Switch Witch Help 2011 Part 2!

Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? As tempted as I am to order out, I prefer to cook most nights. I would love some utensils or something, though I am drawing a blank as to what exactly. =P   New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? Canadian, 'nuf said. X) But really, I actually don't think I've ever had true maple syrup, though I do like sniffing maple syrup candles, have eaten maple syrup fudge, and keep wanting to buy maple syrup candies but don't because they are expensive to rip off tourists.   How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) I think they are very interesting, and maybe something inspirational would be good, but I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of one.   Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? I like, original trilogy of course, I don't hate the prequels as much as some, I plan on watching the clone wars cartoon sometime soon, and no particular favourite characters, though Boba Fett is pretty awesome (If I cosplayed, I'd probably dress like him).   Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene) Yes, and the boyfriend likes it even more than me. Thicker and softer, but not gristle-y.   Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. Racier like what? Not particularly (unless you just mean crude humour and what not, then that's fine). Don't need a worksafe warning regardless.   Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) Yay! I've seen from the 2005 reboot.   I have a couple spare Doctor Who stickers. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? Heck yeah! And if you had anything that said exterminate or had a dalek on it, I'm pretty sure the boyfriend would steal it since that amuses him to no end.   Anyone love Buffy/Angel? Love is probably a strong word, but I do enjoy them both.   How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? I prefer the sugar coated types of gummy, rather than the naked kind.   How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? I don't know? Maybe for my phone.   Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? I'm probably in the dark fairytales end of the spectrum, literally. I prefer realistic spookiness, like graveyards and real skulls, but not over the top gore or scare tactics.   Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? Yes, I have 4 lobe piercings on each ear. My only other piercing is downtown. Jewelry is good, just refer to questionnaire for preferences! One thing I've been on the lookout for for a year or so is a pair of small sky/robins egg blue stud earrings (stone, gem, glass, or enamel preferred over plastic).   How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? I don't know what they are.   do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? Not particularly, but I don't have anything against them either. Just not particularly my aesthetic.   Who here adores meringue? I like meringue cookies, though I doubt they'd survive the post or make it over the border.   FYI - This leather case is amazing, I wish it was for Samsung Galaxy S. Also, I don't want/expect you to get me these, but I just have to say these ecospheres and jellyfish tanks are freaking awesome.   Random Note I've been looking at getting some fake lashes to try out, and I'm specifically interested in Red Cherry (in 01 and 66, or just some natural-ish ones and some really dramatic ones).   Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? Hm. The way that's phrased makes it hard for me to come up with something. There are things I've been meaning to do for years, but haven't been putting off, just haven't done. And there are things that have been postponed or whatnot due to funds and timing and all that..   Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? And if you did (or plan to), you should share what you're getting No, I've never actually made an order before (just got CPs) and I'm not planning to in the near future, though one day I want to. No decant circles or anything either.   Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! See above, I think I've answered this before. Don't need a ton of rocks, but one or two really cool ones might be cool.   If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? Probably a scarf or neckwarmer, light and drape-y sounds nice, or semi-warm, just not scratchy. The weather is pretty moderate here. Orange, purple, teal, taupe, grey, or blue. No allergies as far as I know.   Witches - speak to me of shower gels! What companies/scents do you recommend/prefer? I've only really bought shower gels once without just picking out the cheapest thing I can find. My boyfriend bought me a couple from Bath and Body Works--not bad, but I'm not a huge fan either, I just use them because I have them. But, I do prefer shower gel/body wash over bar soap, I just don't have a favourite yet. Scents.. warm, vanilla, sweet, shea butter, usually.   Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? You mean like these? Would love some!   How do you feel about terrariums? Love the concept, but I have a habit of killing all plants with love. It makes me sad.   What's your favorite horror movie? Don't think I have one. I went through a phase in high school and watched a whole bunch... but was thoroughly underwhelmed.   If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. I'm just figuring a lot of this stuff out myself! I really don't have any everyday essentials yet, still experimenting and learning what works for me.   Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? Nay. Not interested really either.   I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? Sure, motivational ones are good, especially ones that are simple but really powerful.   Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? Sure?   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? I used to buy and read a lot of manga, don't really do much of it any more. Same for comics and graphic novels too now that I think about it. But I like compelling stories and characters, interesting ideas, great writing, awesome art, or all of the above--dystopian, post-apocalyptic, or cyberpunk is a plus. For manga: I used to be into CLAMP (more Clover and X than Card Captor Sakura), I have the first book of Mushishi and wouldn't mind the rest. For comics, I prefer graphic novels: I like Jason Chan and Becky Cloonan, Warren Ellis and Alan Moore and Brian K. Vaughan, I like Transmetropolitan and Watchmen, dark and twisted characters, and excellent coloring.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? Hm, don't know much about the scent compatibilities for me, or what the notes actually smell like since some of them could go either way, but at a guess, something like this: Vanilla Bean, Vanilla Bean, Lemon Meringue, Mint Medley Fresh Squeezed Citrus, Incense, Tropical Fruit, Vanilla Bean Marshmallow, Buttercream Cupcake, Buttercream Cupcake, Vanilla Bean   If you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? Hm. Most of the art that comes to mind involves trees and ocean, and neither of those work for me in large amounts.   Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Very yes, I wouldn't mind a little embroidery kit (I don't want to make hanging art, but I'd like to do some embroidery on clothes, like leaves and flowers), or like a small (apartment sized) paper making kit, or something like that.   What's 'your' song/your theme song? Hm, not sure. It changes year to year.   Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! I've never been a fan of trail mixes... until last year. I absolutely LOVE Wild Roots Coastal Berry Blend and even more I LOVE Wild Roots.. I forget what it's called but it's got dried strawberries, dried blackberries, dried cranberries, dark chocolate, almonds, and ancient grain granola chunks. I would LOVE anything with dried strawberries and dried blackberries, I am addicted to them. Any of the above listed ingredients are good too, as well as dried blueberries, and coconut chunks, hazelnuts, yogurt chips, pumpkin seeds, and cashews. Pretty much those are the only ingredients I'm really interested in, because otherwise I'll just buy more Wild Roots. Would love love love bulk dried strawberries or blackberries if you can find them too. <3   What would be your superpower? Fixing other peoples problems, finding solutions.   Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? Hells to the yes! But.. I'm only REALLY interested in Mourning Moon, Raven Moon, and 2009 Resurrection specifically.   Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? The only bracelet I ever wear is my Biagi/Pandora Italian style charm bracelet, and only on special occasions. It takes special beads (I added a few of my favourites to my etsy wishlist), and I have lampworked glass beads cored with silver, made by Redroom Artglass on mine.   Randomness I would love a Lady Rainicorn shirt like this one, only with different colors (shirt could be yellow, or could be another color, just make the rainicorn not-pink). =D   Also, I keep almost buying a makeup roll, and I've been craving one of these cotton necklace/scarf things for like, two years.   If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? Ooh a keys cover? That sounds interesting. Hmm.. Really, just check out my etsy wishlist, I've got a lot of interesting different pouch/cover type items on there.   Would you like a photo collage based around your interests/favorite colors/favorite themes? Not particularly, I don't have anywhere to put it.   If you're crafty, are you interested in spoonflower? And if so, what things there delight your eyes? Interesting, yet costly.. I like cool fabric but don't have anything in particular jumping out at me.   Colors! What are your favorite colors and what colors do you not like? Pictures and links, people! Love: Teal/Aqua, Byzantium Purple, Burnt Orange. Like alot: Grey, brown, black. Do not love: Pink.   I like accent accessories in a deep red (I have a purse and shoes in red), and more importantly I've been seriously craving blue clothes and accessories right now. I've owned some, but I've never actually used them... I'd like fingerless gloves or a fabric bracelet though. As over-redone as it is, I enjoy Red Riding Hood in terms of adaptations and interpretations, specifically visually. I love stories in general, and fables and fairy tales specifically as well, but I'm not the type of person to have "favourite" anythings. The first story I thought of when I read this question was "The Gift of the Magi", which I find a deep personal resonation with, but I wouldn't say it's my favourite.   Food not readily available? Oh! I just thought of two things to add to this previous question: GoldSeal Smoked Light Tuna Slices in Sunflower & Sesame Oil (Not the one in water) (Love this! But I can't find it in Vancouver), also, Land'O'Lakes flavoured hot chocolate (I got my mom to bring me a case from out of town... I drank the whole thing in like, two months. I'm out, and it is hot chocolate season again!)!   Random I could really use a set of measuring spoons.. I broke my set (cheap dollar store set) last year, bought a new set a few months later, but my "new" set had the measuring amounts written on the spoons on the same spot as the magnet that holds them together, so all the measurements have been rubbed off now. =/ Also, in dire need of some face cloths, regular and extra soft would be absolutely appreciated! I'm currently using a dish cloth to wash my face, and only have one. Not worky so well.   