? I would totally wear any and all of those!   Do you have any utilitarian needs for everyday life? Things that would help or that you've been needing or wanting for work or whatever? Some small things that I can always use are handkerchiefs, Kleenex packets, anti-bacterial hand wipes, small tubes of hand lotion, Elf wax pencils and clear mascara/brow gel.   What kind of vegan snacks do you like? And vegan chocolate...favorites? I don't have any in particular, but tend to like all the snacks!   10/4/19    How would you describe your crafting style? Whimsical & Cute?  Elegantly modern?  Totally Traditional? I have no crafting lifestyle. I have two left thumbs.   10/6/19   So....we are about to process a metric f*ton of green tomato relish, which is basically bread and butter pickles but with sliced green cherry tomatoes.  Is this relevant to any witchees? I love almost all food, but am not always a fan of sweet relish. That said, I would totally try it and my husband would probably love it!   How do you celebrate Halloween/Samhain?  Do you dress up?  Would you like something for your costume?  And am I the only person left on the planet who wears socks? I do celebrate and I usually dress up. There seems to be some question as to whether my department is participating in the annual costume thing this year though, so I am irked at them. I tend to wear tights more than socks because I usually wear skirts.   10/7/19   Are you interested in anything from Art Of Tea or Adagio Teas? I am totally interested in all tea that isn't chamomile. I especially love flavored blacks, oolongs, and pu'erhs.
I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Would you be interested in receiving a set in the colors of your choosing? It would be immediately stolen by my niece.   And a quick question here--I'm going to this amazing looking event on Saturday--does my witchee see anything they might be interested in?  https://www.facebook.com/events/903999316607440/ (the Oddities Market) That looks so cool and I am so jealous. I want to go!!!! A bunch of the stuff looks really cool. I would totally be into creepy jewelry, random horrible taxidermy, candles, and art. For art, something I don't have to frame is preferred because I have a STACK of things I am trying to save up to frame. In the realm of creepy/spooky Halloween I really love imagery with ravens/crows, spiders, skeletons and watches -- basically think atmospheric and spooky rather than twee like pumpkins, ghosts, and black cats can be.   10/8/19   How do you feel about enamel pins?  Love them, hate them, slightly interested, totally indifferent? Generally I'm not a huge fan simply because I no longer have a dedicated place for them and they tend to get stolen by my nephew, who is a little magpie. (My jean purse is long gone!) However, that said, I've recently seen a few that I just love, including a Skeleton one that says "I am not nice" and Wild Feminist pins. So...I guess I like certain really awesome ones, but am not exactly a collector if that makes any sense!   10/10/19   what is your T-shirt/shirt of choice Size? For ladies cut tees I prefer a medium. Traditional men's cuts, a small, and I tend to cut them at the neck, arms, and waist. There's a new thing out there called a "unisex" which is basically a slimmer cut version of a men's T often in stretchier fabric, and I like those in mediums too. Really, you can't go wrong with a medium unless it looks abnormally huge.   10/11/2019   OCTOBER LUNACY!  I know turn around time is unlikely, but just saying (JUST SAYING), dear Witchee, did anything catch your eye? I adore the Hunter Moon t-shirt, would love to try imPEACHment, Peach Chypre, and Palo Santo and Sandalwood.    https://archaichoney.com/bloodmoonbotanica (Britton used to run Haus of Gloi.)  Witchee, are you interested in any kinds of things from the Blood Moon Botanica update? MOON DEW (will have a presale should it sell out) Looks great with no known danger zone ingredients! HIGH MOUNTAIN ARNICA OIL No thanks SAINT JOHNS WORT OIL No thanks CALMING ELIXIR Sadly, no, the chamomile makes it a no go FIRELIGHT TURKEY TAIL TINCTURE No thanks, I sometimes have issues with mushroom tinctures (I seem to fine with chaga tea though) YARROW ALDER HEALING SALVE I could absolutely use this DEEP FOREST OIL Probably would not get used in a timely fashion at my house. PEACH LEAF ELIXIR Would be great to have on hand for winter DRAWING SALVE Probably gentle enough for me. LINDEN & CALIFORNIA POPPY ELIXIR This sounds very interesting ENGLISH DAISY FLOWER ESSENCE Daisies, like chamomile, are in the ragweed family and I need to avoid them.   also I took some beading classes and have been making bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.  