Terebinth resin, jasmine absolute, and snow magnolia. Magnolia, jasmine, and a whiff of pine resin. Okay, hold up. This is the first time a magnolia and jasmine blend didn't just HULK OUT into some horrible monster of a blend and death match my nose into submission by smelling of wet wool and cat pee. This smells like creamy magnolias (yes, I know what they smell like, my MIL has a magnolia tree in her backyard), whiffs of delicate jasmine bloom, and underneath this pine resin. It's more of a skin scent, I'd say medium throw and wear length. But hell and damnation, first magnolia-jasmine blend not to turn into a monster. BRAVO.

A holding chamber for blood returning from the lungs: red mimosa, airy white cedar, pink grapefruit, and white amber. Mimosa, grapefruit, and amber. This one is a whiffy mimosa with amber. Wispy. Medium throw and wear length.

Receiving and holding deoxygenated blood: luminous amber and white tea, cherry blossom and cashmere wood. White tea, cherry blossom, and amber. This is a very white tea blend, well blended, pretty and very delicate. Good throw and wear length.

Tonka bean, vetiver, black currant, black tea, and clove. Black tea, currants, clove, and whiffs of tonka. This smells like a black tea and cookies sort of blend (I blame the cookies on the currants, clove, and warmth of the tonka). It's definitely an 'eastern' vibe to it. So elegant tea house in Japan sort of black tea. Good throw and wear length.

If it be sinne to loue a louely Lad: Oh then sinne I, for whom my soule is sad. O would to God (so I might have my fee) My lips were honey, and thy mouth a Bee. Then shouldst thou sucke my sweete and my faire flower That now is ripe, and full of honey-berries. – Richard Barnfield Animalic, sensuous, and fierce: juniper berry and patchouli with leather, black musk, burgundy pitch, and honey-berries. Juniper, honey berries, whiffs of black musk and pitch. The leather is MIA. Honestly, this smells like a very clean (hey juniper and gin!) chypre, slightly soapy. Very gender neutral, but definitely a clean chypre for the men folk. Good throw and wear length.

Silken red musk, black leather accord, patchouli, Malaysian oudh, cardamom, and vetiver. Clean black leather, musk, touches of oudh. This one has a very clean woody smell laced throughout, and on the drydown I get a shot of cardamom. It's a very refined black leather. Medium throw and wear length.

Leather, black incense, cypress, tree moss, and patchouli. Black leather, cool cypress wood, and a whiff of incense. This one is like a refined DeSade. It's cool, slightly piney, black leather. Medium throw and wear length. I find most black leather scents to be somewhat chemically and in your face. This one is much more subdued, but probably more potent because its got such a leashed intensity. This is the magic of a dominant eye tracking your movements, in a way that doesn't make you feel unsafe but you are being noticed and watched.

Come slowly—Eden Lips unused to Thee— Bashful—sip thy Jessamines As the fainting Bee— Reaching late his flower, Round her chamber hums— Counts his nectars— Enters—and is lost in Balms. – Emily Dickinson Yellow jessamine gilded with amber, copoiba balsam, apple peel, beeswax, wild fig, sage honey, and champa. This is a really well blended blend in that I get beeswax, fig, honey, hints of jasmine and champa, but it ends up as a sexy musky blend. In fact, my two words used to describe this blend are "sexy musk". It's got a medium throw, and good wear length. But yeah, this is your skin on sex.

Golden amber and lotus blossom, cherry blossom and white teak, mallow root and wildflower honey. Marshmallow, honey, touches of cherry blossom and amber. This one is a grown up sexy marshmallow smell. It's sweet, seductive, and naughty. Medium throw and wear length.

Green tea, white oudh, cedar, green mandarin, frankincense, bois de rose, and honey. I get mainly green tea, mandarin, frankincense with a touch of honeyed rose. It's actually a beautiful, refined tea blend. It's more of a skin scent than anything, but gorgeous. And hey, oudh isn't a huge monster for me on this.
-
Golden amber, apple-crushed oudh, blackened apricot, sweet musk, saffron, neroli, and gilded leather. Apple oudh and neroli on wet, and then I get the oudh, apricot, musk on a leather background. Monster throw while on wet thanks to the apple oudh. Oudh is not my friend.

White and yellow roses, violet silk, Himalayan cedarwood, mandarin, white musk, carnation, and dried red currants. I'm actually surprised at how lovely this is. I get tender pale roses, touch of violet, musk, and whiffs of both carnation and red currants. The overall effect is a silken floral, very elegant and regal. This is like draping yourself in a silk kimono - its rich, luxurious, and beautiful in an understated way. Absolutely stunning.

