BPAL Madness!

Buttery sunscreen! Buttery sunscreen. I keep smelling my arm and sighing sadly because it's buttery sunscreen.

The coconut is very strong in the bottle and on wet, it's a very (for lack of a better word) fruity coconut- more Obatala than Coconut Meat SN. I gets both the obvious coconut cream smell, and the smell of coconut water. Like how coconut water has that slight faintly bitter greeeness to it? It is very pleasant and true to life, not too sweet and doesn't pull suncreeny on me. As it dries down I get a gorgeous starchy rice note.

I was scared of "buttery sunscreen", I really was. But that was silly - this scent is my jam! It's clean, fresh, and like a reviewer said, 'fruity'. To me it smells like I'm eating a bowl of Tom Kha at my favorite Thai restaurant, with some rice on the side. The rice is very faint.

Buttery? Yes, like coconut cream is buttery, but it smells nothing like sunscreen! It's delectable!

Coconut lovers be warned: you will shed a happy tear. It is the cool, sweet, fruity, clean scent of my dreams.

THIS conjured up one intense food memory!! Took me a minute to place it, but I finally got there. A college friend from Singapore's amazing yellow curry! He used to make it in mass quantities, his grandma's recipe, and I've never had another yellow curry like it since. But this is the distinct coconut milk base (he was super particular about no additives in his coco milk) with cellophane noodles. To me, this is a more savory than sweet coconut, and it's fantastic. I am also a huge fan of The Jeweled Spider, and this strikes me as a similar vibe, though far less complicated and much lighter than that blend. Still a tinge sweet, but nothing like the toasted coconut or sunscreen I often get from coconut notes. What a treat!
