Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? Okay, the first time I saw this question, I had just read the comment about 'no to the Vag-eye-na but if it were actually furry I'd put it in with the stuffed animals and pet it' and totally went and thought 'If I wanted a hair toy I'd just collect my hairbrush leavings for a week..' Then I read someone who answered correctly and went OH. HAIR TOYS. /SO/ much more sense.
I did have some hair forks on my etsy wishlist, but after getting one from COGnitive Creations I am apparently totally inept at getting the fork to keep my hair bunned like I originally had it. So no hair forks, but hair sticks are always appreciated. Barrettes are nice too. I also like the leather hair ties and hair spiral thingys I found at the Renfest a couple years ago, but don't wear b/c my hair has grown too long for the things I have. (A 'tail' of a couple inches I can deal with. Half a foot or more just looks silly.) Hair combs I've always had a problem with b/c my hair is straight and fine and things fall right on out. Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Well, due to circumstances all my vacations are to Edmonton AB. Last time I was up there in August, I totally loved the ~85 degree no humidity weather. Plus seeing the husband was nice.
Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? Would love receiving, but I'm proving to be horrible about sending. Unless it's postcard-only, then I could probably do it reliably.
Do you hate any food things with a passion?? cooked carrots, celery in any form. Ricotta cheese, grits, anything with a texture like sand.
Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? Sure.
Any countries you're interested in? Would love to go back to Sweden, Germany, Spain and Prague. Would also like to see more of France and Toronto other than their airports. Otherwise, the rest of Scandinavia, British Isles, Ireland, Japan, Australia/NZ.
Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Certainly.

Are you a foodie? In the food sense.. not really. I like eating, but am not a gourmand. As to perfume.. again, not really. Most foodie scents are sweet, and sweet makes me gag.
Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? I am nominally a baseball fan, rooting for the MN Twins. Most of the time, I really do not care about baseball/football/soccer/basketball/hockey/curling. I think the Olympics are the only time I actually seek out sports stuff to watch.
For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? I haven't for years, but would like to start again. Prefer simple elegant type things.. crafty/folksy tends to equal country and I don't like that style, and 'campy' is too wide a category and really depends on taste.

Prefer natural fibers, but wool makes me itchy. Natural/synthetic blends are fine if the wool caveat rules out too many things. (note: I've never really worn angora or cashmere or alpaca, so I can't comment to those. Stuff off a sheep's back, however, I will be clawing at eventually.)

Going anywhere during the round? Sadly no. Wanted to get up to Canada for Thanksgiving, but that's just not going to happen. Stupid 'extra' expenses. So no October travels for me.
School/classes: Not in school, but the CEU (continuing education units) monster is always wanting to be fed. I would also like to go back to school for esthetics, but first things first - gotta put the husband through nursing school.

Celebrity crush: Hah, this could take a while. I'm really disappointed I couldn't go to Dragon*Con and get my picture taken with Ben Browder and Michael Shanks (or as I called them, Hot Man Sandwich) or James Marsters. Nathan Fillion is probably the only crush I might have a chance of randomly walking by, as he is from the same city as the husband is from. I've got some girlcrushes too, but am having a hard time tearing myself away from the Hot Men of SciFi so will update later when I'm not being a dirty old lech.
Ceramics: An oil warmer would be nice.
Mortar/Pestle: I have one, but it's not used frequently.
Widescreen/formatted?: Widescreen, but uh.. I'm going to go with no movie DVDs, as the husband has a HUGE collection (the bookcase is approximately 6 feet long and 4ish feet high (4 shelves) and it's completely packed). TV shows like Burn Notice, Leverage, Carnivale, Deadwood, True Blood and the like are less likely to be on the shelf. Smallville I think he has, and possibly Supernatural, too. LOST is definitely there. It's hard to remember!
Snack food: I have an awesome recipe for granola with stuff I keep meaning to share here, and I mix my own trail mix with stuff I pick up from the farmers market. I've also been known to eat the dried fruit before it ever gets to the mixing bowl.

I'm in the process of building a steampunk outfit for next year's Dragon*Con, so any of the clock hand earrings or the pair of goggles I have linked in my Etsy wishlist would be nice. If you're feeling spendy, this harness is the one I'm lusting after. I've just about stopped playing my elf, so nothing for her. I have yet to actually start bellydance (although I'd love to do it, just the usual excuses of time and money), so nothing there. So I guess that's it.

YA: I hear Jane Yolen has done some awesome YA books. For as much of a fan of Neil Gaiman I am, I only have Coraline. Frank Beddor's series was awesome. Scott Westerfield's series (Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras) was pretty good too.
Fiction: I /love/ retold fairy tales. Have been looking for Ellen Datlow's Tamsin tale.. and will be adding some of her edited books to my amazon wishlist. Charles de Lint is also an awesome writer. (again, see wishlist.) I would like to find the other two books of his where he published originally under the name Samuel M. Key (I've got Angel of Screams.) Nancy Madore has an erotic fairy tale collection called Enchanted, which I have, but there's another out there that I want. I'm also a fan of Jacqueline Carey and am missing the third book in the second Kusheline trilogy. (which must be hardback to match the others in the set.) Oh, I also like Diana Gabaldon, and have read (but do not own) through to the newest Echo In The Bone. Nor have I read the spinoffs featuring Lord John Grey.
Alternate history intrigues me, although with the exception of Gregory Key, haven't read any.
SF: This is a bit trickier. I like Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury, and Roger Zelazny (although I've only read his Amber series). I like reading my dad's Analog magazine when I can get my fingers on it. However, other than the above mentioned authors, I can't help you much.

There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? LOVE peppermint and spearmint hard candies. I like black/red/other flavors of licorice, thin-shelled Jordan almonds, Haribo brand gummy bears. Not fond of peanut butter candy.
Do you have a Blu-Ray player? No.
Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? No objections to d/ls. It is fast enough to get what I want. (Sometimes, the space left on my computer before I dump over to the external is too small, though.)
As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one huge final package to seal the sweetness? I don’t care. I’m not going to argue.
What is your idea of the perfect evening at home? I’m either reading or on the computer with some good music. Or, I’m watching TV.
Are you on any social networks (MySpace, Twitter, LJ, Facebook, Bebo, etc)? If so, make with the links! Are you open to new friends? On LJ but I really don’t update much.
What kind of socks? Preferably ones which stop right below the ankle.
How often do you update your wishlist? I really don’t have one as I’m the type who gets what they want right when they want it. Makes buying for me difficult.
May I help you fill out your costuming wardrobe (assuming you costume)? Are there articles you are seeking to enhance your a) Halloween costume, Renfest attire, c) Cosplay, d) Steampunk accouterment? I would love a long-tailed corset from damselinthisdress, but ‘off-rack’ she rarely has something in my size. Plus, I’m losing weight, so I’d hate for it to go to waste.
