More Switch Witch!

Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. YES! I love to cook I really like to do vegetables and chicken/fish but le boyfriend likes steak too so go for gold! I try to stay away from gluten since it can give me a tummy ache but I'll try anything. My favorites are things like polenta, roasted veg, salads, sauteed meat. I love asian food, particularly thai and japanese. But ALSO chinese. cus my mum's filipina she loves all that.   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? Well right now I'm a neuroscientist, I work in a primate lab studying bonnet macaques and I LOVE IT. If i could do anything, I would study primates in the field. I would create behavior models for primates, large cats, elephants, all my favorite social animals.   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? Hm Ho. Good question - I would love to do donations to wildlife reserves or foundations, OR some kind of membership to one of the musuems in NYC.   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Nope! I'm just a wee bpaler, only 23 so I've got no kiddies yet just a goofy boyfriend.   Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one? Yes! I love bags, I collect vintage leather handbags - any decade! I love clutches for going out and shoulder bags for every day. Black mostly but I love random type leathers or fake leather (who cares?!)   What's your favourite comfort food (snack or candy etc) and/or drink? Thai food, Vegetarian food, polenta, roasted veg. TAKEOUT. bahaha. when I'm feeling especially sad I just go FUCK IT and order dominoes. Oh yes.   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country. I can't say enough how much I am obsessed with Paris. I suppose anything French would do me nicely. I love all of Europe and would love things in spanish (I speak spanish O.K) or spices or ANYTHING!     What question do you hate to answer? "When are you applying to grad school?" FUCKERS. leave me aloneeeee     Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc) I'd be sad if there were no bpal at all to be found!!   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? When I went to Europe last summer I tried to get little jewelry items from every country I went to. Also smokes! ALso - notebooks/pens/dried flowers. (RANDOM)     Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling? I hate to say Amory from This side of paradise because he's the worst but...   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? Nuffin reallly from the song of nature, but WHO KNOWS WHATS IN STORE.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? What? no. haha   Do you have problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? NAW lay it on me!   What is your style of humor? slightly judgemental, mean and biting. BUT I LOVE YOU. I am extremely silly at times, and surprisingly rely a lot of physical humor. As my boyfriend can sadly attest to. (lots of slapstick involving him getting hit in the balls) sigh.     Gift cards/vouchers – yay or nay? If you like them – which stores would you like one for? UM YEAH. From anywhere!! But particularly sephora, urban, amazon, etsy, you name it! FOOD? why not. How big of too big…for somethings to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? I love paintings! I paint oils myself, I would LOVE more art supplies etc. You paint me a picture I'll put it on my wall! I"m trying to decorate my apartment. I want it to look like an art gallery!!   What is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. My Michael kors double wrap brown leather gold watch. I am in love with it and I get millions of compliments on it every day. I can't live without it. ALSO I have this ridiculous Diane von furstenburg sheer kimono wrap thing with gold embossed flowers and embroidery that I can literally NEVER WEAR ANYWHERE and i just have it to put it on and look at myself in the mirror. Actually not true, once I wore it around the pool when my sister and I went to vegas and it was TO DIE. bahaha.   I have a feeling I will struggle with keeping my identity secret from my witchee. If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? No way! I don't mind! This is my first time so I'm so happieeeee to be nominated.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? NOpe, I"ma mad creeper no one knows meeeee.     Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? I am obsesssed with Christmas, so insofar as Hot chocolate making is like christmassy and is evocative of the love actually atmosphere I am always trying to create, I LOVE IT.   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? No what is that?     Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery – whether artwork or description – but which didn't work out for you? T Oh my god yes, ALLL the sleepy hollows, ALLL the christmas carols and nutcrackers and alice in wonderlands. I love alll the ideas and artwork. Not all of them work for me but you know - I want them.   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? YES. FOREVERRRR. I love starbucks.   Ninjas or Pirates? Um I woudl say ninjas but 14 year old me is outraged because she was obsessed with pirates of the carribean.   Werewolves or Vampires? No contest!!! VAMPYRE. (in andrews voice)   Zombie or Cthulhu? Cthulhu.   Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? Whatevers good for you love   Do you welcome knitted items? Yes. If so, what would you like most? Hmmm....fingerless gloves!!! are those still in? I want some! arm warmers! LEG WARMERS. hells yes

Switch Witch Help Summer 2013, Part 2

Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. That sounds like a cool idea.   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? Like a lot of others on the forum, I was attracted to Egyptology at one time. That might be fun to circle back to. There are a lot of things in the arts (or crafts) that I would want to take up, also. Or learn how to do sustainable farming, or get into gardening or even landscape architecture. Or if I have that long, maybe take a decade out to sit and meditate in a cave in the mountains somewhere.   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? There are some wildlife rescue organizations out there which allow you to "adopt" an animal – one of those adoptions might be nice. (I think it was in the last Switch Witch round where girasol's witch adopted an elephant for her. That was cool.) Or perhaps a donation to a cultural organization such as an opera company or art museum.   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? No kids, no pets, no need to worry about such things.   Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one? I am overly fond of bags, especially tote bags. I definitely don't need a purses now, and I don't need any tote bags. But I would be totally happy to get a pretty/striking/creative/etc. tote bag or market tote. (Yes, I do have a tote bag problem.)   What's your favourite comfort food (snack or candy etc) and/or drink? I consider massaman curry to be my comfort food. I have yet to find a decent massaman curry anywhere in this county. I tried making it at home once – it was edible but far short of my ideal.   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country. Magazines in German or French might be fun. A French or German Vogue is interesting, even though I don't bother reading the American edition. I also have a weakness for French shelter magazines (Maisons Cote Ouest, Marie Claire Maison, Elle Decoration, etc.). A copy of Der Spiegel would also be interesting. Local foods, candies, etc. would be interesting as long as they fit within my likes as described elsewhere (nothing licorice flavored, please!).   What fandoms do you belong to? None. What cheers you up? The beach. Who or where would you most want to haunt? Well, if there was someone I wanted to haunt, it would probably be someone I dislike whom I'd want to make miserable or freak them out or suchlike. But that would mean that I'd have to hang around someone I dislike. So I think I'll skip haunting a person. But a place I would want to haunt . . . . . probably my family's beach house. I love the place, and I'd get to hang out with family. Who would you least want to be haunted by? There have been one or two bosses along the way . . . . . . What question do you hate to answer? "Do you really expect me to believe that?" "What makes you think I'd believe that?" "What in the world were you thinking?" And others of that ilk. What is the best compliment you have/could receive? "I admire (or appreciate) the way you handled that."   Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? I don't use pendulums. I might be interested in a set of rune stones, although I think of them as associated more with Asatru or Heathenry and my leanings are not in that direction. I already have far too many decks of tarot and oracle cards.   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc) I would be disappointed (but short of heartbroken) to get nothing at all. Really, I'm interested in seeing what my Witch comes up with after trying to decode my questionnaire and the answers to these questions.   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? Not anymore. I usually try to get something, but it's not one particular type of item. For instance, in Venice I'd probably try to get some Murano glass. In Bruges I'd definitely go looking for some lace. Generally local specialty items, or shopping in cute local boutiques and gift shops, or just shopping in stores that aren't available where I live (they may be on line, but that isn't the same).   Would you like something from Empire Edibles? Their stuff looks interesting (especially the caramels), but I'd think that shipping from England to Florida would be extravagant, not to mention risky in high summer.   What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have? Shaman, Healer, Heretic: Olivia Lawson Techno-Shaman, by M. Terry Green; His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire, Book 1), by Naomi Novik; Taste, Memory: Forgotten Foods, Lost Flavors, and Why They Matter, by David Buchanan; The Dragon's Harp (Era of Dragon's: The Lost Takes of Gwynhwyfar) (Volume 1), by Rachael Pruitt, Through Wolf's Eyes (Wolf, Book 1), by Jane Lindskold. OK, so that's five.   Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling? This is a bit obscure, but the main character's Aunt Julian in Sanders Anne Laubenthal's Excalibur.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? I've signed up for a decant circle.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? I never have anyone to play table top games with except when I visit my family. We pretty much stick to cribbage and pinochle these days (well, my parents play Five Crowns, but I've never learned). And there's always solitaire. So if you find a really cool deck of cards, or an excellent cribbage board, that would be about the extent of my interest.   Do you have problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? That's OK if it supports the joke – but if the whole point of the joke is that it's off-color, that's uninteresting. Would you like to receive subversive crochet/cross stitch/ etc., or would this not get much love in your household? A subversive cross-stitch or crochet would be cool. I might not display it, but it's cool.   What is your style of humor? Wordplay and good puns. I very much dislike practical jokes.   Is there anything from Australia you would like? eg: snacks (yes, you can ask for Tim Tams!), books, magazines, memorabilia? No TimTams needed, unless the Australian version are far better than the Pepperidge Farm version (I didn't like those). Some of the spice mixes might be interesting. And I always like opals! (joke – I know how expensive good-quality Coober Pedy and Lightning Ridge opals are.)   Gift cards/vouchers – yay or nay? If you like them – which stores would you like one for? Mostly nay. But if I received an amazon.com gift card, it would get used.   How big of too big…for somethings to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? If you can afford to ship it, I can probably find a place to hang it. I'm more worried about weight. I've never figured out these metal studs in the walls (instead of wood 2x4s) and I don't want to tear out a chunk of overstressed drywall.   What is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. This isn't my favorite (as in, grab one thing as you run out of a burning building), but my air compressor for pumping up the car tires is definitely one of the most useful gadgets that I own. I'm on my third one now, having worn out the previous two. (And the tire pressure gauge that lives at the bottom of my purse gets a surprising amount of use, too.)   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: 1) Concerto in A Major for Violin, Three Echo Violins, and Orchestra, RV552: III. Allegro (Vivaldi) 2) Choukrane (Alabina) 3) Fiach dubh (Corvus Corax) 4) Concerto in A Minor for Bassoon and Orchestra, RV497: I. Allegro molto (Vivaldi) 5) Venus Vina Musica (Corvus Corax) 6) Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto #2 in C Minor, Op. 18 – 1. Moderato (Van Cliburn; Fritz Reiner: Chicago Symphony Orchestra) 7) Nightblossom (Woodland) 8) The Dance of Ogrin (Celtic Legend) 9) Deuxieme Hymne Delphique a Apollon (Atrium Musica de Madrid, Gregorio Paniagua) 10) Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467: III Allegro vivace (Mozart)   I have a feeling I will struggle with keeping my identity secret from my witchee. If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? No. But I don't think much during the round about who my Witch might be. But I really do prefer to have a reveal at the end.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? Sorry, no.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? I have a tart burner, but I don't use it. So I already have a backlog of tarts that I need to use up.   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? Good hot chocolate is fine, but I don't prepare it for myself, so I probably don't need anything to make it with or add to it.   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? No. Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? I have no idea. I'm not at all familiar with it.   What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Meh. Any favorites or products you'd like to try? No, not really.   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery – whether artwork or description – but which didn't work out for you? There are some whose imagery intrigues me (Tintagel, Crossroads), but I haven't tried them yet.   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? Yay, although this seems to be one of the few areas of the country without a Starbucks on every corner. I could use a gift card for when I'm traveling.   Ninjas or Pirates? Neither one, really. Werewolves or Vampires? Definitely neither one. Zombie or Cthulhu? Cthulhu.   Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? I have no preference, so whatever works best for my Witch is fine with me.   Do you welcome knitted items? Yes. If so, what would you like most? (amigurumi, washcloth, socks, shawl, shawlette, scarf, wrist warmers, hat, etc.) Probably not socks or a hat (I hate hat hair and anyway, I live in Florida). Most anything else would be fine. Do you have any favorite fibers? Natural fibers that aren't scratchy. (I tend to avoid acrylic, just because.) How about any fiber allergies? Nope. Favorite color for knitted items? See my favorite colors listed elsewhere (questionnaire & the "favorite shades of blue" question.   Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? Not exactly a quote, but "Be careful what you ask for. You might get it." There is also a quote from T. S. Eliot in The Four Quartets: "All shall be well, and All manner of thing shall be well." (Of course, he borrowed that from Julian of Norwich.)

