I have hoped and dreamed that one of my all-time favorite scents would reappear, and here she is: radiant, glowing, in full bloom. Fresh out of the bottle Red Rose is a warm, spicy, sexy floral with a fresh, foresty overtone. I just sprayed myself liberally, so I will update as it dries down! roseus Report post Posted January 20 Was going back on forth on whether I *needed* this when I have plenty of Peacock Queen HG as well as Rose Red HG. Glad to say I think it is sufficiently different! Definitely a less fresh, more velvety rose like Peacock Queen but less jammy. However, after all the long years of BPALing, when I saw the note list for it this time around, I decided to take a chance- and I'm SO glad I did! This sexy, aromatic beast features a jammy rose with spice for days. I can see why folks that tried it years ago were so excited to get their hands on some more. I don't know that the perfume would have been a good fit for me, but as a hair gloss, I anticipate using this a bunch, and it will pair nicely with the many resins, woods and spice-heavy scents that exist in my collection. ❤️ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
doomsday_disco Report post Posted 6 hours ago (edited) I've never tried the original, but I decided to grab a decant of the hair gloss since the original was so beloved. This is mostly about the red rose and musk on me, backed by the tobacco, with just touches of the other notes. I don't know how to describe the musk except to say that it's the same one from Aperotos Eros and Galvanic Goggles in the GC, so if you are wondering if this musk will be up your alley, dig through your imps and see if you have one of those around to sniff to get a feel for the musk. Red Rose is noticeable on both wet hair and dry, but of course, was much stronger when applied to dry hair. The hair gloss has great staying power and can still be smelled in the hair the next morning. I have a decant in the original bottle and will definitely be hanging on to it, but since I already have full bottles of Rose Red and Peacock Queen hair glosses in addition to decants of other rose hair glosses, I don't think I need more of this one.