Pink grapefruit, yuzu, pink pepper, ambergris, and seafoam. Not sure how I feel about this one. It's grapefruit and ambergris with a bit of something briney in the background. I'm grateful that the seafoam didn't go in the direction most aquatic notes go, meaning it usually smells like rot/decay on my skin. The seafoam note actually smelled like distant sea water. I didn't detect any pink pepper which is disappointing because I feel the pink pepper would've kicked the scent up a notch. I think I need to retest after a little while and see if the pink pepper comes out and how it changes the scent. Right now the scent is nice but a bit dull.

Ginger lily, bergamot, white tea, lily of the valley, osmanthus, and melon blossom. At first this was a lovely, fresh lily scent with a dab of tea. Once it dried down it turned to soap. A nice floral soap but still...soap. Disappointing since I really loved the beginning stage.

Patchouli and green apple with pink pepper, matcha tea, blackcurrant, lemon peel, and cacao. I bought this out of sheer curiosity. I was like wtf is that gonna smell like. So many things going on. 2.5/5 for me, but based personal opinion. Wet: Kinda gross to be honest. Very strong witch hazel smell. Dry: Matcha and Cacao come out. I don't get any Green Apple. No Lemon Peel or Blackcurrant. And maybe a little bit of Pink Pepper but not spicy. 1 hour dry down: A light white musk. Not much there. Dies very quickly on me. 2 hour: Spicy matcha Pink pepper. I was sitting at my computer smelling some then realized it was the bpal. ~Daddy

A spontaneous impulse: sparkling lemon verbena, apple pulp, white ginger, and champagne. Well what do we have here. A 10/10 scent. This is a BIG winner. Everyone in the family loves this scent. I think i will have to get a back up bottle. Also really want to try more of "The Hearthstone and the Heat" Collection. Wet/Bottle: Lemon bubblegum. Not flowery Dry: Lemon fresh scent but doesn't smell like a typical lemon cleaner scent. I don't get any Apple pulp, I think it mixes with the Champagne and adds sweetness. No Flower still. Long dry down: After a few hours i smell light lemon floral. Nothing to strong. Definitely get a least a decant of this if you can. Highly recommend. ~daddy

Ink, white moss, and rose petals. In the bottle Dark, deep moss with something darkly floral. But mostly moss. And definitely an ink note. Wet on skin True to my skin chemistry's form, I get a luscious, red rose note as soon as this touches my skin. But it works beautifully with the moss and inky darkness. This is not a dark scent, per se. It's lovely. Dry on skin after 30 minutes The rose fades a little bit into the background and this smells a lot more like the ink and moss. Not woody, really, but more green and almost like very fine paper and ink with flower petals and greenery. It has a nice throw, and the overall scent has not faded. Thoughts This makes me think of a fancy lady writing a letter with a fountain pen, expensive ink, and expensive paper, then spritzing her finest perfume on everything before sealing the envelope. Unexpected and beautiful. Really glad I went for a full bottle.

The membrane enclosing the heart: white sandalwood and rice milk shimmering with sheer vanilla, white amber resin, frankincense, and a drop of sweet clove. This smells very smooth in the bottle, sweet woods. On, this immediately brings to mind Liz but without the pepperyness or the smoldering smoke. I'm getting more of the vanilla and amber, and less of the milk and smoky frankincense. The clove, if present, truly is just a little drop since I'm not getting a very strong spicy vibe. This stays very close to the skin, and does have light throw, but it's silken smooth, and remains a non-foody vanilla floating over a dry, medium weight sandalwood. I'll have to give it more wear time.

He lifted his head from his drinking, as cattle do, And looked at me vaguely, as drinking cattle do, And flickered his two-forked tongue from his lips, and mused a moment, And stooped and drank a little more… Snake Oil with caramelized tobacco, davana, black amber, bourbon vanilla absolute, ambergris accord, oakmoss, and CO2 extract of oak wood. This one is so very quiet. In the bottle, all I can detect is some distant, indistinct resins. On my skin, the familiar Snake Oil base comes out. The other notes sort of peep through, then recede quickly. It's mostly a dark, extra-resinous, rich Snake Oil right now, with the oak, tobacco, etc. stepping in and out-- they're present, but elusive. I am thinking this needs a couple of weeks to settle into itself.