Would you be interested in any?  If so, how big is your wrist or how long would you like your bracelet?  Any preferred styles of beads? I am always into jewelry, more necklaces and earrings than bracelets. I'm pretty sure my measurements are in my questionnaire. I don't have preferred bead styles but currently like BRIGHT things and could use some more reds, oranges, and purples in my life.   10/13/19   If I was to donate to an animal rescue on your behalf as the "lucyboo" component of this swap, is there one in particular that you would choose? The local one here is AC Paw, but I'd be equally pleased with a donation to one local to you OR to one which was local to Lucyboo.      10/15/19   What is your very favorite Halloween candy? If you don't have one/don't do candy, what's a seasonal treat you love? I am easy with Halloween candy. I love peanut butter cups and basically all the candy that comes in the variety bags with them. I also really like pay days and sugar babies/daddies and Bit O' Honey which I see more places at this time of year. But I also love fall treats like caramel apples, plain apples, cider, doughnuts, etc. Basically, there's not much I don't like except gummy candies.   I just got an email from Lush that their Christmas stuff is now up online! anything you might like? Christmas is the only holiday we really decorate for because we usually host at least one meal at my house (Eve or Day). I love ornaments for our tree, and random awesome things for our mantel. (One of my favorites is a Star Wars snow globe!) I don't actually own any wreaths or garland, which at some point I should remedy. I could also totally use my Christmas linens (napkins, placemats, etc) and dishes.   10/18/19   If you were my witchee, would you enjoy home made (canned) preserves?  I'm going home to Can All The Things & I'm thinking some bananas foster butter/sauce might be a nifty thing for you. I love homemade canned things, but I am allergic to bananas. Anything else I would love though!   10/19/19   I am in Las Vegas is there anything you would want from here? I can't think of anything in particular and I think you're either back or coming home today! But really, anything that strikes you as "me" or that would make me smile would be loved.

I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt.    10/3/19     I am infamous for baking (shortbreads savory and sweet, poundcake, various cookies and bars), butter caramels (flavored or plain), and catnip.  Are any of these relevant to you or your household?   Do you like to cook and do you need/want any spices for such pursuits?   Would you wear any of these?  Fern , Nuada, Manannan, Duleek Abbey  or an infinity scarf or tube cowl tall enough for a hood (like this scarf or this cowl for shape example)?   Do you have any utilitarian needs for everyday life? Switch Witch 2019 - my answers

9/18/19

Would you like anything from Future Primitive? (It's fine to mention OOS things, I've probably already bought it! ? ) https://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk/ Ooh, I'm always envious when I see other people get these.   Would love to try some!   Assuming they are all paraben, SLS, phthalate free?     Bubbling Bathing Grains
Body Cream
Shampoo Bar
Sugar Scrub (any of the three types)
