Fry Sauce with Cayenne Pepper

Yes, fry sauce with cayenne pepper is a legitimate condiment. And it's yummeh--I made sliders for a barbecue this weekend that were topped by swiss cheese, prosciutto and a little bit of spicy fry sauce and everyone inhaled them.   And now that THAT particular bit of rambling weirdness is out there, here are some virtual condiments:   So I have a question for y'all in the hope my witchee will answer - is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Nothing from the Conjure Oils really grabs me.   What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? I prefer cooler climes--I'm definitely a four season girl. I love mountains, forests and the ocean. (So why do I live on the prairie?)   How do people feel about edible arrangements? I've had bad experiences with that particular company..so, no thanks.   Anyone need address/phone type books? No thanks, it's all online and on my phone.   Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I haven't read much fantasy but I'm open to suggestions.   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? I like incense, but if I started using it regularly my neighbors would assume I'd started tokin'.   How many bottles of BPAL do you have? Holy crap, I have no idea. I'm afraid to count them. I know it's under 100.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? I would really, really like to learn Pilates.

Oh the SWery never ends!

Yeah, I'd be totally interested in trying something like that out.   BTW - I realized that I neglected to mention Edward Gorey & Ansel Adams in my list of favorite artists! What huge brain fart OOPS! that was!   Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? Currently in need of barrettes, scrunchies   Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Yes. And "I"m living with my parents" safe, too.   In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? hats would be the bottom of the list, slippers/scarf/shawl at the top, but ALL/Any of it would be loved dearly!   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? As long as I don't have to be TOO careful in the cleaning & care department, I'm likely to love it!   Oh and "If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? – I wanna be Stevie Nicks ! The Ren/Faerie type costume I’m slowly assembling…a Faerie/Steampunk/ren Stevie Nicks. I've wanted to dress like her style since I was very young." Coldfire may be my long lost sister? I love that style too!

Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I think I've answered that already with all the book questions.   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I've got tons of soap already.   I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't really draw much, but nice pens sound good.   For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I'd love to learn to crochet, and have a few crochet books on my BD wishlist. I've never used stitch markers, but they sound like a good idea.   Lipbalms: flavor preferences? tube/squeazything type or lip pots? I've already got tons of lip balms, but I do like them. I do have a few pots/tins, but I prefer the tube ones because I always get lip balm under my nails with the tins.   Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? Yeah, a bit, but there's tons of junky old books here so they're very easy to find. Old (pre 1900) damaged dictionaries and science books are good though, coz I use the pages for jewellery.   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I've got tons of incense, thanks. Something to store it all would be lovely though!   Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? Free decks of playing cards? Actually, free postcards are cool, coz I trade them with one of my friends.   is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? No idea! But I have tried an imp of Absinthe, and I kinda have an urge to collect the 'Absinthe' perfumes from every company. As of now I have none, but it's a plan!

A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? skinny one, I don't like a lot of bulk around my neck but I love the aesthetic. Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? probably a rectangular one. How do you feel about recipes? please! What kind of a cook/baker are you? Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? somewhere in between. I'm no master chef but I know my way around the kitchen. SW Q&A September 18th&19th

September 18th   Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I like hair things! I would rather not receive Teh Pronz, but nudes are fine-- just not the nudes where the only point is, 'here are my bits. Woo!'   In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Sure to all except hats. I really only wear the occasional newsboy cap--although, if you somehow knit one of those, that would be awesome.   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? Coolness!   Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? Oh dear. I haven't checked. I've never tried them before, either.   What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) In my head, it's a forest by the sea. The forest would be deciduous, and there would be enough sun. See why it's only in my head? I really like the beach, and tropical islands seem nice, but I also like seasons. So I have no real idea. The rainforest looks amazing, but I have a feeling that the extreme humidity would eat my soul.   What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items?   comfortable, supportive bras in my size. Umm, possibly, pretty necklaces; necklaces with real stones and wirework, and all that shiny stuff. Oh and woodblock stamps, but I'm pretty sure I fail at carving.   Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Alright. I went to Conjure Oils, because someone mentioned Succubus(I'm sad, I know). So, from the update: Succubus and Four-Leafed Clover sound awesome, and possibly Malocchio and Abbadon. From the GC: mimosa SN, Mercury Retrograde, Sagittarius, Anything from the Caravan section,the Light Maiden, the Shadow Queen, Earl Black, and Mabon look good.   Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? I try not to pine over the exclusives. It isn't nearly as far away from me as it is from a lot of other BPALers, but I'm just not that hardcore. And I love the scents I already have, so I will leave the exclusives for someone who will really love them.   Anyone need address/phone type books? I don't *need* any, but whoever said they wanted one for the BPALer addresses, that's a great idea! I'm currently keeping mine on the computer.   September 19th Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? Sure! I think that there is a list on my questionnaire of my favorite authors. I like the worlds of Xanth, the Myth Adventures series(By Robert Lynn Aspirin), I used to like Pern, and Landover, and some Discworld(haven't read any of those in a billion years). Fantasy-related gifts sound fabulous!   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soap. I don't use soap that has lauryl/laureth sulfates, because it makes my skin insanely unhappy. But other than that, soaps are awesome. I think I use Lush soaps the most; of which my favorites are Sandstone(so much citrusy love), Demon in the Dark, and Honey I washed the Kids(which I am not supposed to use because of aforementioned fubar:( But it smells so lovely!). My current bar of soap is Olive from BodyShop. I'm not *dying* to try anything , but Paintbox Big in Japan sounds good, and there was a carrot rosehip one somewhere on the worlds longest Etsy wishlist, and a couple from Steambath-- but I'm not sure if that is a 'hey, awesome soap' thing or a 'hey, this soap has a *key* in it!' I like keys.

