    Ehon Takara Gura

Ooh, I love this. I'm a vanilla and sandalwood fiend, so of course I had high hopes for this one, and they were rewarded. I'm not sure I can describe this very well. It's vanilla and sandalwood, but not too sweet, and rounded out and deepened a bit by what I guess must be the chrysanthemum. I don't get lemon per se, but there is a little brightness it seems to be adding. Overall, it's soft and a little like a luxurious lotion, in the best way. I think it could be worn in any season and on almost any occasion.

Man Making Love to the Maid of a Samurai Household

On my skin, the combination of notes reads as lemongrass, which is a note I love in food but personally don't enjoy smelling like. I did try this right out of the mailbox, being the impatient sort, so I will try it again in a few days to see if anything changes.

    I Too Beneath Your Moon

It's fascinating how differently fragrances work on different people. On me, I don't smell any of the patchouli or lavender, just a bright, Granny Smith apple grounded and softened by vanilla. It's absolutely lovely.

    Blissful Relaxation

On me, I get mostly something like brown sugar--maybe the bourbon cream is reading that way? Unfortunately, that note is taking over the sweet cream and cardamom, which is what I was hoping to get more of. I admit to testing it right out of the mailbox, however, and I will test it again in a few days to see if anything has changed.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

This exactly! I like Coco Blanc, but it does the exact same thing on me. I would LOVE to find a BPAL that was buttercream sandalwood goodness!

    Baby’s First Ballista

This will be a perfect pandemic comfort scent! It's soooooo smooth and cozy, a not-too-sweet vanilla grounded by some soft woods. It's "airy" rather than dense, simple in the best possible way, and sits very close to the skin. I'll need to slather, and I'm ready to. I love it!

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

Thank you so much for these suggestions, Bunny Butt! I haven't tried most of them, so I'm really excited! I can't wait to test them....

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

I'm still hoping I can think of suggestions for some of the lists upthread, but until then, here are my top 5 as of late in case anyone has any suggestions! Xiuhtecuhtli Kumiho Reapers Gonna Reap Zorya P Actually, I can't think of a 5th at the moment.... Thanks for any recs you can think of!!!

What do you wear to a Renaissance Festival?

Thanks for the recs! I'll check them out....

What do you wear to a Renaissance Festival?

Ooh, those both sound interesting. I'll check them out!
  12. I'm heading off to a Renaissance Festival today and deciding which oil to wear, and I wondered what suggestions y'all might have or some oils you've enjoyed wearing to festivals before. Notes I'm thinking could fit in well are patchouli, rose, other resins, florals (although I don't have many florals, and I can't find any of my patch-heavy scents this morning). At the moment I'm thinking I might wear Eve, but I'm also open to purchasing a new oil or two for future fairs, so please tell me your faves!

    Zorya Polunochnaya

Wow, I just love this, and my husband adores it as well. I can't figure out why it doesn't have pages and pages of glowing reviews! I can't wear Antique Lace because it becomes cloying on my skin, and The Girl didn't work on me either, but this one, though similar to both, works on me beautifully. It lingers on my skin all day, but it's subtle. As others have mentioned, it's an ethereal vanilla with touches of light floral, and it envelops me in a light, beautiful cloud of scent. This description certainly doesn't do it justice, but it's beautiful, and I will definitely need a back up bottle, and I hope it is always in the general catalog.

    Closet Raid

I mostly smell Chanel No. 5, and Beth has done a fabulous job with it! If you love No. 5, give this one a try!

    Mango-Infused Pumpkin Chai Latte

Lovely, spicy fall scent but big red spots on my skin wherever it has touched. So sad!