JONES SODA CO has LE soda packs for The Guild, Buffy, D&D, So Cute, etc. Would you be interested in these, Witchee? I try not to consume my calories in liquid form (I have a bad habit of doing so, trying to break it, or at least be pickier in how I drink my calories) so no.   It'sBanned Books Week! Are there any books on the list you'd be interested in checking out? Eh. If there's a good book I want to read sure, not particularly bothered with whether it's on the banned books list or not.   I have just been enlightened to THESE. Are these flavors relevant to your interests? Salted Caramel or Smoked Salt probably.   What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? Let's start with what I already own and like. I have this small leather bag, this leather waist-pack, and this Moop bag.   I love GOOD leather (pleather or crap leather, I'd rather just get a fabric bag) and would be interested in an upcycled leather bag as well. Also love canvas/fabric bags (and totally interested in those waxed-canvas bags at Moop). Love the bags I have, but I really really really need a mid-sized day-to-day bag. There are quite a few bags on my etsy wishlist if you want an idea of what I like.   Crossbody is best, over the shoulder is good too (like my Moop bag has both), but I don't like it when the hole for the shoulder is tiny and I sweat on my purse, or the strap won't fit over my coat, or something.   Solid colors are best.   julep maven monthly boxes? Don't think they ship to Canada.   Like commercial socks? White 3/4 length work socks with reinforced heels and toes.   What kind of bear is best? None of the above? Nope.   I recently saw candy corn in non-candy corn flavors like CHOCOLATE and CARAMEL APPLE. It's not a fancy brand, I just saw it in the drugstore, but who here would like something like that? No candy corn please. =)   Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? I've heard getting a hold of Haunt stuff is tricky, so I'm not particularly interested--I'd rather hunt down some BPALs.   Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? It sounds interesting, but probably not my thing.   You get a package in the mail containing 3 things you have really wanted more than anything else you've mentioned so far in this thread. (they are all reasonably priced of course! ~$20 or less apiece). What are they? Can I trade the three things for just one bottle of The Girl (I've seen it go for $40 lately, so I'd still be under budget!)? Seriously, if the only thing I got this whole round was a bottle of The Girl I would be the happiest witchee in the history of switch witch, and I wouldn't need anything else.   So my answer would be: 1.2.3. The Girl. <3   But, if that's not an option, 3 things under $20: 1. Nicole by OPI Me + Blue or another blue nail polish. 2. Bright blue stud earrings or some other earrings 3. PSA for my Witch!   I don't want, need, or expect you to get anything or everything from these lists of questions! I answer all these questions and stuff to give you lots of ideas about me and what I do and don't like. I'll be happy with whatever you come up with. Don't feel pressured by any of my answers or wishlists, I just hope that you have fun with it and enjoy putting something special together with love, just for me. =)   But, if you're like me and you love spoiling people silly with extremely personal and thoughtful gifts, whether they be handmade or store bought, dollarstore chic or high-end boutique, I hope I've given you a ton of inspiration. Some of the best gifts are cheap, free, or handmade with whatever you already have on hand around the house.   (Plus, it's great warm up answering all these questions; I am going to have an AMAZINGly well thought out Christmas wishlist this year. )   (Actually... Speaking of handmade, two things I've just thought of that are shoe-string budget but that I would actually love to receive: A headphone wrap (I don't use iPod headphones, but I do use earbuds, just allow for size I guess), and a string tripod. I don't read a lot of print material anymore, I used to, but as I grow older I find I have less and less time in the day, and the time I do have gets allocated elsewhere.   Describe your sense of humour. I've spent a lot of my time over the years with geeky men. Also spent a lot of time getting bullied, or just having people try to get a reaction out of me. So I'm not so easy to gross out or offend. I really enjoyed Drawn Together (and South Park to a lesser extent), if that gives you an idea. I don't like the whole "awkward humour" direction movies have gone the last few years though (Due Date was a total flop for me). I don't like Dennis Leary or George Lopez. Comedians I have enjoyed at one time or another (probably watched or heard at least one stand up routine): Robin Williams, Mitch Hedburg, Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, Jim Gaffigan, Pablo Francisco, Russell Peters, Jeff Dunham, James P. Connolly, Jeff Foxworthy. Damn, now I have to go watch some comedy. Uh, but other than that I enjoy a lot of "children's" animated movies, and other cheesy humour too.   Do you like reusable grocery bags? If so, do you like the kind that fold up (ie Chico Bags?) What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: I don't think it's strange, but I'm dying for a tart warmer. I also need a new Ingenuitea tea brewer since mine is all nasty from permanent tannins.   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? I find this question terrifying! Please no!   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way?I love lip balm. It's the only stuff I use. I prefer twist tube because I am lazy and things that resemble makeup scare me. I have Burts Bees Pomegranate in my purse right now. Switch Witch Questions!

