Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.?

I feel like I answered this before... But sure, cleaning solutions would be good.

If you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.?

I knit a *lot* but I also have a lot of yarn. If you find some fabulous sock yarn I certainly wouldn't be opposed, though!

What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual?

I usually take a couple of Excedrin, drink a lot of water, and go back to bed for a bit. It usually works.

Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile?

I like the sound of my kitties purr-snoring. So cute!

When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both?

When I send packages I don't usually individually wrap because I don't like the wasted paper, even though it is fun to unwrap gifts. Also cuz I'm lazy. So witch, if you really love to wrap things then go for it. If you don't then it's fine with me if you just throw them (gently) into a (well-packed) box.

Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT.

I think I mentioned this in my questionnaire, but I have a lot of empty blank books, so I don't need more unless they're really special. Same with bath products, though I always make an exception for Lush or some etailer I haven't tried (which is all of them).

But I think I didn't mention monkeys. I don't like them. I don't think they're cute. They kind of creep me out. Please no monkey toys / pictures of monkeys / etc. Clowns too!

What BPAL scent have you never tried but always wanted to? What scent have you tried and LOVED, and haven't been able to get more of and why?

I've always wanted to try Fee, cuz it just sounds interesting but nearly impossible to get. I've been fairly lucky in finding bits more of things I love, but I also haven't tried anything *that* rare. But if you find me some Succubus I will be so happy! I only have one bottle and haven't found more since it got discontinued.

I know we're all scent sensitive here. What are your favorite non-perfume smells? Day in the life stuff?

I like the smell of rain on the sidewalks. Also citrus fruits.

Coffee drinkers, what types of beans to you like? Kona, Sumatra, Kenya..etc. How do you like them roasted? Do you like flavors, such as hazelnut, vanilla, etc. in your coffee?

    I don't really drink coffee.

Who has a birthday falling in this round?

    Not I!

For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies?

Fruit, nuts, or chilies would all be fun. But no bacon!

Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/etc. that still hold a really special place in your heart?

I had this board game called Catfish Bend. I loved it but most of the pieces had gone missing, but then I lucked out and found a brand new (well, late 70s / early 80s new) still wrapped one on eBay. Woohoo!

If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients?

I am awful at this type of question! If I didn't have to wear it, I think a nice rainy-smelling woodsy kind of scent for Seattle would be good. But if it was for me I suppose I could go more foodie with scents of Pike Place Market like coffee, roasting nuts, and those delicious little vegan donuts. But not the flying fish, I don't want to smell like dead fish.

Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like?

I have never worked out how the roller bottle is supposed to work... but maybe if it came with instructions on how to fill it!

    9/24/10
Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be?

    Maybe an anthropomorphic star?

Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass?

I'd take a mug or t-shirt! In fact, I once got PIFed a Starbucks mug from Indianapolis and I use it all the time. I even got a Seattle one to match. The ones with the blue line drawings of the city - I certainly wouldn't mind another city!

Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness?

Thankfully I don't know what this is and I don't think I'll go look. The BPAL is enough!

    Venomous Villains?

Also not sure what this is.

    Last Unicorn?

I think I have heard this is a book? Not sure what the question was, though.

Who is your fav Disney Villain/villainess? How about hero/heroine? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though)

I loved Maleficent as a kid, I wanted to be her for Halloween but I never did. I don't know that I particularly loved any of the heroines, although I liked the Little Mermaid because of the shared name.

    9/23/10
Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment?
Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind?

    Nope

    What's your favorite Halloween Music?

I usually listen to Type O Negative's "October Rust" album as soon as it turns to October - so Friday! And then I have a playlist with all of my Halloweenie songs with things like ghosts, monsters, etc in the title.

    9/22/10
Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list?

    No

Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update?

I try to stay away from things other than BPAL, it's just overwhelming. If there's something my witch thinks I would love I'd certainly try it, but I probably won't go look.

What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes?

I really need some sneakers. I used to wear Adidas Sambas, but decided not to buy shoes with leather anymore and my new vegan sneaks aren't quite as comfy. (Probably because they're not old!) I'm not sure what I will do about this situation.

Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books?

    No, not really.

Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags?

Hmm... do you mean like a coffin handbag or something? Heels with spiders? I like them in theory but I don't really use heels or handbags much.

What song is on heavy rotation for you right now?

I actually try to avoid having songs on heavy rotation with an ingenious group of iTunes playlists, but if pressed I'll say In The White by Katatonia.

Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays?

I don't even know about them, and that's ok with me!

If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it?

Probably wall art of a night sky or stars - I collect original art and I have a few pieces from friends and a couple other forum members.

Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing?

    That sounds very interesting!

If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW.

I got boxes to store my imps and bottles and a scent locked from syrenemyst which was fab as I didn't have any of those at the time. I've had witches send me handmade caramels (yum, but sadly I can't eat them anymore) and I really appreciated the bunch of GC imps a witch sent me once because it has given me lots to try - I haven't finished yet, even! But really I've gotten lots of great gifts! Handmade jewelry and stitch markers... the list goes on and on.

    9/21/10
Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.?

I do like garlic, but maybe not that much.

Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies?

I am ambivalent about them, though I do like Plants vs. Zombies and have it on my phone.

    9/20/10
If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update?

    Once again, I haven't looked.

How many bottles of BPAL do you have?

Hmm... probably about 40? A small box and a bit of overflow.

Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect?

    Not really.

    Anyone else into Emily Autumn?

    I don't know her.

What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share.

I'll have to get back to this one in the thread.

do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind?

My favorites are Samoas, but I also like Thin Mints and Trefoils, and the lemon creme ones that they used to have but I think they're gone now.

What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some?

    Sure, I'd take some!

    9/19/10
Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it?

Not very much. I do like Neil Gaiman and have read a lot of his stuff. I don't need any gifts related to it.

Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try?

I don't usually use bar soap other than in my bathroom as hand soap, so I haven't done a lot of looking.

I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar?

I don't draw, but I do write letters and I would love nice / interesting pens for that.

For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.?

Stitch markers are always great! I like ones with thin and small rings since I'm usually knitting socks. The ones with an earring closure that you can clip to stitches and move around are very helpful as well.

Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular?

    I don't.

Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form?

I don't burn incense, it makes me cough and sneeze.

Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you?

    Nope, can't think of any.

    9/18/10
Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind?

I don't really "do" my hair, I just wear it down or in a ponytail most of the time. It doesn't like to "do" anything it doesn't want, and I'm too lazy to make it.

Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense?

I don't have any children around so small pieces and such are fine, but I'm also a bit of a prude so "child safe" in the nudity / X-rated sense is good.

In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats?

Wrist / hand warmers, neck warmers, or slippers would be appreciated - especially if the slippers weren't slippery and could be used on hard floors. I already have quite a few hats, but wouldn't mind more.

How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories?

    Fine by me!

Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update?

    I haven't looked.

What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...)

I love the weather here in Seattle. It's very temperate and there are lots of trees and water around to look at. Nice and pretty. Boston was too extreme climate-wise for my taste. I don't think I'd want to travel somewhere really tropical because I'm usually hot, but maybe in the off season when it's cooler.

What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items?

I have forever wanted to weave a scarf with my leftover bits of sock yarn. I don't have a loom, so I've thought about taking a class, but it just hasn't happened yet.

Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist?

    Nope.

Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too?

    I haven't looked.

    Anyone need address/phone type books?

No, I just got a cute one not too long ago.

Which web comics do you enjoy?

I usually read xkcd, but that's about it. I read Diesel Sweeties for a while too... Metal Steve is my boyfriend.

Would you like a box filled with Christmas/Yule treats?

No thanks, I'm not really big on Christmas. But if they're edible, I don't care what holiday they represent!

Darling Witchee, are you in on this NaNoWriMo craziness? Would you like motivational pings/writing instruments/lovely blank books in which to pen your masterpiece

    No NaNoWriMo for me!

    10/29/10
Did you know BPAL is on etsy with leftover trunk show bottles? Would you like any of them?

I didn't know, but then I looked and they didn't look like anything I really "needed" plus I'm sure they're gone now.

    10/28/10
Would you prefer to have your final package before Halloween or have a reveal package at the end of the round?

I'd like more witchiness til the end of the round - it doesn't need to be more stuff, as my witch has sent me plenty, but I want to save the reveal for close to the end if that's ok with my witch.

Do you prefer lip balm in a tube or tin?

Tube, I hate getting it under my nails. But I have a lip brush for must-haves that are in tins.

    10/21/10
What are you most interested in from the Yule update?

I dunno, I am so bad at checking these things. I think I need to go back to Knows Perfume and sniff if they still have the stuff.

    10/20/10
If you were my witchee, would you want to receive Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, or wouldn't that be your cup of classics?

    I don't know, maybe...

Would you like some homemade snack mix?

Sure, as long as it's vegetarian friendly!

Knitterly Witchees, would you like a yarn bowl?

I usually knit on the go, and a yarn bowl might not be a good idea with the cats. They are lovely, though!

    10/18/10
So....let's say that you're my witchee, and you have an affinity for widgets. Let's also pretend that I sent you one of these widgets, but in a form that has a very special personal significance to me. Would you find that to be touching (in a "Yay, now I'll always use this and think of my witch!" way) or tacky (in a "My witch is making this all about her!" way)?

I think it would be great.

Have you had a chance to try Halloweenies? If so, which ones are you really really in love with this year?

I haven't tried any, but some of the more foodie ones (especially Ginger Skulls) sound fun.

Pocket shrines! Would you like one, made for a particular obsession of yours?

Maybe... the example posted in the thread looked cute.

    10/14/10
Do you prefer scented or unscented lotions/moisturizers?

I prefer scented. I usually use lotions at night and BPAL in the morning, so they don't often conflict.

    10/13/10
Today I got one of the Starbucks Halloween Bearista Bears - it's dressed like a werewolf! Is this something witchees might like?

Hey, it's my question! I already have one!

Are you interested in Halloween costumes for your pet(s)?

As fun as I would find it, I have a feeling the cats wouldn't put up with it at all. So no, unless it's a festive collar.

    10/12/10
Would you want your witch to reveal his/herself? How?

I would love to know who my fabulous witch is at the end of the round.

    10/9/10
I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both?

I'd love to try either if you think I might like them.

    10/01/10
So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent?

Yes, all the above. I don't have a *huge* love for them, but I do like them quite.

    Haunt Update?

    I know nothing about Haunt.

    9/30/10
Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it?

I already used my witch's GC to order from Villainess, but that's ok, I think I shall try the ones I have before getting more.

how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc?

I would love a lunch bag! I'm trying to bring my lunch more regularly to save money and eat healthy, and currently it's just in a drawstring ripstop nylon knitting bag. A "real" lunch bag would be fun.

Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you?

Some of my favorites are neroli / mimosa / orange blossom, other fruity notes, almond, spicy notes, etc. I don't really have a top 10, I just noticed that many of the things I like have those notes. Tea is good too, I love Dorian! In terms of categories, I generally flavor foody and fruity - definitely not floral or aquatic or woody. Some musk is ok (like Snake Oil) but I like it sweet.

Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general?

Sure! I have some sugar skull shoes that are pretty cute, but not very seasonally appropriate so I wear them mostly during the summer.

    9/29/10
Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivalent of a security blankie?

No, not really. I do like Zarita, but that's more for association reasons.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

    I don't know, now I'm getting stressed!

Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD?

    No, not really.
  6. stariel
Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples?

