    Tricksy

How is it that I haven't reviewed this yet? I also am one of the hoarders of the Tricksy bath oil. And shortly before this went live, I had to throw away over half of my bath oil collection because it went off. (since then I've had to throw away another bottle and a half that turned too.) So, I was thrilled when this came out. But as wonderful as it is, its not the same as the bath oil. This one is sweeter, I can really smell the honey in it. I normally am a huge honey amper-it turns almost rancid smelling on me. This one doesn't. Its a nice honey. Overall, this is similar to the bath oil, but lighter/sweeter. Its not as dirty of a scent on me as the bath oil. More civilized. I much prefer the bath oil version, but I'm glad I have this as a substitute, especially with so many of my bottles of the bath oil turning bad. I'm not sure I need quite as many bottles of it as I bought, but it should age very nicely.

    Egg Moon

I had a meet 'n sniff with lucyboo, ages ago. There we found that we were scent opposites. If it was something that smelled gross on her, it was lovely on me. Out of curiosity, she had me try on Egg Moon, since it was not pleasant on her. It was amazing on me. Spicy with a background of creaminess, but not foody at all. And I refuse to believe that there is frankincense in this. I hate things that smell like incense. This is deep, and spicy and wonderful. Lucyboo decided that since it smelled so good on me, that I should have it and gifted me the bottle. This is something I wouldn't have tried on my own, based on the scent notes. (I only like cinnamon and cassia from the listed notes of the scent-I don't know what three of them are and I hate frankincense.) Its one of my favorite scents and I've been wearing it a lot. Yay!

    Goldenrod Crab Spider

This is one of the biggest morphers on me that I've tried. Initially, its got an almost musky scent to me (I am not good at picking out notes), then it turns a little cloying and floralish. Once its totally dry, I get a bit of a plastic scent, I think that is the coconut. Its not nasty, but not something that's working for me. I'm not a fan of florals at all, so I think my eyes just skimmed past that part and saw "lime, ginger" and thought I needed to buy it. So far, no coconut has worked on me.

    Knockout Drops

This is light, and fresh smelling on me. I don't know if its the aging, or that I haven't worn either of them for so long, but it smells very similar to Lemon Scented Sticky Bat. I can't really identify any of the individual notes, its just a nice clean scent.

    What Do I Even Like?

