Wet on the skin, it’s mossy, sage-y and I definitely get a deep inhale of that thick, billowing mountain air that’s mentioned in the description. As the mountain air clears out and the perfume dries down, I get the worn leather note, softly perfumed, which is beautiful and somehow both masculine and feminine at the same time. I’m glad I splurged for a bottle of this!

I’ve never smelled OG Eve so I don’t have that basis for comparison but this is all sage and honey for me!

I’m on a quest to try as many sweet pea blends as I can, so Plunging into the Hellmouth seems a pretty natural choice, right? I mean, sweet pea has first billing in the listed notes, after all. Well… sweet pea may have first billing here but this is predominantly a plumeria scent to me. There are other florals in a soft flurry beneath the plumeria, but it’s really plumeria doing the heavy lifting to my nose. I don’t mind necessarily that, because I don’t have a plumeria dominant blend in my collection. As time wears on, the pink pepper comes out and lends it a bright, spicy element. Not the sweet pea holy grail I was seeking, but a glorious entry in its own right.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. In the bottle, I smell the sugared cardamom and it is sweeeeeeet! When applied to my skin, it morphs into something spicy and I attribute that to the dead leaves note, with a kinda mossy undertone. It's pretty and very autumnal and I love it!

Sweet and fruity orange and apricot with a resinousness to it. The vanilla and chamomile come peeking out, bringing an almost minty tea/herbaceous sensation to it all. Oud deepens the blend in whiffs and whaffs.

I’ve tried this on a few different times to try to get a strong discernment of the notes, and I just can’t. It’s a well blended perfume, and I’m hard pressed to identify any individual notes except for the patch. The patchouli is mossy and earthy and not unpleasant to my nose, which I appreciate, because not all patchoulis are created equal in my eyes. The scent it dries into is pretty and masterful and I truly enjoy it, even if I can’t tell precisely what’s in it!

Wet on the skin, this is sugary sweet blueberry with a richness I’m going to attribute to the bergamot. As it dries, something powdery and soft comes out—I’m guessing the orris root. The blueberry fades away, and I don’t get much of that lilac to begin with. It’s a zesty blend at first application, though, so maybe I’ll just keep reapplying…

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful blend. On wet application, you get a flurry of florals and sweetened white tea. As it dries down, the black oud and lavender come out, the purple eye of the storm of this ‘fluttering tempest.’

In the decant, I can smell the guava and the fig more strongly, but when I apply it to my skin, it's very faint. Soft and gentle. On drydown, I get a beautiful cream, but again, this is very faint--I have to put my nose to my skin to smell it.

This is all sandalwood and amber for me, which smells lovely, but I was so hoping for some lovely sweet pea! Not even a glimmer to be found on me! Damn skin chemistry!

I expected this to be fruity and floral but in reality it came out very herbally and green. To the swaps pile, and my quest to try every apple-related scent continues!

HOLY WHITE TEA AND JASMINE, BATMAN! I knew I amped jasmine like a wild thing but it's like the combination of jasmine note with these other components has made it so the man on the moon can smell me! This is very powerful. -
I got pure green tea and wisteria from this one! The green tea note started giving me a headache, too, so I washed it off very quickly. I was hoping for a lot more blackcurrant!

This is a sweet fruit smell, but it's also very green to me. I think that comes from "pink strawberries"--which I envision as those poor berries plucked too soon before their time, when they're still firm and mottled white and pink and haven't yet turned to that juicy ruby-red fruit that dribbles down my chin when I bite into it. I get some of the other notes later on, but gardenia overpowers them in a way that I don't like. -
This went totally acrid on me almost immediately. I blame the cream note (it reminds me of the time I tried on Katrina van Tassel) but I've been told by other BPAL friends that this could've also been the honey note. Either way, it's totally unwearable for me, so to the swaps!
