Oh, instant love! This is such a bright, effervescent blend-- full of optimism! All of the notes blend together so delightfully... I can detect the bamboo and the mandarin specifically, and everything else seems to meld together to create the perfect balance of lightly sweet floral and fruit. The effect is not syrupy at all, but rather crisp and fresh, appropriate for welcoming in a brand new year. I was a little worried about the dragon's blood, as it's a note that usually disagrees with me, but it doesn't give me any trouble at all in this blend. Fire Pig stays fairly close to the skin, and the staying power is good. I am seriously considering buying another bottle of this, although I've never been one to hoard multiple bottles. This is really, really good!

I'm first? Oh gad. Well bare in mind Ive got botox wearing off, so I hope I do this justice with my head screwed on backwards. I got Earth Dog from Ebay, and I love it. It's a morpher from start to finish! It starts out floral, and fruity, bright, and firey... Then it settles down to a lovely cool incensey scent a few hours later, 3 or 4. It hasn't had a lot of time to settle, and it's so well blended pick out individual notes is hard, but it's lovely. On Nate it's a lovely fruity but earthy scent, masculine enough for him to wear. Gender neutral. I'm glad I have a bottle!

Oh no, am I first? I'll try to do it justice. I had to get this one because I'm a rooster. It starts out with a very loud peony, and I think it's blending in with all the fruit because it's almost sour. I don't get actual orange (for whatever reason, BPAL's oranges just disappear on me) but I could see the lychee and especially the kumquat (and maybe even the dragon's blood?) amplifying the sharp fruitiness of a fresh, or even slightly past its prime, flower. During this phase there's also a sticky rice/rice milk note far in the background, and I wish it was more prominent for balance's sake and because it's really nice and true-to-life. After about an hour it tones down into the soft, sweet peony note I love so much from The Dormouse, with a woody variation of cypress underneath. There's still a touch of rice in this phase, too, but it's sweeter and drier. The drydown is powdery and a bit soapy, but not offensively so in either case. While I do like it, I think I'll give it some time to age before I really start wearing it and see if that mellows out some of the starting sharpness. I'll update this review once I do!

Yum! This starts out as very citrusy with some sweet floral undertones. Wasn't terribly long lasting on my winter dry skin but dried down to a powdery dragon's blood with maybe a hint of tangerine and pine. Stays close to the skin too. Love it!

This is one that I would have ordered regardless of the notes because I am a water dragon. This is another happy fruity blend like the First Encounter. I find it to be mainly kumquat and quince with some peony and all of the other notes being supporting players. It's quite lovely and something that I will definitely wear in the warmer months. I like fruity blends when I reach outside of my usual woody,smoky, resiny dark scents, but I think that I enjoy the warm weather blends most.

Thanks to ladymeag for the decant! In the decant: I honestly thought that I wouldn't like this one due to the fact that it contains so many notes, but it actually smells really nice in the decant! The rice cake note reminds me of Hungry Ghost Moon 2013 (the only Lunacy that has actually worked for me thus far). I'm mainly getting citrus and that rice cake note in the decant. It kind of reminds me of Froot Loops (which is the same thing I thought about Hungry Ghost Moon... the combination of the rice cake note and the fruity notes must be what is giving me that impression). Wet: Froot Loops! I am just getting the sticky rice cakes and the citrus at the moment. The rice cake note was really strong at first, but the fruity notes are becoming stronger. It still reminds me of fruity cereal, though. Dry: It pretty much stayed that way the whole time, but with more fruit (and perhaps a hint of a floral and a resin in the background). I'm sorry I can't be more specific in my review, but it is hard to identify specific notes as there are so many notes in this blend. Verdict: This one was actually better than I had expected it to be (after initially dismissing it due to the amount of notes it contains). While I don't feel like I need a bottle of this, I'm glad that I was able to try it!