Switch Witch Summer 2013 Help, Part 1

Dr Who? Probably not. I last watched Dr. Who in the late 80's, so my Doctor is Tom Baker. There are a few things I might like, such as a Dr. Who scarf or the TARDIS cookie jar, but for the most part I do not consider myself part of the fandom.   How much do you like lipbalm? I rely on it. Flavored or unflavored? Flavored. What are your favorite brands and flavors? Mostly I use Haunt lip lust, in a number of flavors. I have quite a stock on hand already, though. But if you come across some vanilla mint Chapstick, hmmmmm.   Do you like and wear lipgloss? No, I don't use lipgloss. If yes, what colours? n/a   For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? Well, first of all, I haven't created a BPAL wishlist. I have a fair amount of Nocturne Alchemy perfumes; most of the other ones I have are "commercial", alcohol-based perfumes. I don't really have any other perfume companies that I want to try out.   Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? I'm open to getting some Adagio teas. I don't really have any favorite blends, although I dislike teas that are too sweet. (I really don't like Market Spice tea from the Pike Place Market in Seattle – I find it unbearably cloying.)   What about coffee? Would you like to get coffee send to you? Whole bean or ground? What are some varieties and/or flavors you enjoy. Tea is probably a better choice than coffee, since I don't brew coffee at home.   Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? The first one that came to mind was Zenobia of Palmyra. Like Cleopatra VII of Egypt, she managed to hold off the Romans for a while before being conquered. There's also Hypatia of Alexandria, the neo-Platonist philosopher and mathematician (although her end was horrific). In the Middle Ages, Christine de Pisan comes to mind (supported herself and her children with her writing, and defended women's capabilities), and I have a fondness for Julian of Norwich. Then there's my eleven-times-great-grandmother, Mary Dyer. She ended up as a religious martyr in 17th-century Boston for refusing to "repent" her Quaker faith – or, if you prefer, for being an uppity female who twice returned to Boston after being exiled and told never to return.   If you were a Disney princess you would be? I don't want to be a Disney princess. I want to be Mary Poppins!   Would you like a seashell from Florida? If you have a nice specimen that you're willing to part with, sure. But I also live in Florida.   What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And that craft goodies would be welcome? I haven't had time to do any crafting in a long time, and I don't have any projects pending. I probably wouldn't have a use for craft goodies.   If you could have one rare BPAL, what would you choose? I don't really have any rare BPALs that I want to acquire. I might want to sniff some of the legendary ones (Storyville, etc.) just to see what the fuss is about, but I don't crave any of them.   Are you kinky? Nope. Really, quite boring.   Do you enjoy scented candles? Certain sizes that you like? What kind of scents or brands? Yes, I like scented candles, and I'm not particular about the size/shape. My very favorite ones are Diptyque's Baies scent and Rigaud's Tournesol scent, but those are a little pricey for Switch Witch. And anyway, I have far too many candles on hand already, waiting to be burned.   Thoughts about South Africa? Have you been here, would you like to go? Would you like to receive anything South African? I have not been to South Africa and it isn't high on my list of places to go. However, there is one shop that whenever I go in there, I spend a noticeable amount of time looking at the Zulu telephone wire baskets.   Do you like Sockdreams? If so, what styles would you prefer? (You can also link your wishlist.) My main concern with socks is the circumference of my calves (about 16.25 inches). I would need the "suitable for large calves" styles from Sockdreams if they were knee socks. That explains why most of my socks are ankle socks.   Do you need hair accessories? Nope. As I said on my questionnaire, my hair spits out hair ornaments & accessories. If so, what kind or color? n/a What is your favorite shade of blue? I like most shades of blue. Sky, Caribbean, teal, peacock, electric, royal, sapphire, aqua, turquoise. I like gray-blues. Navy blue is OK, too. The ones I don't like are the ones "on the border". Periwinkle drives me crazy trying to decide if it's blue or lavender. I also don't like blue-green shades that remind me of my parents' 1963 Pontiac station wagon (which make picking out a peacock or teal shade a little tricky – stay towards the blue side).   Do you have any kitchen gadgets (a SodaStream, a Kuerig/Tassimo) that you want mix things for? No.   If you were to start learning something new (intellectual or craft or hobby), what would it be? Craft, probably spinning, hand-dyeing, and weaving. Maybe metalworking (as in jewelry making) and enameling. Intellectually, there are some languages I'd like to tackle. Perhaps taking on Japanese or Old Icelandic again, or Irish, ancient Greek, classical Chinese, French, Lushootseed, or a host of others. Or brushing up on my German. What about candy? Do you have a sweet tooth? My sweet tooth seems to be diminishing a little, but yes, I like candy. Dark chocolates are best; I also love caramels, so dark chocolate-covered caramels are usually made of win.   Do you have an e-reader? What kind? Would you like to get ebooks? I have the Kindle app on my iPad. I generally use it only for things that are not available in print editions, or for things like free downloads of classic books or ones that are out-of-print and difficult to acquire (The Three Musketeers, The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries, etc.)   If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please dont hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send! Homemade foody goodies could be problematic this time of year. I'd hate for a package of goodies to "go bad" in the summer heat. Other crafty stuff that won't melt down or spoil – sure!   Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I quit doing video games about the era of Donkey Kong. I am not into gaming.   Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. ) No, not really.   Do you wear nailpolish? What colors do you tend to go for? What are your favorite brands? Are you open to trying indie brands? I never get around to using the nail polish that I already have.   Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of. Well, there's Monastery in the Mountains. My decant of that smelled good when I accidentally stepped on it and smashed it. I might like more King Mandarin, also.   Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love? I don't write letters, but sometimes I do use those correspondence cards made of thick pasteboard for short notes. Crane Stationery usually has some nice color combinations.   Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? I like Tartchef's products. However, I already have a large stash of soap that I'm trying to use up, including some Paintbox Soapworks bars. I don't particularly care for sugar scrubs (as in, somehow they don't get used) and there are other lotions that I like better than the slips.   Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? The closest I come to gardening is the two neglected rosemary bushes next to the front door. And the neglected birds of paradise in the flower beds. (Fortunately, these all seem to thrive on neglect.)   Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth. I tend not to use cosmetic and toiletry samples. I have my routine with my usual brands. The one exception might be sample sizes of shower gels and scrubs – those I sometimes use for travel.   Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? I am not at all familiar with that company.   Do you use solid soaps at all? Yes, all the time. If so, what kind do or don't you like? My favorites are by Pre de Provence, especially the linden, sage, and lavender scents. But I have quite a stash of soap on hand already that I'm trying to use up.   Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you? I haven't tried Cocoa Pink and I'm not particularly interested in them.   Do you like Lush? If so, what is your favorite product that is currently available, also, what is a product that you love but has been discontinued? Lush is one company that has never "grabbed" me. I walked into a Lush store recently, walked around and sniffed some of the soaps, and walked back out again without any twinges of regret.   Do witches prefer the answers posted here, but a more cherry-picked number of questions answered, or a more exhaustive list posted in the blog, which means posting here much less? I would find it easier to use a single location such as a blog (although I'm pretty sure I'll end up with at least two blog posts for this round, simply because of the number of questions!). The main thing is that my witchee answer at least some of the questions, somewhere.   Anyone a fan of Shiro Cosmetics? Any particular products? Eye shadow pigments in general? Another company that I'm not familiar with. Plus I don't use color cosmetics such as eye shadow and blush.   Are there any companies, products, or items you boycott? (For example: some folks boycott Nestle, MicroSoft, cashews, Kraft, and so on.) Walmart. Chik-fil-a (but that's not difficult, since I'm usually near their locations only on Sundays!). Also Hobby Lobby, Papa John's, and Domino's. Applebee's, even though I think that problem was only with their New York City franchisee. My other problem with them is that I think their menu is boring. I wish I was disciplined enough to boycott Monsanto and their products – but there are so darn many of them!   As I am in Japan, what sort of things would you like from there? Those exotic flavors of Kit Kat bars that have popped up in previous swaps look intriguing. And if you happen to find a really pretty obi . . . . . (Most of the ones I've bought are fukuru obis from about the 1970s. But there are some nice maru obis out there, too.)   Since FB and the FB Gusp group (and the BPAL Sorority which is quiet) have become gathering places...what are some of your favorite Facebook pages you like? Most of the Facebook pages I like are for business such as restaurants or small companies/stores. For cultural/political/humor, I mostly rely on my friends like share the stuff they like.   Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are. No, I'm not a regular reader of blogs.   How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? Both. The cooler or insulated bag is needed in order to keep the cold stuff cold – no food poisoning here! A traditional hamper is cute for things like dishes, cutlery, tablecloths, and room temperature food such as the crackers to go with the cheese in the cooler! (See the Picnic at Ascot company for examples.)   If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? Shorter. Fatter. Childless (and therefore grandchildless, too). Higher IQ and have read a lot more. More liberal politically. Let's not go into religious beliefs & opinions. I probably wouldn't find more than one other engineer in the room, either.   Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?) I have not looked at the update.   Witchee, do you cook? I'm not doing any cooking now. I need to get back to doing that. Do you do all the cooking? I would if any cooking got done in this household. Is it a chore or a pleasure? I'd probably classify it as a pleasure if I got around to doing any cooking.   Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? The real question would be "is it well-written and interesting?" I read both, depending on whether it's a book that I want to read. I read something not too long ago about how the most interesting and challenging topics were showing up in YA literature rather than so-called "adult" literature.   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? Emerald/forest green with some yellow and burnt orange. Kind of French country – there are a few roosters decorating the room. And do you entertain in your home? No.   Are your ears pierced? No, and I have no plans to get them pierced.   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? No, thank you. I've reached the age where I consider them clutter more than anything. (Unless hand-crafted stuffed animals or dolls are my Witch's specialty, in which case I would be honored to received one.)

