[No additional description provided.] Sprayed this over my bed last night. It's primarily a moss scent, with soft hint of dead leaves on the ground and fallen peony petals. It's floral but faintly so? I find it hard to explain. Still, primarily, green moss, slightly sharp, as is the peony, over crunchy, slightly cologne-y leaves. Not a sleepy or soothing scent, seems like a sitting room or study to me.

[No additional description provided.] This is a gentle sage grounded in a fairly dry, natural leaf note, floating over light apples. I'd worried it'd be heavily foody, but it's not. This'd be good for a kitchen or dining room, or for setting the mood before Thanksgiving - it won't make people terribly hungry, but it has enough savory adjacent notes that it'll blend nicely with cooking food and smell inviting.

[No additional description provided.] Tried this one today! It's pretty much exactly what it says on the tin, in exactly that order too. I get a slightly vegetal dead leaves blast with not too sharp eucalyptus primarily. The spearmint tends to appear and disappear like a ghost, but it helps keep the overall 'green' feel of the scent. Honestly, I'll probably wear this more in the spring. Even though the notes are theoretically more fall/winter, the impression I get is of daring green shoots shoving up through the dead leaves of the last fall and getting ready to grow like crazy.

[No additional description provided.] Strong ginger upon first spray. As in, ginger that will go straight up your nose and make you sneeze for about a minute straight. THAT type of ginger. As it starts to dry, though... ohh. Caramel and ginger, with just a hint of dead leaves. I like it more than I thought I would! Keeper. edit: my boyfriend described this as smelling like "an Autumn candle". I'll take it!

[No additional description provided.] I hate a love-hate relationship with many of BPTP’s honey glosses — the honey is just too sweet and strong for everyday wear. That’s not the case here. The honey here is definitely wildflower honey, lighter in nature and dancing with wildflowers. This gloss is part perfume, from the wildflower honey, and part cologne, from the dead leaves. I don’t think I need a bottle, but I’m enjoying the experience with my tester.

[No additional description provided.] This sprays out a blast of dead leaves, very much as a top note. Underneath the leaves is a more subtle fried baked good scent; not donuts specifically but something yummy and definitely not healthy. The two notes don’t meld together but they definitely complement each other. It’s surprisingly good.

Every leaf tells a story. Red wine dominates on wet, and then as it dries, the oudh starts to come through. The dead leaves base is a distant third. If you like perfumey red wine blends, give this a whirl. Good throw and wear length.

Dead Leaves, Ceylon Cinnamon, and Cocoa Atmosphere Spray
Follow My Nose posted a topic in Atmosphere
[No additional description provided.] I don't think I've ever been first before, but this atmo is so perfect for the fall season, I wanted to give it some love here. On first spritzing, this starts out mostly cinnamon, not too sharp or overpowering, just nice warm spice. The cocoa comes out quickly, not a chocolate-heavy scent, but dry cocoa powder in the background. As it dries, the dead leaves make their appearance, but stay behind the cinnamon with the cocoa, filling out the scent with a warm, soft woodsiness. This is perfect for evoking crisp autumn days, having a cup of spiced cocoa after a walk through the woods, fallen leaves still stuck to your sweater.- 3 replies

[No additional description provided.] The scent notes: Dead leaves and Limoncello This is Gorgeous..... Perfect classic dead leaves, and juicy lemony citrus. These two things go together so beautifully. There's a bit of sweet sugar .....a hint of creaminess.... almost, sugar milk? This is not lemon pledge, this isn't lemon candy, I don't get any booze note ..... this is it's own lovely fresh, Autumn citrus breeze, thing. This hits all of my favorite note happy places..... I'm wearing it right along with my couch. I may have to get another bottle of this because I want to bathe in it....

Every leaf tells a story. Oh wow I love this! I've had my bottle 2 weeks now and it has settled noticeably. On initial application it is very sharp with the Leaves note, with a sweetness behind it. It doesn't smell to me exactly like scotch, but a really nice warm boozy sweetness. As it wears, the sharp note fades, and the deep sweetness becomes more prominent. It lasts quite a while on me too - there is usually a hint of it on me the next day. Can't wait to see how this ages.