Whipped Soap (anything really except bar soap, perfume, and conditioner.)   *Ghost Smoke ** Lughnasadh * Opium Den ** The Gloaming Shadow Show Tombstone Witch Cake   Bell Book & Candle *Dragon's Blood Cordwainer Festival Four & Twenty Blackbirds OM **Rook & Raven * Sylph ** White Witch   Does anyone have a favorite horror movie that they love? Need a copy/DVD of? No thank you, I don't have a dvd/blu-ray in my room and I rarely leave my room.  I'm not super into horror any more (used to watch tons of horror and b-movies when I had a BF who was really into it.)   Do you like smallish knitted stuff (hats, fingerless mittens, scarves, toys, etc. -- be specific!)? I like crescent, sideways, and bias shawlettes or round/pi/half circle shawls.  I do love me some fingerless mitts but the cast on and bind offs need to be done stretchy (cable cast on or JSSCO; JSSBO or lace/russian bind off.)  Or you can look in my "Make for Me" bundle on Ravelry.  Or the Vampire Swap bundle.  Patterns I want (not knitted for me, I want to knit them) are in my Wishlist.  Please don't knit things for me that are in my queue, I want to knit those!     Do any of these knitted items appeal to you? - Either no, I already have them made, or I already have the pattern and have them in my queue to make.   How do you feel about thrift store finds (assuming they're in good condition and have been thoroughly cleaned before shipping)? I love thrifting!  Totally fine with me.   9/20/19   I may have bought several full size Rituel de Fille makeup items in a frenzy over their whole vibe. If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested?  Sure!  I actually have products from them on my wishlist (in signature.)   Are you interested in trying different skincare products from higher end, clean brands? Sure!  Assuming they are all paraben, SLS, phthalate free.   Any interest in anything from Torrid, noting their "fangirl" and Halloween collections are updated?  I super want the "Leg Avenue Black Bat Cozy Dress Halloween Costume" and the Microfiber Tighter (black, size 1/2, 30% off.)  I'm also interested in everything NMBC, Harry Potter,  Doctor Who, etc.   What on the following list would you like to receive something related to (or have something donated to in your and Joni's honor?) ·         animal rescue ·         pie ·         dogs ·         inappropriate candies (either in shape or in contents—ex., boozy candies, creatively shaped peanut brittle…) All of the above!   I'll be going to Seattle, London and Paris during this round- anything you'd love to have from any of these locations? YES ALL THE THINGS.  Um, I live close to Seattle so I'm good there.  London and Paris?  Surprise me?  I love really good tea (I order from Mariage Freres in Paris but I have lots of their tea on my Amazon edibles wishlist), I love local small batch chocolates (no coffee please.  no white chocolate.)  Starbucks city mugs?  Cool spices?  Whatever you'd think I'll like, I'm pretty open.   Is there anything you would particularly like from Japan? Stationary, bento supplies, a particular snack, etc. The fall flavors for kitkats this year are Chestnut, Sweet Potato and Apple Pie. ALL THE FLAVORED KIT KATS!!!  I love those!  I get a lot of things locally at little asian stores but they don't always get the kit kats and when they do, they charge like $8/9 a bag for them.   9/22/19   Thinking about really good natural food stores like Natural Grocers or Whole Foods, if you could have ANY bath and beauty or body care items, what would you love? I'm good on lip balm right now.  I love to try new things and I'd love to have some the Vanilla scented items that used to be sold at my local co-ops but I can't ever find anymore  by Ecco Bella.  I have them on my Amazon bath and beauty wish list.  Also interested in skin care, I have super oily skin and need a good moisturizer.   Also what kind of treats, snacks, foods, condiments, bulk items, teas, housewares from the same natural food stores would you love? All of them?  I love RX Bars but I buy those at costco now (the dark chocolate sea salt and the peanut butter are my favorites.)  I've tried the RX Butter and it's good but too runny for me and I hate stirring in the oil over and over when it separates.  I love Dave's Killer Bread and the everything Bagels.  Licorice Mint tea!     Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? I have stuff on my Amazon kitchen and house & home wish lists for inspiration.     9/23/19   Did anything catch your eye from the Liliths? Yes, they are already in my wishlist (in signature.)   Would you like anything from Lush? Yes yes yes I love bath bombs.  And there are some other items on my amazon wish list under bath and body; angels on bare skin, greased lightning, some moisturizer, etc.  