"I wish you were the one that got away"

Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? I love the Beatles lyric "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." and "The virtue of courage is a prerequisite for the practice of all other virtues; otherwise one is virtuous only when virtue has no cost" by CS Lewis. I would love to have a bag or piece of art with either quote!   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? No, thank you. I'm not a coffee drinker and I've cut sugar out of my diet entirely so Starbucks is out of the question.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? Yes! Stella Luna is my mother and she would be delighted to help you!   If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? Not at all! I love to find out who my Witches are so that I can properly thank you. I hope you reveal, Witch Dear, but if you don't I completely understand   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? Neither, thank you.   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? I looove hot chocolate, but it's definitely not in my diet plan   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? I'm not even going to look this up because anything with fudge in the name is definitely not weight-loss friendly   What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try? No, thank you   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful) Most of the Lunacies I love the moon, and I love the idea of full moon perfumes, but something in the lunar oil base just goes totally awful with my skin chemistry. To date, the only Lunacy that has worked for me was this year's Honey Moon.

Catching up on the mayo

Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? I've never been a quote-sy type of person, but I do like "Allons-y!"   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? I usually get a regular cup of coffee and add shots of sugar free vanilla.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? I'm meh. Sub-par. Not pro, but I can get around.   Spoonfudge? Say whaaaaa? I just looked that up...

Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) -I'm overwhelmed by this question.   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? -if I could live comfortably and not need my salary, I'd probably still work with at risk teenagers, I'd just be a mentor instead of a teacher.   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? SW Summer 2013 Forum Questions Part 2