Sure, though I'll probably just jump TwilightEyes and steal them since she's local. If you can persuade her to present me with one, that would be great!

If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivities/allergies to any materials?

I love blues and blue-purples, grey and black are also good along with some greens. As for materials, I don't wear silk or any "kill fibers" like possum. I prefer natural fibers, but I'm fine with blends that contain synthetic (like wool / nylon). Wool, alpaca, bamboo, angora, tencel, cotton, cashmere, etc. and blends are fine!

    Gift Certificate: physical or email?

Either is fine by me, if it's online then email is probably the most convenient.

Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents?

I do like scented candles, but I've never really gone for Yankee Candles. They're often too strong and just not my type of scent. I'm a fan of citrus scents and tropical fruits (like coconut or mango) as well as spicy (cinnamon, clove) things. Candles that smell like baked goods are always appreciated.

would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal?

    No thanks.

And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes?

Amusing, but I probably wouldn't wear them.

What places to do you visit that you'd like a gift card to? Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, B&N, a favorite restaurant or clothing shop?

I do occasionally go to Starbucks, so that wouldn't be bad. I'd love to try some of the online B&B things everyone talks about like Vilianess, and there's always Sock Dreams... I love yarn, so GCs to yarn stores would be lovely. My favorite local one is The Fiber Gallery, and while they don't do online GCs, they know me very well (I used to work there) and I'm sure they'd hold on to a GC for me if my witch wanted to buy one and let me know. I do shop at Target sometimes too, but I usually buy more practical stuff there, so I'd just as well spend my own money.

    Cake or Frosting?

Definitely cake, I'm not a big fan of frosting.

What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child?

My parents did a pretty good job of keeping me away from scary movies, but I did see part of an episode of Murder She Wrote once that had this woman who was afraid of the color red and that freaked me out. Plus, I still hate red!

Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one

ravelry, Google Reader to read blogs, Molehill Empire to play a silly gardening game

Do you like the Muppets? Which is your favorite?

They're ok, I'm not a huge fan but I like them well enough. I do like Animal.

If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be?

Hmm... A pegasus unicorn? And I could ride it and it would fly around? That would be awesome!

    Comfort Rereads?:

    The Giver, Harry Potter

Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch?

I won't be gone for more than a day or two as far as I know. In general I'd love it if my witch would tell me when to start looking for a package - often it will get delivered to the apartment manager since I'm not home during the day and I need to know if I should go bug her. (She's very good about giving me my packages, but a lot of times I don't get home til late.)

If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?)

I'm not in school, but my work in genetics requires a lot of learning and I think it's interesting! I'd also love to learn to sew and weave, because obviously I don't have enough fiber-related hobbies already.

What animal would your daemon be? Alternately, your patronus.

I think my daemon would be a cat, but I didn't take the quiz. I would like my patronus to be a Dementor because that would just be funny.

    What's YOUR favorite word?

In Norwegian it's syltetøy - it means jam but I think it sounds like a superhero. I'm not sure what my favorite English word is...

Steampunk, yay or nay? If yay, what part appeals most?

    I'm not really into it.

Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you?

I love 5-pointed stars, but I wouldn't really call them "meaningful" so much as just pretty.

Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff?

Yes, all of the above! Bottles would be awesome as would imps. I guess I don't really need a box for other stuff, I have quite a few little ones that aren't big enough for BPAL.

If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be?

    I dunno... a mermaid?

If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why?

Hmm... off the top of my head, I'd like to go back to Seattle around when grunge music started, but at my current age. I was actually here at the time, but not old enough to know about it. Since I still like a lot of the music (and other music from the same point in time) it would be really great to see some of the bands before they broke up / members died / etc.

    Favorite Halloween Candy/Treat?

Just minis of normal candy (Almond Joy, Snickers, Kit Kats), I guess. Reese's Pumpkins are good!

What are your favorite baked goods/homemade treats?

I love cookies, especially soft ones like molasses ginger and chocolate chip and snickerdoodles... but when I bake cookies I usually eat more of the dough.

Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart?

    No thanks.

    Socks? Sock Dreams? Anyone?

I knit tons of socks, so I wear handknit socks most of the winter. But I do like novelty cotton socks - especially Halloween themed or ones with stars. On a slightly different note, I would love any witch who sent me Halloween themed underwear!

What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain?

I'll usually sit down with my knitting and a movie and a cup of hot chocolate or tea. Reading is also good, but only if I'm reading something light / happy.

    Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books

I love Nightmare Before Christmas and I have it and Sleepy Hollow on DVD. I don't watch really scary Halloween movies. Actually, I should clarify... I like psychological thriller type scary movies (Seven, Silence of the Lambs) but not gory stuff. I read The Graveyard Book when it first came out and adored it, but sadly most of the BPAL scents had too much dirt for me.

COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try?

No, not really. I have a few of the Serenity ones that I got as a gift but that's about it.

    Warm drinks?

Yes! I like hot chocolate, tea, and cider. Plus if my witch happens to live near an Asian market that sells 3:15pm Coffee Milk Tea, I would adore some! There is a place sort of close to me that has it, so no need to go to great lengths.

When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you?

This is kind of a hard question. In general I really like the blue/purple color family, so if we're talking about a very similar item but in a totally different color than probably not. If it's similar both in item and color than probably so! Often with the types of items I favorite, the shops will have the same item again (maybe not exactly, but very close) and in that case then it's awesome! I'll try to keep my etsy wishlist up to date.

    Do you wear make up?

No, though I do wear clear or lightly tinted lip gloss.

Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them?

They're ok. I like some of the really old ones, or at least I did when I was a kid, like Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid. I also really like some of the collaborations with Pixar, and Nightmare Before Christmas.

Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three?

I have a VCR and a DVD player.

Would you like custom icons as a gift?

    Uh... sure!

What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time?

I'm actually not that much of a snacker, but I do like kettle corn.