No soap though please, and I don't use the bubble bars very often.  Bombs and melts are awesome.  I *LOVE* the sleepy hand cream and go through it really fast.  The soap paper things are kind of cool.  Would love some of the lust perfume.  I loved Flying Fox and .. I forget the name, Puffy White Clouds?  The patchouli one.  I think their shower gels have SLS in them though, sigh.   9/26/19   Is there anything kind of weird and niche about which you feel this way, fellow witchees?  Ummm yeah, actually, a lot of things.  Like I'll buy stamps from the UK with cool artwork on them even if I'll never be able to use them.  Also US Stamps.  Also coins.  Also just about anything that I love because I'm a weirdo.  also I ADORE Krampus stuff -- I have a couple of Krampus books somewhere in storage (The Devil in Design and I can't remember the other) and would gleefully accept all things Krampus, especially cute Krampus.  Stickers, rubber stamps, wrapping paper, pins, post cards, etc.   Kickstarter (and similar):  Any thoughts, witches?  I have been lucky and have gotten everything I've ever backed but there is nothing currently out that I'm needing to have that I'm aware of.  I just finally got my Last Unicorn tarot deck and my Wise Dog tarot should be on the way.   9/28/19   Do you have an Etsy/Goodreads/Amazon or anything else wishlist you’d like to share? Yes, in my signature - in the wishlist / sw help portion, scroll down.   And what’s your preferred wrist/necklace size? My wrist is about 8" and I think I put this info in the original SW questionnaire?     Does anything from Bird & Blend take your fancy? Bonfire Toffee
Great British Cuppa
Terry's Orange Chocolate
Aniseed Balls
Smoky Russian
Vicky's Sponge Cake   Knitting questions have have been asked, but how about wash cloths, anyone need any?  What colors??   Nah, I'm good.    is there anything from World Market that tickles your fancy?  Always!  I love World Market.  I tend to get chocolate, snacks, sticky toffee pudding (holidays), and whatever else looks fun.  This year it seemed like the collection at my store was pretty small and mostly addams family stuff.  While that's cute and I adore it, I don't really have room for most of it.  (I totally wanted one of the skull head punch/water dispensers from last year though, lol.  But ... I have no place to put and nothing to put in it.)     9/29/19   There's a special thing happening over at Rituel de Fille this weekend, where some gorgeous makeup items are coming back for just a couple of days. I'll be placing an order Sunday or Monday- anything that might strike your fancy, either from the special sale or from the site in general? (https://ritueldefille.com)
I don't really know what is on the special sale but I have a bunch of items in my wishlist.  Anything that you think I would like!   How do you feel about tarot or oracle decks?  Would you be interested in any (for artwork or for mystical purposes)?  New or used?
I would like some rune sets but I'm good on tarot decks right now.  Charging slabs or something like that would be welcome!  (The exception would be the Phantomwise Tarot deck, I love the artwork in that one so much!)
Would pigment samples from companies like M.A.C. or Notoriously Morbid tickle your fancy? If so, what colors catch you eye?
I have a ton of samples I've never opened but if there are some you think I'd like, sure.  I like smoky eye type things and sparkle.  greys, blues, purples, blacks, maroons, dark greens?  glimmer!  sparkle!  I want to look like a fricking unicorn!  (ok, I actually don't wear make up that often.  Pigs and goats aren't impressed, nor are the sheep or my dog.)   9/30/19   do you have a favourite saying or quote? There are so many, how do I choose a favorite?  I mean, I have favorite quotes from particular books, tv shows, movies, cartoons, poetry, ...   Inconceivable!  As you Wish.  Always.  (short ones)  Many longer and more serious ones from Gaiman, Pratchett, Tolkien, etc. etc. etc.     How do you feel about spicy foods, and where on the Scoville scale do you hit your limit?
Probably Cayenne and down if we're talking about eating.  (cream cheese & jalapeno is YUM.  We make candied jalapenos too.)  For for not eating, we add the hottest peppers we can get to our "thunder butter" muscle rub.
