Jenjin Report post Posted February 26 Burnished rosewood, clove cigarette smoke, oozing apple slices, and plum cashmere cushions fouled with trickles of labdanum.
VioletChaos Report post Posted March 22 In The Bottle, I mostly get fresh, crispy apple slices and not really anything else. Wet On Skin: Still mostly apple but with a nice addition of the labdanum starting to make things interesting. Dry Down: Still an apple-forward scent, though it's mellowed from being a fresh crunchy apple to a spicy apple compote, cooked long with yummy spices, and, most tantalizingly, that burnished rosewood bringing a gorgeous finish. In All: I'm usually not big on apple scents, but the other notes in this scent have lent themselves to become something more extraordinary. Based on this, I'm anticipating that some aging is going to make this scent go from "intriguing" to "stupefying" over the next six months or so- just in time to slather for autumn! ThatThereScentFanatic Report post Posted April 2 Spicy smoky apples!!!!! Gosh the smoky cigarette note is this is sooooo good! The apple kinda tones down in the dry down. I already have a good tobacco apple scent though so I’m not sure if I’ll need a FS. I just am not in the mood for apple very often unless it’s the fall. Looooove the cigarette though
Vaudenilla Report post Posted April 19 I’d be happy to smell of this for the rest of my life I think. Sexy, resinous apples. The cigarette note isn’t aggressive and disgusting it’s kind of wispy and balanced so gorgeously by the fresh tartness of the *perfect* apple note I’m head over heels for this one. sudenmorsian Report post Posted May 10 (edited) Oh, wow, this is gorgeous. At first, wet on the skin I get mostly sweet, yummy, delicious apple slices. Within minutes resins are getting stronger, but suddenly the clove emerges and steals the show. Completely dry this is beautiful, resiny clove scent with a hint of sweetness from the apples. This is going to age wonderfully and I guess The Crimson would be perfect in autumn as well as spring, even summer. Edited May 10 by sudenmorsian
Little Bird Report post Posted May 12 The Crimson is such a pleasant scent, and it's one that I would love my husband to wear (warm, cuddly woods and sweet resin scents are his jam). On first application, the apple slices burst forward and smell like cutting into a juicy, green apple. Then the clove spice starts to creep in and the apple turns into a fresh rose scent. An hour in, however, I just get the wood & labdanum, and something that smells like vanilla. The wood note is warm, cozy, and easy to wear, the amber gives a sweetly resinous base, and then something is quite sweet (like a vanilla amber). This is what I wanted Kiseru to be (though aged Kiseru finally came into its own for me).
Cali Report post Posted May 27 Oooh! A smokey apple, with in the background a thick dusty plum casmere and labdanum. It's whiskeyish without the alcohol. Warm, cozy, crisp - almost a skin-scent even.
abejita Report post Posted yesterday at 06:19 PM The scent matches the artwork beautifully. It’s decadent and plush and smooth all at the same time, and it does indeed smell very deep red. The red apple is central, though this isn’t a candied fruit scent. The resins, clove smoke, cashmere, and woods are in perfect balance. I am not usually a big fan of apple scents, but I full-sized this. It’s exquisite.
