With cinnamon, nutmeg, browned butter, and cream cheese icing. In The Bottle: yummy! Pumpkin spice and cookie! Nomnomnom Wet On Skin: I'm getting a "frosting" thing here, though I can't say for sure I believe it to be cream cheese. It's a little more like a sugar icing. But it works quite well. Dry Down: it reminds me of iced ginger snap cookies! In All: a cute, spicy foodie scent that can worn well into winter, this cheerful perfume is perfect for pumpkin picking right through to holiday morning gift giving. Adorable and yummy!

Apple with hay absolute, oats, honey, cream vanilla, and goat's milk accord. In The Bottle: APPLES! Also some hay. Wet On Skin: Red, juicy apples. That's it! Dry Down: Ah ha! Hello, goat's milk! Hello, vanilla! In All: a must for apple fans, this apple-heavy perfume is sweet and juicy, with little hints of the milk and vanilla, making it into sort of a farm-like apple mash. I'm sad to not get past, as I love the oat note, but perhaps that will change with age.

Love pain-ecstatic, cruel-sweet: gold-flecked honey amber pulsating with red musk, patchouli coeur, bourbon vanilla, inky vetiver, pomegranate rind, myrrh, blackened violet leaf, and blood red rose petals. This is such beautiful (and unexpected for me) scent! I was not initally drawn to this scent (violet leaf and vetiver are typically enough for me to run far away). But, at will call I threw caution to the wind and tried it. A little while later, I found myself searching my notes to figure out which beautiful scent was wafting off of my left wrist. This is a dark, ripe rose, but it does not smell like rose alone. I get a dark, rich, sweet scent wafting off, yet closer to my wrists the rose becomes more noticeable. The violet is not noticeable at all, and the vetiver is only a minor player which keeps the scent from getting too sweet. On me, the red musk, honeyed amber and rose are dominant. Other notes provide depth and a darker, sexy vibe. On me, this feels like a darker sister to Eldritch Dark. They do not smell the same at all, but give me a similar, rich vibe. This is not a newly blossomed rose, but a deep red fully bloomed rose that beckons you closer.

The only way you will be disappointed in this pencil is if you hoped it didn't actually smell like a pencil! The cedar comes through clearly, and I swear I smell the rubber eraser as well. My skin chemistry doesn't change those notes one bit. Single note simplicity here!

Homemade blood clot-and-cherry ice cream plopping onto moonlit sand. In the bottle, this reminds me more of cherry candy (perhaps those Lifesaver lollipops with the swirls?) than ice cream. It's intensely cherry, but it is far creamier once it is actually sprayed (and kind of makes me think of red Starbursts). I'm not really getting the blood clot note. I thought it would mean dragon's blood or clove to accompany the cherry (like in the GC scent Blood), but I'm mainly just getting a creamy cherry scent from this. It definitely does not contain dragon's blood. I would never wear a scent like this, but I like it as a room spray. I'm sure it will get a lot of use during the summer months.

I HAD to have this. But I can't imagine what this will smell like... In The Bottle: Sort of like vanilla Play Dough Wet On Skin: A soft, white sweet smell. Not even vanilla, exactly. Like marshmallow fluff, or sweet-scented stage fog. Dry Down: It's become almost a sweet light musk. It's incredibly unassuming, very sweet and charming. Not the chemical greasepaint I had feared. But it's honestly rather hard to describe. In All: low to medium throw, sweet and comforting. Much better than clowns!