How do you feel about coloring books, especially those pertaining to a personal interest or fandom? Nope, I do not color.   10/1/19   A few questions have been asked about knitted items--are crocheted equivalents acceptable?  (crocheted fingerless gloves, shawls, etc.)   I do not like crocheted garments unless maybe they are tunisian crochet.  I'll take all of the crocheted blankets and amigurumi though!     Any fiber issues? For wearing, I don't like acrylic, llama, alpaca, mohair, bfl... cashmere pills too much for me.  I mostly prefer merino or merino/silk.  Or merino/silk/cashmere with a low cashmere content.  Acrylic and inexpensive wool or whatever is fine for amigurumi.     About the Weenies: please list what you've bought or are definitely purchasing for yourself *as well as* what you would like to possibly receive from someone else!  I have zero monies to spend on myself, so I won't be purchasing anything.   At first perusal, these look interesting but honestly, I'd rather have NAVA.   Devil's of the Pit hair gloss 1 oz decant
Pumpkin Spice Silkybat Hair Gloss 1 oz decant

Flesh of my Flesh perfume oil
Kisses for us All perfume oil
Voluptuous Wantonness Perfume Oil Lollipop Snake Oil Perfume Oil   Dear Witchee, are you at all boozy?  Anywhere between hard cider to straight whisk(e)y?  And any interest in the "unusual" stuff? (unusual as in non-mainstream, local craft ciders or meads, regional fruit wines, experiments from local distilleries, etc) Yes, I love booze!  I love unusual stuff!  I have a list of things I want or want to try, which includes any fruity liqueurs from Yewberry!!  We make rose liqueur and lavender vanilla bean (with our own roses and lavender.)  I *love* traditional sweet meads.  Love fruit wine!  I get spiced blackberry and raspberry from RockRidge Orchards in Enumclaw, WA when I can afford it.  Also love sweet ciders!  I like hard alcohol of all types although I'm not big on tequila, it makes my throat sore.   I'm highly interested in samples (or bottles, haha) of: Aperol
St. Germain
Chartreuse
Chambord
Pastis
a decent absinthe
Creme Yvette
Drambuie
Parfait d'Amour
Crème de cassis
Advocaat
Averna
Barenjaeger
Benedictine
Damiana
Galliano
Licor 43
Strega     10/2/19     Nail Polish: Do you need or want some?  If so, what colors and brands are you interested in?  Do I want some?  I love sparklies but I rarely use them, so I don't *need* any.  I have a huge wishlist for ILNP although don't go overboard because I mostly just wear it on my toes and I don't switch out quickly, so a little lasts me a long time.   Vanity from the fall collection (on sale!!) is really calling my name though, along with Isabella (also on sale!)   I *have* On Repeat, MEGA (L), Birefringence (H), Raven, and Night Drive.  I'd kind of like a red one that doesn't have a copper or orange leaning to it, Black Orchid was the best I could find on the site so it's on my wish list.  (shrug)   What about postcards? I love beautiful or spooky postcards!  I actually save all of my cards and postcards and letters and stuff FOREVER (what, I'm not a hoarder! Pinky swear!) and usually put up the postcards all over my desk hutch.  I had to remove them when I moved three years ago and haven't gotten any since then I don't think.   How do you feel about salt? I don’t mean, like, salted nuts or potato chips. I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt.  I have a bunch of flavored salts and I love them!  Problem is that I run out of grinders and have to keep getting more.   I have alder smoked, garlic something, pink himalayan, sea salt, kosher salt (I keep a huge box of this), epsom salt for baths.  I'd LOVE some coarse Dead Sea Salt to make my own bath salts with (I'll mix with the Pink and the Epsom.)     10/3/19     I am infamous for baking (shortbreads savory and sweet, poundcake, various cookies and bars), butter caramels (flavored or plain), and catnip.  Are any of these relevant to you or your household? I love poundcake and caramels and shortbreads and .... would especially love lavender or rose flavored.  And vanilla all the things!  We grow our own catnip so I'm good there.  Plus I have a dog, not a cat.  haha.   Do you like to cook and do you need/want any spices for such pursuits? I do like to cook but I'm currently living with family and someone is ALWAYS in the kitchen, so I stay out of it.  