First I want to say that I am sorry it tool two days to get these answers... I have been having a bighugebad case of "If.one.more.thing.goes.wrong.I.will.flip.the.F.out!!! Along with a weeks worth of migraines that get worse and more evil everyday ( the past several days, my speech has even been affected). I have chronic migraines. I had a neurologist for a week before he told me that my migraines were too complicated for him so I should find someone who specializes in those....um ok... So I have mainly stayed away from the thread. so far nothing has gone wrong today (just the freaking head ninjas (the term my friend and I use for migraines)), so I am going to try to catch up!    I also want to say thank you my lovely Witch, for the awesome card!! I love the kitty! My fiancé gave it to me yesterday, and it made me smile for the first time all day! I also got a Nacho Witch post card!! From Australia!! That was so awesome! Switch Witch Help Part 2

what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? This is hard to answer because I'm waiting until I get my Weenie decants to decide what I'll need to order. And I'm positive I'll be wanting bottles of some of those Weenies *urgently*. But setting aside Weenies, I'd get... a bottle of The Coiled Serpent, a bottle of Cathedral, and imps of Le Lethe, Half-Elf, and Aureus.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? Yes, a few quite strongly. I both identify with, and am in awe of, Achilles from Homer's Illiad. Also the character of Socrates as represented in Plato's dialogues. For some reason I find this question easier to answer when I think about ancient stories/characters. With modern or contemporary fiction, I usually find myself relating to (or loving) all of a good novel's characters in different ways.   If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? Lately (I don't know why I write "lately," it's been for the past 20 years.. It might be because it's only in the past 2 years or so that I've begun self-identifying as a "writer") my creativity has been expressed through words (in writing), and I'm still navigating toward my own style. I think my writing corresponds most to the Symbolist movement, in terms of style. My "process" involves utter silence and secrecy about my work until I have completed at least a first draft. Nashville doesn't offer a ton in terms of vegan variations on things... if there were any way to get vegan donuts, like real deep fried & glazed donuts, then I would probably die from pleasure. I watch America's Next Top Model because it is ridiculous and I think Fourfour Rich's recaps are hilarious. I also harbor a deep and abiding affection for Charlie Chaplin's oeuvre, and from The Great Dictator always brings a tear to my eye, I think it's this sublime synthesis of comedy and horror and desperate, earth-shattering sorrow. Jane Austen and Shakespeare can both make me teary-eyed with joy and laughter, and I'm in awe of Mark Twain's wit. I often find Plato hilarious, and sometimes Aristotle, and Aristophanes is amazing, but I'm weird about ancient stuff as you probably know by now. (I didn't find anything funny on that okcupid test. It made me "The Prankster" 48% dark, 35% spontaneous, 16% vulgar, clean/complex/light. But that whole test caused my funny bone to cringe.)  Do you like reusable grocery bags? Ketchup like CRAZY!

