doomsday_disco Report post Posted July 2 Absolute freedom: austere, untethered, liberated, and haunting. This is the scent of the wilderness after civilization collapses: a whiff of well-worn leather and pale lilies silently prowling through ancient, moss-thick forests, silvered sage, mountain air, and the fast-fading memory of an 18th century Italian perfume. A scent wind-struck and untouchable, walking into eternity without regret.
quintessentially Report post Posted July 12 Wet on the skin, it’s mossy, sage-y and I definitely get a deep inhale of that thick, billowing mountain air that’s mentioned in the description. As the mountain air clears out and the perfume dries down, I get the worn leather note, softly perfumed, which is beautiful and somehow both masculine and feminine at the same time. I’m glad I splurged for a bottle of this!
Invidiana Report post Posted July 17 Pale, cold and spectral, Gabriella captures Lestat's mother (who he ultimately brings into the Blood) as she was centuries ago and will remain for eternity. She appears against a backdrop of mountains shrouded in mist. Her marble face is freshly washed in perfumed Italian soap, redolent of white lily petals, and scents of the forest cling to her preternatural skin. There is something of a chill that cannot be explained by the heavy snows in which her son felled eight wolves. Frosted sage and moss haunt the mists around her, resting upon the softest nuance of saddle leather. There is a strange nostalgia to this scent that can touch even someone who never had to survive a winter in a castle without fire. She is a vampire, and the warmth has long since left her body. ghoulnextdoor Report post Posted July 22 A whipped, creamy, floral, elegant, and restrained; a candied hush, the inside of a vanity drawer emptied two hundred years ago and still faintly, sweetly powdered even now. Moss at golden hour, sugar-glazed, dreaming under a crystalline cloche. Diffuse, wistful, and yet somehow vast. Soft paired equivalences, huge gentle things addressed by small transparent ones, “you are a drifting sound/And I am a veil of glass—”
LavenderCoffee Report post Posted July 25 slightly feral and gloriously (perfectly) genderless. soft leather, sage, and a hint of perfume in the cool woods, all in impeccable balance. a blur of silvery hair through the silvery air. I was nervous about this one bc I have a tough time with sage sometimes, but it wears beautifully and I'm so glad to have it.
galahad Report post Posted August 5 In the bottle: quite perfumey in a good way and I agree with @LavenderCoffee that it is gender neutral. Gorgeous in the bottle. On the skin: this does come across as quite wild and unfettered but very refined in it's presentation. "Silvered" is entirely appropriate as it's cool and slick. I get the mossines, the lily, the leather and the scent of pine forests. Very beautiful.
wilhelmscream Report post Posted August 5 In the bottle: Green woods, cool air, sage. Definitely pick up the leather note. On the skin: Soft leather and sage. A faded bit of perfume in the distance. Clean, creamy. Overall: While this isn't really the kind of perfume I'd normally go for, it does something for me. It gives me a foggy memory of some bar of soap or shampoo... something vaguely, wistfully nostalgic.
wolf_truffles Report post Posted Saturday at 02:58 AM Sweet and perfumey sage and moss. But there's also something a bit sticky under it all, maybe that's the leather? This has a really strong throw! Dorian loud to me- they could be friends.