Eerie billows of spun sugar, fluttering white cotton, and sheets of cream. The first time I tried Boo I wasn't super crazy about it. My nose wasn't fully developed yet and it just fell kind of flat on my skin. But then I tried the 2010 version this summer and finally got it. I was really hoping that Boo would be back as a perfume oil this year. I never thought to even hope for a Boo hair gloss! So naturally I had to order it This stuff is SO GOOD. It's the beautifully simple Boo that I've come to know and love: a cotton-candy type sugar with extra backbone from the cotton and silky cream running all through it. It's slightly foody without being obvious, sweet without being sickeningly so. It smells pretty and I love it so. I put 6 sprays in my waist length, ridiculously thick hair this morning (and they were true sprays/mists and not squirts like in some of my earlier hair gloss bottles) but then wound up having to put my hair up shortly after I got to work. When I got home this evening I took my hair down and was immediately enveloped in this amazing sweet soft cloud of scent and swooned. This might be my favorite of the hair glosses so far actually. It's very simple to wear and just feels like me (as weird as that sounds!). I've also gotten more compliments on this than any other perfume/hair gloss I've ever worn. The first time I wore it, I had no less than 6 different people comment on how nice I smelled. And of course, the gloss itself is sheer perfection. It tames my frizz, smooths everything out, and makes my hair virtually tangle free. tl;dr review: Get this now. It's perfection in a spray bottle.

Red apple with blackcurrant bud, black clove, and vanilla bourbon. Alas, This apple is not for me. It smells like a green honey crisp apple on my skin. And that's all. No vanilla bourbon. No clove. No Nothin. I am going to keep this for another couple of days and then smell it again...if it continues to be like this...it is going up on the sales block. ETA: After giving this a day to rest, the other notes become apparent. It starts off as a green apple, and then the vanilla bourbon and clove poke through and then poof, my skin eats it. I think aging will help this greatly b/c right now it has no staying power at all.

Leave it to Beth to make a hyper-realistic dead leaf note. Wet this is a super strong blast of dead, crunchy with a under-layer of wet and desiccated leaves. As it dries the myrrh and vanilla come out and the leaves move to the back. Dry this is a soft myrrh vanilla with just a hint of crunchy dead leaves scattered around.

Because this is all that I've wanted out of life for months. In The Bottle: Oh. Holy. Cupcakes. Spiced, delicious cupcakes. Wet On Skin: have you ever had fresh, moist spice cake? Because THAT'S THIS. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. Dry Down: :pant, pant: Okay. I'm more rational now. This is just exquisite. This is a pumpkin scent for people that fear pumpkin scents. This is mostly a moist, delicious spice cake, with a little yummy bit of pumpkin peeking out of the background. It's glorious. In All: I anticipate this will be very popular.

Green apple with pink pepper, Himalayan cedar, juniper berries, and lemon rind. Although this combination seemed the least appealing of the Apple series, it's fabulous! It reminded me of the Green Apple Hair Gloss--green, sweet, and tart. Very complex, and fruity without being too foody. Very fresh and just a tad citrusy.

Black leather and black licorice. Mmmm...this is delicious! It's pretty much exactly 50/50 between the licorice and leather. It's sultry and sweet and might be my favourite new atmos choice for the bedroom. Smells a little pungent in the bottle so make sure to spray it into a room before you decide if it's for you or not.

Jean Miélo White musk, tobacco flower, white tea, Tunisian neroli, and blonde leather. Still no reviews? Ok, my mediocre one will have to do. This is beautiful. I love all of the notes here so I had to buy a bottle. Very well blended - the tobacco flower is wonderful here with the neroli! The white tea gives it a refreshing, almost delicate feel and the leather is not the star...just a nice bottom layer to meld with the white musk and ground this higher pitched blend. This reads as more of a Spring/Summer perfume to me, but for some reason I find myself planning to wear it for our first day of snow, whenever that may be. I really, really like this now and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ages. Another masterful blend! ETA: this is becoming stronger even with such a short amount of aging! Very refreshing and comforting at the same time.

A spectral denial you must not disregard: Burmese heartwood teak, coffee beans, black patchouli, green cognac, and white musk. Thanks to TwilightEyes for making this possible! In The Bottle: Smoky black patchouli, a bit of dark wood (not the teak from Glowing Vulva- this is blackened, rich.) and a touch of cognac. Wet On Skin: The cognac sweetens up a bit- this is the same cognac note from Black Lace and it does a lot to smooth out the rough edges of the heady, dark scent. Dry Down: Wow. This is pretty special. It's like a combination of Black Lace, deep, dark patchouli and fresh-brewed coffee as smelled whilst walking through the French Quarter. It's not sinister, but it *is* serious. In All: Medium throw with a nice, rich undertone that makes this perfect for all genders. I have a feeling this is going to get even better with age!