How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I like chocolate with just about anything! But mostly peanut butter and mint!   Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I do not use beads---I might if I had string and some clasps, though! Hahaha   Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! I am not a huge fan of caramels unless they are really soft. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is obsessed with caramel.   Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? YES! That would be awesome! I like all colors (except that pukey jewel toned yellow/gold/orange color). I love all fabrics, too. I have a soft spot in my heart for bright, fun colors but I’d probably get more use out of something that was more neutral. September 20th   Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup.: That actually sounds great. One can never have too many good makeup brushes.   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? : Legos are awesome. Hmm, I had this amazing candle my mother in law bought me as part of the Haiti relief effort. I can't remember the brand! It was the BEST SMELLING CANDLE EVAR. And now it's gone. I like homey spicy scents. Apple, fig, pumpkin, etc. No pine or mint or sweet sugary fruits. While my home is not country in styling, I like those traditional 'home' smells.   Do you like Legos? Hurricane Category: Bewitching Brews Quantity: sample   Description: HURRICANE The Dark Side of Air: a high pitched, tangy, clear scent -- light China rain deepened by murky vetivert.   Review:   In the bottle: It smells delightfully fresh and herbal, with a strong note of bright vetivert.   Wet: It’s still very herbal, but it turns almost floral (that might be my skin chemistry acting funny again). It smells like rain falling on fragrant herbs.   Dry: It becomes warmer as it dries, the murky, almost smoky, aspect becomes more obvious.   Verdict: It smells very masculine, fresh and clean. BPAL: Oblivion

Oblivion Category: Sin & Salvation Quantity: sample   Description: OBLIVION Salvation found in darkness beyond darkness, the blessed sleep of nothingness. Dark musk, wood spice, labdanum, patchouli, dark African woods, and saffron.   Review:   In the bottle: I know I’m not the only one who mentions the colour of this sample, but... It’s green! It’s spicy, musky; and yet, I smell a mix of wet wood and patchouli.   Wet: It’s still warm, spicy and woody, but with an herbal quality, from the patchouli and labdanum, with a note of saffron.   Dry: Suddenly, as it dried, it turned into peroxide (I’m not kidding), to come back to spicy patchouli. Of all the skin chemical reactions I’ve experienced so far, this is the most unusual...   Verdict: Well, at first, it reminded me of my father’s cologne when I was a kid; then, it turned into something medical, to finish as a spicy man’s cologne. September 19th   What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?:   Oh, probably all sorts of things. My 10 under $10 post from yesterday is a pretty good example.   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you?   As with before-- no nail polish for me, please. No time/place to wear it to.   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way?   I'm not a fanatic but I do have constantly dry lips and almost never have a lip balm on me, so this is probably a great present, heh. Something that would definitely get used. No real preferences on container type, all are fine. Flavors: probably less fruity (reminds me too much of little kid lip balm), more spicy. Not minty please.   Beeswax does not bother me in lip balm.   Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? (I know I have a wishlist on JetPens and just love using fountain pens in my artwork)   Sure, though I don't have a fountain pen so ink would only be pointful if you sent that too. I’m really looking at the Bridesmaid Unrated movie that is coming out today.   Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? I would be thrilled beyond words to get post cards to cover my fridge with! I’d be happy to send post cards off to the world, too.   Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? No.   Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? Not my thing.   Witchee, would you like a framed photograph and of what? Most definitely! I love to hang things on my walls! I like nature and animal scenes the best, either B&W or color is good. If so, anything specific? I definitely cook at home, and I’m a cookbook junkie. I’d like to get a few more candy cookbooks, as that is the section that is lacking in my library. Please don’t send me maple syrup. I haz way more than enough. Dad cooks it every spring. I subject the SO to pages long emails, and would hate to have to force them on anyone else.   Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? Absolutely! No Groupons in the middle of nowhere.   do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? I like the idea of them, but I’m not sure what I’d do with one. September 19 Hummus!

Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? LONG WINTER FARM FTW!!! I’ve got several of these favorited in my etsy list (where I’m MissGingerMoneypenny), and I personally can never have enough lip balms. I need one (preferably more) with me everywhere I go.   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? Love, love, love! Nail polish is my other addiction, and I would die of happiness if my Witch made a polish with me in mind I’m totally ok with chemicals in nail polish, and glitter (holo and non) is also awesome. Nail polish of all colors rocks my boat, but I have a special love for reds, pinks, corals, and purples.   What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself? Switch Witch catch-up questions September 18-19

September 18th   Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I wear t-shirts, but now that the weather is changing, not so much. Also, my drawers and closets are pretty full right now, so I don’t think that adding more t-shirts is the best idea.   How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc.... It depends on what else is mixed in with the pumpkin. I’m not the biggest fan of straight pumpkin, so I’m happiest if there is some spice mixed in with it. I think pumpkin shaped things are cool, though!   Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin? It’s a cool idea and they look nice, but I didn’t see any that really resonated with me.   If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. I hear that Tim Tams are fantastically delicious! I also like Cadbury chocolate, and I’d guess the UK might have some good Cadbury stuff that doesn’t show up around here. If you’re a nail polish fan and you know of some great duochrome, holographic, or glitter polishes that aren’t sold on American soil, I’m always up for new nail polishes! The pictures of a-England’s Lady of the Lake polish that Scrangie has on her site look pretty sweet, for instance. And most of all, if you happen to be in a used bookstore and find any Ouran High School Host Club or Maid Sama! books in German, that would be the best! I see them on eBay so I know they exist, but I haven’t yet taken the plunge into buying them.   Dear witchee, if you answered 'Mac' to the Mac/PC question previously issued by another participant, please tell me what kind of computer you have, what peripherals you own (like the wireless trackpad, wireless vs/wired keyboard and mouse), and whether you're interested in Apple-related items (stickers, keychains, other things with the logo, etc). Lip balm – such an irresistible temptation! I have more lip balms than I’ll ever be able to use, and yet I Keep. Buying. More. I like the twist up tubes best, and I’m on a seemingly endless quest for the perfect cherry flavor, whether it be sour cherry, black cherry, or just plain old cherry. I hate banana (I don’t know if anyone even makes a banana lip balm, but I hate even hypothetical banana!), and I don’t really like strawberry. Favorite brand-wise, I really like Haunt, Bunny Butt Apothecary, and some local brands like Bee All Natural (yummy cinnamon!), Kelly Hansen’s (I’m loving her cherry and root beer lip balms), and Mirror Lake Organics. The Morbid the Merrier’s Harlot (funnel cake flavor) is also delish! The Long Winter Farm stuff looks tempting, especially gingerbread, red currant, toffee, white chocolate, and lime. Really, I’m all set with enough lip balm for years, and yet will always happily make room for more.   Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? hello new witch!

Hello new witch i am having ISSUES with getting my great catch up list done. what i CAN tell you is that i ran out of mylipstuff lip balm today, this is a great Tragedy. As always my wishlists are a place to see what i like about the only thing on this one you cant get somewhere else is the epoxy which a friend of mine said is the best one fo its kind bar none. who knows but well i like to give you lots and lots to go on.

SW Qs part 3

When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? I wear Velvet (the perfume) when I'm PMSing, because there's something comforting about it and it's one of the few blends that smells good still when I'm on my period. Staying in bed or on the couch. Loving attention from boyfriend. Chocolate and ice cream.   What constitutes ultimate luxury to you? (go crazy!) Fancy, expensive cheeses. Nice, handmade Bath and Body products. I saw some people mention pedicures/manicures, I've never gotten a pedicure and would feel very uncomfortable paying someone to touch my feet. I do think getting a facial would be nice, I've never done anything like that.   What do you really NOT want? Dollar store items, things from Oriental Trading Company. DVDs or CDs.   interested in anything from Lush? I've tried a few of their soaps before and liked them. I browsed their website and nothing jumped out at me specifically, maybe because of the prices (30 dollars for a conditioner??) but I'd love samples.   Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? For those interested in watercolors, how would you feel about getting a palette filled with paint from my watercolor tubes but not getting the paint itself? Switch Witch question - H'ween 2011

