A burst of warmth on a chill October evening. Clove, cinnamon, and a whiff of copal (which gives this a bit of floral freshness). It's mainly a clove/cinnamon blend. Warm, cozy, and spicy.

It was in this apartment, also, that there stood against the western wall, a gigantic clock of ebony. But when the echoes had fully ceased, a light laughter at once pervaded the assembly; the musicians looked at each other and smiled as if at their own nervousness and folly, and made whispering vows, each to the other, that the next chiming of the clock should produce in them no similar emotion; and then, after the lapse of sixty minutes, (which embrace three thousand and six hundred seconds of the Time that flies,) there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then were the same disconcert and tremulousness and meditation as before. The chiming of the clock: ebony wood and black pepper, narcissus blossom and tuberose, clanging with dull, heavy opoponax and thick olibanum. Heavy dark wood, thicky olibanum (hence very very resinous). This blend is the resin equivalent of flipping taking a set of wooden chains and locking yourself in. It just sinks. I get a whiff of narcissus every now and then and it merely accentuates how dense this is. I wouldn't be surprised if a black hole smelled like this. Phenomenal throw, good wear length. Of course, the jerk.

Johann Christian Reinhart Brown musk, leather, castoreum accord, white cedar, amber oudh, and clove bud. Clove, amber, oudh, cedar, and whiffs of musk and leather. This is a much cleaner, muskier blend than I expected. I get clove on wet, and then I get the amber and oudh peeping out. The cedar is not overwhelming. The musk is there and it starts off as much more animalistic, but calms down once everything else is in play. Musky, clove, leather. Medium throw and wear length.

Obscenely gooey. This is obscenely delicious. Sweet and salty kettle corn with a hint of cinnamon. I want to eat this...not smell like it. But it is glorious.

Blue musk and cassis bud, wild chamomile, dried blueberry, and blackcurrant. Beautiful dried blueberry rounded out by Blackcurrant. IT's lovely.

Blackened mahogany, tobacco absolute, cardamom, grave loam, dried blood, and olibanum. Fancy male cologne. No mahogany. No loam. Just fancy men's fourege.

King mandarin, orange blossom, blood orange, leather, and teakwood. Straight up fresh orange juice with blood orange and wood. NO orange blossom or leather...just oranges. Fresh ones too. I don't know how Beth Does it, but she is AMAZING.

Black cherry, and coconut amaretto, gently laced with saffron. YUM. Okay, this is just about spot-on to the perfume version. Amaretto, cherries, and a slight toasted-coconut kind of scent. Delicious. Low throw (which I'm surprised by).

[No additional description provided.] Being me, I was worried this one would go unloved, so I had to try it out. Very logical. I'd honestly describe it as October after the Rain; it's very much of the same slightly cologne-y dead leaves note as October, with a touch of wet, cold ground underneath, like an autumn rain fell an hour or so and it's mostly dried down, but not quite all the way. Or like the sort of big cement patios like my grandmother had, with wet leaves all around. It's not a natural scent, but it's one I find surprisingly pleasant and an effective invocation of the ideas it names, even if it's not an exact olfactory match. You definitely have to be okay with atmospherics though.

[No additional description provided.] Sprayed this over my bed last night. It's primarily a moss scent, with soft hint of dead leaves on the ground and fallen peony petals. It's floral but faintly so? I find it hard to explain. Still, primarily, green moss, slightly sharp, as is the peony, over crunchy, slightly cologne-y leaves. Not a sleepy or soothing scent, seems like a sitting room or study to me.

[No additional description provided.] This is a gentle sage grounded in a fairly dry, natural leaf note, floating over light apples. I'd worried it'd be heavily foody, but it's not. This'd be good for a kitchen or dining room, or for setting the mood before Thanksgiving - it won't make people terribly hungry, but it has enough savory adjacent notes that it'll blend nicely with cooking food and smell inviting.

[No additional description provided.] Tried this one today! It's pretty much exactly what it says on the tin, in exactly that order too. I get a slightly vegetal dead leaves blast with not too sharp eucalyptus primarily. The spearmint tends to appear and disappear like a ghost, but it helps keep the overall 'green' feel of the scent. Honestly, I'll probably wear this more in the spring. Even though the notes are theoretically more fall/winter, the impression I get is of daring green shoots shoving up through the dead leaves of the last fall and getting ready to grow like crazy.

Frans Hals Black teakwood with frankincense, leather, myrrh, and lemon rind. I've only tried a few hair glosses, so bear with me, I don't have a ton of experience trying these or reviewing them compared to perfume oils. (for the record I ADORE It is Gold! It is Gold! and can still smell it the next day or even after washing my hair depending on shampoo) I was looking forward to this one because I'm a leather lover. I got a 4ml tester in a spritz bottle so I could actually spray it on my hair. Well, the lemon is lovely! It's very fresh, clean, and lemony...and not at all "lemon cleaner". I really like this lemon note. Unfortunately, that's about all I get...and it doesn't last long. Within 2-3 hours it's basically gone. Many hours after that if I sniff the part of my hair I sprayed versus a part I didn't (long hair) I can smell a difference - that there is *something* on the part I sprayed and still mostly lemony. I hope others have better luck than I did with this one.