My first first review!! Neat! I've decided to try and give a better review. I feel obligated somehow, since it's the First and all. Heh. It has an ADORABLE label on it. I love it and wish it would be a shirt design. Anyway! In the bottle, it really does smell a lot like the way Fee smells on me, with a bit of sharpness that I suspect is a floral. Looking over the notes, I must admit that I don't know what quince smells like, nor do I know well what lychee, plum blossom or even bamboo smell like. I have a fair idea what some of the rest smell like, though. Okay, so. Putting it on. Again, there's that sharp floral that just kind of lends a soapy feel to it, much like Fire Pig behaved on me. It doesn't seem to have a lot of throw, on me. That may be because I've tried quite a small bit of it. The strongest note, joyfully (for me), is the candied melon... SO. GOOD. It's a really well balanced and well blended scent. It is VERY fruity on me, with a floral backdrop- I wish the peony would soften the backdrop a little more, but it really is lovely. It is quite obviously related to Fire Pig, but is certainly its own scent, and it will satiate my need for compulsive searching for Fee. The coconut comes out in the drydown, and it's quite lovely. It smells pink and white to me, but also red, at times. This is another one that I bemoan not having to wear on my walk down the aisle, because I think it would have made a gorgeous June wedding scent. As it dries more, it is becoming more grounded. The fruits seem to be burning off rather quickly, but it leaves a lovely, complex scent on my skin that is in no way lacking the fruit, it's just toned down a little; behaving itself. It is amazingly executed. All in all: Delightful. It's a keeper, I think. It is in the family tree with Fee, Fire Pig and Yemaya, from what I can tell. Maybe Oya, as well? And the pine? Barely there. Awesome. A true happy scent, as most of my fruity scents are! I think this one will age awesomely well. I love how much it morphs, too! It's a fabulous scent, at any rate.

Water Snake! It came in the mail yesterday, so please bear in mind the new, fresh state of this bottle when reading the descriptions. After a day of wear, I have the feeling it will settle into something even more wonderful in a month or two. Bottle: It has an effervescent citrus kick, and a subtle heady floral quality-- kind of earthy. I'm thinking maybe Indian jasmine. Wet: Going on, the strong, almost citronella citrus kicks up, bringing along something a bit syrupy. The floral is there, and it still reads a lot like deep jasmine to me. It isn't high-pitched or offensive. But there is a certain spiciness to it. I have to keep sniffing my wrist. The immediate words I get are 'deep, contemplative, floral Sweet Tarts'-- not very helpful, I know. Dry: after about an hour, this becomes more subtle, slinkier, more creamy and calm. It's almost the gorgeous, sunshine water skin scent of Water Dragon, but just a little different. Water Snake is more clean, and a touch floral still. Nine hours later, it is very faint on the skin, a delicious hint of liquid joy. I have been anticipating this blend since Water Dragon, but I tried not to let my love of the one color my impression of the other. They do bear some similarities, but each has unique characteristics that make Water Snake a new and exciting wearing experience. Water Dragon is still my favorite Lunar New Year scent. But Water Snake is nice enough, and unique enough-- despite similarities-- to warrant keeping this bottle. This will get good wear during balmy summer days. It's a very happy, prosperous scent. I highly recommend trying it, whether you loved Water Dragon or not(but especially if you loved Water Dragon-- because it's completely different in the same vein).

This year’s Lunar New Year blend also has an extra dollop of wild orange and flaming red dragon’s blood give you fortitude and strength, and, of course, to assist in scaring away the rampaging Nian. I am so happy I pulled the trigger on this little monkey with my Luper order. Wow this is so amazing, and very powerful. It goes through so many phases and is so long lasting, and every phase is so colorful and lovely. On my husband the wet was very citrusy, with seemingly the tangerine being right out front, and the dry down turned immediately into orchid! I love this, still exploring it. At the very end I smell the pine resin.

(Disclaimer: I've been sick this week, so my sense of smell isn't what it usually is.) In the bottle: Very reminiscent of Earth Rat! It's the same fizzy-fruitness-with-floral-undertones. Actually, I would be hard-pressed to tell the two apart in the bottle. Drydown: Ah, now I can see the differences. It's becoming less fizzy and the plum is definitely giving this a rounder, richer flavor than the melon in Earth Rat. That said, it's still pretty clear that they have similar notes. Dry: The longer this sits on my skin, the more the florals come out. The peony in particular is actually dominating the scent, with the other notes providing a sweet, soft background. Plum is there only as a sort of aftersmell, lingering in the back of my throat. It's very feminine and pretty, and much more muted than Earth Rat. Where Earth Rat is the boisterous celebration of the New Year, Earth Ox is the soft rituals and prayers for good luck. This would be a great scent for special occasions; I think it would be particularly suited for weddings. Overall: Although this isn't at all what I was expecting (a fizzy plum), it's still gorgeous and definitely in the same vein as Earth Rat. I'm very glad to have a bottle, though I don't think I need more than that.

Okay, so I get orange and tangerine, and then notes of plum blossom and peopny, and something that smells like oudh and incense. This one is a weird citrusy oudh floral on me, and it smells like a heavy oriental fragrance. Good throw and wear length.