My previous question entry from earlier rounds is here. Updated for Summer 2013 round.   Franken polish? I don't really know what that is. I don't often wear nail polish, but I'd be okay with being enabled.   Lip balm? I prefer the twist-up tube. I currently use Burt's Bees - I've got one tube of colorless that I wear most days and a couple tubes of a deep orangey-red color and a burgundy color that I wear as lipstick. I don't really like the lip balms that have a flavor.   T-shirts? Yup, I wear t-shirts. Usually XL - I've got huge...tracts of land, as they say. (i.e. big knockers, for the non-Monty Python fans). I'd totally be down with one designed by my witch.   Pumpkin-scented things? I don't really like pumpkin-scented candles; they smell too fake. I love to eat pumpkin, but the scented stuff just seems fake to me.   Glamourkin? I don't know what that is.   Toe socks? No, I don't like having things between my toes.   Order out or cook at home? I prefer to cook at home, though I do order out when it's been a long day. I love kitchen stuff, all kinds.   Gummies? I'm not a big fan of gummy candy.   Gela-skin for my phone? I'm likely going to be getting a new phone soon - not sure what kind - so I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of this. The iPod I use is my boyfriend's, so I'd feel weird putting a different skin on it since it's not mine.   Ears pierced? Other piercings? I have my ears pierced, and my nose double-pierced (two holes close together on the same side of my nose). I've been looking for small continuous rings for my nose in silver or steel. I have ones that are supposed to have a ball in them, but the ball never stayed and the dumb gaps are always turned out weirdly.   Whoopie pies? I've never had one, but I'd try them.   Anything from Lush? I've never shopped there. A witch got me some stuff from there once. I liked it. Sorry, that's not much help, is it?   Do you blog? Would you like a header? I appreciate the offer, but no. I do graphic design, so I've got particular ideas about how I want the redesign of my blog to look.   Handmade bookmark? Sure, I read A LOT - that'd be nice.   Chex puppy mix? NOM NOM NOM   Groupon? I'm pretty particular and my budget is pretty tight, and since they often require spending some money, I'd have to say no.   Sugar skulls? Sure, I like those.   Meringue? Blech!   Personalized bottle cap labels? Sure, though I only have about 6 bottles.   Puzzles/riddles? I like to do these when I ride on planes. September 19th   What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: I have memo boards on my wall that are screaming for stuff to be added to them. Postcards, photos, random cool stuff   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you?: Sounds interesting. Holographic glitter sounds awesome   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way?: I love lip balm. I usually buy the kind in a tube. Right now I am using Blistex. I like the ones in the green tube and the orange tube. I'm always up for new kinds. I like mine to be kinda thick. Switch Witch Fall 2011, questions from 9/16-9/18

September 18th   Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear?   Yes, but not as much as I used to. Between nursing (t-shirts generally not useful) and working in a business-casual environment (t-shirts not professional enough), I just don't have a whole lot of opportunity for t-shirts and probably won't until... oh... 2013? Sigh.   I am super large chested and don't like things particularly form fitting, so if it's lady-cut, I need an XL or even an XXL. In men's shirts, I can do anything from a M to an XL usually.   Most of my t-shirts are band t-shirts, but I like any sort of cool design... I'm not really into witty phrases on shirts though.   How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc....   Heh. One look at my Etsy list should tell you you're perfectly safe if you decide to send me pumpkin scented things.   Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin?   Pretty, but probably not my style...   If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards?   I like postcards and am always happy to get them.   Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall?   Argh, not me. I lost interest around DS9 but loved the recent movie. Bones is my favorite from the original series, and I love all the engineers from TNG. And Tasha Yar. And Dr. Crusher. And even Wesley. Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific?   Oh, I love both. (You may have gathered by now that I... I really love food.) But for my wallet's sake, we eat out/order in a max of once a week unless there are extenuating circumstances, like having out of town visitors...   I'm always interested in more cookbooks, especially vegan-specific ones. My Amazon wishlist (think you can find it by searching my real name) has some on it, and there are tons more I want but haven't added yet.   Cooking implements/kitchen utensils - also a resounding yes. Always on the look out for more containers (food-safe plastic or glass, or even tin or something fancy like that) that'll work for storing things like flour, nuts, lentils, etc. I buy a lot of stuff from the bulk bins and always need more containers... in basically any size you can think of.   Silicone spatulas - I'm looking for more single-piece ones. I had a lovely set that had wooden handles & silicon tops, aaand the wooden handles are really pretty gross after five years of heavy use.   Nice/interesting dishes... plates or bowls or whatever...   Chopsticks of any variety   Small cake pans... like < 9 inches... for making smaller cake tiers.   Um, I could keep going in this vein for a long time...   New question: How do you feel about maple syrup?   I feel pretty neutral about it. Size wise, I can never really tell. Large at least, sometimes x-large. My bra size runs at 38 G, and I’m not really used to it or how to size it. I am currently mostly gluten/soy/dairy free so that would be fun too (but don’t be afraid to send me foods with these things. Being able to take my time, be luxurious, a hot tub or BIG bathub. So nice.   What do you really NOT want?   Kitschy things are not my fave, or small plastic things or knick knacks without a purpose. I already have a ton of clutter. I would also prefer nothing with spiders, parasitic creatures, licorice, grapefruit, or cannibalism.