    Ebooks

I don't have a reader, though I occasionally read on on my iPhone. Generally audiobooks or regular books are a better bet.

    Nail Polish:

I very rarely paint my nails... probably not even in the past year.

    Soft/plushy things:

Only if they're really special. If it's handmade or something "perfect" for me then by all means, I do adore the stuffies. But I have a lot already too.

What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do?

Weave! Also sew. Also I have dreams of learning to do photography and develop my own B&W film.

For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones?:

I like cute ones, though cute interpretations of creepy (like cute skulls, cute spiders) are good too. And I leave Halloween stuff around all year!

Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed (by yours truly!) ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock?

Sure! Napkin rings are probably a no-go since I don't actually use them or have people over to dinner. But oil burners or just a little sculpture thingie or a candle / votive holder would be great!

how do you feel about mortars and pestles

I don't really have any feelings about them.

Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package?

I really don't like clowns or things that look like meat / dead animals (like those plastic chickens with all the feathers plucked off). But bugs / snakes / spiders and most of the "normal" phobia things are fine!
  7. stariel
What is one REALLY expensive, completely outrageous thing you would LOVE to get but totally don't expect to ever get from anyone?

An antique (or new, new is fine!) circular sock knitting machine. Like these. I've been rather obsessed with them for a while now, but I can't bring myself to drop upwards of $1000 on one since - as my friends say - "But you *are* a sock knitting machine!"

Do you like coffee mugs? Travel or stay at home? How big? Do you like ones from Starbucks?

I do like mugs. I have quite a few travel ones, and actually I rarely travel with beverages. As for home mugs, I have a favorite mug with dragonflies on it that is one of the tall variety that tapers towards the bottom and I'd love another one in that size/shape. Probably 16oz or so. Starbucks has one that's like a cup (the green + white, not the Christmas one) that has the little rectangles on the side to write in your drink order... I think that's cute.

If you drink coffee, do you like whole bean coffee or prefer ground? What grind? What roast (mild, medium, bold, extra bold)? Do you like flavored coffee?

I don't drink coffee at home.

Do you like tea? What kinds of tea (green, red, white, black, decaf, herbal infusions)? Feel free to get specific on brands and tea types. Loose or bagged? Do you need any kind of tea accessories? Pots/cozys/presses/strainers?

I love tea! Loose or bagged is fine, I have a cute little mesh strainer. My favorite is chai - I like trying all types and I have a small collection. I'm not a huge fan of plain black tea, and I really don't like Earl Grey, but black flavored teas are pretty good. I have ginger peach, ginger pear, and vanilla ones that are all good. I'm also a fan of herbal tea - mint is a favorite.

What is your favorite hot chocolate or drinking chocolate? Do you need Vegan or no?

I don't really have a favorite, but I'm a big fan of peppermint hot chocolate. I'm not vegan, but I am vegetarian so marshmallows are usually a no-go. Also I can't eat most artificial sweeteners so stuff with sugar is most appreciated.

Do you need any decanting supplies? Pipettes? Vials? How about any wand caps? Roller bottles? Some spray bottles (for oils mixed with alcohol?)

I'd love wand caps (I only have one) or roller bottles (I have none). I haven't ever mixed oils with alcohol, but it sounds interesting. Probably not happening soon though. And a few vials and pipettes would be appreciated, I might like to make travel sizes of my fave bottles. I'm a newbie to this stuff.

I wanted to ask a question: are there any rare (or even uber-rare) scents that you'd really like to try?

I'm actually not sure what exactly is rare, although I am interested in trying Snow White and Sugar Skull, which I think are on the rare side. In general I'm just interested in trying pretty much anything - so far my BPAL experience has been fairly limited.

Does your forum name have a special significance? Refer to something or someone you admire? Reflect your interests? Come on, spill!

I've been obsessed with stars for a long time, and in high school I was lamenting my lack of a nickname. A girl I knew made up stariel since it combines "star" and "Ariel", which is my name. I guess you could say it stuck since now my mom even calls me Stariel occasionally!

    What's your favorite texture?

I don't know that I have a favorite texture, although soft and fuzzy is always nice.

What's one luxury item you want to pamper yourself with but haven't yet?

I can't really think of anything. Oh, Malabrigo sock yarn, but I don't know that I'd be able to resist buying some if I saw it.

Do you prefer arm warmers to the wrist, to the base of the fingers, or half fingered?

I don't really wear armwarmers, but if I did I think I'd like them to have a little thumb hole and go to the base of the fingers.

Any favorite cartoon characters? Disney, Sanrio, etc?

Well, Ariel from The Little Mermaid is sort of a default favorite since we share the same name, people give me stuff sometimes... bookmarks and such. As a kid Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty was my favorite.

Have you (or maybe the younguns in your family) been exposed to the Webkinz craze?

    Nope!

    Who's your favorite playwright?

I don't know that I have one. I do like plays, though.

Anyone into physical activities? ...is there anything you do as a sport/hobby in which you might need equipment?

    Nothing that needs equipment.

Are there any witchy type supplies you're in need of, or would like to try etc.? Herbs, smudge sticks, resins, tarot/oracle cards, incense burners, pretty tools, stuff like that?

    Nope!

On nut intolerance - does it include things like almond/coconut oil bases and essential oils in perfume oils, skincare products, scented candles and the like? N/A - I love nuts

If you are a fan, who were your favorite Buffy and Angel characters?

I am a fan, but that's a hard question! I think I am most like Willow, or perhaps Fred. But my favorites have to be Angel and Spike - a tie.

Do you like Shakespeare? Which plays?

I do, I've read quite a few of them and enjoyed it, but I'd have to say A Midsummer Night's Dream is probably my favorite.

Question for the Class: Favorite Musical?

I don't have one of those either.

    10/7/10
Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting?

    I don't think so...