How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? If it needs a frame... the smaller the better. (Frames are soooo expensive here.) No frame? 16x20 would probably be the max.   What is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. Completely free of sentimental attachment... I have a few. My computer. It is so useful, and while I wish I wasn't so dependent on it sometimes, it is just, wonderful. My e-reader. I still love paper books, but I am so happy to have an e-reader in my life. Gone are the days of hauling many books with me when I go places. My BPAL. It has the power to change my mood completely, even if I can't get out of bed. Pillows.   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: Somebody That I Used to Know - Gotye Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen Walk Tall - Cannonball Adderly Creep - Radiohead Primadonna (acoustic)- Marianna and the Diamonds Satellite - DMB Walking on Sunshine/Halo - Glee Turning Tables - Adele Food Chain - Eric Hutchinson Time Warp - Rocky Horror Soundtrack   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? Sadly, not really. But if you are friends with me on Facebook, you can message my hubby (he just asks that you identify yourself as my BPAL Witch) and ask him stuffs. He is very good at keeping secrets from me when it comes to spoiling me.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? I don't, but stick that baby in a jar with a wick, and I would love it.   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? Hot chocolate is my next favorite after tea, so I am all for things for it!   I have a feeling I will struggle with keeping my identity secret from my witchee. If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? My first round I had a witch who didn't reveal until the end, and it was so fun to be kept guessing the whole round. That said, if my witch revealed early, or I guessed, I would in NO way be disappointed.   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? Oh. Dear. Lord. Never tried it. But it looks divine. Flavors.... Caramallow, Butter Y'all, Cinnamon That's How We Roll, Cookies and Cream, Salted Caramel, PB & J, Heavenly Buttercup, Peaches and Champagne, Raspberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Coconutty, Cinnamon Snap!, White Chocolate Roses, Sweet and Salty   What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try? Never tried. Some of their perfumes and bath products look cool, but I can't see scent descriptions.   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful) U. I love the idea of it, but on me it just smelled a little... off?   Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf?   "When words fail, music speaks." "Next to silence, that which comes closest to expressing the inexpressible is music." "When people don't express themselves, they die one piece at a time."   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? I like Starbucks, but I tend to go for blended drinks. Blended strawberry lemonade, decaf hazelnut frapp, passion tea lemonade. Mmmm now I want Starbucks...   Ninjas or Pirates? Slight preference for pirates.   Werewolves or Vampires? Neither and both. Depends on who is portraying them.   Zombie or Cthulhu? Zombies. Definitely. Mind you I know nothing about the Cthulu-verse.   Do you welcome knitted items? If so, what would you like most? (amigurumi, washcloth, socks, shawl, shawlette, scarf, wrist warmers, hat, etc.) Do you have any favorite fibers? How about any fiber allergies? Favorite color for knitted items? Oooh, knitted items are WIN! I like bamboo yarn, but really as long as it is fairly easy to clean I am easy. Straight wool might be an issue, but not sure. I have a lovely hat and fingerless gloves, but would welcome anything funky-ish. Wrist/arm warmers, leg warmers, big socks, scarves, shawls or shawlettes. For colors, jewel tones are great. Pretty much no white or brown and you are golden.   Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? My first round was the Fall 2012 round, and my lovely witch kept very high contact with me throughout with physical cards, e-cards, e-mails, etc. I LOVED IT. She sent small packages throughout the round, and then a larger reveal at the end, which was super awesome, but the thing is, whatever works for my Witch. If it will work for you to send small packages, go for it. If it works to send one big one, do eet. But one thing I ask is don't skimp on the contact please. I love hearing from you, an e-mail or an e-card or something just to say hi. I think that is what makes SW so special, is getting to know people.   Do you have any symbols or totems that are meaningful to you? Music notes, butterflies (stylized, they are a symbol for fibromyalgia)...   When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? I generally cry. It makes me feel better to get the energies out. I also tend to escape a bit, either into a movie, a book or a video game.   Would you like if your witch sent a regional pop/soda? If so, what type (Root beer, creme soda, cola, citrus-flavored, chocolate-flavored, etc...)? Sure, though maybe no chocolate... and no diet please.   What are the three BPALs you would most like to receive - one GC, one not-hard to find LE, and one HTF LE from your dreams? GC: O, Morocco, Dee, Dorian, Tamora, Roses Pearls and Diamonds, Lysander NHTF LE: Harlequin and Columbine, Smut, Harigata II, Dionysia, Variety Of Pleasing Amusements, L'engouement HTF LE of my DREAMS: Black Lace, Antique Lace   If you knit/crochet, what sizes of needles do you need? The only thing I have ever knit was a scarf that is still on the needles because I don't know how to cast off. I think the needles are about an inch across. They are HUGE and I love it. But generally speaking, I don't knit (see note about casting off).   What styles of artwork do you like? Black and white photography, abstract, watercolor... I don't really know... haha.   If you cook, would you be interested in-hand made spice mixes/rubs? Not homemade, no. But storebought is fine, or the recipe for your favorite rub/mix would be awesome <3   Would you like mexican vanilla or silver rings/necklaces? OMG MEXICAN VANILLA *dies* Silver rings/necklaces would be awesome, but look at my username. I LOVES THE VANILLA.   Is there anything from the Oddment Emporium (Conjure Oils Update) you would like? Added here   What is your favorite color? Purple. Red (blue toned), jewel toned green.   What is your favorite season? Summer, definitely. Also, fall.   If you could live anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would it be? Somewhere with no snow and good health care. I don't know that I would move, but I would definitely travel a lot!   Do you have any long trips coming up? If so, could you use things to occupy yourself? No overly long trips. Might have a few day trips. I generally just read or get forced into conversation with my family. Or sleep. Mmmm sleep.   I'm going to Jungle Jim's next week (it's basically a massive international food gasm in Ohio, look it up); would anything interest you? Spice mixes, interesting candy, anything small and cool   Name three things that you could use, but might not necessarily think to get for yourself? Hmm, toughie. The things I need that I don't buy are generally in the "I can't afford it" category. I could use new paintbrushes. Those don't have to be fancy. Mostly for watercolor work. I have been trying to find something to keep my legs from itching. I have mild eczema, and recently started moisturizing straight out of the shower which helped for a while. But it stopped and now they itch again. That is all I can really think of.   Would any witchee be interested in this comic? or any of her three comics? They look interesting. I am just getting into comics/graphic novels. NB: I DO NOT read series out of order. For anything.   Does anything from the TP Etsy update interest you? Not particularly.   I just found out Oreo is launching ones with watermelon flavor in the USA only. Is it something you would enjoy? Not particularly.   What do you love about summer (even if it’s your least-favorite season)? Getting to wear flip flops all the time! The funny thing is I like socks, I like shoes, but I hate wearing them. I take them off as soon as I have an opportunity to.   For those of you who are big readers: Are there any books that just came out (like within the last two months) or are about to come out during this round that you're really looking forward to? I tend not to keep on top of new releases, since I very rarely buy books new. Used book sales! YAY! Though if you really want an answer to this, let me know and I will go peruse.   I know there's been a question about favorite quotes but this is specific: Do you have a quote that's not more than, say, a dozen words long that you would like in a cross-stitch? I had one this morning! And now I can't think of it! NOOOOOO STUPID FIBRO FOG   Also posted to blog... but I wanted to stay included here.   If you don't consider yourself in a "fandom" (and I get that ... I don't really go overboard on my liking of any TV show/Movie/etc), are there any TV shows or Movies that you really like and/or watch regularly or any actors/actresses you wouldn't leave standing in the rain (unless you like looking at them sopping wet, in which case ... well, nevermind)? Zachary Quinto falls into the "leave outside in the rain because YUM" category. I like Johnny Depp too. For shows I don't fandom but still enjoy, Grey's Anatomy is the only one I can really think of.   So, dear witchee, would you like some Tw*twaffle soap or scent or lotion? I wish there was a bath melt thing of this. And a sample lotion would be awesome.   Has anyone asked about tattoos? Do you love them? Hate them? Have any? Want any? I have a swallow on my upper back which has symbolism relating to my deceased grandpa. I want more. I want one on my inner wrist to do with peace, and something for fibro.   TAL update on etsy. Is there anything you want/need? Emotional Healing oil.   Brown and Haley outlet - makers of Almond Roca and Mountain Bars - would you want anything from the outlet? Yes. The things.   I also have an Oberto jerky outlet local to me - any wants there? I adore jerky. I only eat the strip stuff, and I don't like peppered flavor. OMNOMNOM JERKY.   How do you feel about home-canned goods? No home-canned goods, thanks   Do you like BPTP clothing? Never owned any.   What size do you wear of: Baby-doll T's XL? Regular T's M-L yoga pants I am a size 12-14, so whatever that translates to.   What else do you love from the Trading Post site, and need to have? UGH Massage oil. Morocco hair gloss.   Is there a particular movie genre that you like (Fantasy? Drama? Romantic Comedy? Musicals? TV-Series, etc), and what format would you prefer: DVD, Blu-Ray, or something in the cloud (like Amazon, iTunes, Flixster, etc)? DVD format. I like musicals, TV series, zombie movies, horror movies, and DISNEY/KIDS MOVIES!   Following up on the Adagio question from earlier, what are you top five wishes, for teas and blends? Oh gosh. I like rooibos because it is caffeine free. rooibos cinnamon apple (no chamomile), rooibos earl grey, honeybush hazelnut In general, I like nuts and spice, some fruits (no blueberry please!). No licorice flavored things. Chai is always a win. Really, I like tea. I have some of my faves listed on my Amazon list to give you an idea.   Do you have anything that you do ritually, every summer? Not really. When I was younger it used to be that I would go on vacation with my parents, but now that I am an adult and don't get the summers off, I tend to just make sure I have lots of outside time. Also, sandals. All the time.   What are your top five wishes from ThinkGeek? http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ab3f/ -- These are SO fun. http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/eeef/ http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/cf9b/ - Super expensive but OMG NEED http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/7957/ http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ed6b/ -- Way too much for a Witchee to spend. But it is in my top 5 things I want from TG.   Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? http://www.etsy.com/listing/123235066/biolojewelry-neurotransmitter-necklace?ref=col_view -- As someone who suffers from depression, necklaces like this are awesome to me, though 16 and 18 inches would be too short I think. There is another company that makes and sells them for like, $90, so seeing an alternative made me SO happy. http://www.etsy.com/listing/108030241/simple-spoon-necklace?ref=col_view -- Spoon necklace to go with the spoon theory for chronic illness. Another necklace that made me go OMG YES.   Do you like audiobooks? If so, do you have/would you like to try Audible? (I'm an addict, myself.) I can't do audiobooks, personally. I tend to always try to multitask and then I miss out on the story. So it is good old readable books for me.   Chocolate: Love? Hate? Allergic? If love, what are your faves? Love chocolate. Not a huge fan of super dark or white. I like it nice and milky, with ALL THE THINGS in it. Nuts, caramel, cookie bits, pretzels, hot sauce. It is all good.   Do you like/wear makeup? If so what brands/colors/types? I do. Urban Decay, Nyx, Mac. I like pretty much all colors except for CRAZY WILD. I have porcelain skin and blue eyes.   Is there anything special I could get you from New York City? Nothing specific that I can think of, but if you see something for me, go for it!   I know the question about personal style was included in the questionnaire, but is there anything that could give your witch a better sense of your style/fashion or decoration preferences? Like tumblrs, pictures you like, websites, stores (or brands) you like or would like to be able to shop at and so forth? My etsy, my pinterest, both linked in another blog post.   Would you like some detangling and very shiny hair gloss made by me (malibusbunny)? Because my hair is so fine, I am gonna say no. It gets greasy if I look at it funny, so I would hesitate to use a hair gloss methinks.   Does the idea of wearing a plant as jewelery give you the warm fuzzies or the heebie jeebies? (For me, warm fuzzies, but they don't ship to Canada. Sadface)   Gourmet popcorn, yes/no? What do you like: glazed, savory, candied? Nuts or not? Any flavors you wouldn't like (like Bacon CHeeseburger, Pizza, Watermelon, Root Beer Float, Hot Chili Dark Chocolate)? Or if any of those sounded interesting, how weird is weird enough? I love savory gourmet popcorn. Though the hot chili dark chocolate is intriguing. I also like popcorn spice for my own popcorn. MMMMM POPCORN.   Do you want/need/like/collect journals? If so, do you prefer lined or unlined? LOVE journals. Prefer lined, but unlined can be turned into art projects   How do you feel about glitter? does loose glitter make your skin crawl or would you bathe in it? I like sparkly things, and loose glitter in the sense of "it fell off of something" is ok. But please no handfuls of glitter. It is hard to clean up.   Festival this week -- includes an "encampment" and an art faire. any interest in trinkety things from the encampment or cards/prints from local artists? Sure! I like artsy things   Do you like Kickstarter? Are there any projects up that you really like? I haven't really looked at Kickstarter, since they don't support Canadian projects (yet. SOON!)   If you have an Etsy wishlist, what are your top 5 favorite things on there? The price is unimportant, not because I'm rich, but because I'd like some inspiration. This Necklace All the pashminas ever. One of my fave BPALs Art/Quote This purse   If you were getting a custom Haus of Gloi blend, what four notes would you choose? Summer notes listed here and you can click through to the whole list from there. I have a few on my Amazon wishlist... but I will post them here for giggles. In no particular order of wanting... - Sandalwood, Rose, Apple, Ylang Ylang - Coconut, Ginger, Sweet Cream, Brown Sugar - Mahogany, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, Bergamot - Leather, Frankincense, Clove, Red Musk - Honey, Honeysuckle, Tonka, Blood Orange   Dear witchee, I know Canadian chips can be different than others, how does "dill pickle" or "ketchup" sound Love these both, but am also Canadian so can get them in abundance.   Do you like puzzles? What kind? Jigsaw, word, etc? Adore puzzles. Sudoku, crossword, jigsaw, logic, and hidden object. ALL LOVE   Every package has to have something blue in it. Blue can also be used to describe more risque humor...how would you rate your general sense of humor? Are you strictly PG-13, R-rated, NC-17? I tend to get pretty off-color with people I know. My husband and I make some pretty hilariously naughty jokes. But when dealing with people I don't know, I am pretty PG-13. I warm up pretty quickly, but generally I tread on the side of caution. And when other people who don't know me super well make extremely off-color jokes, I tend to get uncomfortable. I am 100% not OK with anything sexist, anti-gay, racist, etc.