A shroud of gardenia, narcissus, and sandalwood with ambrette seed, white cognac, muguet, davana, and white musk. On me, this is almost all white musk, all the time with a touch of high white florals. I was hoping for that rich cognac smell, but I don't get any of that.

Jan de Bisschop Blackened tonka, patchouli, dragon's blood resin, and scorched oak. This is absolutely beautiful. The light sweet powdery of tonka calms the patchouli of the dragon and the oak just rounds it out beautifully. This scent is so well blended that I can't believe the notes listed. I just adore it! So, so glad I bought it.

Frans Francken II Belladonna accord, sprigs of rue, crushed hyssop, white sage, beeswax, mandrake leaf, bay rum, black honey, hemp, and myrrh. In the bottle: Nothing like I'd imagined. A very sweet and delicately herbal. Wet: A bit like air freshener - light and airy and very "clean". Dry: Sweet herbs and the syrupy side that myrrh sometimes turns to on me, which is probably exacerbated by the honey. Another win for the Pickmans!

Thomas Stothard White leather and cypress-tinged white musk with cardamom, smouldering incense, Ceylon cinnamon and white sandalwood. Holy moly. This reminds me most of the Hell of Great Heat meets the Evening on the Veranda atmo spray from Trading Post. I would assume if you enjoyed either one of those (as I do) you would love this. The leather isn't harsh or chemical-y and I smell it first with a touch of cypress and cinnamon. Then...there is a spicy incense explosion! Cardamom, yes. Cinnamon, yes. Incense, yes. Wow. This one is going to age like a dream, but it is already perfect. LOVE THIS.

Occasionally there are scents that just spawn that "YES, EXACTLY THAT" sort of response where they're pretty much 100% as described. This one takes me back to the Jewish cemeteries I've wandered through in the Czech Republic -- to my family's gravesite in Brno, with moss tracing the markers and pine underfoot as I searched for the right row; to the large cemetery in Prague, with the famous gravestones crowded with pebbles and coins people have left behind; to the tumbledown hillside in Mikulov, where the stones were pulled up during the war and yew and fruit trees stand side by side. It's one of those visceral memory kind of scents for me, where I stood there sniffing the bottle at Will Call and just kind of spaced out for a second. Babbling glee aside: this one's wet dirt in the bottle to me, with a hint of trampled old-pine greenery and grass shadowing it. I didn't put it on my skin -- I'm not sure if it's something I'd want to smell like, necessarily? -- but it's a lovely unique thing all the same. (And now I think I might have talked myself into buying it after all, when I talked myself out of it at Will Call yesterday, just to shove my nose in the bottle on those bad days ...)

The first to review this... Wet: Red musk and the it disappears and White tea from the Unsteady Governess with the barest touches of violet begins to appear. Drydown: White tea, violet, with a dribble of red musk! Mircalla and the unsteady governess had a love child. A beautiful soft, close to the skin sexy as hell love child. The myrrh keeps it grounded and the wormwood is almost non-existent. This stuff is amazing...I see a back up in my future.

