OxfordComma Report post Posted June 16 Sumptuous is a perfect descriptor for this. It truly feels velvety, like well loved antique furniture. I think the amber here is somewhat similar to the amber in Inyo Gozasso Nozu. It has a similar classic/polished vibe to me. At first, this one is nice but not wow but me but as it dries it just gets better and better and after an hour or so, it is glorious. It's not overly smoky but more like velvet drapes that hung near incense for years, absorbing the residue of rituals. Rich crimson and gilt accents. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Minh Scent Report post Posted July 16 I am trying to figure out what I am smelling when I first apply this. It is very strong, familiar, and I am not quite sure I like it. Furniture polish? As it dries down, I get more of the rose and frank. I don't have the imagination of Invidiana and OxfordComma (no tangled lovers, velvet drapes or poems) and sadly, no red musk like Theredkilt. roseus Report post Posted August 2 Dry red musk, deep woody frankincense, and I'm fairly certain labdanum are the strongest notes initially. Deep, resinous, and slightly harsh. leptonpyr Report post Posted yesterday at 12:20 AM (edited) Chimères goes on borderline-unpleasantly sharp. I'm not sure what's happening exactly, but my guess is that something about the combination of Bulgarian rose and frankincense causes some kind of citronellal overload that, I'm sorry to say, recalls insect repellent unmistakably. Fortunately, however, the unpleasant wet phase doesn't last, and it dries down into a slightly sharp, astringent rose, enveloped in soft, powdery amber accords and hazy incense. Something about this scent feels overwhelmingly *soft*, like a giant marshmallow or a plush velvet pillow. That velvet accord really conjures the feeling of softness! It dries down into a nice rose on me, but I have other rose scents I like much better, and that don't open with a bug-spray top note, so I think I'll be hanging onto my decant but passing on a bottle.