Possets Halloween

Mini-breakdown.....   $10,00....."A dry masculine and memorable scent featuring a smooth yellow amber, bay, bay wood, a drop of tobacco flower, a very tiny amount of lavender". Sounds good but just doesn't grab me. I dunno, Possets are so inexpensive it might be worth a try. I do like dude-fumes, and I like bay. We'll see.   301...."a multiplicity of my favorite musks and cashmeran". Not much to go on there. Could be good, I looked up cashmeran and all I could find is that it's a synthetic musk. Moving on for now....   Black Hole...."Vetiver and black pepper, lavender and earth, a "black" patchouli, a slight slight slight bit of tarragon". Again, sounds okay but not shouting out "buy me, buy me!". I'll watch reviews and keep it on my list for consideration. The more I think about it, this could be a good one, but I do have a few scents like that already. I never even wear Void Moon or Winter Solstice, which I should because they're both really great scents.   Dank...."sweetbriar makes an appearance lending it's zest to the whole, while root oils hold the bottom half down, particularly vetiver and ginger. There is a splash of booze and a few autumn plums in the mix to give it an air of being a luxurious rest rather than drippy". This sounds good too, unless it has that galbanum-like note that Fabienne has been using lately. I don't like it and it could be one of the 'root oils' mentioned. I'll have to sniff this before risking a whole bottle.   Dark...."A thick and perfumy blend with a heavy dose of Frankincense to start off, black musk and fig. No greenery with it but a good layer of an almost burnt sugar and an animalic undercurrent which somehow becomes very light and sweet when breathed out". This sounds appealing....yet again.....could have that green rooty note that I don't like. Maybe I should just ask her what it is?   Phantome...."A very light and transparent scent with a subtle amber as a base, Sicilian lemon zest, a drop of cognac, and the tiniest amount of menthol (you really would not notice it if you were not looking)". Okay....getting more and more promising....this sounds pretty good. Sounds kind of sophisticated and ethereal. We'll see.   Specter...."Amber and fennel, put together in a thoroughly unexpected way". Now we're cooking with gas....this sounds really interesting, and it's high up on my list of what to seek out and at least sniff first.   Spirit....."A strong dark chypre with a lot of incense and resin to it. Frankincense, myrrh, copal, fir resin, and labdenum. Yet this is a certified Western European chypre. It is lovely, dry and captivating. Neither warm nor cold, like a spirit with a 10,000 mile stare". Oooooh, this sounds really great. This has the most potential for an unsniffed purchase. I could always use another good fir scent. The only thing holding me back is if this were major dude-fume, which can be a turn-off. I like butch but there's such a thing as too butch. Possible bottle?   That's all I got for now. I skipped the kitties because they will be at the Possets/OAR party at Fabienne's studio, and I'll be able to test first. I'll report back on those.