By what a subtle alchemy the green leaves are transmuted into gold, as if molten by the fiery blaze of the hot sun! A magic covering spreads over the whole forest, and brightens into more gorgeous hues. The tree-tops seem bathed with the gold and crimson of an Italian sunset. Here and there a shade of green, here and there a tinge of purple, and a stain of scarlet so deep and rich, that the most cunning artifice of man is pale beside it. A thousand delicate shades melt into each other. They blend fantastically into one deep mass. They spread over the forest like a tapestry woven with a thousand hues. Magnificent Autumn! He comes not like a pilgrim, clad in russet weeds. He comes not like a hermit, clad in gray. But he comes like a warrior, with the stain of blood upon his brazen mail. His crimson scarf is rent. His scarlet banner drips with gore. His step is like a flail upon the threshing floor. The scene changes. It is the Indian summer. The rising sun blazes through the misty air like a conflagration. A yellowish, smoky haze fills the atmosphere; and A filmy mist, Lies like a silver lining on the sky. The wind is soft and low. It wafts to us the odor of forest leaves, that hang wilted on the dripping branches, or drop into the stream. Their gorgeous tints are gone, as if the autumnal rains had washed them out. Orange, yellow, and scarlet, all are changed to one melancholy russet hue. The birds, too, have taken wing, and have left their roofless dwellings. Only the dismal cawing of a crow, as he sits and curses, that the harvest is over, – or the chit-chat of an idle squirrel, – the noisy denizen of a hollow tree, – the mendicant friar of a large parish, – the absolute monarch of a dozen acorns! Another change. The wind sweeps through the forest with a sound like the blast of a trumpet. The dry leaves whirl in eddies through the air. A fret-work of hoar-frost covers the plain. The stagnant water in the pools and ditches is frozen into fantastic figures. Nature ceases from her labors, and prepares for the great change. In the low-hanging clouds, the sharp air, like a busy shuttle, weaves her shroud of snow. There is a melancholy and continual roar in the tops of the tall pines, like the roar of a cataract. It is the funeral anthem of the dying year. A scent that wanders through the Ages of Autumn, from the last green leaf to the first breath of winter. This is truly magnificent. When it's wet, I smell it in layers and it truly does cycle (quickly) through different stages of Autumn. My nose catches (in order) green stems, dead leaves, tree sap, something sour and slightly sweet that reminds me of black currant or pomegranate. Once dry, it melds into a gorgeous leafy (dead and alive) scent with hints of the sweet/sour from the earlier stage. It is an up close and personal scent with little throw. I love this.

Frans Francken II Burgundy and champaca resin with immortelle, leather accord, wine-soaked red fruits, rose geranium petals, red patchouli, guttering candles, and smoke. This is definitely heavy on the wine and I barely smell the patchouli. The immortelle and rose geranium make it a little soapy... I was hoping more for Lady Macbeth with some champa, but this ends up smelling more white-flower-y on me. Potentially off to swaps with ye!

Caramelized grey matter with apple. OOH to be first... the pressure! In Bottle: Smells yummy... a "pale" caramel. Sweet, but not crazy sweet!! On Skin: Oh man... this is amazing! It warms up to a wonderful, candy-like caramel! Just like a caramel lollipop! Dry down: This has great throw on me, and I think this will be a hit!! Scent stays true... it is like a caramel apple hard candy! Something keeping the caramel from being a sticky-type scent, but this is great!! I am a foodie lover and I see this one being a true keeper that will get better with age! Want to add, any apple lovers out there, get this!! Also, after a few hours, it is still going strong and it reminds me of a stronger version of Sugar Slathered Candy Apple!! I am so in love with this!!

Note: I am not familiar with the scent of actual candied apples. I think I've only had caramel apples. In the bottle: A juicy apple. I think this features a red apple note. Wet: Juicy red or red and yellow apples. The apple note somewhat tart, but I don't think it is tart enough to be a green apple. The apple is a lot stronger than the sugar. The candied aspect isn't that prominent, though I can tell that it is there, especially when I compare it to scents like Poisoned Apple. Dry: Sugary red apples. It's a lot sweeter now. I prefer this phase of the scent. Verdict: This one is nice. It's not one of my favorite apple scents, but I think I'll be holding onto my bottle, as I really need some spiceless Weenies in my collection.

The burnished gold of dappled autumn sunlight. Origin: Straight from the Post Initial Thoughts: I can't believe how much Puddin' listened to us as we brainstormed for Weenie polish colors. This one looked like it might be a gold version of Unseelie on the website, so I jumped. In the Bottle: As advertised - burnished gold with that lovely undertone of glitter. One coat: I thought at first that this might make a good layering option, but I think the base is a bit too gold to work. More expert hands than mine may find differently. Two coats: This one stays very true to the bottle, maybe just a slight tilt toward bronze. Verdict: It is lovely. I could see myself wearing it in the fall and at Christmas.
