The sandalwood note in this blend is out of this world. I love it so much. Wow wow wow wow wow!!! So beautiful. The pumpkin is chef's kiss, too, and makes this the perfect Halloweeny blend that, yes, can be worn year round!!

Headstrong and sweet at the same time. The strawberry, vanilla and amber hit out first and a little dab will do ya! Then cherry comes out too, and an hour later, I get the red musk. This goes on so strong and lasts a long time and it’s so juicy.

Mouthpuckeringly tart cranberry with red currant, thyme and mint backing it up at the start. It’s rich and full of depth, and I’m in awe of the complexity of this blend. It only gets better as it dries down, too, with the teakwood and cedar and tobacco flower coming out. It’s a stunning scent.

For the first few hours, this is all leather leather leather! After that, the sandalwood comes out too and it’s a comforting, warm and cozy scent that plays close to the skin.

Host of the Air gives me berries, lots of heather and grass and soft fielded florals dancing on the breeze. (On drydown, I can detect the wine, too!) The blend is airy and breezy and reminds me of rolling down the hill behind my cousin’s house as children.

I’m really digging oakmoss scents lately, so I went on a bit of a spree and got a bunch of BPAL with oakmoss listed as a note. I only get oakmoss during the wet phase of this perfume, combined with a mustiness that I attribute to the mushroom caps. It’s rich and earthy and combines well with the oakmoss. The drydown is really where this scent shines. It’s all sweet fig and soft patchouli. It’s really beautiful. A keeper for sure.

In the decant, I smell star jasmine (which smells florally-yet-fruity, almost like a currant to me), fir and something aquatic. It smells delicious. On the skin, I get almost entirely star jasmine. It’s different from regular jasmine, but I still amp both like crazy. Eventually, the fir note peeps out from behind, saying hey! I’m here too! Egle doesn’t last a long time, but I don’t mind reapplying her.

I don’t think I get cake from this! What I do get is pure clove smoke and tobacco, with a creamy undertone. It’s sweet and is reminiscent of Dorian at times, which must be the tea note.

This is very muted and stays low to my skin all throughout. I was hoping for more amped notes from the patch, but I really don't get anything! Even the iris is muted. So sad. -
Why Do I Have to Feel

At first, this is a warm douse of cognac and soft white blossoms soaked by ozonic rain. Cognac and florals wear off after the drydown, leaving behind the oak and amber notes. With more time, the black musk comes out as well, darkening things even further. These notes bring an ultra moody feel to the blend, and I can just feel Lestat crooning the notes of this song to Louis, baring the depths of his heartbreak and hurt through song. -
Wet on the skin, I can detect some carnation amid all the florals. Rose is strongest. On drydown, all I got from this is white rose!

In the bottle, I can detect that bay rum, coffee and magnolia most strongly! It’s some potent stuff. Wet on the skin, you get all three of those combinants but the black coffee note and magnolia win out as the strongest on first application. As it dries down, what I get is the spice of the blood and patchouli notes and the sultry sweetness of the florals. It's really warm, seductive, intimate and inviting, while also inviting danger. It’s really an artful representation of Louis as we see him on the show. I bow to Beth’s talent!

I got a bottle of this today and I had to try it right away, I couldn't even let it rest! What I got was an exquisite fougere dancing with a soft lavender and sandalwood base coating a bed of sage and soft, well-worn leather. It's really beautiful. @OxfordComma got it right, this truly does smell like dapper lads in the sun! I'm glad I went in for a full bottle rather than a decant somewhere, because it's really well done. If you like fougeres, you should try this one on!

Wet in the decant, this smells fruity and almost candy-like in presentation. When applied, I get mostly currants with pomegranate lurking underneath. Pom comes out the more time passes. As the scent dries down, sandalwood comes beckoning and it’s kind of raspy but in a seductive kind of way. I enjoy it. This lasts a good long while and wears well. I’m glad to have found a sandalwood that doesn’t give me a headache!