Dead Leaves, Magnolia Champaca, Ambrette Seed, Peru Balsam, and Sugared Chestnuts
forspecial_plate posted a topic in Halloweenie
Every leaf tells a story. The first thing I notice is that this scent is STRONG, and I think it gave me a scent headache when I first tried it. I do like it, though. For a few seconds it smells like soap, right when I first put it on. That feeling fades a bit as it dries. This is a very strong nag-champa-like incense scent. It does have a borderline soapy aspect, but I have always thought that nag champa smells a little soapy, so that fits here. This scent doesn't really change much over time. The leaves note is present and I think it combines to amp up the incense feeling. I really can't pick out any sugared chestnut, except for possibly a hint. I have a feeling this scent needs to age and settle down a bit. It does smell a bit like Midnight on the Midway, but stronger. I imagine wearing this in the summer but I'm weird like that. : )- 4 replies

Every leaf tells a story. Let me start off my saying that I'm not a big "dead leaves" fan. But that's merely due to ignorance, I haven't smelled enough of them to really know if it's something I would like. But apricot and tobacco sounded awesome. First, in the bottle, it smells like some fruit that is overripe, beginning to rot. Not pleasant. First try on the back of my hand: On the skin, it retains that overripe smell, and slowly mellows during the drydown. Once dry, it's much different. Lightly feminine, lightly sweet, lightly fruity. The first thing that comes to mind is apricot gum. I don't know of any apricot gum, so it's a weird association. Maybe a bit like the smell when you initially walk into a Pier 1 imports store. Like vaguely woody and sweet. To my nose, I'm not getting any tobacco, but if I think hard enough, I can imagine tobacco leaves. I think my skin is sucking up the apricot, I'm beginning to only smell a salty musk, which I assume is the ambergris. It eventually settles into a clean, oceanic skin musk. Second try in crook of arm: I remember someone saying that if you don't like something, try a "dry" and "wet" spot. Elbow is going to be warmer, so trying again. Still starts out overripe. I think the apricot is a bit louder this time, with the subtle ambergris in the background. This kinda smells like a cocktail you might get in a fancy restaurant. Still not picking up any tobacco. The fruit is hanging on longer, and everything is settling into a sweeter skin musk. Off to sell!

Every leaf tells a story. In the bottle: French Tobacco meets October. On my skin: We called this the perfume tour. Seriously, it was like touring a number of fantastic perfumes as it dried down - unfortunately for me, this means that at the end it dried down into a too-sharp tea scent that smelled like a number of perfume samples all stacked up. On someone else in my house: Fortunately for my testing partner, this means it goes through a number of warm, tobacco-rich, vanilla-adjacent scents and then settles into dry leaves, warm vanilla tobacco, and a little bite of tea. Absolutely delightful.

Every leaf tells a story. In the bottle: Do you remember the way The Seekim smelled in the bottle? That warm but dry cacao scent? This is like a mocha version of that. On my skin: All coffee cherry - and by that I mean, cherries that soaked in some kind of sweet coffee, maybe. It just got sweeter and sweeter and took on a very heavy cherry scent somehow. Entirely bizarre and no leaves at all. On someone else in my house: Warm, wet leaves and slightly sweet coffee. Like having sweet flavored coffee on a porch on a rainy day in the late fall. Too sweet for my tastes, worked out well for my testing partner!

Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vetiver, Nagarmotha, and Vanilla Absolute
ladymeag posted a topic in Halloweenie
Every leaf tells a story. In the bottle: mossy, warm, a little vanilla, a hint of vetiver. On my skin: I have two choices with vetiver - it either amps beyond all comprehension or settles in and provides a woodsy warmth. This scent has the second one with a nice mellowing of vanilla. There's an ozone quality here I can't quite place but it carries this scent straight into "crisp fall day among rustling leaves." Where October gives me all of the damp-day fireside warmth of leaves, this one is a nice dry-leaves scent that's not quite as sharp or bright as A World Where There Are Octobers or Sonnet D'Automne. On someone else in my house: All vetiver, all the time with a hint of soapy vanilla.- 8 replies

Every leaf tells a story. This is probably my favorite Dead Leaves scent ever. At first it's heavy on the classic dead leaves, with a hint of incense. As it dries, I get more of the incense, then just a wisp of dusty vanilla. Gorgeous!

Every leaf tells a story. This starts out like the perfect autumn scent on me. It literally is dry leaf meets a fresh sugar cookie straight from the oven. Half an hour later, the dry leaf predominates and the sugar cookie recedes into a faint bakery smell. But still very nice. I think this is my favorite of the dead leaves line.

Every leaf tells a story. Oh god it's so good. Okay so I've actually done the maple syrup thing. I've collected buckets of sap from tapped maple trees and dumped them in a sleigh and taken it all down to the sugar house. Actual maple sap has such a light, sweet smell, but this.... THIS smells like boiling that sap in the sugar house, all the rich, gorgeous steam filling the rafters with mesmerising patterns in the sunlight streaming through the board slats. The dead leaves note is strong at first but this is a scent that's primarily about the maple. This isn't pancakes, folks. This is maple magic.