I have kind of an obsession with Penzey's but since I never cook, I have WAY too many spices.     Would you wear any of these?  Fern , Nuada, Manannan, Duleek Abbey  or an infinity scarf or tube cowl tall enough for a hood (like this scarf or this cowl for shape example)? Sorry, I am not a fan of crocheted garments.   Do you have any utilitarian needs for everyday life? Things that would help or that you've been needing or wanting for work or whatever? Plenty of ideas on my various amazon and etsy wishlists.  They are pretty extensive... but I can't think of anything utilitarian that I absolutely need.   What kind of vegan snacks do you like? And vegan chocolate...favorites? I'm not vegan so I'm ok with whatever snacks, but I do avoid corn syrup, dyes, msg, artificial sweeteners, etc. when I can.  (So most potato chips and stuff are out, because the majority contain MSG, which gives me a headache.)    How would you describe your crafting style? Whimsical & Cute?  Elegantly modern?  Totally Traditional? Whimsical/Cute/Gothy/Nerdy-Geeky  - but not country cute.  But I'm sure a lot of the knitting patterns I do are just .. whatever is hot right now in the knitting world.     So....we are about to process a metric f*ton of green tomato relish, which is basically bread and butter pickles but with sliced green cherry tomatoes.  Is this relevant to any witchees? I don't like sweet relish or sweet pickles.  I *love* dill pickles (and dill pickled anything... green beans, asparagus, carrots, whatev.)  Maybe not beets though.  (I only like beets in borscht.)   How do you celebrate Halloween/Samhain?  Do you dress up?  Would you like something for your costume?  And am I the only person left on the planet who wears socks? These days it's pretty much like every other day.  (Halloween is every day, after all!)  No, I don't dress up special although the dogs might be tormented... I don't even dress up for renn faires anymore, or cons for that matter.  Nothing for my non existent costume.  I do not often wear socks unless it is raining or snowing and I must wear actual shoes instead of sandals...   Are you interested in anything from Art Of Tea or Adagio Teas? I have never tried Art of Tea, but I tend to buy things like flavored black teas in cinnamon, rose, chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate orange, vanilla chai, chai with a strong anise flavor, etc. or just really nice strong black tea.  I also love licorice mint basil tea (think Aveda's tea blend) or just licorice mint.  And I can't live without Traditional Medicinals Breathe Easy and Throat Coat since I have huge respiratory issues.
I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Would you be interested in receiving a set in the colors of your choosing? Maybe?  I live out in the country and never go anywhere so I'm afraid they wouldn't get good use.        And a quick question here--I'm going to this amazing looking event on Saturday--does my witchee see anything they might be interested in?   (the Oddities Market) I didn't see anything on the photos listed and I'm hurt too much (shoulders/neck) to stay by the computer very long today, sorry.  But I love sugar skulls, bats, ravens, pibbles, friesians, hippocampus.. I don't really need any jewelry per se, but I took a beading class so I could use interesting and weird beads and findings?  I have a collection of gargoyles and grotesques, nice roses made from different mediums (leather, silk, metal - not cheap ones from michaels or halloween stuff.)  Oh, and of course Krampus and Cthulhu!!        How do you feel about enamel pins?  Love them, hate them, slightly interested, totally indifferent? So they're one of those things I'm weird about.  I have a ton of enamel pins but I've literally never taken any out of their packages because I don't wear them or use them.  But people have gotten me some from Disneyland (Malificent and Jack Skellington), I backed some in a kickstarter because so cute (cute egyptian gods), I have some alchemical symbol ones from Stryx Publishing (Seattle) - Leviation Cross and Monas Hieroglyphica, etc.  But yeah, they all live in a cookie jar.  Oh, and I got the full set with my Last Unicorn tarot kickstarter package but I'll probably trade, gift, or sell those because there isn't even a unicorn one!  So, to make a long story short (too late), I'm slightly interested if it is relevant to my interests and tastes, otherwise do not want.  