BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

Fresh on the black pepper amps so much it almost makes me sneeze. It settles down to just what it says in the description though: candied violets like in Faith, but with something hot cutting through it.

Pepper right out the gate! The candied violets are sweet and green, and they blend well with the fresh pepper note. It has a very clean feel to it on my skin, and dries to a light powdery softness on me. The powdered softness could read too grandma-y, but thankfully, the candied aspect and the depth for the pepper keep it from getting to that stage.

I get a fresh cracked black pepper vibe over Parma violets, but the pepper fades into the background and it's all candied violets. Which I love, so no complaints here lol. Maybe a little hint of dry spice in the background? Reminds me of Possets Bouquet a la Marechale, that kind of spiced floral vibe.

In the bottle: Just violet.

At first: A soapy, not-quite-sharp violet.

2.5 hours in: Powdery. A little soapy and a little sweet.

5 hours in: Still about the same.

9 hours in: Soft and powdery.

Overall: Better in the bottle than on my skin, unfortunately. I’ll have to rely on Faith for my candies violet fix. I may try this in my oil burner.