    10/5/10
Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular?

Sure, if they're something you think I would like!

would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush?

Sure, I love LUSH stuff! But I have one close by, so if it's hard for you to get then don't bother.

Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be?

I haven't looked. I'm trying to avoid falling in love with very limited editions.

If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be?

    #3

If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form?

    Nope, fine by me.

    10/4/10
Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation?

Definitely sock, as that's what I knit most of. Worsted is good in blues and purples for my ongoing fabulous blanket project. Handspun is great on that one too!

Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.?

No, I don't really have any place to put a wreath.

Do any witchees need a Snuggie?

    No thanks!
  9. stariel
So here goes with the questions...

Question for future witchee: Would you like to receive ATCs or would you prefer something more usable, like bookmarks or something?

Either is fine, I never manage to use bookmarks anyway, it's old receipts all the way.

Everyone who wants a beaded potholder, please to be raising the hands!

I also wonder about the utility of beaded potholders, but why not?

Since we're talking about warm winter wearables, who likes hats? Mittens? Arm warmers?

Being a knitter I have quite the collection, though now that I've moved to a warmer climate I don't know how often I'm going to use them. But I only have one pair of mittens, I could use more of those.

Who would like a pair of handknit socks? Size? Color preference? Cabled, ribbed (for your pleasure), stranded colorwork, etc.?

I have *tons* of handknit socks since it's about all I knit, but I never say no to more. I wear a size 6ish shoe (I usually make the finished foot 9" including the toe). Blue! Love cables, ribs, and lace. Colorwork is one thing I don't currently have in my socks!

If your witch were to send you cookies, what kind of cookies would you like?

Oooo, any kind of cookie. Molasses... butterscotch chip... biscottti. Now I'm going to have to go make cookies.

Who likes tshirts? What about homemade tshirts? Like with transfers I made myself....

I like t-shirts! I've even made a few stenciled ones myself.

Another question! How does everyone feel about steampunk? (It's my new obsession, so I thought I'd ask.)

I don't think I quite "get" what steampunk is, but I think the steampunked keyboards are pretty nifty.

So, question all- how do people feel about unusual ornaments? As in, for holidays other than Christmas?

I don't really use ornaments at all, but I have no problem with unusual vs. normal.

Anyone else a total nerd like me and would like DnD/Roleplay stuff (Dice, minis, books, corny tees, etc.)?

Nope, one hobby I haven't picked up on.

Who likes yarn? What kinds/colors/weights/fibers? Handspun? Glitter? Funky art yarn made from shredded jeans, fake flowers, lace, sequins, and the tattered souls of your enemies? Other craft supplies you desperately want more of and can't live without?

I love yarn! Generally sock yarn in any fiber except silk. Handspun is extra yummy, glitter is GO, and art yarn is interesting if not always practical.

Which witches would like hair accessories: clips, scrunchies, hairsticks, headscarves, etc?

I wish I could, my hair doesn't do accessories other than simple hairbands to hold it in a ponytail on occasion. I told this to my friend and she didn't believe me til she tried to do my hair with clips one night and they were sliding out halfway through dinner.

Hand beaded jewelery, yay or nay?

    Yay!

To make up for the fact that I probably won't be able to send my witchee homebaked goodies, will Tim Tams in any number of varieties be an acceptable replacement?

I have been dying to try Tim Tams even since I heard of them - provided they're vegetarian of course.

Is there any time during the holidays (or the rest of the round) when you'll be away from home for a significant period and it'd be best not to send anything by mail?

Not that I know of, and even if I were my address would still work.

Speaking of which, how many Browncoat witches do we have?? And if you are, would you be interested in getting a Kaylee parasol? If not, would you be interested in getting a paper parasol hand painted with your favorite colors?

*raises hand* I'm a big fan of Firefly and Serenity, although I don't know what I would do with a Kaylee parasol. Like big enough to use or just for decoration?

It seems like are quite a few knitting witches, so I assume they are on the Ravelry forum as well. If so, what are your names on there so I can stalk you?

I'm stariel on Ravelry too. I'm stariel everywhere.

Would you personally rather get handmade jewelry or the beads to make something yourself?

I'd rather get the finished item, I'm not that much of a beader so I'm sure my witch could do it better.

Do you like to cook? if so, what? Would you like things like spices, cookbooks, recipes, tips?

I do like to cook, but I bake more. Vegetarian recipes (especially Indian and Thai food) and recipes for baked goods are always welcome. I have quite a few cookbooks that I don't use much, but if there's an amazing one you know of then by all means.

Do any of you like puzzle books?

A friend tried to get me into Sudoku, and though I do enjoy it I don't often have the motivation to go start one - if I do I can't rest til it's finished.

I love Christmas music even though I'm pagany -- how about you?

Not really. I like to sing and there are a few Christmas carols that I sing, but I don't actually listen to Christmas music.

Anyone else have a sudden and unexpected favorite BPAL lately?

I have an ongoing obsession with Succubus, but that's really not unexpected or sudden. I just got an imp of Lolita and loved it at first sniff...

It's cold outside - what are your favorite drinks to keep yourself warm and cozy?

I love hot chocolate, chai, other tea, and hot apple cider (cold too!). When I'm going out I'm all about peppermint mochas.

Would my potential Witchee be up for some music stuff they'd never heard before if they couldn't understand the words?

Not understanding the words isn't a huge issue for me, but I'm rather picky about music. I really can't stand any rap / R&B or most country music, and I'm not into pop much either. And then even with genres of music I supposedly like (prog rock, metal, grunge, alternative, some punk), I'm very picky artist to artist - often for reasons I can't explain and which no one else seems to grasp.

What kind of candy/sweet treat would you like to receive?

I love marzipan and caramel, both chocolate-covered. I also like chocolate with nuts and sometimes fruit - like orange or cranberry... yum! And cookies are a favorite as well.
  10. stariel
Booze. Do you drink it, would you like some? No thanks, I don't drink.