A pressure drop as a result of relaxation: French lavender, luminous Corsican juniper, benzoin, honeyed carnation, wild hops, and blue musk. Very much a beautiful lavender when wet. I anticipate this would be an excellent bedtime scent. After it sits for a while, I'm getting a bit of that rich slightly sweet resin from benzoin, but it's just a hint. The carnation is a delicate white whisper in the background, just enough, without being too flashy. I love carnation. There's a bit of a hoppy/herbal backdrop from the juniper and hops together, grounding it a bit. I think the blue musk (which generally evades my detection but is present) is lending an ethereal whisper glow to the whole blend. It's so elegant and restrained! TKO for me is nice but often too sweet, this seems a nice alternative. Going to give it some wears, including bedtime. If this helps me drift off to sleep... there may be multiple bottles of this in my future...!

[No additional description provided.] Fresh from the Lab, this one is overwhelmingly rice in the bottle and on application. And specifically basmati rice. It's a very rich, savory grain smell. On the skin, the champaca comes out, and, to a much lesser degree, the honey. Moments after application, the savory and the floral/sweet are warring with each other, not quite meshing. As time wears on, the honey comes out more, and the rice decides to stop screaming, but that savory note is still there. It seems to be settling into center-stage champaca, with the other notes balancing and supporting. This one has a lot of throw. Beware-- that rice is STRONG at first. Edit: This is the first scent that my partner has physically recoiled from. The champaca is going very ammonia/urine-like on my skin. Edit 2: In the end, this scent was all heavily buttered popcorn and ammonia on my skin. Traded it away.

Coconut foam, Siamese benzoin, Himalayan cedar, translucent petals, lilac milk, and mallow. From the bottle, this smells buttery, coconut, marshmallow. I'm excited. Fresh on, this is milk, chewy, syrupy coconut milk, with the benzoin adding a bit more depth to the foodiness. I'm really looking for the lilac or petals... but am not really finding either. It's settling into a very rich, dense, marshmallow/vanilla resin scent, with a little sprinkling of coconut. Hrm. Either the flowers are so well blended that they're hard to find, or perhaps this is more about the foodier notes. It's still very potent, and would please coconut lovers and marshmallow lovers.

Nor should you wonder at all these things which are natural to women, and are particularly expected of the condition of virgins; because of retention of the sexual fluid, the heart and surrounding areas are enveloped in a morbid and moist exudation: this is especially true of the more lascivious females, inclined to venery, passionate women who are most eager to experience physical pleasure; if she is of this type she cannot ever be relieved by any aid except that of her parents who are advised to find her a husband. Having done so the man’s strong and vigorous intercourse alleviated the frenzy. She married an energetic young man, who, having discharged his marital responsibilities with vigor, she took to this with enthusiasm; under this appropriate treatment she flourished, revived, bloomed with the rosy shade of well-being, and was entirely restored to health. – Zacutus Lusitanus, Praxis Medica Admiranda, 1637 Lascivious females! Are you suffering from morbid, moist exudations? Restore your health and the rosy glow of well-being! Heady peach musk aglow with sugared amber. Moist exudations, indeed. This scent is somehow very humid. The peach musk is both peach flesh and the skin. There is no trace of the overly sweet peach gummy candy, here. I can detect the amber, but it is very much in the background. I think it will come forth more as it ages. This scent wears close to the skin, but isn't faint. I'm glad I went for the blind bottle.

Green tea, oakmoss, frankincense, mint absolute, and raw green patchouli. Definitely not what I was expecting, but marvelous. When I first sprayed this, the combination of notes read forward to me as 'Christmas?' 'Pine?' That probably was the oakmoss and tea together conspiring to make me dream of Yules. That burned off quickly though to reveal a very fresh, tasty mint. I think it's a combination of peppermint and spearmint, since it's not the sweetest pepperminty scent, but like the perfect butter mint, and then behind it is a swell of gritty, growly patchouli. A little smokyness from the frankincense, but not enough to launch it into incense territory, it's a very unique, cold, green, chewy, patchouli-mint. Yay!

Red musk and sweet golden amber with red agarwood, leather, labdanum, black tea, orris, and lavender. Wow! Well, this is definitely very, very leather-forward. It's the cool leather note, and when first spritzed, I swear it's almost a sprayable harness, hah hah! In all seriousness, there's a hint of the lavender present when you're smelling the top of the sprayer. When dispersed into the air, yes, leather is very apparent, but behind it is a very well blended warmth, although it's a bit of a stand-offish warmth, if that makes sense. The amber, musk and labdanum give a bit of support, but in no means do I get resinous from this at all. It's very sensuous, but also callous, in only the best way.