Older.   -If I gave you a toy gun with flashing lights, would you hide and start shooting people from around corners OR would you thank me on the IGI thread and then quietly donate it (a niece, Oxfam, Goodwill, wherever)? (there are no wrong answers for this, so don't be afraid to answer honestly) I would proudly stand in the open with that baby a-waving, shooting everything in sight. Bonus points if it makes sounds!   - What animal do you feel like the most? This question always stumps me. I have no idea.   - Your favorite feature about yourself: Eyes. Always eyes.   - Do you live in a neighborhood or in the middle of nowhere? Apartment block in a neighborhood.   -Have you ever thought, "oh, I'm going to get myself one of those one of these days" but then never do? List 1 under $10 and 1 over $10. Or unicorns.   - Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. What do you choose? A spent WoW game card, some paper scraps from card making, a handful of wedding photos showing myself my hisband and our families, some loose tea, an empty imp, a book or two, a Disney movie, a saxophone reed, some old sheet music, a piano key or two, something chocolate, a logic puzzle book, dried flowers, a game piece from any of the zillions of board games I have, my d20, a stuffed animal, a dog collar, a sparkly shoe.   - Do you need storage boxes? I'm way behind with SW questions

Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? Pictures for sure. An article of clothing. If it's a foreign country, I can't get enough stuff, but I do collect money!   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc) The only thing I would be sad about is if it wasn't something that my witch put some thought into. If it seems like it was hastily picked or tossed in I would still like it, but it may not mean as much.   Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? I do I do! I love tarot, but I would really love a set of Elder Futhark runes. I don't have a rune set or a tarot deck and have always wanted one of each.   What cheers you up? Music, my cats, my boyfriend Dom, getting out of the house to do ANYTHING. Video games. This forum.   Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by? I have no idea. I miss Tennessee, so I'd probably haunt there occasionally, wherever my family is. That would be a good haunt. I'm currently haunted by family members that have passed away - I can occasionally smell my grandfather's cigars, my grandmother's potato soup or banana pudding. I would only NOT want to be haunted by someone who would want to harm me.   What question do you hate to answer? "How are you?"   What is the best compliment you have/could receive? That someone genuinely likes who I am.   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country. YES. I love Europe, even though I've never been. Anything from Germany, as my great-grandfather immigrated from Kiel and I love Germany. I've always been interested in Sweden, Finland, and Norway, so anything from there would also be loved.   Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one? Yes, I do. I definitely need a new one. A purse - something small, maybe colourful. Black or white is always good. I also need a new backpack because my cat peed on mine a while back. Colourful, fun, or just black. Any kind of bag that can be used for a picnic.   What's your favourite comfort food(snack or candy etc) and/or drink? Banana pudding, potato soup, Korean food, and wine. (Not all at the same time!)   Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) YES. I would love recipes that my witch thinks I'd like, or that Witch has tried and loved and wants to pass on. My only intolerance is avocado - I'm allergic and get horribly ill from eating even a small amount. I love Asian food of all kinds, German, Italian.. Some Mexican. I'm always into trying new things. I don't knit, so a knitting pattern wouldn't be used - but maybe you can teach me to crochet. Paintings and stories are also welcome!   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? Learn more languages and brush up on the ones I know. Finally get a degree in Computer Science. I'd love a job doing translation work, maybe something like for the military but without the worry of being drafted/deployed into war. Or just build computers for people, all day every day.   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? If they can find out how I can make a career out of building computers for people, that would be amazing. Or if they speak another language, helping me learn it. Finding an open position that will offer training for languages and/or computer science. OR helping me to get my A+ certification.

I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) I think that would be absolutely awesome!!   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? I would go back to school and get a Master's degree in Library Sciences with a minor in Medical Sciences and be a librarian at a medical school. If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? It wouldn't bother me at all! This is my first SW, so I don't currently have a preference on finding out. It might drive me crazy wondering who it is if I don't ever know, but I wouldn't mind if I got a witch who prefers to stay seekret.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? Not that I am aware of. I don't really know anyone on the forums.   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: (Please take no offense at any songs that may show up!) As Blood Runs Black - My Fears Have Become Phobias Job for a Cowboy - Suspended by the Throat Apocalyptica - I Don't Care Rucka Rucka Ali - I'm Afraid (of Black People) Delta Rae - Bottom of the River (Gives me chills every time I hear it!) Within the Ruins - Tractor Pull Delta Rae - The Chain Dethklok - Murmaider Winds of Plague - They Don't Shine Like Us Impending Doom - Walking Through Fire   Hooray for random power outages! I had to restart Pandora after the 3rd song because the power in our apartment randomly went out.   Wow, missed a few questions while answering some! I've gotta speed up to even remotely have a chance at keeping up.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? Yes, I recently got a wax warmer! The ones I have are from Scentsy. I'd like something that will make my home smell awesome, but isn't too strong (I get headaches easily). Anything that smells like autumn woods/autumn is awesome.   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? I love hot chocolate. Anything to make it with/add to it is welcome!   Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? HA no, I would die living with my boyfriend if I had a problem with anything like that. That pretty much IS my sense of humor.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? Hungry Ghost Moon sounds interesting. I'd like to try any of the others, especially Desmonema and Elaphospyris.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? I LOVE playing board games. Any games that can be played by two people so that Dom and I can play together. We only have Monopoly and Jenga right now, but we love Clue, Risk, chess, all kinds of games. As for card games, I've only really played Apples to Apples but really like it. I've never tried any table-top RPGs or dice games but I'd be open to them!   What style is your sense of humour? Inappropriate sometimes. Dirty, "off-colored" as another question described it. I also enjoy really silly things.   Is there anything from Australia you would like? Regional spices/flavoring blends/sauces? I've never really had anything from Australia, but apparently Tim Tams are good? I haven't tried them. Send me anything! (Except Vegemite. None of that, please.)   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? Right now, gift cards are probably the best thing. I just lost my job. Gift cards for etsy, amazon.com, grocery stores (Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's), and some clothing stores would be nice. A gift certificate to a yoga center in the area (for example, Hamsa Yoga or Updog Yoga) would be a nice treat.   How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? Nothing giant - the largest would probably be the same size as a 32" TV. But feel free to send me pretty pictures!   What is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. My boyfriend's desktop PC. We built it close to a year ago and recently upgraded the graphics card in it. I play games on my laptop, but using his desktop is so much more fun. Plus he loves it.   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful)