Do you like scented tarts? I don't have a tart warmer, I like candles though!

Lip balms? Love them, but some of my past SPs have stocked me up with quite a few. But if they are special ones then by all means!

What is your favorite artist or art style? Hmm... I like Starry Night, and pretty much anything with stars. Also I like Escher. And if my witch is an artist I would love wall art by them - I have a collection of original paintings / drawings.

Do you have any body mods? If so, do you need any new jewelry, o-rings, plugs, etc (and if so, what size, length, etc)? Do you like pro-body mod stickers? I have 2ish tattoos and 8 piercings - 4 in each ear. Mostly I don't change my jewelry much, but any star stud earrings are greatly appreciated as long as they're not super-tiny (I saw some the other day that looked like they would pull through the hole!) or super huge, because as you can guess with 4 earrings the ear real estate is a bit cramped. My lowest holes are gauged to a 12 and I love the dangling spiral metal earrings.

DVDs: Do you prefer widescreen or formatted? Widescreen!

Music: Any preference towards MP3 or CD? Either is fine, though I almost never listen to actual CDs so MP3s are great if it saves you blank CDs.

So for those of you who are into Harry Potter at all, which house do you think you'd be sorted into? Probably either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, I've gotten both on different quizzes.

Are you into Austen's books? I've liked most of the ones I've read, but I haven't done all of them yet.

Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? I used to have a deck long ago, but I never got that into it.

What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? I barely watch TV, and when I do mostly on DVD or instant watch from Netflix. Maybe The L Word?

If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? I don't have any dress up hobbies.

Celebrity crush?: It was Heath Ledger, but then he had to go and die. Now Alexander Skarsgård.

Knitted things?: I am a knitter, but I'd love to receive knitted things too!

What about [mixed or otherwise] DVDs? Uh... mixed DVDs? Sure, I guess...

Hallowe'en plans? I don't have anything planned yet.

Mix CDs? Sure, if you think we have similar taste in music. I'm pretty picky.

Girlyness level? It's funny, a lot of people are posting about how they're not that girly and I think they sound much more "girly" than I am! I don't own a blowdryer, and I don't wear makeup other than (usually untinted) lip gloss. I only dress up on special occasions. I guess if you think that crazy socks are girly I could be a little bit, otherwise not much at all. I almost always wear crew neck band t-shirts - unisex ones at that - and jeans. I also generally wear mens / unisex sneakers, though it can be hard to find them in my tiny size. I do have longish hair, but I don't style it much beyond wearing it down or in a ponytail, and I don't have fancy hair accessories. The only really girly thing I wear is my underwear, and that's generally pretty functional rather than decorative too.

Baked goods: Sure, as long as they're vegetarian!

Gifts for other household members: My other household members are cats and fish. The fish don't really need gifts, and the cats don't get treats often, so they're plenty stocked up. They wouldn't mind toys I'm sure.

Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? I have a ton of imps I haven't gotten around to testing yet, so if possible I'd rather have "big" things. I'm open to imps too, though!

social networking usernames, ie twitter, facebook, livejournal, ravelry, anything else: I'm stariel on ravelry, twitter, and livejournal - though that one's friends locked, if you add me just tell me who you are on BPAL. My Facebook is reserved for people I know IRL, and I don't really update it frequently anyway.

would you like to receive Groupons or similar deals/gift certificates from your Witch? No Groupons thanks, I check them for my area and I'd get one if it was something I really wanted. But gift certificates to an online store you think I would like are welcome.

How about tshirt/bottoms sizes? Sadly clothing is pretty much out. Because of surgery I'll hopefully be having in the spring (preventative mastectomy and reconstruction) I have no idea what size I'll need.

Would you prefer a poem or romance novel & what type of romance novel?

I don't read much in the way of romance novels, though I have read some very trashy vampire ones just for fun. Any good paranormal one that isn't too romancey would be good - I just read Soulless and really enjoyed that. Poetry is good too!

How do you feel about burned mix cds (good time for mood music *giggle*)?

I already have an anti-Valentine playlist that I listen to, since I pretend to be bitter and single. (I am single, just not actually bitter.) But I'd take a listen if my cupid wants to make me a mix CD!

Do you have metal/ jewelry allergies?

I generally try to stick with silver or surgical steel for earrings, since I have had reactions in the past, I'm just not sure what metals they were.

    1-14

Do you bake/would you be interested in baked goods or related mixes?

I do bake and would love baked goods, though keep in mind that I live alone when choosing the quantity. (I'm still eating cookies sent by a minion of my winter SW - luckily they freeze well and she packaged them in three smaller airtight containers!) I usually bake for work meetings since then I can foist most of it off on my coworkers.

    1-15

Do you like cute stationery, stickers, note cards, stuff like that?

Love it! I have quite a bit of stationery, but I do use it up. I'm a big fan of stickers too.

Do you like tea? If so, do you prefer your tea loose or in tea bags?

I do like tea, mostly herbal tea and flavored black teas, and especially chai! Loose or bagged is fine, I use both kinds regularly.

Would you enjoy some loose beads for your own crafts, or any other crafty bits?

I don't really do any beading, though I did long ago... I occasionally use beads in knitting, but those are sort of specific to the project. I'm pretty set on yarn crafty supplies, but I am just learning to machine sew, so if there are any small useful things I'd be happy to get them! So far I have a sewing machine, a large pin cushion, cheap straight pins, and a cheap seam ripper.

Would you rather get things all together or in a couple of doses?

Whatever is best for my Cupid is fine with me, it's such a short time frame and shipping is expensive.

    Kid/Parent/church lady safe or not?

I don't have any children and live alone, and I'm not a church lady. But I am a bit of a prude, so mildly risque is fine, totally out there is probably not!

