doomsday_disco Report post Posted December 1, 2025 The perfume of French Quarter mornings: rich chicory coffee, earthy and bittersweet, drifting through the powdered-sugar clouds of warm beignets dusted to luminosity.
Numanoid Report post Posted January 7 Sniffing in the decant ( not sure if it is just me, but always harder to get a good whiff in a decant as opposed to the bottle) I detect the pastry, but the coffee note is real faint. Thought it would be stronger being chicory. Stays close to the skin and is very nice. I get mostly sugared beignets with a drop of coffee. It is very nice and mild. I was hoping for more oomph, but this is for you if you like softer foodie scents.
doomsday_disco Report post Posted January 12 Full disclosure: I have never had chicory coffee and have no idea what it smells like. However, I had to get a decant of this because of the beignet note. Yes, I love beignets, but I also love Pralines and Powdered Sugar's beignet note and regret destashing my back-up bottle (never doing that again -- back-ups are bought for a reason!). Well, this doesn't smell like the beignet dust from Pralines and Powdered Sugar at all, BUT it is still made of win. Oddly enough, what I mainly get from this is a toasted sugar and animal cracker sort of scent. I got that from my initial test (which also had some spice to it) and my full-day slather of the scent (which I didn't get any cinnamon from and was all about a toasted sugar and Barnum's animal crackers). I could not resist swooning whenever I got a whiff of this. It has great throw on me and kept making me hungry because it smells so delicious. The coffee itself is pretty light, though -- so those going into this mainly for the chicory coffee note may end up being disappointed that it's not the main player. But as for me? I'm going to need a bottle.
VioletChaos Report post Posted 18 hours ago In the bottle: I was expecting mostly coffee, but actually, I'm not getting any. In fact, NONE of the listed notes are present! Mostly I'm getting a fluffy cloud of...sweet cream? 😯 Don't get me wrong, I've no objections, cause it smells awesome. But I'm suuuuuper confused! Wet On Skin, the scent starts to bloom as it warms and now I'm getting the uncanny animal crackers-thing that doomsday mentioned! Not the lemony part of those crackers, but the rest. It's a bit odd, but I'm intrigued. Once full drydown is reached, I get the chicory coming on kinda strong. It reads as vaguely cinnamon-y, which could be a plus for this of you that can't wear actual cinnamon- this could be your work around! On me, the scent is largely a light snickerdoodle scent. I really miss NOLA, so I was hoping it would show up as intended on me, so while this is a perfectly nice winter time baked goods scent, I do wish it had the coffee and beignets in the mix. 😢 I DO have the Guatemalan Coffee Bean single note, and I shall try layering that with this- maybe it just needs a little help to pull it all together for my chemistry
frizzlechicken Report post Posted 13 hours ago It's perfect, it's beautiful, it smells like Linda Evangelista... In all seriousness, to me and when applied, this smells exactly like sitting in Cafe du Monde with a huge plate of warm beignets and a cup of hot chicory coffee. I love it.