Friday July 5/13   Anything from Villainess that strikes your fancy, either from their update or from the GC? Wack & Nilotica sound good. I generally prefer paintbox, but I'd enjoy trying some smack, smooch, or whipped   Thursday July 4/13   If you get a long weekend this weekend... what are you doing with it? Staying in? Going out? Family? Friends? If you don't get a long weekend, are you OK with that, or a little sad? (If you are Canadian, apply this to last weekend).   we have plans to sleep ( we went to friends' house yesterday) and to baby-proof the house. And I need to finishing writing the last worship service for July and start sewing some July b-day gifts and knit some goodness for my witchee. Maybe hubs can care for the kids for a while.   Would you be interested in getting a kombucha starter and instructions on how to use it to easily make your own fermented, probiotic tea drink? That sounds interesting   Wednesday July 3/13   Anything interesting from the new Paintbox Soapworks update for you? ALL OF IT!!! I like the idea, but I don't currently know of any I want to get involved in.   If you have an Etsy wishlist, what are your top 5 favorite things on there? The price is unimportant, not because I'm rich, but because I'd like some inspiration.   Well, of course Paintbox Soapworks is always a favorite! The dragons by Dragonmaker are favorites, I could really use a shawl pin and a reusable straw (long enough for those big, 64 ounce thermos mugs and dishwasher safe) and number five would be anything to do with lavender or chocolate.   Festival this week -- includes an "encampment" and an art faire. any interest in trinkety things from the encampment or cards/prints from local artists If you see something that reminds you of me   How do you feel about glitter? does loose glitter make your skin crawl or would you bathe in it? YUMMY!   Do you like BPTP clothing? What size do you wear of:   Baby-doll T's Regular T's yoga pants   Gah! Oh man, I'd love a sonic screwdriver (10 is preferred) A tardis mug or cookie jar Fun Geek T's Beyond that it's hard to say.   -Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? Dyson commercial for a "vacuum" that also "mops" floors. The water & soap goes into one compartment, and the dirty water gets sucked into another so only CLEAN WATER gets used on the floor. You know you are a mother & a house wife when you drool more over that (or one of those robot-vacuums) than you do Hugh Jackman as wolverine without his shirt . .   Do you like audiobooks? I think that would be very fun to try!   Has anyone asked about tattoos? Do you love them? Hate them? Have any? Want any? Thought about it on more than one occasion, but in the past money & plans for teaching and/or church work kept me from doing it. Now my life has gone so many different and unexpected places that I don't think I could come up with something that I was certain I'd still like & want 20, 30, or 40 years from now.     Tuesday June 25/13     If you knit/crochet, what sizes of needles do you need? TheRhoda who unfortunately is not playing this round but I'm sure she would help!   If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? It would be a bit of a letdown to find out mid-round, but I'd get over it pretty quickly.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? No   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? YUMMY!   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer?   hmmm, we moved at the beginning of the year & haven't gotten most of our wall stuff up yet, so it's hard to guesstimate how much room & where would be left BUT I think something in the 2 ft by 2 ft range - or smaller - could find a lovely place And what a lovely gift that would be!   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you think I might like it, go for it   Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? AND What style is your sense of humour? I'm not sure how to describe my sense of humor. Hopefully you can stalk me enough to get some idea. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? I've always wanted to try RPG but never had the right group of people around when I actually had time to do it. Right now - the only table top games I'd get to do more than a couple times a year would be family games. Scrabble, yahtzee, Apples to Apples, chutes and ladders, candyland, etc. We have Uno & monopoly, but otherwise, gently used games are cool.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try?   I have no plans to buy. Due to 2 child (born last September) and buying house (also last fall) I have not even glanced at updates in the past few years. Tea ruffles & blossom melts sound fun, and I wouldn't mind little "sample bits" of Spice Trail Fudge, Engineers Stout Fudge and/or Manly Marmite Hiking Fudge   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? not really. Postcards, sort of, but I have yet to figure out what to do with them!   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc Uhm . . . Herbal teas (often orange & spice types) hot chocolate, chai. Really good sourdough and/or garlic bread.   Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) I'd love recipes, foody info, patterns, pictures, stories WHATEVER I love all of that sort of thing, and you should find my likes/dislikes dealt with pretty well in the ?aire   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? Music Crafting writing Getting that @&$%^ Master's in Special Ed and teaching & researching in that area until I could start the "perfect" school for kids with ADHD/emotional/behavioral/learning disorders Might even go into politics - to deal mostly with education, poverty, and budgetary issues. I don't think I'd touch politics with a ten foot pole if I had less than 100 years to do what I LOVE as well as dealing with massive headaches to work for what I love in that arena.   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? If you check out Amazon, you'll see that I love donations to KIVA, PBS(and our local station), and NPR (and "my" station, 90.5 FM)   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? If by entertain you mean inviting friends over in a fairly casual setting, yes. If you mean Entertaining with a capital E and a whole lot of work, then no Our kitchen is light colored wood & white/off white appliances with light blue walls.   Are your ears pierced? Yes   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? Anything related to my favorite TV series & other fandoms would be ultra cool. As for animals: wolves, dolphins, bears, the smaller wildcats, cute and/or realistic bats. Really, anything you make (or get someone else to make) for me will have me going "WOW this is so neat!"   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Baby N is 9 months old. So if you WANT to send a children's book or a teddy bear, that's cool but certainly not necessary. Elder daughter L is 4 and a half and loves ponies, princesses, candy, koala, polar & panda bears and fairies. That being said - it wouldn't hurt her to have another chance to learn that gifts aren't always for her. So please don't feel like you HAVE to send her something   Thursday June 20/13   Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are Not really.   How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?) Always up to try new things if you have something you think I'd like.   Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure? I do most of the cooking (i.e. anything that doesn't involve going out to eat) and if I am well-rested and not stressed it is often a joy. MeiLin's store in order of interest Fears Moon Woman Accounts The Gratification Engine The Machine God     If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please dont hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send! The only things I can think of that I WOULDN'T want would be A)some thing with peppers or some other previously mentioned dislike or B)something that was just too big   Witchee dear, do you like video games? Not really   Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. ) Drink tea - especially in the morning. Eat 3 meals and probably some snacks. take care of the kids. If I can - I LOVE being able to knit and/or read before bed.   Do you wear nailpolish? ? TKO, agape, and the dark chocolates   Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love? very rarely.   Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? LOVE THEM especially fond of the scrubs & body butters - want to try the bath streusel & scent balms. Bluebird in the lilacs, bramble & apple, candy floss, avast, halcyon, nekisse, crofter, whiskers, second breakfast, the natural, lavender truffle, miss ada, silken peony, blackbird   Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? I hope to this coming fall purchase & plant some bulbs (tulips? the house "came with" daffodils. What else do you plant in the fall?) and then do some more work next spring. Favorite flowers include lavender, lilacs, snapdragons, peonies, and violets. If we do a food garden it would probably include tomatoes - beyond that I'm not certain.   Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth. YES! Those can be sooooo fun!   Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? Never heard of them before, but always willing to try something new!   Do you use solid soaps at all? If so, what kind do or don't you like? I use a lot of soap & scrubs from PaintboxSoapWorks (and very occasionally Lush) I love how they work for me, how they smell, and the fact that every purchase helps a friend live her dream   Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you? Huh. I'd never heard of it before. Soft Bubbles Sugar Scrub, Voluptuous Body Butter, underArm Candy Deodorant, Luxurious Bath Salts and Touchy Oil Cleanser (oily) sound really interesting   Do you like Lush? If so, what is your favorite product that is currently available, also, what is a product that you love but has been discontinued? I do like Lush, but I've only ever had a few things from there. If you go with my favorite perfume notes, you should be able to pick out something I'd like     Are there any companies, products, or items you boycott? I'm not a fan of WalMart, but I have been known to go there or Sam's on occasion, just the same.   As I am in Japan, what sort of things would you like from there? Any cute or clever or cool thing that you think I might like. Food, recipes, postcards, . . . ?     Monday June 17/13   Dr Who? YES! And if you don't know this, you haven't been stalking me AT ALL   How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors? I've enjoyed some things from mylipstuff.com vanilla, chai, lavender, chocolate, apple are all good flavors.   Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours? I've been trying out some different shades of red, burgandy & wine   Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? I don't know that I have major favorites - I'd like to try adagio, I know I love Zhena's Gypsy, but I tend to drink whatever I can get on sale.   What about coffee? Just tea, thanks!   Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? I have to pick one? If I ignore all the truly worthy women of history, literature, and science and go for fandoms I can pick an answer: Alexa Kingston as River Song. She's sassy, smart, tough and OH THAT HAIR!   If you were a Disney princess you would be?: Belle, she was a bookworm   Would you like a seashell from Florida? perhaps a postcard, but a shell would most likely end up broken in this house.   What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And that craft goodies would be welcome? [/font   I always have about 10 that I am trying to decide on when it's time to pick a new one and I usually have at least 2 at any time - a "big" project (currently knitting my first blanket) and a smaller portable one (Currently working on a summer wrap) On the wait list are: Christmas bulb ornaments, Doctor Who "Weeping Angels" as Christmas ornaments (no pattern yet) My own - for me - version of a Dr Who/Tom Baker scarf Christmas hats for the family (hopefully in time for a family Christmas pix, but the yarn I ordered sent me a notice that it was going to be BACK-ORDERED GRRRR! I may need more worsted Red, Green & White yarns for the hats. assorted flowers & IPad/Phone covers for my etsy store For sewing I have some baby blocks all cut out & ready to sew and stuff, some car-visor-covers that need to be started for Hub's b-day, some T-shirt that are almost ready to cut, materials for a bunch of baby bibs, and a book on sock puppets & toys that I want to start experimenting with.