I had a similar thing happen to me. So to go with this, don't be afraid to try anything that comes your way, even if it sounds like you'll hate it. One of my favorite scents (Vixen) is one I would have never picked out to try when I first got into bpal. I try to skin test everything that I end up with, even if I think I won't like it. I just make sure to do the testing at home, where I can wash it off if it doesn't react well with my skin chemistry. (If you get a really stubborn one that doesn't wash off, you can try a bit of lemon juice on it, that usually help get of lingering bad scents. Or a bit of cooking oil, then lemon juice, then the soap. I've had some strong smell things.) Definitely keep track of things, you'll see patterns and learn more of what is more likely to be a good oil for you. (I have a spreadsheet with things I've tried and liked, and another of things I didn't like.) (And if you haven't already, check out the for sale section, it helps out so much when you have lots of things you want to try, you can get some really good deals there.)
  6. Dear Swappee: is there anything you might have forgotten to put on your survey? I don't think so. Maybe that I am not picky at all! Are there any particular fandoms that you follow? I'm not a hardcore fandomy sort. But here is a list of things I like: Supernatural, Lord of the Rings, Resident Evil (the movies), Firefly/serenity, cookbooks (I know, I'm a weirdo, I read them for fun), Calvin and Hobbes, Foxtrot, Fraggle Rock, Powerpuff Girls, Star Wars, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, nail polish, puzzles, Do you own a wax/oil burner? (If no, would you like one?) I used to have one, but I got rid of it. I just didn't like it as much as candles. I love candles. Nice one, cheap ones, they're all my favorites. What are your thoughts on yarn and handmade yarny things? YAY! I can crochet, and I do a lot of it. But, the only things I've ever made for myself are some blankets. So, while I can do it, I never do it for myself, so anything made for me would be greatly appreaciated! I do get hives from wools, even the nice wool blends. I could manage a hat, since I have a lot of hair, it wouldn't touch my skin...but I wouldn't be able to wear a scarf or mittens made out of wool. Anything else goes though! For bath and body products: do you have a bathtub or shower? I have both! Incense, y/n? Incense and I do not get along at all. Would you like loose, fancy tea? Yum! I like everything, almost! I do not like jasmine teas, or roobios, or anything that's heavy on hibiscus, and licorice flavoring is icky. My favorites are spicy things, different chai type mixes, I also really like the white tea fruity flavors. And nut flavors. And chocolate ones. And green teas with flavors, black teas with fruity goodness, anything fall flavored (as in spices, and pumkins...not like dirt and dead leaves and rotting things). And ALL THE TEAS!!! What is your favorite fall activity? Leaves changing colors! The crisp air smells! The apple orchards! Pumpkin patches! The wee little kidlets coming to my door asking for candy! This is my first Halloween with doggies, and they WILL be wearing costumes! I hope to find a pretty tutu for BooBear, because she is a princess (and she has a homely little face, with a big underbite, so it'll be extra funny). And a hot dog bun costume for Bandit, since he's half weiner dog. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Bandit willing wears little sweaters when its super cold out and Boo had to wear a diaper after she got fixed in rescue (poor old girl was in heat when she was fixed and was a bit of a mess, my sister-in-law was her foster-mom, so we got all her information from fostering time), she didn't mind her diaper. So I think they'll both be ok with costumes. I'm in Japan, anything specifically Japanese-y you want? Japanese stuff! YAY! Please briefly describe (color, style, preferred type of beads) or provide a picture of (if it is suitable), the type of necklace (if any) you would be interested in getting. If you do not like necklaces, what kinds of jewelry (if any) would you want to wear? Halloweeny themed would be fun! I do tend to wear bold necklace more often than dainty little ones. But I am equal opportunity! What about hot chocolate/malt drinks? I don't know what a malt drink is, other than beer type stuff. If that's what is meant...Yum! If not, I am curious and want to try! If you said that you are interested in books (or DVDs or any relatively big standalone sort of item), would you be okay with having multiples of such items spread over a couple of days, or would you prefer 13 distinct themish packages? yes! I like to open presents! Ha ha ha ha ha! How into the day themeing mentioned in the first post are you? All themed? A few maybe if they are fun? Not at all? a present every day for me! Wheeeee! Speaking of DVDs - are you interested in receiving movies and if so, what sort? I like to watch movies! And eat popcorn with them! I have lots of popcorn kernels in my freezer! I put lots of butter on the popcorn. Butter is delicious! (I have a few movies in my amazon wishlist, we have quite a few movies here at home. Mostly I like actiony kinds.) Back to the books - if you said you would like books, would you prefer I send you, say, my favorite Halloween anthology or something else spooky/scary, or something off your wishlist/want-to-read on goodreads? That sounds fun! I don't have any Halloween anthology. I have lots of christmas romance ones. Halloween one sounds awesome! Spooky/scary is good too! And so is stuff off my wishlist. My goodreads is very out of date. Amazon list has books I want. But I love books, so it doesn't have to be off my list either. Yay books! (I'm not much of a fan of inspirational or drama-rama stuff.) Do you want to know who is sending to you right away, or would you prefer to be surprised on the last day, to the extent possible? Likewise, do you have a preference for specifically numbered packages or for reach in and grab according to your fancy? Reveal. Don't reveal. Its all good! Numbers, no numbers, both super fun! Present, present every day! yAY! Would you be interested in solid perfume? What about lip balm? Sure! There was a lot of mention of not wearing costumes/not being allowed to at workplaces. Would you be interested in goth style or Halloween-themed(pumpkins, ghosts, etc.) normal clothes to wear instead, and what would be suitable? I can wear what I want...as long as I have close toed shoes on and my clothes won't get caught in machines. I'm going to Rose City Comic Con during the shopping window. Any exhibitors/vendors/comics/etc. you're particularly interested in? OMG THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A GOONIES "NEVER SAY DIE" T-SHIRT! I AM TOTALLY GETTING THAT! Ahem. Yes. I mean... There are things! Are any of them particularly appealing to you and/or your inner twelve-year-old (mine is calling dibs on the Goonies stuff)? I'm sure there are plenty of things I would like! I'm not sure what off the top of my head! I like things! Day of the dead/ Dia de los Muertos stuff? Sure! I have a lovely sugar skull that I got in a previous swap. (Mr. Boy REALLY wanted to taste it.) Does anything from this shop catch your eye? Yes! It looks nice! I use lotion less than anything else, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at lotion! Any sort of fall pumpkin/spicy/fall scents. Not a fan of florals or aquatics. Dear Pumpkin: Do you have aversions to any animals or insects? No live animals/insects please! Ha ha ha ha! Anything that is fake or dead is fine by me! How do you feel about canned foods like jams and things along those lines? LOVE THEM!!! I adore jams, jelly, and butters. For pickled things, I like dill pickles (hot one and non hot ones) and pickled jalapenos. Not much of a fan of other pickled veggies. Do you have a favourite colour scheme? Colors are so pretty! How do you feel about stickers (and stationery in general)? Yay stickers! I have a fair amount of stationery already, but like always, I don't mind getting more! How do we feel about fibercrafting (knit, crochet, etc.)? wearables? crafted critters? If you would like a scarf or something similar, would you like it to be themed, like fall colors, or have a skull or other halloweenie motif/border? YAYAYAYAYAYAY! What makes you feel pampered? Fancy candy and a bath! I have a dumb question! I know it's a big joke that we get everything five years later than everyone else in the world, but is there anything specifically Canadian you'd like? Maple things, chocolate bars, or any of our creepy chip flavours? I'm intrigued by the thought of the coffee crisps that other people mentioned. And bring on the creepy chips! If I don't like it, Mr. Boy will eat! I love trying new things! A new question from me: While I am stalking the restock of the Rice Pudding hot process soap, does anything fromPaintbox Soapworks catch your eye? Ooooh! I love Paintbox! The sorbettos are my favorite sugar scrubs, and the soap! So good! Is there is any TAZO tea you have a hankering for? Zen, Awake, Passion, China Green Tips, Vanilla Roibois, Calm, Refresh? (tea bags in a tin) no roobios, or anything floral or jasmine. Everything else is awesome! How about any Teavana tea? (loose leaf) Same as above! How about Starbucks coffee beans? If so, ground (and for what kind of filter) or whole bean? I'm not a fan of Starbucks coffee beans. I like their fancy froo-froo drinks, but not the plain coffee. How about Starbucks coffee via (italian, columbia, anniversary, vanilla latte?) or Iced coffee via (caramel or regular?) Fruit flavored via (berry hisbiscus, cool lime, strawberry lemonade?) Pumpkin Spice Latte via? Oooh! Flavored! Pumpkin spice latte sounds yummy. And fruits! and caramel and vanilla! (Mr. Boy likes the regular plain via, so if you send some, he would be a happy boy.) Starbucks K-cups or Verismo pods? No maker for them! Coffee/tea travel mugs or ceramic home mugs? tea travel mug! Coffee maker (french press) or tea steeper? I've been trying to find an electric percolator coffee pot. So far, the goodwills by me haven't had one. Anything else from Starbucks/Teavana? Syrups, honey, whatever? Whatever! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I don't usually sweeten my tea or use syrups, but if they come in a small little airplane liquor sized, they'd be fun to try. How would you feel about a gently-used card game? For example, something I may have purchased several years ago and maybe played with my daughter *twice* before she became a moody teenager, and too cool for card and/or board games? Yes! Even less gently-used are ok by me! Alcoholic beverages in your goodies-- yay or nay-- if yay, what kind? Yummy! I am not a fan of bourbon. Or wine, I get migranes from wine. CANDY CORN--- YAY OR NAY? YAY! Name at least one thing that you really wouldn't like to receive in your package. Live scorpions. I wouldn't mind some taxidermy. I have eyeshadow pigments which have been decanted from--as in the powder tapped out into another container, never used directly. (I don't use very much makeup, though I love it, so I keep shadow pigments clean so I can safely share.) Would a jar of pigment handled thus bother you or are you ok with cosmetic-type stuff that has not been directly touched? Gimme! For those with fiber allergies, is it ok if you get, say, an ornament/amigur-whatsit yarn thing that has wool in the blend, as long as it's not something to be worn? Also, because I don't know, do people with wool allergies generally also have sensitivity to other fibers like alpaca? As long as its not touching my wrists or face, I should be ok! I'm not sure about other fibers like alpaca. I know wool bothers me, even the nice wool blends. Does anyone especially like or want anything from cost plus/world market? I'm sure that I want everything from them both! I really am easy and I like getting things! YAY! Does anyone need any small kitchen items or utensils? I don't "need" any. But I certainly would welcome some! YAY! Cute things are my favorites. (I have quite a few of the Animal House kitchen stuff.) Dearest Pumpkin- do you have a preference of edible/drinkable vs. non edible items in your package? Would you prefer your package heavier on one side or the other? I like presents! I like things to eat and drink and things to not eat and drink. My package can be heavy on either side or right down the middle. Its all good to me! Any guilty pleasures? TV show you're embarassed to admit you like? Musical group/preference that seems out-of-place for you? I have no shame. I like lots of crap! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! And now, a new question: to sort of piggy-back onto the question about small kitchen items, do you like to bake or cook, and if yes, are there any special ingredients, spices, or decorations for baked goods (like sprinkles in seasonal shapes or those decorative picks you put on top of cupcakes, for instance) that you would like? Oh my! Yes! All of them! I like to bake and cook! I have many Christmas sprinkles and quite a few halloweenie ones. I should have more! And everyday ones! And spices and everything! The only thing I wouldn't know what to do with would be flavored vinegars. I don't care for vinegar. But if you already picked one out for me, just give me an idea of what to do with it and I will use it! Hey, Pumpkin! How do you feel about lounge pants/pajama pants? I like them! I would need an 2X size. I am festively shaped....like a pumpkin! Do you have long, medium, or short hair? What kids of hair accessories do you like to use? Yes! I have shoulder length hair right now. I go between all the lengths pretty regularily, so even if its not something I could use right now, I will be able to use later! I can get my hair in ponytails right now.

    Mother Shub's Unmentionable Peppermint Creams

Hello Minty Mint! My you are lovely, all chilly and festive. What's that? You brought your friend along for a playdate? Oh, how fun! I always did love Strawberry Shortcake dollies! That was very kind of you to ask her to wash off her strawberry scent so I could smell you more. The two of you together give me a nice nostalgic feel. If there had been a classy, minty doll, it would be you! In other words, the almond turns to plastic on me, just like usual. I just had to give it a try though. The mint is very nice, similar to a Lick It scent, but more MINT and less sweetness.

    Winter Solstice swap!

