Rose Buds, Mushrooms, and Moss

Recommended Posts

Going on there's almost a gourmand edge to the mushroom note - it reminded me of a dish of buttered mushrooms. That sounds really gross, but it wasn't at all! This settles into a slightly upscale, rich rose scent (like a Bulgarian rose) with a plush, very mossy moss note. The mushrooms are still there and not at all savory. This is a scent that defies easy categorization but if you consider yourself into idk, dark cottagecore or fairy core, or swamp-witch-core, or mori girl, or what have you, I think this would be an easy pick.

The mushroom dominates on me. It smells very brown and full, reminding of fresh mushroom caps. The rose is there, and does read as a sweeter, pink, rose. It's also playing scent fiddle to the mushroom, so I do get the imagery of rose buds over full blooms. And I can just pick out the moss in the background, adding a slightly misty, green nature to the mushroom more than anything else. Overall, a mushroom dominated scent. The rose and moss add a freshness and green note to the scent.

This is hard to describe. I'm getting a slightly spicy almost gourmand, not really bready, but brownish and a bit more like cinnamon than earthy mushroom, maybe a super light patchouli, but it is not like Death Cap to me, more smooth and less atmospheric. There is a note reminiscent of brown leaves on a forest floor, but not green pepper type leaves.

This description probably makes this blend sound sharp and earthy, but it somehow is not. This blend is soft, warm, and smoothed out by a sweetness throughout. I do get some rosebud, similar to the one used in one the Labyrinth blends, but it is not too fruity. The moss is a bit like oakmoss, but not overtly dominant.

Overall very nice and like nothing else. Smells natural, mossy, sweet, cuddly, slightly spicy on drydown. Overall color palette impression is green and brown. I do agree there is a fairy vibe. Total Keeper!