Length of necklace, size of bracelet, post or dangle earrings preferred?

I am lazy, so I rarely change jewelry. I've been wearing the same necklace most days for months, and I generally sleep in it / shower in it etc. I do like the length (it's a little pendant on a 19" chain)
My wrist is just under 6.25" circumference, and the base of my hand isn't much bigger, so 7" or less is probably best.
I mainly just wear small post earrings - I have larger ones in my bottom ear piercing - but those are gauged to 12, so as far as "regular" earrings go they're confined to my top two holes in each ear, and there isn't a ton of room.

Stuffed critters or other things of the cuddly variety?

Love them! Though I already have many, so I'll invoke the "if it's special" rule. If it's handmade or seems just perfect for me, then I'll gladly have it, but there's no need to go buy me yet another stuffie.

Would you mind receiving an in person delivery from your Cupid?

I think it would be fun, but you'd have to find a secret way to make sure I'm at home... that rarely happens.

For those who don't do jewelry/have a prohibitive amount of metal sensitivities, etc., would you prefer something like a keychain charm or other little ornamental thing?

My keychain is a bit full at the moment, but I do switch things out now and again (especially since things knocking around with my keys tend to break after a while).

For you chocolate lovers - do you like yours plain or with nuts? If nuts are good, which kind?

Either, though I do love chocolate with nuts. Almonds and hazelnuts are some of my faves, but coconut is also good (and not exactly a nut...)

    Do you like hot cocoa?

Yes! I do like it! Oh, I forgot to mention in my questionnaire, but if you send something like hot cocoa, I'd like the full sugar variety without artificial sweeteners... they don't like me much. I really like mint and caramel flavored ones too.

Does anyone have any strong objection to gently used items?

Nope used is fine, aside from the obvious gross exceptions (like undies).

chile, yay or nay? (Example: I had a delicious dark chocolate bar the other day that had dried cherries and red chile....YUM! There are local cookies here that are shortbread type with chile. And of course, in NM we are famous for our chile ristras which are mostly decorative (though usually you could use the dried chiles if you wanted to).)

I do like spicy things, so I'd probably appreciate chile chocolate, especially with cherries!

    November 11th

Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or h ate it? Like some but not others?

How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce?

What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above?

    November 10th

Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that?

I'd love a non-breakable one that has a way to keep the soap dry. I used to have a soap dish in my shower, but I knocked it off the side of the tub and broke it.

If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks?

I have plenty of socks, so I'd prefer a not-too-lacy shawlette personally - I wouldn't wear a full on lacy shawl because it's just not my style, but a shawlette that can be used like a scarf would be good.

Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours?

I do like Harry Potter. I already have a Gryffindor scarf that I knit. (I'd probably pick Ravenclaw, but my sister got that one and we needed a full set of houses.) I have a couple t-shirts as well, and that's probably enough for me.

Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions?

I got a decant of Mid Winter's Eve and I quite like it.

    November 9th

Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny?

I just sniffed a bunch at Seattle Will Call, and most of them were pretty bad on me. Honestly I only really like about 5% of the scents I try, and that's after weeding out several death notes. I have funky skin chemistry.

    Do you like coin purses?

I have a really cute one.

    November 7th

What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular.

I like both of those along with cloves, cinnamon, and many others.

Do you like artisan oils and vinegars?

    Not especially.

Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type?

Please not a page-a-day, I think they're a waste of paper. My cousin once got me a "Green" page-a-day - what an oxymoron! I could use a bigger monthly one if my fox has an idea, but it's not a huge priority.

    November 6th

Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines?

I like to buy Fair Trade stuff when it's available. As far as donating to a charity, I usually donate my time but if my fox wanted to do something like that, I volunteer for PAWS, a local animal shelter / wildlife rehabilitation facility.

Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in?

I don't have a tart burner, and I'd probably prefer candles anyway.

Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things?

I'm always up for more vegetarian holiday recipes. I love to bake myself, and I'd certainly appreciate baked goods from my fox. As for savory stuff, as long as it's veggie then I'd be up to try it, but I'm really more of a sweet tooth person.

Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for?

I like candles, but I rarely remember to actually light them. That said, I think I'd like Pumpkin Cookie.

Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.?

No, as long as it's something reasonable like a book and not panties.

Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms?

I am a scientist, and a crazy knitter, but I don't really consider myself a nerd. I'm interested in science because of work (and in general) but I'm not your typical "nerdy" scientist person.

Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies?

Love! Lemon is one of my favorite flavors.

    fingerless mittens or full mitts?

I'd like some fingerless mitts, especially if they're longish and cover a lot of the fingers without covering the fingertips (like, not ending at the top of the palm).

    November 4th

    reveal, yes or no?

I'm planning to reveal and I hope my fox does too!

    Any favorite cuddly characters?

    Not really.

    Moxie Nouveau groupon?

    I got one for myself.

    what's your favourite colour?

Blue! I also like purple (especially blue-purple), silver, grey, and black.

    Your favourite gemstone?

    Sapphire or other blue stones.

Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)?

I love cats and tropical fish, and bats, and horses... I like a lot of animals.

And do you have any intense phobias?

I don't like clowns or most dolls, but it's not really a phobia. But I'd prefer you didn't send me clown stuff. I have a semi-phobia of spit, but I can't imagine how or why you'd send that, so stay away from photos of drooly dogs or other animals and we should be good. Other than that no.

Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause?

    Nope!

Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks?

My bottles are fitting nicely in their box, but I wouldn't mind a box for storing imps if my fox has found a good solution.

    November 2nd

Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own?

    Nope!

How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero?

    I am ambivalent about superheros.

Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online.

I do like their stuff, though I don't take baths too often and I already have a little stock of bath bombs. I love the I Love Juicy shampoo and use it often, but I have about half of a big bottle right now.

would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents?

