Cali Report post Posted January 14, 2023 Subtle pumpkin, lotsa spices! I swear there's apple in here. ...This is honestly very similar on me as to what bobbing for apples was. But far spicier! But, this does have a home-candle quality to it that i can't quite place. Is there wax in here? Maybe that's what the sandalwood does on me. Anyway, sad about that, it's a faux-smelling kinda foodie on me, this has great potential for somebody else though! :')
jensdays Report post Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) Just tested this one today, it's been sitting for a week after being shipped from the lab. In the bottle it was almost entirely pumpkin, as well as when it hit my skin. Within just a couple minutes though, the sandalwood is right there, making the pumpkin more subtle, a little drier, and taking over that burst of fresh pumpkin flesh. 15-20 minutes in, cinnamon shows up in a big way. I wasn’t expecting it, there’s nothing about pumpkin spice in the description. It’s the dominant note for a good hour, before it starts settling back down, but it’s still stronger than I’d like. The pumpkin is stronger than the sandalwood, which is nice, and it’s a good pumpkin, I just wish the cinnamon wasn’t there. *Decent staying power, lasted a few hours, not much throw. I'd give it a 3/5, mainly because of that cinnamon. *My skin eats everything, so 4 hours is a long time on me. Edited March 20, 2023 by jensdays
zankoku_zen Report post Posted April 5, 2023 2022 Fresh pumpkin, whiff of spice, and a touch of sandalwood. Medium throw and wear length.
alterosen Report post Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) I bought a bottle unsniffed as I was so sure this would be great on me since I love sandalwood & pumpkin (with or without spice) but my skin turned this into wet paint, dank & industrial. (2021 version) I was too afraid to try the 2022 one but perhaps I should as it seems to be different. Edited July 13, 2024 by alterosen
Teamama Report post Posted October 17, 2024 I got my bottle through a forum purchase. I think it's the 2021 release. There's spice, maybe some coffee? The sandalwood & pumpkin are too quiet to pick out.
SmellsPrettyGood2Me Report post Posted May 20 "Something wicked this way comes" is exactly how I feel when putting this on. Aged a few years, it seems like a hint of clove has pushed it's way front and center in the spice profile, to magical effect. Quite possibly the most perfect autumnal BPAL I've tried so far. This is a fall day spent giving hayrides and serving pie to the grandchildren, before shuffling them off to a sun soaked sandalwood slumber.
RoseThornAndOak Report post Posted September 2 2022 version: This year is a cozy, spiced, Autumn sandalwood with a bit of skin musk. This is the type of sandalwood that goes dry, yet sweet. I get less wine notes than 2021, but both years are nice. Beautiful.
patina Report post Posted Thursday at 09:47 PM 2015: I could see this as an expensive candle or room scent with a name like “white pumpkin.” It reminds me of a really good pumpkin spice latte mix I got once, (though unlike the Pumpkin Spice Latte scent from years ago I tried, this is way lighter on cinnamon and nutmeg.) The sandalwood is keeping it balanced: a candle like this would probably go too far into vanilla cream sugar territory, but the foody sweetness is held back here. It is in fact basic, but like vanilla it seems to be something that would blend into all situations and be popular for good reason.
Pris Report post Posted 4 hours ago 2025 version Wet: goes on buttery pumpkin flesh. Nice at first but on me the sweet vanilla takes over and is louder than I like. Definitely will try it again after it's aged a while.
