doomsday_disco Report post Posted December 1, 2025 The dark, roasted bite of freshly crushed coffee beans folded into the sinuous heat of Snake Oil’s infamous bestseller. Bitter espresso grounds smoldering under a curled-up hiss of sugared patchouli, spiced amber, and velvety vanilla.
Numanoid Report post Posted December 16, 2025 So excited to have this!!! Tore into it right away! Sniffing in the bottle, reminds of a relative of Boomslang. On my skin though, I get the rich S.O and Coffee Bean! This smells so good! Great throw too. As it dries, it stays true. Rich S.O. and dark roast coffee beans! Very BU bottle worthy. 🐍☕
bridgemix Report post Posted December 17, 2025 This is so good, and I say this as someone who doesn't typically enjoy coffee scents (though I loooooove coffee). The coffee beans and the Snake Oil play so nicely together, with neither one overpowering the other. it's like when you put espresso in your brownies: Everything's subtly but unmistakably enhanced. Can't wait to see how it ages, but it's ultra wearable now.
amoray Report post Posted December 27, 2025 Photorealistic coffee beans. I used to work at a coffee shop where they roasted their own beans. This is what it smelled like when they would bring in a big barrel of freshly roasted coffee beans. No cream. And this is a blend where the "other" notes stand up to the snake oil. It is also a bit of a morpher as it goes from coffee to snake oil and ends up a very realistic coffee perfume. I have never found a coffee note that doesn't go weird on me...until this one. marared Report post Posted January 6 I agree with Numanoid that this is reminiscent of Boomslang. I went through a phase a couple years ago where I ordered a bunch of coffee-themed BPAL, and they were all just okay, but this? This is amazing. Deep rich chocolatey coffee, no weird fruity zing that some types of coffee beans have. It starts out somewhat bitter as advertised - in a good way - but gets a little sweeter and caramelly with time, and it's reeeeally putting me in the mood for an affogato. faeriedust87 Report post Posted January 7 It smells of dark roasted coffee beans. Super realistic. It balances well with snake oil. Delicious!
roseus Report post Posted Thursday at 03:50 PM The coffee note reminds me a lot of Woman Putting On Her Stocking. Roasty and rich, sweetened by the Snake Oil. Perfection!
doomsday_disco Report post Posted yesterday at 12:29 AM Okay, I know I said in my Hiss and Hearse review a few months back that that was the one of the best Snake Oil-heavy Snake Oil variants in a while -- but here I am reviewing Snakes in the Coffee Beans and feeling the same way. In a lot of the Snake Oil variants from the past few years, it might be heavy on the musk, or the patchouli, but I rarely get all of the components of the Snake Oil with whatever has been added in a particular variant. But in Snakes in the Coffee Beans, I totally get the aged vanilla absolute from the Snake Oil (which, in my opinion, is more sheer than the vanilla of the OG Snake Oil -- but it's still good), along with the spices, musk, and patch, all swirling with the coffee beans. So it gets points not only for being very Snake Oil-y, but also for its super realistic coffee bean note, and the fact that this goes strong for hours on end. I like this way better than the other coffee Snake Oil variant that is PSL: Pumpkin Snake Latte. I'm definitely going to have to upgrade my decant to a bottle.