YAYAYAYAY!!! Since wishlist links never seem to work in forum mail, won't you please re-post your wishlist links here, so they're readable? Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2VIHZXZ6QO1U3/ref=topnav_lists_1 bpal: http://www.bpal.org/topic/127-wishlist/page__st__1950__p__1597467#entry1597467 (I may be re-answering some of these, since I think I answered some in-thread, so if my answer differs from the other answers, use the ones you like best!) Yule update/House of Gloi I have already put in an order for the decants I want to try for bpal. House of Gloi, I would like to try a butterbomb, or bubbling scrub, or sugar exfoliant, or a lippie, or a soap. Ha ha ha! I am easy! When you think of light this time of year, does anything sound particularly delightful? Are candles your favorite? Or are you craving some strings of Christmas lights? Do you have a fireplace/woodstove and want some firestarters? And somewhat tangential, do you like incense, and if so what scents do you like? Candles and christmas lights. (Especially the ceramic bulb christmas lights, and if there are any of the individual twinkle bulbs, that'd be awesome. They're harder to find now, so if you have any that aren't getting loved, I'd happily take them.) No place for firestarters, unless I get really mad and decide to burn down buildings. I don't care for incense. Are you going anywhere "dressed-up" over the holidays? Any swank parties, big balls <snicker>, or black- tie rainbow gatherings in your holiday plans? If so, would you like something fancy for your hair? Do you prefer barettes, headbands, ponytail holders, hair sticks, combs, or some other as yet unnamed hair implement? maybe barettes, or if you feel fancy, a cute feathery clippy thing-or a flower clippy, or really fancy...I like the idea of those little flapper-type headbands. Would you like a little sparkly piece of jewelry made just for you for your special soiree? I'm not promising you diamonds or anything, but any gemstones that you are particularly fond of or that hold special meaning for you? I like rocks a lot. Like jaspers, agates, quartzes. Also, garnets are very lovely, as is amber. My engagement ring is citrine, and I love that too. And misshappen pearls. I generally like the stuff that isn't grade A, the flaws make things have character. Do you prefer bold and statement making pieces or something more subtle and intimate? whatever you like! I'm easy! I have a mix of both at home. I use naturally shed and found feathers as well as upcycled/recycled leather and fur from scrap and vintage. Are you vegan or would any of these be a problem for you? I also do not object to found bones and skulls. starbucks/teavana: No thank you to starbucks coffees. They all have a burnt taste to them to me. I do love caribou coffee, or other kinds though. I use ground more than whole, but I do have a grinder. I use my friends k-cup at work, so cups for that would be fun! Teas are awesome! I like them all except for roobios, licorice, or jasmines. My favorites are flavored and chais. Though some tasty herbals are good to, I try to limit my caffiene to early morning only. I could use a cute infuser for a cup. I think I added one to my amazon list, but I'm not picky about it. One of the tea bag squeezer, fisher-outer thingers would be nice too. I just use my fingers right now. Looseleaf or bagged is good for tea! YAY! homemade treats: I like treats! All of them! Minus licorice. Not that I know of anyone who makes homemade licorice. Mixes are good too! sparkly: Of course! Glitter covers any mistake or anything you want to hide! Cover things in glitter! Ha ha ha ha! I really like glittery nail polish. Probably wouldn't use body glitter so much, but a sparkly eyeshadow or hair thingy would rock! bath things: YAYAYAYAY!! Bath, shower, I love it all! My favorite scrubs are from paintbox, I like the ones that turn soapy more than the oily kind. I haven't tried a salt scrub all all though. Soaps are fun! And so are body wash thingies, and bath bombs are a special treat! I like bath oils too, and bubble bath thingies! I love it all! things to hang on the wall Sure! Maybe keep them on the smallerish size. I have some wall space. (Smallerish meaning, maybe nothing over 11x14) Is there anything that keeps catching your eye but which you never buy because it seems too frivolous? I could use a nice nail file. More dry shampoo, I have a sample from Puur that I like. It would have to be one of the lighter colored ones, my hair isn't very dark. favorite colors: I like colors! All of them! I'm not super-fond of pastels. Fandoms? I guess Harry Potter, Supernatural, Firefly, Star wars, Powerpuff girls, Fraggle Rock, the Resident evil movies, hunger games. Probably some others too. I'm more of a like the stuff and would wear a t-shirt or have a book mark sort of fan. I don't dress up like characters, and probably wouldn't hang a bunch of posters on the wall sort of fandom person. Smaller items are fun! ereader? nope. I am dinosaur. RAHHHHHH!! *stomp stomp* Hair stuff? Sure thing! My hair is too short for ponytails or chopsticks. Headbands are sometimes a hard fit for my giant melon. Flowers on a clip are fun, and stuff for helping curly hair. (It curls nice if I give it some mousse or something like that, otherwise its fairly wavy.) Lip gloss/balm? Gloss and balm, yes! I tend not to wear lipsticks, though I do like things like the Clinque Chubby sticks, they're sort of in between a balm and a lipstick. I also am not good at coloring in the lines, so stains get a little out of hand and so do really dark colors. Green thumb/plants? sort of! I grow some things very well. Particularily things that like a small amount of neglect. Things that need watering every day (or every couple of days) tend to die on me. I do very well with cactus, and succulents, and african violets. (though my orchid has just grown 3 new leaves, so you never know.) I have a varigated spider plant, so if you have a solid colored one, that would be fun to get a spider from that. I'll try any plant! (Mr. Boy thinks I have plant issues, and I shouldn't bring anymore home. Ha ha ha! Silly boy! Of course, a present plant would be different.) I would worry a bit about the plant sitting outside if it was in the mail though. Outside, I am working on getting my garden going. I would love seeds. Any sort of wildflowers/self seeding sort of things. I am going to turn the backyard into a wildflower garden. Also a little herbal kitchen garden kit thingy would be fun to try. I have more windows now, and most of them are nice east windows, so I might get enough sun for them. (I haven't tried herbs in my new house yet, just in the apartment, and they either didn't like it there, or they didn't like that they weren't getting watered much.)

    Switch O' Ween help!

Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. YUM! I have had some of thier teas. I like spicy or flavored blacks usually. The occasional herbal (if its not roobios). Some of my favorites are the Valentine's tea, the Chestnut tea, and their chais. (I have some of all of those.) I think I have a gingerbread one and a peppermint candy cane one too. I would like their christmas one, or anything else that sounds nice. It would be fun to try a fandom tea, just for giggles. (I do not like jasmines either, so other than jasmines and roobios, anything goes!) Do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I do like video games. Mostly I play free games from Gamehouse on my computer. I like the little time management ones. I have a Wii too. I think I have all the games I want for there. (I have the lego games, mini ninjas, wii sports, wii sports resort, cabella's big game hunter, and a couple of the mario games.) Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of. You're a funny monkey! My witches and swap buddies have been very generous to me, plus I tend to snatch up bottles of things I like. I have no self restraint. I think I have a few wishes on my wishlist of things I've tried and want more of. Otherwise, the rest is stuff I haven't tried, and would like testers. Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? I LOVE paintbox! I adore the scrubs. I'm not much of a lotion wearer. Soaps are always great! I like similar scents to what I like in oils and candles. Spicy, foody. Not a fan of florals/aquatics/clean scents. Pretty much anything patchouli is awesome. Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? I do! I grow things that people give me! I'm going to start working on turning the back yard into a wildflower garden. No mowing required then! So any wildflowery sort of seed would be good. Or anything else that reseeds itself for the next year. Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? Sure! I like stores! Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? Ummm..... Name five small things you could use, but might not think to get for yourself? Ummmmmm.... Is there anything from a farmer's market you might like? I like farmer's markets! And the stuff that is there! Do you have any upcoming away time I should be aware of, for shipping purposes? Nope! Would you like anything from Sock Dreams? Sure, if its big enough to fit me and my pleasantly plump calves! Is there anything in the Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic update that you're interested in? Oh my! This looks like an update made just for me! I'm probably going to hunt down decants of all the ones I want to try. I'm a bit of a snot that way. Is there anything my mom's etsy shop that you're interested in? Yes! I like the feed bag bags! Especially ones with chickens or cows on them! Are you okay with semi-spicy foods right now? I'm thinking like curry or chipotle? If you were to choose a chili powder would you go Hot, Medium, or Mild? Yum! I'd probably say medium or mild. My husband can't take much heat, so he wouldn't be able to eat what I made with them. If you were this mystery witch's witchee, would you be interested in Spoonfudge (http://www.spoonfudge.com/) or any other such "ordered online" sweet? I like sweets! Also - Double checking everyone's baked goods status. Home-made baked goods or other food stuffs OK? GIMMEE! Is there anything you'd like from Lush, witchee? I think they're high priced, but I do like thier stuff, I've tried a few bits of thier soaps, and a couple of thier bath bombs. I have a magic muscles massage bar at home right now. If you like earrings, what kind? Dangly earrings, hoops, studs - what kind do you like? How long do you like your necklaces? Or would you prefer to just get a pendent, so you can size the chain yourself? I like earrings! Necklaces, on the longer side. Choker length stuff is too short for me. maybe 18"? If I were your witch and were to paint you something, what would you absolutely love, what would you feel ambivalent toward, and what would you not like to see or receive? GIMMEE! Are there any craft project/s you are working on now that you need supplies for? Or rather, is there a craft project you've been wanting to do but need stuff to start? I can always use more yarns, even leftover bits from your projects. I turn the bits into amiguri or kitty toys, and I'm all out of bits. Skeins are nice too! I'm not picky about what material it is made out of. What do you think of hair sticks? Would you like a set? Love hair sticks. My hair is not long enough for them anymore though, and probably won't be that long ever again. Maybe if they were tiny little hair sticks, I could make two little buns on the top of my head...like a little kid with piggy tails. Actually, that would be cute, so I would like them! Is there anything you'd really like to have/try from Trader Joe's, or any other popular-but-not-available-everywhere store? Not that I can think of. I have access to pretty much all of those stores. Would you rather have something fun or practical? I like things! Witchee, would you like a set of Cards Against Humanity? It sounds fun! I think I would like a set! Table Games - do you play them? If so, which ones, and which versions, and are there any goodies you might like related to them I like games, but we have lots that don't get as much use as they should. However, I really want a copy of Zombie Dice. Also, I like puzzles. Witchee, are you in need of any particular spices? Not that I can think of. I do use a lot of blend for putting on meats. We like all kinds of meats. (I do not like caraway seeds though.) If you were my witchee, would you be interested in anything from my store or something similar? (Nut-made by LisaNut on etsy.) Some of the scarves are quite nice. I do need to get a plain canvas tote bag sort of thing too, if you can make one of them. I have a lot of patches/buttons that need to decorate a bag, so something very simple would be best. I plan to use it to take books back and forth to the library. Say your witch works at a used bookstore. what kinds of things might you like from there? cool old pulp fiction paperbacks? tarot cards? (we have those.) a dr who pen? books about haunted cemeteries in seattle? you may have all of these things:) oh, and also movies. and cds. I don't do tarot. Pulp fiction paperbacks sound fun! Or stuff similar to the penny novels that people read about the old west guys. Not a Dr. Who fan. Old church cookbooks are always a hit! I adore used books! Witchee, the Haunt Halloween update goes live tomorrow! When it does, please post right away and let me know your dreams and wishes! I peeked at it, but didn't read everything. (Then I won't need to order things!) I have some of the lippies from last year, I think a candy corn and pumpkin cake. So, I wouldn't need more of them. I like thier skin gloss stuff, I haven't tried any of the perfume oil. I generally like scrubs. Ha ha ha! I am not helpful! I've got some canned goods put up -- mostly jams/jellies, some apple butter, some applesauce. Want some? If so, what kind(s)? Yes! To all jams/jellies/butters/sauces! I like all kinds! (I do not like vinegars though, so if you made some flavored vinegars, I wouldn't care for those.) How feel you about lip balms, glosses, and lipsticks? Any particular favourite scents/flavours? Any favourite makers/sellers? yay! I am not good with lipsticks, I prefer balsm and glosses. Dark colors make me look like a clown. Since wishlist links never seem to work in forum mail, won't you please re-post your wishlist links here, so they're readable? Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2VIHZXZ6QO1U3/ref=topnav_lists_1 bpal: http://www.bpal.org/topic/127-wishlist/page__st__1950__p__1597467#entry1597467 Are you a fan of anything that you would like a tshirt of? If so, what size would you wear? I like tshirts! Probably best to get a men's XXL to make sure it fits. I do look at teefury everyday and have been grabbing the ones I like from there. I like minions, Supernatural, Firefly, Harry Potter, bpal (Obviously), any sort of Supermario stuff, probably old cartoons, powerpuff girls, nightmare before christmas, muppets, anything fun! I do need the shirts to be dark or bright colors. Do you love, hate, or are indifferent to.....pumpkin flavored things? Depends. Pumpkin flavored hershey kisses=not good. Pumpkin flavored latte from caribou=awesome! Dear future Witchee, did you get anything from the Beaver Moon or Weenie updates that I need to know about, so I don't accidentally repeat anything? I'm going to skip the Beaver Moon things, but a decant of either would be nice. I've got decants on the way for the Weenies from the lab (the ones I was interested in). I haven't made my Trading Post order yet, but all the Tricksy is going to come live with me. Ha ha ha ha ha! Name some DVDs you wouldnt mind receiving, or are they on an Amazon list? I've got some on my list. Besides the list, I would adore a copy of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. DVD or VHS would work for me! Do you want anything from Starbucks or Teavana? Tea, tea makers, rock sugar, tea tins, coffee, via, via refreshers, mugs, tazo tea...? I'm snooty...I don't like Starbucks coffee. (It all tastes very burnt to me.) I do like Caribou coffee a lot. Teas are good. I don't use sugar in my tea. And I like all the teas except licorice ones or roobios ones. Spicey ones are a hit, and vanillas and other flavors! Halloween Candy, Decorations, and Costume supplies - What kind are your idea of FUN and which ones would you thoroughly dislike? I didn't like the caramel apple milky ways or the pumpkin spice kisses. Everything else is delicious! Particularily candies that are shaped, like the batty peppermint patty, the pumpkin peanut butter cups, the snickers halloweenies. Yum yum! Decorations, I tend to go "not gross", all of them are good. I have lots of windows now, so stuff that can go in windows is fun. Lights are always fun! Some knick knacky things are good! Costumes, I normally half-ass a costume. SOmething like wearing a headband with ears on it, or a mask. Nothing really elaborate. WHAT traditions to you partake in for Halloween? Knowing what you do our how you decorate or how you celebrate? We watch a Halloweenish movie and hand out candies to kids. I always carve at least two pumpkins. I have the little sawblades to do that. So more patterns would be fun. Or extra sturdy scoopers/scrapers for cleaning out the pumpkin. I saw some pumpkin kits that looked like lightbrites that get stuck into pumpkins, those would be fun. Hey, Witchee, it's getting cold. Socks, scarves, hats or arm warmers? My first pick would be socks or mittens! Keep in mind I have a size 11 in women's foot, and I need men's XL gloves (and some of them are a little tight). Scarves and hats are nice too. My head is also big! And I've never tried arm warmers (My arms are rather large too, I can measure them if you like). Ha ha! I am a broken record! (On the bright side, I'm also 5'11" so small arms, feet, head or hands would look very disturbing on me.)