I hate the sun because I'm so white (I know, bad idea living in Australia!) but I live in the southern most area of the country so it's pretty good. I also LOVE very tropical climates at night. When I was in Malaysia for owrk, we only had free time in the evenings and even though it was 35-40 degrees, the lack of sun meant it was bearable and actually really nice.   is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Specifically, which particular items? Silversmithing. I did a silversmithing course a few years ago and loved it, so I'd really like to have the equipment and knowledge to do that. There's also silver clay that comes in sheets, I think it's called PMC, and there's one type that just needs a propane torch to fire, but I've not been able to find it. Divine L'homme Sage

Notes: saffron, mandarin, cardamom, lychee, aromatic woods, immortelle (or everlasting flower), patchouli, oak moss, amber, incense   This smells good, but it's kind of a hyper-dude-fume to me. I admit that it softens somewhat after it's been on the skin for a little while. I love this kind of scent, but this particular one is just not for me. It smells good but it's way too butch for my liking. It's warm and woodsy, a little spicy, just a little powdery amber, and something almost like leather which might be saffron playing tricks on my nose.   Frank Los Angeles 2 is my go-to scent for woods and spices, and luckily I have a full bottle of that, so I don't need more of this.   Edit: This does sweeten up considerably after a few hours, and I think what I'm smelling now is mostly the immortelle and incense. It's much nicer now but takes a long time to get there.

9/17/10 Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? I would love to get the English version of the Office on DVD. There are a bunch of English TV series that I enjoy to have on DVD, including any Midsomer Murders, Shameless, Cold Feet, or Coupling (especially episodes not available in the US). For music, I have some CDs on my Amazon.com wish list, and used would be fine.   Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? Oh boy, is there! Actually, I've never ordered from them, but have received a few imps in swaps and have liked them. I have been contemplating placing a Possets order for a quite a while. Okay, the first time I saw this question, I had just read the comment about 'no to the Vag-eye-na but if it were actually furry I'd put it in with the stuffed animals and pet it' and totally went and thought 'If I wanted a hair toy I'd just collect my hairbrush leavings for a week..' Then I read someone who answered correctly and went OH. HAIR TOYS. /SO/ much more sense. I did have some hair forks on my etsy wishlist, but after getting one from COGnitive Creations I am apparently totally inept at getting the fork to keep my hair bunned like I originally had it. So no hair forks, but hair sticks are always appreciated. Barrettes are nice too. I also like the leather hair ties and hair spiral thingys I found at the Renfest a couple years ago, but don't wear b/c my hair has grown too long for the things I have. (A 'tail' of a couple inches I can deal with. Half a foot or more just looks silly.) Hair combs I've always had a problem with b/c my hair is straight and fine and things fall right on out. I use Scunci metal-free elastics, and am curious about these hair screws I keep hearing about. *pauses to look at hairsticks on Etsy* Oh, and I have no idea how to put my hair up in a chignon, so those type of pins are also likely lost on me. *looks more* *shudders* No hairsticks made from antlers, please.   Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Arm warmers, half gloves are fine. No thanks to the rest.   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? As long as it fits within my taste. I also have a (replica) Blythe and wouldn't mind something cute for her - she's neglected and in her original outfit.   Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses?   Never tried any of them!   Anne Taintor, anyone?   Some of them are pretty cute!   If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste?   A shawl would also be nice, I prefer the smaller shawlette types that one can wear as a scarf since a full shawl isn't really my style.   How do you feel about recipes?   I love them! I’m sure that if you think I will like it, I will. (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that Can’t really think of anything. But I do like to be amused, so if you come across funny videos or cartoons I would probably enjoy them. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I went to a restaurant once and had the best meal of my life. Lobster fettuccine alfredo. I’m a pretty good cook and have been able to duplicate a lot of things I’ve had in restaurants but never this one. To go with it some garlic cheese bread and for desert, I make strawberries that are stuffed with a cheesecake type filling and then dipped in chocolate. To drink, I’m sorry, I’m just not a big drinker and good wines and such are wasted on me so I’d like a really big coke with no ice to water it down. NaNoWriMo? I should, but I don’t. I’m taking a writing class right now in the hopes that my writing will get better.

Notes: cedar crystals, wood sap, black thyme, oak, immortelle, beeswax, silver birch, rum absolute and tonka bean   I'm getting mostly sharp woods, verging on sour like patchouli sometimes does to me. I can sense thyme, just a little. I like woody scents but lately I've been more in the mood for something a little sweet and spicy. Maybe because it's almost fall? I like Chene but won't be hunting down more. I'll keep my sample in case my scent moods change again back to more intense woods.

I love handmade goods.   OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? Knee high is preferred since I only wear socks in the fall/winter (I'm a sandals girl the rest of the year). I love funky colors and patterns.
