OxfordComma Report post Posted April 1 (edited) A couple years ago there was a Honeypot scent called White Honey, Lemon Peel, and Salt and this is it's softer, rounder sister. Tart lemon with a salted tang, drizzled in honey and cushioned on soft vanilla cream. Golden yellow, but in a mellow way. More a golden afternoon than dazzling summer sun. I love that Honeypot trio, so I'm pleased to have a flanker for it, since I never see it pop up in swaps! ETA: ooh the amber gets stronger over time and it's more like I layered WHLP&S over a glowing amber, which I'm definitely not mad about. So so pretty. marared Report post Posted April 2 Fresh out of the mailbox, on first sniff I thought it smelled just like a Luper from three years ago, Penis Bound With Gold Ribbon, and in fact has mostly similar notes. I don't have it anymore to compare side by side - I sold it off because it didn't work all that well with my chemistry. I was a little skeptical of this at first because of PBWGR, but after a few days of rest, Seule actually works better on me. The skin musk is the most prominent, which is what I was hoping for - warm, glowy amber underneath it, with just a touch of lemon. Delightful spring scent. Not a whole lot of throw, wonderful for canoodling. I've also tried the previously mentioned White Honey, Lemon Peel, and Salt, but I thought that was a lot more bracing and tart than this. Another sister scent would be Sed Non Satiata - SNS is a lot more potent and more floral, but it has the skin musk.
doomsday_disco Report post Posted Wednesday at 07:49 PM This starts off mostly being about the amber-infused skin musk on me, with a twist of some of the sugared lemon. I don't really get the vanilla cream from this, and it takes several hours for the golden honey to appear -- but when it does, it becomes the star of the show, combining with the sparkling amber musk and what's left of the sugared lemon to remind me of scents like It's All I Have to Bring Today and Venus Verticordia... making me think that the golden honey must have a floral component. I think this is pretty, but since I already own scents similar to the final drydown of the scent, I don't feel the need to upgrade this one.
theredkilt Report post Posted 6 hours ago Skin musk with a thin layer of honey lemon dust. The skin musk develops a faint sour facet on my skin.
VioletChaos Report post Posted 1 hour ago I get the amber and honey in the bottle, with an afterthought of vanilla cream. Wet On Skin: As it starts to warm on the skin, the lemon moves to the front, and the honey creeps behind, with the amber bringing up the rear. Dry Down: This is great. I love citrus scents of all kinds, but finding a good lemon scent is something to treasure. I, too, tried White Honey Lemon Peel and Salt and agree that it was far more bracing. This is also less tart/intense than the lemon notes in my beloved Happy Baby In A Long Dress or in Spiritboard: YES, but I like it. Once it's fully settled in, it reflects the painting its based on brilliantly with a well-integrated skin musk, honey dust and mild, but persistent, lemon. I anticipate wearing this quite a bit in the coming summer months!