Summer Switch Witch 2013 Questions

Sunday June 23/13   Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf?   There are a couple "I settled for less and it's more than enough" from a Fair to Midland song, and "eyes that speak whispering words and more" from a Sculptured song.   I'd probably like wall art or a bag or something for either. I don't know about a shirt or scarf, but if my witch is feeling creative I'd love to see whatever s/he comes up with.   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like?   Yay. I go there sometimes for beverages on work breaks or on the way if I'm too lazy to fire up my espresso machine. I LOVE the city mugs from other cities, though I have the Seattle ones along with a few others (Portland OR and San Diego come to mind).   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking?   There are a few people from the forums who know me (many of the Seattle folks) but TwilightEyes probably knows me best.   If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you?   It wouldn't bother me at all. If my witch wants to reveal on day one I'd be perfectly happy to go on chatting and witching without hiding identities. In the past all my witches have revealed at the end of the round, though I did guess one beforehand - I wasn't totally sure until she revealed.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer?   Nope   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it?   Sure, I do love hot chocolate, though not so much in the summer.   Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like?   I haven't tried it. I'd give it a go, maybe chocolate mint or salted caramel.   What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try?   I have no opinion, I've never tried it.   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful)   I can't think of any.   Saturday June 22/13   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here:   1. Credence - Opeth 2. Green Man - Type O Negative 3. Naked - Goo Goo Dolls 4. Golden Parachutes - Fair to Midland 5. In the White - Katatonia 6. Easy Trigger - 27 7. Pull - One of Us 8. Bug Eyes - dredg 9. Sword - Ashes Divide 10. Burden In My Hand - Soundgarden   what is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful.   Probably my iPhone, I use it all the time - to listen to music and audiobooks, play Bejeweled on the bus, look up important facts, talk with friends, read my knitting patterns, etc.   How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer?   I'm so tempted to say "Nothing is too big!" but that's not really true. I think anything under 4 feet square would be fine.   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for?   I actually prefer that my witch picks something out for me, but if s/he prefers to send a gift card or can't figure out what I like I'm not opposed. I don't shop a lot other than groceries, so online stores are probably good.   Is there anything from Australia you would like? eg: snacks (yes, you can ask for Tim Tams!), books, magazines, memorabilia?   I do like Tim Tams!   Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor?   Yes, I don't swear (though I don't mind if others do) but I wouldn't use or wear an item with a swear word on it. It's fine in books or music, but I'd prefer that it not be really prevalent. And I don't enjoy off-color humor.   What style is your sense of humour?   Dry and smart. I'm not a fan of slapstick or crude humor.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any?   I play board games with some of my friends sometimes - Betrayal At the House On the Hill, Arkham Horror, etc. I personally like Clue and Monopoly.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try?   I haven't even looked.   Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling?   This is probably influenced mostly by the fact that I just read it, but I think Elinor in Sense and Sensibility. I'm very logical and don't show my feelings much, like her, and I also have two younger sisters.   What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have?   I get most of my books from the library or paperbackswap.com - I usually only buy them after I read them. But I'd really like "Food for the Dead: On the Trail of New England's Vampires" by Michael J. Bielawa, which I haven't found anywhere but Amazon.   Would you like something from Empire Edibles? (http://www.etsy.com/...s?ref=top_trail)   Sure!   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit?   It's not really small, but I love the Starbucks mugs for the different cities.   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc   I don't think there's anything I would be heartbroken without. I'd be fine without perfume oil, since I have a lot more than I use regularly, but I'm open to trying new things too so I'm fine either way. I guess the only thing I could really do without is knick-knack cluttery stuff. I am trying to keep my home less cluttered. But this does NOT include handmade stuff from my witch or his/her co-conspirators - that I want!   Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type?   Not particularly.   What fandoms do you belong to?   None really. I like many things that have fandoms, but I don't really consider myself a member of them.   What cheers you up?   Knitting with a cup of tea or my cats.   Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by?   Well, I always threaten to haunt my distant Morman relatives if they convert me after my death, but that probably wouldn't be very pleasant. Maybe I can be the ghost of a metal tour van or venue with lots of good concerts. I don't want to be haunted by anyone!   What question do you hate to answer?   "What's wrong?" Usually it's nothing or I'm just tired and my face looks kinda sad or angry if I don't have a facial expression. Then people don't believe me! If there actually is something wrong I probably don't want to talk about it!   What is the best compliment you have/could receive?   This one is hard. I guess seeing others knit my patterns is a pretty good compliment!   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country.   Sure! If my witch has access to YA novels in Norwegian that would be fantastic! I speak quite a bit, but I'm only up to a very easy adult reading level or YA. And I'm always excited to get things from my witch's home country regardless.   Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one?   Yep! I mostly carry messenger bags, but I have quite a few. Plastic shopping bags are outlawed where I live, so I can always use reuseable ones as long as they're small enough to stash in my (admittedly large) purse. And I also knit so project bags - drawstring or zipper but please no velcro! - are great for that.   What's your favourite comfort food(snack or candy etc) and/or drink?   I LOVE 3:15pm Coffee Milk Tea. No, you may not have heard of it, but it's my favorite comfort beverage. I also have an unholy love of kettle korn.   Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!)   I would love a recipe. Other than being a vegetarian (no meat or fish, but milk & honey & some eggs ok) I don't like sun dried tomatoes, lima beans, or bok choy much. Also, I don't like the taste of eggs, so a recipe with egg as a binder is fine (like cookies or cake or something) but anything that tastes eggy (like a quiche or flan etc.) is not preferred.   I would LOVE a picture or painting, I collect wall art from various people I know IRL or online. And I already design my own knitting patterns, but if my witch is so inclined that would be lovely. And a story or poem or song would be nice too. I'm happy to experience the output of my witch's crafty talents.   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have?   I've always thought that if I got tired of genetic research (unlikely!) I'd go into genetic counseling. That's still a possibility I guess. I would definitely travel to Australia and dive at the Great Barrier Reef, which I would love to do in real life but might not get to. I'd read a lot of books!   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in?   Not particularly, I have plenty of interests and I'd be happy if my witch focused on those.   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home?   Heh! You mean it's supposed to have a style or color? How about old beige appliance? I don't entertain much.   Are your ears pierced?   Yep! I have the bottom holes gauged to 12, and I don't wear dangly stuff in the higher ones cuz it interferes. I do wear studs, usually star shaped.   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get?   I have some, but I'm not a collector. If they're handmade or otherwise very special then I'd like them, but I don't need random stuffed animals. I don't really like dolls and I hate clowns.   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!?   Just the cats, and they don't expect anything.   Thursday June 20/13   Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are   Nope   How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)?   They sound like a good idea in theory, but I rarely have one. I did once last summer, but we didn't have a basket and it was just me and a female friend.   If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average?   I'm pretty different I think, though aren't we all?   On the one hand, I'm a bit of a goodie-two-shoes or prude according to some - I don't use swear words, and I'm scandalized by off-color humor. I've never smoked a cigarette or drank underage or done any illegal drug. I don't even drink now that I'm of age. I am very law-abiding. I like to keep my private life private. On the other hand, I listen to melodic death metal & doom metal, have tattoos, and dress in band shirts and jeans pretty much every day.   I'm a vegetarian. I knit - but not like the occasional scarf, I've knit over 200 pairs of socks and have published designs. I'm also a scientist, and people like to tell me how smart I am. (I guess it is probably true.) Oh, and I sang in a commercial as a child and am currently in an all-female choir that sings songs by Metallica, Muse, Guns 'N Roses, Heart etc. I don't wear makeup, and I don't dress in a very feminine way. A lot of people read me as gay, but I'm not. I have a driver's license, but I don't drive and haven't ever owned a car aside from an old beater I had for 2 weeks before it broke down, but that was when I didn't have a license yet. Overall, I think I'm just confusing.   Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?)   I don't know what they are, and I'm too lazy to look.   Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure?   I do cook, and since the cats haven't figured it out yet I do all the cooking. It is sometimes a chore and sometimes a pleasure. I like to cook, but I also don't have a lot of time and it's hard when you get home and are hungry. But when I went on vacation in April my friend and I spent a large portion of the time cooking and had a blast!   Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both?   Both! I will read pretty much anything with vampires - it need not be very good. I also like classics and newer well written things, though. And non-fiction about interesting things, especially science.   Wednesday June 19/13   If you could have one rare bpal which one would you choose?   Succubus! I love it and miss it so!   (Feel free not to answer, I know it's not a standard one!) Are you kinky?   Only the tiniest bit.   Do you enjoy scented candles? Certain sizes that you like? What kind of scents or brands?   I do enjoy them, but I don't burn them all that often because I'm afraid the cats will knock them over. I like citrus or foody / fruity scents.   Thoughts about South Africa? Have you been here, would you like to go? Would you like to receive anything South African?   I've never been there and don't know a lot about it. But I'd love to receive something neat from there!   Do you like Sockdreams? If so, what styles would you prefer? (You can also link your wishlist.)   Yep! I mostly wear ankle or regular length socks since my calves are HUGEMONGOUS and I can't fit in most knee highs. (I like the Sock It To Me Curvy ones, but I have pretty much all the colors already.) I love everything with stars.   Do you need hair accessories? If so, what kind or color?   I love little hair clips with the alligator teeth - I have a few from Claire's / The Icing. But I don't want any with big bows or flowers on them which is sadly the only ones they usually have. Other barrettes don't stay in my hair well. My hair is very fine and slippery and doesn't like to be styled.   What is your favorite shade of blue?   This is the perfect round because I ADORE blue. I like to say I've never met a blue I didn't like! That said, I lean towards teals or darker purpley-blues.   Do you have any kitchen gadgets (a SodaStream, a Kuerig/Tassimo) that you want mix things for?   Nope!   If you were to start learning something new (intellectual or craft or hobby), what would it be?   I've always wanted to do black and white photography and develop my own film. I keep telling myself I'll take a class someday when I have both time and money. I'm also really interested in metalsmithing (for jewelry).   What about candy? Do you have a sweet tooth?   Unfortunately I have many.   Do you have an e-reader? What kind? Would you like to get ebooks?   I do, I have an old Kindle I inherited from a friend. I have quite a few books for it, but I wouldn't mind getting a few more.   If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please don't hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send!   If my witch is using fibers to craft with, I don't use silk (or other products that kill the animal like fur yarns or leather, etc.) And I'm vegetarian so that's something to watch out for with food. That said, I don't know that there's anything I wouldn't want to receive. I don't use blank books / journals much and keep getting them as gifts, but if it was handmade I would totally treasure it.   Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library?   I don't usually play video games, though I do have The Sims for my computer... I don't play it much, though.   Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. )   Not really. I listen to music or an audiobook pretty much every day. I also sometimes read before bed, but not quite daily.   Do you wear nailpolish? What colors do you tend to go for? What are your favorite brands? Are you open to trying indie brands?   Only rarely, I wear gloves at work (in a lab) and they wreck nail polish almost instantly. The few I have are mostly Zoya and OPI.   Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of.   I adore Succubus and was so sad that it was discontinued. I also love The Girl. I can't think of a third.   Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love?   Yes I do! And I have a collection of slightly unusual or adorable stationery.   Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer?   I've tried some of her sample size soaps - perfect for my guest bathroom but I have quite a few. I like her slip lotion, but I'd love to try one of the creams or body butters. Generally I like fruity or spicy scents.   Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow?   This is the first year I've had a little yard. So far I just have alpine strawberries, a dwarf Meyer Lemon, a hydrangea. a pansy, and a dahlia. Oh, and some mint. I got a box to make a little raised bed, but I haven't had time to set it up yet.   Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth.   Yes, I do like to try things out, and I do a bit of traveling & housesitting so small sizes are good for that.   Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like?   Nope! I don't even know what I'd want to try. Not bar soap, but other stuff looks pretty cool.   Do you use solid soaps at all? If so, what kind do or don't you like?   I don't use them much and already have quite the supply.   Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you?   Nope, I've only heard of it.   Do you like Lush? If so, what is your favorite product that is currently available, also, what is a product that you love but has been discontinued?   I do like Lush, especially I Love Juicy shampoo. I don't know about discontinued stuff.   Do witches prefer the answers posted here, but a more cherry-picked number of questions answered, or a more exhaustive list posted in the blog, which means posting here much less?   I usually post a few of my interesting answers, and keep the rest on the blog. I like having my witchee answer on their BPAL or other blog so they're all in one place.   Anyone a fan of Shiro Cosmetics? Any particular products? Eye shadow pigments in general?   Never heard of them, but I don't really wear makeup.   Are there any companies, products, or items you boycott?   I boycott Walmart because of their music censorship policies among about a million other reasons. I avoid any dead-animal products like leather, emu oil, etc. and also animal testing.   As I am in Japan, what sort of things would you like from there?   I love cute stationery, but other than that I don't know! I've heard good things about Japanese knitting books, though I've never owned one. Apparently they're all charted so you don't need to understand Japanese.   Since FB and the FB Gusp group (and the BPAL Sorority which is quiet) have become gathering places...what are some of your favorite Facebook pages you like?   I am not really a fan of Facebook and don't go on there much. But I do have a page for my knitting designs so that's my favorite I guess!   Monday June 17/13   Dr Who?   Yes! I've only watched the new series, though, and I'm not up to date yet.   How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors?   I adore it. I like flavors, and my favorite is Unpetroleum orange, but other citrus or mint flavors wouldn't go astray. Once I had a dream that Unpetroleum started coming in a coconut flavor and I saw it at Whole Foods with my friend Rachel. For some reason I didn't realize it was a dream so a few days later I was walking down the street thinking "I'm so glad they make a coconut flavor now!" when I realized that it didn't actually happen.   Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours?   Not a lot, but when I do I like subtle colors like natural pinks or not-very-red reds. I like shiny and sheer.   For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out?   I haven't tried many other perfume companies, and to be honest I have my hands full just with BPAL.   Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into?   I've tried Adagio years ago but can't name any favorite blends. Overall I like chai and love to try new and different varieties. I love Two Leaves and a Bud.   What about coffee? Would you like to get coffee send to you? Whole bean or ground? What are some varieties and/or flavors you enjoy   I only make espresso, and I'm pretty set on that.   Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why?   Um... me? Actually I have no idea! This question is way too hard.   If you were a Disney princess you would be?:   Well, considering my name I suppose I would be the Little Mermaid. But personally I am more like Belle - I like reading and don't like annoying manly men who try to impress me.   Would you like a seashell from Florida?   Sure!   What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And that craft goodies would be welcome?   I'm always knitting lots of things - it seems that my in-progress items hover around 32 despite my efforts to cut down. I have tons of crafty supplies, so I don't really need any, but stitch markers are always appreciated! I also could use size 6 seed beads for knitted projects with beads.