  10. Do you or would you burn incense? What kind? Nope. Incense=church How about scented (or unscented) candles? YAY! I take all kinds of candles! Do you prefer physical books, or would some form of e-reader book be okay? And if ebook, do you prefer Kindle, Nook, iBooks, or something else? Physical books are best. I don't have an e-reader and I'm not willing to sit at the computer to read. Oh, and are you okay with Graphic Novels/Comics? I am! I haven't read many of them, I have most of Sandman, and I have the Wash comic from Firefly. Jewelry: Gold or Silver? I do tend to grab more silvers, but I wouldn't mind getting a bit more gold stuff. I don't have much of it, and sometimes gold is more matching, if I'm feeling matchy. Whether you do or do not nail polish, would you be interested in nail wraps of any sort? Could be festive or not, any brand (in addition to things like Jamberry, there are plenty of other brands out there). Sure! I don't usually wear the nail wraps-I tend to chip the polish within two days of putting it on. Sometimes even the same day. My work is very hard on my nails. But, I would use the wraps for special occasions-where I have a few days off, so maybe festive? Would you like some home...made(?) fall pictures or photos to frame or put in a photobook? I will stalk the toads in my yard for you! Any particular things you'd enjoy photos of? Yard toads! YAY! I like pictures of things! Are there any things (characters, bad guys, halloween-related-things, fandoms, etc) you absolutely can not stand or don't want in your goodies? I don't really like the idea of a Twilight or 50 shades for me. (I think its fantastic that they exist, and seem to draw in people that don't normally read and that sort of stuff, but they just aren't for me.) Do the mp3 player/radio station thing!(optional, just because I always like this question ) Will do later, my computer is really really really full, and itunes takes a while to load up. I should go to bed. Anything from the [Lilith's Birthday] update strike your fancy? Not enough to want a decant I know we had a question about getting into new hobbies/crafts already, but is there anything else you've always meant or wanted to learn about/learn more about but haven't got around to getting a book on or watching a show about it? sure! Ha ha ha ha ha! I am not helpful! Good thing I'm easy! Both Sihaya Designs and Elements and Artifacts did updates this week - anything that interests you? Didn't look-but yes! I have a pretty massive farmer's market by me - is there anything that you would like from there? Yes! Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? yes Are there hot drinks that you like this time of year? If so, what would you like? yes! Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? There were guinea fowl close to the cabin we vacationed at. When we'd go to town, they'd be out in the owner's yard. If you opened the car window and asked them a question, they (all three of them) would run away as fast as they could, while squawking. It was HILARIOUS! How about homemade infused vodkas? Sounds interesting! Name five small things you could use, but might not think to get for yourself? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!! If I thought of them, I would have boughten them! (I give myself a small present when I go to the store and it sucks. I hate going to the store, so I bribe myself. It might be a candy, or a nailpolish, or a cooking magazine.) If you are my trick or treater, would you be delighted by some cool Halloween fabric or would you wonder if I'd lost my mind? Yes! Ha ha ha ha! I would be delighted, and also a little confused. I do not sew, though I do have a machine in a lovely little fold-away cabinet. I would find something to do with it! (I can make pot-holders!) What ONE non-discontinued GC scent do you absolutely love, but for whatever reason, haven't yet purchased a bottle for yourself? I am a bad bad girl and have bought the gc that I've tried and liked. Decorative box (not bigger than say, a cigar type box) - yea or nay? Mine are all full up. So I could use more! On a scale from horrified to enraptured, how do you feel about this fabric? (ETA: if it were to be, say, a bag? >.> ) I didn't see the fabric, but I can say that I would be enraptured! Kitchen stuff? Say spatulas with skulls on or an apron with a Halloween theme AIEEEEE!!!! I do not let myself buy any, we don't really have cupboard space for them. But if its a gift....well, that's different! Ha ha ha ha! A Game of Thrones: are you a fan of the TV series? Have you read the books or would you want to? I've been meaning to try the first book. I used to love those long epic fantasy novels, I sort of lost my taste for them (Wheel of Time and those Richard/Kahlan books, anyone?). I'm willing to give it a try. Would you like any home made jams? I can guarantee they are very yummy. Yes! What is your favorite Halloween/Trick-or-Treat candy and would you like to have it included? People have favorites? Have you ever seen Fraggle Rock, when the Fraggles are eating Doozer built structures. That's what I am like with trick-and-treats. How much edible stuff do you want/would you expect? A little something in every package? A couple of treats along the way? Sure! Edible is nice, I like to eat things. I won't cry if there is no snackables. I also won't cry if it is all snackables. Really, I am insanely excited about this swap, and I will love whatever you give me! Assuming that I have a budget of X, would you mind if there were one big package that is 1/2X with the rest significantly smaller, but still fun, or would you prefer a more 1/13X breakdown? I like presents! One big present, many little presents! If I have something to open up everyday, I am happy! It could be a funny comic you cut out of a newspaper. Anything, really. Reveal - would you prefer it in the first package so we can chatter about things as you open, at the very end so you can drag out the surprise, or dealer's choice? I am easy! If you've noted that you like coffee/tea/hot cocoa or anything of the sort, can you elaborate? Do you like/not like flavored varieties? Would you prefer whole bean/ground/bagged/looseleaf/instant/have-to-heat-it-in-a-pan-with-milk? Do you feel like you've answered this question over and over again? Ha ha ha ha ha ha! [is there anything you would like to try from the]WEENIES?!?! I am a naughty girl and already signed up for decants of ones I thought might be nice on me. Are there any animals, birds or bugs that you don't like, scare you, or just plain freak you out? I think I'm ok, unless you start mailing live animals. So, please no live animals. Who likes to write with fountain pens? I'm not allowed to paint inside stuff anymore. And can barely be trusted with outside stuff (I fling paint everywhere). I imagine I would do the same with a fountain pen. I don't think I should have one. Do you have a preferred type of pen? The free kinds? Mr. Boy frequently comes home with a pen in his pocket from work because he forgot to take it out of his pocket. Every so often he brings a big stack of them back. We still have pens everywhere. What type of cellphone/mobile, music player, reader, tablet, or other gadgets are your babies? What are your opinions on accessories for them? Hard/soft cases, decals, danglies, carriers, etc? AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! My ipod is a generation 2 nano, with a screen that doesn't work anymore (you can sort of puzzle out something, if its at the top of the screen). My phone, is just new enough to work with the sync on my car. Barely. So, nothing needed there! What kind of tea do you like? The kind that goes in my mouth! I like everything, except roobios, jasmines, and anything heavily licorice or floral. Do you have any favorite Halloween/fall-theme animals? bats? New (Weird) Question: I do a lot of resin work, specifically, insects in resin. Would receiving one be horrifying? Okay? Interesting? That would be very cool! I would maybe have to fight Mr. Boy for it. (He took all my other cool animal things for his Man Cave. I said he could, but it was hard to let him have them-a couple of grouse and pheasant tails, and skulls.) Resin bug would stay mine! Do you enjoy real, old fashioned scary? Not the new-fangled psychological scary...Im thinking dracula, frankenstein, ghosts, mummies, goblins, the disembodied hand...etc... I do not like the torture porn. I do like the old stuff! And the slightly less old stuff. Are there any other perfume, or bath & body companies that you would like to try? Any that you have tried & would like more of? Or any you have tried, but don't want more of? Yes please! I try all things! Are there food items that you adore, or have tried once, that you can't get where you are now, but would love to eat again? If you happen to be in Australia, the cadbury bar with the popping candies and jelly beans and chocolate was really good. But so are the koala candies, and marizpan from germany. AND ALL THE CANDIES!! Also, I like things to eat that aren't candies! I know we had a question about mix cds in the q'aire, but if you answered yes to a homemade cd, would you be interested in a themed mix? Such as Halloween classics, or dark and stormy classical, etc. and so forth? Oooh! That sounds lovely! And random mixes are fun too. I tend to play my ipod on shuffle a lot. So I'll get a song, a section from an audio book, then a funny joke, and something else. I try to be little less mixed up when other people are listening though. How sick a sense of humour can you cope with? I'm with Ahania...werewolf eating a baby-hilarious! Werewolf raping a baby-not funny at all If I were going to make you a polymer figurine-or-pendant-or-earrings-or-..., is there any particular thing you'd like more than other things(ex: a tiny 'you', or witch's hat earrings, or a ghost pendant, etc.)? I like things! Would you be interested in a handwritten journal that had stuff for and about you(no, not stalker notations); for example, things about your astrological sign, or birthday, or year you were born or recipes or poetry or pictures? Like, a book that you could read, that was assembled just for you(in my sort of sloppy, lefthanded writing[i will write in print, not cursive, so you can still read it]) Yes! Probably not big into the poetry though, unless its short pieces. I have a hard time paying attention to them. (Short things like a lot of Emily Dickenson's stuff is ok though!) Are there any candies in particular you'd like to try? Or that you just can't get enough of? I like eating candies! Are there any candies you can't stand, and don't want to see in your box? Candies that are green and fruit flavored should be lime. Green apple is not a flavor! Down with Green Apple! List 5 or 6 TV shows/Movies that you enjoy watching (and possible villains, if you can think of any): The earlier seasons of Supernatural I like Maleficent from Disney-I have one little toy of her-its super-cute (I always wanted her to win, even as a child...she was just so awesome) Firefly/Serenity Powerpuff Girls (my favorite villains there are Fuzzy Lumpkins and Sedusa, but I like them all) I like the Resident Evil Movies Hocus Pocus (I tried picking more halloweenie things, or things that might work for having villains. I like all these lots!) Decorations: can you have them at your desk at work (assuming you have a desk at work) and would you like some? I have a desk at home! And I could use some small things! Are there any books or short stories (or poems) you especially associate with this time of year or always want to reread in autumn? I gave away my hardcover copy of Graveyard Book, I could use a paperback! How do you feel about skulls? Yay skulls! Do you like plushies? One that's small and possibly handmade? Absolutely! I generally only get or display ones that are better than the average store plushie. Lip balm: tin or tube? Tube please.

