Notes on my biases - likes and dislikes in perfume:
Vanilla is a dealbreaker for me. I don't get why so many perfumes include it. Why would someone want to go around smelling like something to eat? Or worse, like they've been gorging on cake all day? And why the hell would I want to smell like the world's most boring dessert ever? I don't even EAT white cake or vanilla ice cream! Not even on pie!
I can live with a tiny drop of vanilla in a blend of more interesting things, just to add a touch of creaminess. But only if I cannot detect any identifiable vanilla. Sorry, Snake Oil.
Rose is my soulmate. I am guaranteed to love any scent that includes any kind of rose, as long as I can pick up the rose note. But I will be sorely disappointed if the rose is smothered beneath everything else. That happens fairly often, sad to say.

FAVORITE NOTES (not in order of preference, except for Rose):
Lavender (not too strong or sharp)
Realistic Orange Blossom/Neroli (no fruit!)
Tea notes, especially black tea. So far I've never found a really good one - strong enough and realistic enough.
