Still butterscotch on my wrists but the smokiness floats away while the red labdanum and cognac come around. LavenderCoffee Report post Posted July 22 I keep wanting to make a dad joke about how this was made in a lab for me (in an alchemy lab! made to order for me!), but man oh MAN this butterscotchy woodsmoke is my absolute jam. can I live in this scent? will they keep making it for always? the more I smell it the more I'm amazed at the artistry, which is common with BPAL, but when it is also a blend that feels perfect for me, I am simply goggled. it's so much MORE than just butterscotch and woodsmoke: the cognac and saffron are exquisite in this. very evocative of the red yellow pinky purple of the label, and terribly sexy. splendidissima Report post Posted July 23 I wanted to get more of the Lestat scents, but so far most of them have had at least one note that really isn't a 'me' note - but this one sounded good! And it is luscious indeed, and evocative! Smoky butterscotch - sort of autumnal - with the rich warmth of cognac, and then a bright/sharp bite from the pepper, which I like - something that brightens it and makes it feel a little dangerous and more complex than sweet dark fall browns. I'm not even sure how to categorize it, because it's got that butterscotch base but it's not really a gourmand, as someone said above - it's more complicated and the sweetness is tempered by everything else. elissamay Report post Posted Friday at 11:41 AM I really enjoyed wearing this one, even though gourmand scents aren't usually my thing. But, this really isn't gourmand, is it? It's sweet, and the butterscotch is identifiable as butterscotch, but the labdanum, smoke, and pepper pull this into a sexy territory that isn't as simple as sticky candies in meemaw's purse. Canonically, I think the Butterscotch Bitch is Armand, and so I feel that from the scent: a surface of perfect sweetness with a whole fuckton of complexity and sharpness underneath. Turns out to be a very boozy woodsmoke scent with the saffron being surprisingly strong. I wouldn't wear it for the butterscotch, there's really not much sweetness to it at all, but this scent has a really fun vibe.