    The Twisted Oak Tree

Egad! What was I thinking? Ok, so I was thinking that wood scents generally are nice on me. And rotted stuff turns pleasant. Somehow I thought they would offset the moss/ivy. I was wrong. Very, very, very wrong. I amp mossy stuff. This is cloying, and super mossy/green. Not good. And like most things I amp...I can't get it to wash off. The smell is so strong, its like I spilled an entire bottle on myself, not put on two drops from a decant. help me!

    The Perilous Parlor

This smells amazing in the bottle, very pear and delicious. On my skin, it changes quite a bit. Most of bpal's vanilla's turn to plastic on me, and that's exactly what this did. Its not an unpleasant plastic, sort of what a Pear Strawberry Shortcake doll would smell like. I would have loved this when I was younger, but its just a little too sweet and plastic for me now.

    Traveling with BPAL

Plumbers tape on the threads might be ok. My problem was with plastic wrap put over the mouth of the bottle, then the lid put on top. I don't think the plumber's tape on the threads would actually touch the oil in the bottle, the way the plastic wrap would. Especially if you just put it on the screw threads that were furthest away from the opening. Might be worth a try with a partial bottle of something you don't like, to test it. It really sucks to lose a lot of stuff. Also, the plastic was on my bottles of bath oil for a long time, months even, before I opened them. Possibly over a year on some of them.
  14. We are in our house! AIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!! No more poopy apartment for us! No more noisy neighbors! no more creepy guys walking past our window! (And I will fill in the answers to the questions I pasted in here, right now, there is no internet at home, so I'll be a bit behind until we get that hooked up. Ask skyelyric if you need help with something and its not in my blog. We babble a lot, and she's your best bet for knowing me.) In case the linky doesn't work when you get my questionairre,Here is my Amazon wishlist. YAY! And Bpal wishlist! Monday July 1/13 I know Canadian chips can be different than others, how does "dill pickle" or "ketchup" sound? If you were getting a custom Haus of Gloi blend, what four notes would you choose? Summer notes listed here and you can click through to the whole list from there. http://www.hausofglo...er-single-notes QUESTION! Do you like Kickstarter? Are there any projects up that you really like? QUESTION! If you have an Etsy wishlist, what are your top 5 favorite things on there? The price is unimportant, not because I'm rich, but because I'd like some inspiration. Festival this week -- includes an "encampment" and an art faire. any interest in trinkety things from the encampment or cards/prints from local artists How do you feel about glitter? does loose glitter make your skin crawl or would you bathe in it? Do you want/need/like/collect journals? If so, do you prefer lined or unlined? Does the idea of wearing a plant as jewelery give you the warm fuzzies or the heebie jeebies? Gourmet popcorn, yes/no? What do you like: glazed, savory, candied? Nuts or not? Any flavors you wouldn't like (like Bacon CHeeseburger, Pizza, Watermelon, Root Beer Float, Hot Chili Dark Chocolate)? Or if any of those sounded interesting, how weird is weird enough? Question: I make my own hair gloss, would you like some detangling and very shiny hair gloss made by me? This is a 'cone rich blend, not the least bit natural. Thursday June 27/13 I live near the Brown and Haley outlet - makers of Almond Roca and Mountain Bars - would you want anything from the outlet? For nut-haters, they have nutless Roca For the no-sugar folks they have sugar-free as well. I also have an Oberto jerky outlet local to me - any wants there? How do you feel about home-canned goods? Do you like BPTP clothing? What size do you wear of: Baby-doll T's Regular T's yoga pants Also, what is your favorite lunacy (or non-lunacy) T-shirt that you don't already own? Or other clothes from BPTP? What else do you love from the Trading Post site, and need to have? Is there a particular movie genre that you like (Fantasy? Drama? Romantic Comedy? Musicals? TV-Series, etc), and what format would you prefer: DVD, Blu-Ray, or something in the cloud (like Amazon, iTunes, Flixster, etc)? -Following up on the Adagio question from earlier, what are you top five wishes, for teas and blends? -Do you have anything that you do ritually, every summer? -What are your top five wishes from ThinkGeek? -Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? Wednesday June 26/13 Do you have any long trips coming up? If so, could you use things to occupy yourself? I'm going to Jungle Jim's next week (it's basically a massive international food gasm in Ohio, look it up); would anything interest you?Did you say food?? Name three things that you could use, but might not necessarily think to get for yourself? Does anything from the TP Etsy update interest you? I just found out Oreo is launching ones with watermelon flavor in the USA only. Is it something you would enjoy? If you don't consider yourself in a "fandom" (and I get that ... I don't really go overboard on my liking of any TV show/Movie/etc), are there any TV shows or Movies that you really like and/or watch regularly or any actors/actresses you wouldn't leave standing in the rain (unless you like looking at them sopping wet, in which case ... well, nevermind)? Ummm...yes? So, dear witchee, would you like some Tw*twaffle soap or scent or lotion? I'd probably choose soap, unless its in my scent likes. (I haven't checked out its notes.) I'm a lot more willing to use soaps that have notes that don't quite work for me. Has anyone asked about tattoos? Do you love them? Hate them? Have any? Want any? I have one, and I like it, but I probably won't get any more. What are the three BPALs you would most like to receive - one GC, one not-hard to find LE, and one HTF LE from your dreams Ummm... Let's see. GC-not sure, nothing really comes to mind that I want more of LE- Red Sumatran Patchouli HTF LE-milk chocolate, cassia, and bacon If you knit/crochet, what sizes of needles do you need? none. I use the same hook for everything. Well, not quite, but I do have all the sizes I use. What styles of artwork do you like? I like art! If you cook, would you be interested in-hand made spice mixes/rubs? sure! Would you like mexican vanilla or silver rings/necklaces? Is mexican vanilla good/expensive? Then, no. Mr. Boy would just waste it. I had two bottles of vanilla in the cupboard, a teeny bottle of expensive pure vanilla that was really amazing, and a big giant bottle of cheap extra. He poured all the pure stuff into his glass of coke, to make it taste good and use up the small bottle. There was quite a bit of it left before he had his glass of vanilla coke. No I only buy the cheap kind that comes in a big bottle, he goes through it too fast and thinks it all tastes the same. The Conjure Oils update (http://conjureoils.com/emporium.htm) looks absolutely fabulous...I didn't know she made soaps and candles and whanot. Is there anything from the Oddment Emporium you would like? Sure! Ha ha ha ha! What is your favorite color? Colors are good! What is your favorite season? Christmas! Its the perfect excuse to cover the house with lights and a good thick layer of gaudiness! If you could live anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would it be? I dunno about living anywhere. I think I'd rather travel and come back to this area. Maybe stay somewhere if I found a place that appealed. Look at that! Another non-answer that fills lots of space! Do you have any symbols or totems that are meaningful to you? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! That sounds like feelings! When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? buy glittery nail polish and eat candy until I don't feel good anymore! Would you like if your witch sent a regional pop/soda? If so, what type (Root beer, creme soda, cola, citrus-flavored, chocolate-flavored, etc...)? yum! All flavors! Ninjas or Pirates? pirates! That roam as ninjas at night! Piejas! Rogue pie flingers that disappear when you look for them, only leaving behind the scent of rum! Werewolves or vampires? I hate what sparkles have done to the vampire genre, so I say werewolves. Zombie or Cthulhu? probably Zombie (I'm a fan of the resident evil movies) Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? I want it however you want to give it me! Yay! Do you welcome knitted items? If so, what would you like most? (amigurumi, washcloth, socks, shawl, shawlette, scarf, wrist warmers, hat, etc.) Do you have any favorite fibers? How about any fiber allergies? Favorite color for knitted items? absolutely! 12" squares in acrylic yarn is something I'm collecting for a bpal-made afgan! Otherwise, mittens! I asked everyone for mittens for christmas. Christmas came. no mittens. (Not complaining, I got lots of nice stuff!) If you are mitten inclined...I have large hands. I have to wear the xl plastic gloves-I can squeeze into a large, but its tight. Think big man-hands! amigurumi would be fun-a little monster! Scarves and hats are nice too. I do prefer machine washability for wearable items. And I haven't found a wool blend yet that hasn't given me welts, so no wool please. Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? I'm not really a quotey sort of person, so nothing comes to mind. Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? Starbucks always tastes burnt to me. Mr. Boy really likes thier via thingers though, so if you work there or get a discount, you could send me some and then he'd get a present (which isn't necessary, but he gets whatever I don't want to eat out of my snack boxes and gets a kick out of that). I do like Caribou coffee though, we have that chain here and its delicious! Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? I think skyelyric could help. She's my babble friend! If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? I wouldn't cry over it! Same thing, if my witch chooses not to reveal, I'll be ok! Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? No thank you! I like candles, because they are fire. Yay fires! Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? yes! Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? food is good! Is it food? candy? NOM! I do not like olives or banana flavor (though Mr. Boy enjoys both, so if I got olives or banana something, I would just tell him that he got a present from my witch!). No olive fudge please! I don't think he'd eat that. What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try? Will not look! Feel free to buy me things! I am easy! Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful) I don't know about imagery and such, but I thought Hellhound on My Trail sounded awesome, and I spent quite a bit for a bottle of it on ebay. And its bland/fades instantly on me. Very disappointing. Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! My ipod's screen is broken. I mash buttons and make it play stuff. I can't get it to shuffle right now. I refuse to get a new one until this one doesn't work at all anymore. (Mr. Boy was hinting that he'd buy me a new one, but I said "mine's still good yet!") I'll try to remember to come back to this, when my all the pieces of my computer at home are found, and put together. what is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. I love my toucan can opener! How sad is that? My favorite thing is my can opener?! Egad! I need help! How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? Not really sure yet, we haven't even gotten our furniture in place yet. Probably nothing huge. Maybe 11x14 for the absolute biggest. Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? Sure! Stores are nice! They have things in them! I like things! Is there anything from Australia you would like? eg: snacks (yes, you can ask for Tim Tams!), books, magazines, memorabilia? Yes! All of them! I have quite a few spice jars from girasol left yet, but any candies/snacks, books, magazines and memorabilia are awesome! Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? Fuck no! What style is your sense of humour? I am funny! Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? Games are super-fun! I've found, that I prefer fairly simple ones, that don't take long to play. I could use a copy of Zombie Dice (I got that for my brother for Christmas, and it was really fun). What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? I went ahead and ordered decants from ones I wanted from ralenth! Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling? Not exactly. I know I've felt that, but I can't think of any right now. I used to pretend I was Anne from Anne of Green Gables. What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have? Ummm...there are some on my amazon list... otherwise, I gave away my copy of The Graveyard Book by neil gaiman, I could use a new one-paperback is prefered-its easier to hold while snuggled up in bed. Would you like something from Empire Edibles? (http://www.etsy.com/...s?ref=top_trail) I'm sure I would, with a name that includes Edibles! Food is one of my most favorite things! Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? I like fridge magnets. And we have lots of room for them. They don't have to be from locations. And if they are sassy, that makes them extra good. Swearing on them is ok too, I have several of those! Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc I'd probably only be sad if there was no present at all. Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? Not so much. What fandoms do you belong to? BPAL! What cheers you up? Depends. If I'm really mad, the movie "God Bless America" makes me happy. (And I don't have that on dvd, but could use a copy-currently its available streaming on Netflix.) If I'm sad, watching videos of cows chasing rc cars makes me laugh, so does animals jumping on trampolines, or running and frolicing (frolic-ing? that looks weird...you know what I mean). If really sad, I'll just wallow in it and read/watch things that make me cry. Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by? Like a ghost? I dunno...the state fair? A flea market? Someplace with odd/interesting things to see, and where the stuff changes a lot. Please keep all your ghosties, I don't particularily care for supernatural things that go bump in the night. (I worked at a hardware store that was haunted, not much happened to me, but what did scared the daylights out of me.) What question do you hate to answer? Stuff about feelings, or like the one below. Thinking is hard! What is the best compliment you have/could receive? blaaaaaaarg! I don't know! Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country. Yes! Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! My purse right now, is a re-useable shopping bag, that the size for a bottle of wine and maybe a loaf of italian bread. I'm stylish! Before that, I used a denim tote bag. I've been wanting a plain canvas tote bag for carrying library books, plain so I cover it with all the patches/pins that witches have given me. What's your favourite comfort food(snack or candy etc) and/or drink? Mmmmm! Food! I'd say a nice mac 'n cheese is generally what I'll go for when I am glum or only slightly ill. Also, I like it when I am happy, and not ill at all! (I'll buy the frozen ones that you bake, because they're really good, and then I don't have to make a white sauce. I've been meaning to find a good/easy recipe for a mac.) Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) Mmmm! please! I love recipes and have quite a nice little pile of cookbooks. Generally, I don't do really fussy/time consuming recipes. I like to cook food, and eat it. I do not like fennel, not a big fan of cilantro. Mr. Boy hates melons. (Except mine of course! Hee hee hee!) I'm a fan of desserts too, and I'll occasionally make something a little more fussy there. I cannot make gravy, and I curse whoever came up with the idea of pie crusts. If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? I would nap a lot, watch tons of crap tv, and work on crafting projects. I'm assuming we're talking about having enough money to not have to work? Then we'll add in traveling. Lots of time sitting in quiet, secluded spots. Maybe take up stained glass, or kiln work. or something with torches. Plus, I'd like to blow things up with dynomite. Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? Nothing that I can think of. I'm not really involved in anything. If people are selling something for their group, or a charity, I'll buy it, but I don't really seek them out. What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? Our dishes are rainbow. But not all colors on one dish. Its FiestaWare, with 2 red plates, two orange, ect. I do entertain a bit, but I really have all the party plates/servers that I need, and there isn't enough room to store any more. (Unless you already found me something...then give it to me, I'll make room!) Are your ears pierced? Yes. I have one set of holes that I change earrings in. Then I have 3 holes in the cartilage that I leave hoops in, on one ear. And the other ear has an industrial. Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? Handmade...sure! And in my amazon wishlist, I have my precious little Poppet dollies that I love. Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? I just have Mr. Boy (and he's my husband), he doesn't need any special treats. If I have something to eat, I'll usually share it a bit with him. He doesn't mind not getting presents. Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are Ummm....a bunch of nail polish blogs, sometimes I'll look at Cake Wrecks. How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? We have many coolers. I've tried doing the picnic thing with Mr. Boy, but to him....picnic means buying a couple of sandwiches from the gas station and eating them in a park. So, while it sounds fun, it probably wouldn't get used. If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? Most likely, I'd be the one edging toward the door, trying to get away from them all. They'd likely be too busy playing on thier smart phones to notice me leaving. Not to say everyone with a smart phone is like that, but I see it a lot here. Any chance they can get, they're playing with it. I probably will also be the only one who has never been on Facebook. And I'll smell better and more interesting than them all! YAY! Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?) Sure! Ha ha ha ha! Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure? Yes, Yes, and yes. (Though Mr. Boy can cook a few things.) Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? Both. Though with the YA books, they have to be somewhat well-written ones. (I really liked the Hunger Games ones, Ender's Game, and Harry Potter.) If you could have one rare bpal which one would you choose? Honestly, I can't think of one that I have been wanting really badly. It might be fun to be able to smell some of them at some point, but usually the ones people are clamoring for, are ones I end up not liking so much. (Feel free not to answer, I know it's not a standard one!) Are you kinky? I'm afraid that I'm vanilla. Do you enjoy scented candles? Certain sizes that you like? What kind of scents or brands? Yes! Non-florals are my favorites! Not picky on brands or quality. Really cheap candles end up in the bathroom. Fancy candles are for the rest of the house. (I consider Yankee Candle to be fancy, and the $5 giant jars that you can get at Walmart type stores to be cheap.) Thoughts about South Africa? Have you been here, would you like to go? Would you like to receive anything South African? Sure! I like local stuff, and learning/seeing stuff that comes from another country. I'm particularily fond of tasting new things, new music is excellant, items that tourists normally buy are fun. Ok! I like everything! YAY! Do you like Sockdreams? If so, what styles would you prefer? (You can also link your wishlist.) One that would fit my fat calves and giant feet? I haven't tried Sockdreams! I am festively plump, so they would need to be plus sized ones. Do you need hair accessories? If so, what kind or color? I think I'm ok on them. I have a whole big basket full of them! What is your favorite shade of blue? Blue! Yay! Do you have any kitchen gadgets (a SodaStream, a Kuerig/Tassimo) that you want mix things for? I have an ice cream maker. I think they make mixes for that! If you were to start learning something new (intellectual or craft or hobby), what would it be? how to pack things so I could find them later? (I'm having issues finding things I NEED right now.) Ummmm....I think my brain may be full right now, because I can't really think of anything new I would like to do. I would like to pick up some of the things that I left behind again, and I will do that once I finish unpacking. What about candy? Do you have a sweet tooth? GIMMMMMEEEEEEEE!!!!! Do you have an e-reader? What kind? Would you like to get ebooks? Nope. I like paper! If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please dont hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send! Wool (even the really nice blended stuff) gives me hives if I wear it or snuggle with it. Please no licorice flavors. Everything else is good! Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I do, I think I have all the ones I want to play. I have a Wii, and mostly I play the sports or sports resort, or a lego game. I think I have all the lego game ones that are made for the wii. Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. ) I read for a bit before sleeping, with a little flashlight! Do you wear nailpolish? What colors do you tend to go for? What are your favorite brands? Are you open to trying indie brands? Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Name three BPAL scents you hav tried, but are dying to get more of. Tricksy bath oil, more Tricksy bath oil, and all the Tricksy bath oil! Ha ha ha! Ummm...if you could scrounge up a bit more of the bacon, chocolate and cassia, that would be nice. Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love? No, I'm a dud! I use little notecards for in swap packages, but that's about it! Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? Mmmmm! Tarty's stuff is awesome! I have not tried any of her cold process soaps, and her scrubbies are my favorite scrubbies! (I have lots of scrubbies and soaps right now, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't squee over more!) Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? I do! So far, we grow a yard full of clovers and weeds instead of grass. There is one lilly looking thing that I'm waiting for it to bloom. It should open soon. We're not really going to do anything to the yard this summer. We have a few things we have to do on the house, so I'm not really in a position to get seeds/plants yet. Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth. Sure do! I get Birchbox to get more samples! Tiny things are fun. I can pretend I'm a giant! Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? I have not, I would like some products or scents! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! I am easy! Do you use solid soaps at all? If so, what kind do or don't you like? I do! I have a bunch of solid soaps, but I never turn down more! I like the kinds that clean my dirty hands or body! Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you? Sure! But I am not looking, and you can't make me! I'm pretty easy to please...I'm really excited to get stuff in the mail, and I'm generally not a picky person at all! Do you like Lush? If so, what is your favorite product that is currently available, also, what is a product that you love but has been discontinued? Lush's products are nice, but the seem overpriced to me. I can get things just as nice for cheaper off of etsy or other stores. Anyone a fan of Shiro Cosmetics? Any particular products? Eye shadow pigments in general? I don't think I have any of their stuff yet, I like products and eye shadow pigments! Are there any companies, products, or items you boycott? Red Lobster, but that's a service issue at one we went to. I'll probably go back there after a few years, but I'm punishing them right now. As I am in Japan, what sort of things would you like from there? I am intrigued by the talk of interesting flavored kitkats! Also, gummy candies that are tasty! Please keep all your dried fish snacks, and I'm not that fond of the little dried bugs and squids. Since FB and the FB Gusp group (and the BPAL Sorority which is quiet) have become gathering places...what are some of your favorite Facebook pages you like? I do not have FB, and you can't make me! Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? me! I am the bestest! If you were a Disney princess you would be?: Disney princess's suck! I distinctly remember hating Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. She was so bland and not really even a person. I was pissed when the dragon-fairy got killed. I really wanted her to win. So, I like Maleficent, she was my first example of a strong woman who knew what she wanted and kicked ass in her attempt to do so. If only she had chosen her helpers more wisely. (If you insist on me picking a princess, I'd have to guess Belle, I like books.) Would you like a seashell from Florida? If I got one, I would most likely throw it in a fish tank. (I'd boil it first, and then file off any sharp points.) But don't feel like you have to send one! I'm good either way! What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And that craft goodies would be welcome? My craft project docket, is more of a mountain. I have started projects, almost finished ones, supplies for ones I might started. And even piles of stuff that's done but just needs the finishing things done to them. I have a bit of crafting add. There a few projects I want to do for this round of witching. So, craft goodies that would be welcome...just about anything! Ha ha ha! Scrap-booking stuff-papers, hole punches, fun scissors, stamps, ink pads, and of that sort of stuff. Yarns! All sorts, I am not particular with what I use. Pretty beads/rocks for jewelry. Random bits of stuff, that I can use on other things! Honestly, with the exception of a knitting needle, I can probably find a use for any supply! Dr Who? Not really a fan. Unless you have a real Sonic Screwdriver that works like the one in the show. Then I want that! How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors? I always have one or two in my pocket. Flavored! I have quite a pile of them that aren't in my pocket, but I would still squee over new ones. Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours? Yes. I'm more about the texture though. If its a sticky one, I won't wear it. I'm a a fan of the tinted lip balms too. I really love the Clinque chubby sticks, and that sort of stuff. Generally, not-dark colors will be used more than dark ones. For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? Sure! I have a few Solstice Scents that I like, and a couple of Villainess. So, I'm up for other companies. I usually don't hunt them down, but I've really like all the ones previous witches gifted me. Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? I love Adagio! I have many, many of thier teas. So, I would say, I would be more likely to use the tea bag varity right now, I have more looseleaf than I'll get to for a while. And I only use bags at work. I have a nice big selection of their chais in bag forms. I like flavored stuff. Fruit flavors in green teas would be fun-I don't have any of them. Ok...so anything except for really floral things. I'm not a fan of jasmines, and don't care much for licorice if its the main flavor. (I had a Lavendar Earl Grey that was really tasty, so I don't necessarily have a blanket ban on stuff with some florals.) I'm all out of vanilla flavored teas. (And, relatedly) What about coffee? Would you like to get coffee send to you? Whole bean or ground? What are some varieties and/or flavors you enjoy? Sure! We can use both whole or ground beans. No preference. Varieties and flavors are nice! (We don't care for Starbucks coffee beans though, they always have a burnt taste to them.) Mr. Boy also enjoys instant coffee too, so if you've got a packet of it floating around, he'd be happy to drink it for you. Not asked yet, but I forgot it on my questionairre: Nailpolish Give them to me! yay! I will give a good home to them, even half used up ones and ones that you didn't like. I like them all! If I'm buying them, I try to keep to the less smelly ones. I'm a big fan of the new textured ones. I don't have any of the China Glaze Textures or any of the Zoya Pixie dust. I have a pretty decent selection of the OPI Textures. I could also use more topcoat (I'm not picky on the brand), and more of the Qtica quick dry drops.

The Feast For The Greatly Revered Ones

This was the very first bottle purchase I made, I hadn't known about decant circles, and this sounded so nice to me that I had to try it. Looking at the scent notes now, after learning what does and doesn't work for me, I probably wouldn't even try this one, but its one of those miracle scents. (And one of only a few chocolatey scents that don't turn rancid with my skin chemisty!) Dry down, I get a warm, sweet, almost heavy scent. It doesn't have a lot of throw, just snuggles in close to me. I can't really tell which notes are coming out to play much, I think most of the sweetness is coming from the wine, but its not a boozy scent. Its aged beautifully, and I'm really glad I bought a bottle when it was released.