I stlll have little soaps from my last one that I haven't tried yet. I really don't use much bar soap.

Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety?

I have two cats (one of them actually just stepped on the keyboard alerting me to this question by typing letters after it!) and they'd love little toys or treats but they don't really need them.

How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any?

I like honey quite a bit, and love beeswax candles!

Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist?

I do like Trader Joe's, but I have one pretty close.

The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything?

Snoggin' sounds interesting, but I'm a bit worried it might be too boozy. I do like mint, so White Snow, Bright Snow might be good. And Comfort and Joy sounds promising other than the wine. I need little sniffies!

If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you?

Autumn Cider! It's really the only one that was good on me this year.

Will you be away for any part of the round?

At this point I have no plans to be away except for maybe next weekend, and even if I did it would likely only be for a couple days.

Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade.

I don't have a shop, but if someone is interested in trading me something for a knitted accessory for their bunny, we could probably work something out!

What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything?

Well, according to the librarian I like "stories of individuals struggling, but not always overcoming mighty forces, often evil".

We have this thing where you can fill out an online request for your next 5 books based on what you like, and that's how the librarian described my taste. But, to be fair, the books he suggested sound really good!

I actually have a big pile of books that I haven't read yet, but if my fox thinks I'll really like something I'd definitely be open to it.

If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie?

Not really. I like choral versions of traditional Christmas songs (carols etc.) but I wouldn't listen to it outside a live performance that occurred within a week or so of Christmas. (I get really annoyed by how Christmas stuff has now overlapped Halloween practically. It's not even Thanksgiving, no Christmas until December 1st at the earliest!)

Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.)

I'm not a big fan of floral flavors, but I do like Turkish Delight in fruity flavors.

Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?)

I have no idea what mastic tastes like, but I'd give it a try as long as it's vegetarian!

i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter).

Well, I don't eat chicken wings, but for other savory food items, I do like spicy stuff and sweet + spicy. I like my spice medium-hot. Spicy enough that it tastes spicy, but not so much that the hot flavor overwhelms everything else.

If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like?

Maybe Amazon, since a friend is probably giving me a used Kindle and I could get books for it. I go to Starbucks occasionally, so a card from there would definitely get used. And I do love Sock Dreams!

If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies?

I would love nuts or cherries, or both! Avoid bacon (obviously). I like nuts, fruit, and especially marzipan in my chocolate.

Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you?

I can't have caramel because of my braces, and marshmallows usually have gelatin, so probably not.

Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update?

It's pretty, but I don't wear much jewelry.

    October 30

Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such?

    I don't do a Christmas tree.

Would you like a special ornament?

As long as it's not specifically Christmas, I could hang it somewhere in my house year-round!

    Tim Tams. Yay or nay?

Yay! So far I've just tried the original and caramel (maybe Dulce de Leche?) flavors. I'd love some more exotic ones.

I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store?

I have no problem eating things that my swap partner makes for me (or someone else, I suppose!) as long as they're vegetarian! But the thought of deep fried cookies does make me pause.

Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed?

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and don't usually entertain, plus my dishes came with a few serving pieces so I think I'm set.

My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist?

Sure! I'm a big fan of citrus scents, and I'd go with moist but not too oily - my skin is pretty oily other than my legs.

Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted?

Yes, though I have to remember to light them more often! I like foodie scents, especially fruit and baked goods - citrus is probably my favorite. I have a lemon bar one that's pretty fantastic. And I'd love them if they were decorative, though I'd probably save them for display rather than burn them. Last year I got some beautiful handmade Halloween candles with Jack O' Lantern faces and I have them on display all year!

Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores

I usually have a little soap in my bathroom for handwashing, so I do use them but not very quickly. I also have quite a stock, so I don't really need any but if my snowflake is inspired to send me a special one then it will be used eventually.

Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams?

I adore socks, I have many that I've knit and wear them most of the winter. I'm also a big fan of novelty socks, though knee high and OTK ones usually don't fit because I have really big calves.

I don't really have slippers, though I've been thinking that it might be nice to have some cozy ones to wear around the house so my feet don't get cold. If they had enough of a sole to be able to go out and get the mail (a short walk down some outside stairs, no walking on dirt!) then that would be a plus too.

Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl

I'd give it a try! I don't know if that particular cowl is really my style, I have a smaller one that I wear a lot in the winter, though.

talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA?

I don't have a coffee-making apparatus at home, but I will drink mochas at coffee shops. I do make tea often, and especially enjoy chai!

Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like?

I don't really wear makeup, but if it's a lip gloss / balm or a skincare thing I'd be willing to try it.

Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences?

I almost never paint my nails, it doesn't work well with my job.

If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!)

I'd get another bottle of Autumn Cider, cuz it's yummy. And some imps off my wishlist maybe? I'm at the point where I have lots of stuff to test but don't really need any more bottles of my fave GCs. Although a backup Snake OIl wouldn't hurt...

    October 29th

So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy?

A scented candle maybe, some face washing cloth things - I like them when I'm too lazy to splash water around and clean it up at night , film for my camera, a candy bar.

I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it).

I have most of the ones I use regularly (chili powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cumin, basil, oregano, cardamom, bay leaves, etc.) but if you want to send me a recipe and it has a weird spice then I'd love some.

Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)?

Of course I do, I'm a knitter! My favorite colors are blue, purple, black, grey, and some greens (bluer is better than yellow. As far as fiber, I don't use silk or other fibers that require killing the animal (possum etc.) but wool is OK. It doesn't have to be machine washable, I handwash a lot of stuff already.

hey swap partner...could you use a new mug?

I love mugs! I especially love the Starbucks mugs from different cities with the light blue building drawings on them. If my swapper has a Starbucks nearby and can still find them in stock I'd love one.

Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try?

I like regional treats / candy, but I can't think of anything specific.