10 songs

Question: Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here:   1. Onuinu - Mirror Gazer 2. Big Black Delta - Put the Gun on the Floor 3. Panama - It's not over 4. iamamiwhoami - Sever (GREAT SONG!) 5. Holy Ghost! - Wait and See 6. Big Black Delta - Ifuckingloveyou (what a treat! two BBD songs!) 7. The New Division - Shallow Play 8. Tesla Boy - Electric Lady 9. Tokimonsta - Go With It 10. Telefon Tel Aviv - Lengthening Shadows (This song is AMAZING!)     Pretty much my playlist is a bunch of experimental electronic music. I mostly listen while working, and this genre works the best to help me focus and stay on track. I recently lost all of my downloaded music after my (other) laptop committed suicide at 6 months old, so at this time it really is just a bunch of electronic music.

"My love for you goes on and on"

Hi Witch Dear!   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: 1. Fuck You - Cee Lo Green 2. Blood - In This Moment 3. Sleeping Beauty: The Sapphire Fairy - Tchaikovsky 4. More Adventurous - Rilo Kiley 5. No Good Deed - Idina Menzel (Wicked) 6. Any Way You Want It - Journey 7. Brand New Start - Little Joy 8. Warsaw - Dessa 9. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor for Organ - Bach 10. Hell on Heels - Pistol Annies   Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling? Hermione from Harry Potter I love her.   What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have? Fables Vol 16: Super Team, The Fault in Our Stars, Night Circus   Would you like something from Empire Edibles? (http://www.etsy.com/...s?ref=top_trail) No sweets for me, thank you   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? Not really.   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc Really and honestly? A note from you, Witch Dear. For me, SW is about making connections with people   Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? Nope.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? My lovely mother gifted me a bottle of the sweet pea single note, and nothing else from the update caught my eye.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? My brother and I have been saying that we're going to start playing Dungeons and Dragons for years now, so maybe a beginner's guide or where to start with D&D? Or similar beginners stuff from your favorite rpg!   What style is your sense of humour? Pretty dry, I think. I love bad puns too.   Is there anything from Australia you would like? Regional spices/flavoring blends/sauces? All the things except for sweet things   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? I love gift cards! Amazon, iTunes, the Trading Post, Barnes and Noble, Target, Ulta, and Sephora are all places I frequent.   How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? Paint away sweet witch, paint away. I have a surplus of wall space, so feel free to go bananas.   What is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. My bed! When I moved to Minnesota last year, I bought my first adult bed with my own money and it is big and comfortable and FABULOUS.   Bags: Meh. I need a new purse, but I'm so incredibly picky when it comes to purses that I have to get them myself. And as for shopping bags, I reuse the plastic ones from stores so I have no use for fancy shopping bags.   Comfort food: My mother's homemade mac and cheese. It's to die for.   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country? Whatever local delicacies you have (except for sweet things) or your favorites are great! And I love seeing magazines from other countries.   What fandoms do you belong to? Hannibal, Sherlock, Dr. Who, Harry Potter.   What cheers you up? My mother's poodles, the 21 Jump Street movie, lolcats.   Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by? The idea of ghosts really freaks me out, because I can't imagine anything more awful than being dead but stuck here and unable to move onto whatever is next after this life.   What question do you hate to answer? When are you going to find a man and get married?   What is the best compliment you have/could receive? That I'm classy/a lady/have nice manners.   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? No entertaining, but we do have get-togethers. It's my mother's kitchen, so please no kitchen stuff Witch Dear. It'll just have to go into storage until I can get my own place.   Are your ears pierced? Yes, one hole in each ear.   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? I do love stuffed animals and have saved a few special childhood ones, but I'm pretty anti-clutter and stuffed animals definitely fall into that category.   Are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Nope, no kiddies around here.   Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? I've been toying with the idea of getting into tarot for almost a year now, but I have no idea where to start. So a book (and/or a deck) on how to do tarot would be lovely!

Mustard!

Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? My personality is made up of these things. Sometimes I think that I go too far. I have to check myself sometimes because I'm pretty sure that if somebody didn't know me, they would consider me offensive. To those who know me, they know that I am very kind and seek justice in this world, and my personality is made up of 1 liners and hyperbole.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? I think that I am safe from this update, nothing stands out as something that I need or must have. I am however stalking the Trading Post for some new atmosphere sprays. I really want a bottle of House Of Unquenchable Fire. I'm trying to sit on my hands, but I dunno if I can make it.     Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? I've never really played any table top RPG games. I did play D&D once at a friends house when I was a teenager, and I would watch a couple of my other friends play Magic The Gathering, but I never seemed to want to join in. I did RPG online back in the beginning of the internets days. Good ol' AOL 3.5. I played for YEARS! I was a part of this RPG called Kingdom of Cavalyn. It was pretty rad. The great thing about chat rooms is that you could actually throw dice. The chat room would calculate a specific number based on how many sides your dice had. The queen would grant you your dice number as you grew within the ranks and everybody could see who was who based on their profile. I really miss playing that game.   What style is your sense of humour? I'm kind of like a Zooey Deschanel, but not too much of a manic pixie. I swear!   Is there anything from Australia you would like? Regional spices/flavoring blends/sauces? YES! And Tim Tams please. Gimme the Tams!!   Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? They're cool! Lets see... gift cards that I'd like...ummmm... where do I shop? I don't know myself. OH! Etsy is a great place! I shop there lots. Or Amazon. Does Etsy even have gift cards? Whatever. Ebay then.   How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? Paint away sweet witch. Paint away. I have lots of paintings from the mother in law, and the grandmother in law, nothing ginormous though. I have minimal room left on my walls.   what is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. First of all, I LOVE how you spell favourite. It's so proper. Second of all I shall now answer your question. I have this old telephone stand in my room. It doesn't fit in at all, and it's hidden in a corner (since there's absolutely no place to put it - plus it's been banged up to all shit). The thing is that it belonged to my dad. I don't have much of anything that once belonged to my father. He passed away 29 years ago when he was 29. When he died, his selfish family took everything, and left us nothing. So I have this old telephone stand that I keep around. It's neat. I get to see it every day and it reminds me that there was once this man in the world that I shared my genes with. I was just a little baby when he passed away, so I don't remember him at all.

Oh god there's ketchup everywhere

Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are Not often. I'm occasionally active on the /v/, /tv/, and /g/ boards of 4chan, but it's not for anyone easily offended if you want to check there. I am pretty active on Pinterest and sometimes on etsy.   How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? BF and I haven't been on any, but I'd really enjoy it. Both the old-fashioned basket and more modern versions (cooler, bento boxes, etc).   If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? I listen to mostly metal and I'm not very skinny. I would rather learn a new language than a lot of other things.   Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?) I've never checked it out. I'll have to take a look and let you know.   Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure? My boyfriend and I both cook (most often together). We both enjoy it!   Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? I enjoy both, but it must be well-written. Fantasy is my favorite genre.   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? We don't entertain much because honestly we don't keep our apartment as clean as we'd like. I would be embarrassed to have someone over with the current state of the apartment. As for kitchen decor, it's bland apartment-style, but I'd love some cat decorations!   Are your ears pierced? Yes   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? I love stuffed animals. I also like asian ball-jointed dolls, but I don't expect to get something of that nature.   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? My kitties. And my boyfriend doesn't get to spoil himself often - I would be happy if there was anything for him!

Sqirded ketchup!

Bags: Love them! I'm looking for a holster type of purse now. I have bags like craaaaazy stuffed everywhere. I could use some re-usable shopping bags. I've been trying to convince the husbeast to pick up a couple at TJ's (they have the cutest bags!) and he's all blah blah blah blah money blah blah blah. EYEROLL + 1/2!   Comfort Food: Red wine   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country? Chocolate or other candy would be most welcome! Some local favorites too. I love local treaures =)   What fandoms do you belong to? Buffy; NMBC; Bollywood Buffy, Firefly, Star Trek, Doctor Who!   What cheers you up? Music and wine!   Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by? I'd like to haunt Disneyland. Fun all the time! I wouldn't want to be haunted by Adolf Hitler though.   What question do you hate to answer? I hate it when people ask me why I don't have kids.   What is the best compliment you have/could receive? When I was younger, I was experimenting on putting makeup on my then boyfriend (for theater), and had been so focused that I didn't realize that he was watching me. He said "God, you are so pretty" and I looked at him and he had this look of awe on his face. It stuck with me forever.   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? Red white and black with a giant Ralph Steadman picture depicting Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas.   Are your ears pierced? I have 3 in each ear, though I use only two these days. I can only wear silver or gold though.   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? Hmm.. not really. They're cute, but I don't have any where to put them, so I stuff them away or donate them =(   Are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Nope, no kiddies around here. I Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? I have a couple decks that I've never used or learned. They were gifts, and they are beautiful. I just never had the time to learn how to read them.