Tea leaf, vetiver, Himalayan cedar, white tobacco, and lime. The tea leaf (I'm reminded of the Lab's white tea note) and lime stand out to me when the atmo is initially sprayed, backed by the warmth of the cedar. These remain the dominant notes to me. There's no smoky variety of vetiver here, and the white tobacco gives it a slightly perfume-y quality. We don't often get citrus-y atmos, so I am thrilled that the lime is a main player in this one, and the tea adds a nice, fresh vibe to it as well. This is really nice, and it would be great to have around in the spring and summer. I think I'd love it if it were just pure tea and lime, though, without the cedar.

[No additional description provided.] Strong ginger upon first spray. As in, ginger that will go straight up your nose and make you sneeze for about a minute straight. THAT type of ginger. As it starts to dry, though... ohh. Caramel and ginger, with just a hint of dead leaves. I like it more than I thought I would! Keeper. edit: my boyfriend described this as smelling like "an Autumn candle". I'll take it!

[No additional description provided.] I hate a love-hate relationship with many of BPTP’s honey glosses — the honey is just too sweet and strong for everyday wear. That’s not the case here. The honey here is definitely wildflower honey, lighter in nature and dancing with wildflowers. This gloss is part perfume, from the wildflower honey, and part cologne, from the dead leaves. I don’t think I need a bottle, but I’m enjoying the experience with my tester.

[No additional description provided.] This sprays out a blast of dead leaves, very much as a top note. Underneath the leaves is a more subtle fried baked good scent; not donuts specifically but something yummy and definitely not healthy. The two notes don’t meld together but they definitely complement each other. It’s surprisingly good.

With pie spices, whipped buttercream, and apple slices. THIS IS GLORIOUS. It's cider-like and also pie-like due to the apple and the pie spices, with the buttercream adding a creaminess to the scent without being rich. It makes me want cider. And pie. I was going to blind bottle this, but I ended up going for a mini decant so I could try more things from the Trading Post Weenie update. Well, I really should have just blind bottled this, and I fully intend to grab a bottle, unless there are other atmos from this update that call to me more, or the Yules hit me too hard. But right now, I am thinking I need than 4ml of this scent in my life!

I want my rooftop filled with Pallid Bats. Not only are they cute as hell, but their favored meal is the Arizona bark scorpion, whose sting is the most venomous to be found in North America. Bats > Scorpions (Sorry, Scorpios!) Tea leaf, bourbon, a sting of white ginger, and Italian bergamot swirled in amber incense smoke. I was hoping that the tea note would be similar to the tea in Theodosius the Legerdemain, and I was not disappointed. It's that lovely tea, with a very bright and zingy HELLO I'M GINGER. This might be my favourite of all the Weenies I bought this year.

Blackberry and sugared fig meat. Purple Window HG is very nice, surprisingly similar to Blackberry Sufganiyot if a little less sweet. It really captures “purple”! Moderate to strong throw, and great lasting power.

There were sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution. The scarlet stains upon the body and especially upon the face of the victim, were the pest ban which shut him out from the aid and from the sympathy of his fellow-men. And the whole seizure, progress and termination of the disease, were the incidents of half an hour. Splatters of red musk, bruise-purple violets, vetiver, and pimento. Violets on wet. As it dries I get vetiver, pimento comes on strong, and its got a musky overtone. Huh, pimentos. I don't think I've ever smelled it as strongly as I do in this blend. To end, musky pimentos. Medium throw and wear length.

Jacob Jordaens A heavy, animalic musk with cognac, fir balsam, grapevine, black cypress, patchouli, honey, and copaiba balsam Clean musk, whiffs of grapevine, cypress, patchouli and honey. But yeah, this smells like a slightly honeyed, clean musk on me. Good throw and wear length. Huh. I'm super surprised at how much I'm actually enjoying this. So yeah, not scary at all. In fact, really good.

Cornelis Saftleven Peru balsam, leather, castoreum accord, frankincense, and hay. Balsam, leather, and frankincense. With a touch of hay. This one is a balsam-leather blend. For those that are fan of leather blends, this one is a clean leather. Good throw, medium wear length. -
Giuseppe Palizzi Black pine, white sage, creeping ivy, and wild juniper. This is a very clean green scent. I get a ton of ivy, followed by juniper and sage. Honestly, the sage is almost MIA, and the pine definitely is. And it's a very IVY blend. Good throw, medium wear length. I'm very surprised by this blend as I expected a pine-sage mix, and its all ivy.
