Thank goodness the espresso isn’t strong or taking over, that’s what killed plain Pumpkin Latte for me. This one is perfect. SmellsPrettyGood2Me Report post Posted January 31 Very robust, dark coffee dominates the scent while wet in the bottle, with the usual BPAL pumpkin spice note, and a hint of creaminess from the nog. On skin, the spice and coffee notes switch places, and the brown sugar syrup appears in the background. There is definitely a thick, non-lactonic dairy element present that reflects custard as well. By about minute 30 that oily, silky coffee note has pretty much disappeared completely. The nutmeg and cinnamon are perfectly balanced, and the brown sugar syrup gets even nicer post dry down. Projection is quite bold, so apply carefully. I could still catch whiffs of it over 10 hours later! If you're wary of coffee fragrances, this one didn't smell like coffee for very long on me at all. All of the notes were extremely photorealistic, which was refreshing because I recently had a not-so-great encounter with a butterscotch note that sent me reeling. What really made this fantastic was the eggnog note; it smoothed everything out and tied the whole scent together. I can see wearing this nonstop between October and March, it's that good! I can smell cinnamon - that’s a bit strong, plus some kind of dark honey, but I’m probably mistaking that for the eggnog. It’s literally that: you take some of that store-bought pumpkin spice mix, stir it into warm milk, then sprinkle cinnamon on top—lots of it. Then you go crazy and throw in some egg yolk with lots of sugar and nutmeg, and some vanilla, because you want that, and maybe some rum—good rum, not cheap stuff—and then you top it with whipped cream. And because you crave coffee, you stumble and a bit of your just brewed espresso spills just a bit on top of it. So, this is true to its name. Well-balanced and safe. I associate it more with Christmas than with Halloween (oh it is a yule, why did I think it was a weenie). It is sweet, spicy, cozy.