I should really start putting them all on a cloth and then inside a frame or something so I can look at them.   what is your T-shirt/shirt of choice Size? I wear a women's 2X from TeeTurtle (the only place I have purchased t-shirts lately.)   men's t-shirts just don't fit properly.     OCTOBER LUNACY!  I know turn around time is unlikely, but just saying (JUST SAYING), dear Witchee, did anything catch your eye? Not this lunacy, but they're still up - I want the vanilla/carnation duet because I've heard good things.  And the patchouli/tobacco (dang, oos.)  and the red rose/tobacco.  And the amber/oud.  Man, I guess I haven't been paying attention because I don't have any monies to spend, haha.  I have a bunch of red rose/tobacco scents, so the amber/oud and the vanilla/carnation would be priorities.   So Blood Moon Botanica is having an update soon.  It's a surprise what will be listed (besides the Moon Dew serum), but you can take a look at past items on her web page:  https://archaichoney.com/bloodmoonbotanica  (Britton used to run Haus of Gloi.)  Witchee, are you interested in anything from the Blood Moon Botanica update? I would love more Moon Dew serum and I'm a fan of her tea and other things.  The calming elixir and linden flower elixir both look good, as does the turkey tail.   If I was to donate to an animal rescue on your behalf as the "lucyboo" component of this swap, is there one in particular that you would choose?  I love bats in particular but there was a local pet place here that spayed/neutered all of the feral cats on our place at no cost to us (one cat moved in... pregnant... had kittens... those kittens had kittens.. we trapped them all, kittens got rehomed, adult ferals got to live here after getting fixed/shots.  We only see them on the security cameras but we feed them.)  So long story short (too late), maybe Pet Savers in Spokane?    https://www.petsaversspokane.org/   What is your very favorite Halloween candy? If you don't have one/don't do candy, what's a seasonal treat you love? I've been totally eyeing the halloween mice, bats, and stuff at Burdick chocolate (https://www.burdickchocolate.com/halloween.aspx) - some of those truffles sound delicious!  But they're expensive so, yeah.  We make the smitten kitchen pumpkin bread every year (since 2016, so... three years.  Made some already this year as soon as it was fall.)  I like caramel apples.  Fisher fair scones remind me of  fall because it's a weird Washington thing I guess.  (I don't know if I've seen the mix for sale in Spokane, it's all over in Seattle.)   Kettle corn, fresh from an actual kettle (used to get it at the corn mazes/pumpkin patches every year in the Seattle area.)   Pumpkin hard cider!  I am not a fan of "pumpkin spice" though.  Salted caramel mocha at sbux (with hardly any mocha, although honestly it's pretty much the same thing I usually have there - toffee nut latte, but add some salt, caramel on top, and mocha.  The gingerbread is my favorite though it doesn't usually come out until after Halloween, if it comes at all.  and I usually do flavored stevia in my coffee so having sbux is a huge sugar jolt that I don't indulge in often.)   Whatever seasonal selections are available from localish chocolate places like Frans, Moonstruck, Boehms, Theo, Seattle Chocolates/JCOCO, etc.  Trader Joes seasonal stuff.  World Market seasonal stuff.     I just got an email from Lush that their Christmas stuff is now up online! anything you might like? OMG, ALL THE THINGS.  I got that email too and went and looked... now I have tons more stuff on my Amazon bath & body wishlist.   I'm most excited about: Snowflake body lotion
Sleepy Dust
Snow Fairy Amazeball
Boo Shower Slime
Bath bombs   If you were my witchee, would you enjoy home made (canned) preserves?  I'm going home to Can All The Things & I'm thinking some bananas foster butter/sauce might be a nifty thing for you. I've never had such a thing as bananas foster.  But yes, all the home made preserves and stuffs!!     I am in Las Vegas is there anything you would want from here? A Las Vegas starbucks gift card (can be empty, I just want the card.  I have New York, Miami, and Seattle... not a very big collection.     They usually make you load at least $5 though.)  If you make it to the Vosges store and they have chocolate skulls, one of those would be cool.  My favorite flavor is the Naga (coconut curry milk chocolate.)
