    Springtime scents

La Vita Nuova - it's just so fresh and clean without being dryer sheet-y L'Inverno (weird yes, but it works) - it's light and on me, there's a sweetness that's just awesome Harikata - just plain honey goodness! Fae - bright and fruity without being cloying Les Bijoux - again, light, fresh, and sweet (though, i must admit, it's more of a spring-to-summer scent, rather than a winter-to-spring one)

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

V (5) in the bottle: sweet, a tiny bit herby, a tiny bit spicy and ... uh, maybe something like sassafras? kinda like those gummy cola bottles. this oil seems thick, almost syrupy....and, is in fact slightly sticky/tacky and has left a tinted trail on my skin (or, maybe i just slathered too much in my excitement. totally possible) wet on skin: mmm...gets a tad sweeter but wait..,is that the dreaded patchouli?! nnnooooo, it hates me so much! (and, why is it that you always amp the smells that don't work on you? or is that just me?) dry on skin: oh, the heaviness of the patchouli is calming down, while i'm still amping the "dirt" smell i always get, it's not crazy-over-the-top-hippie. it seems to be tempered and sweetened with the (possible) sassafras; it dries, surprisingly, into a really light scent. folks, this right here could be *the* patchouli blend for me. it makes me think of browns and oranges, a good scent for fall. (not a "this is what fall smells like" scent, just something i'd want to slather in, say, september/october/november). this was my first trip into Chaos, and totally worth it! edited b/c i had teh dumb due to being excited about my CT

    Quirkiest, most bizarre oils

I was so going to mention Schrodinger's Cat!! The mix of ingredients is a neat and unexpected mix - but it totally works. (In fact, i'm wearing it as i type; on me, it is such a great summer scent). And, i have to say, playing around with any and all scents is not only a blast, it can lead to some really surprising discoveries (like, who knew i would love and totally rock, resin-y scents?!) Have fun!

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

I, too, went in search of a perfect BPAL rose for my mom. She fell in lurve with Moon Rose. The only problem now, is that because she's aware of how other scents can be LE, she's afraid to use up all her oil. *sigh* (in a way, it's kinda cute). I even got Rose Red and The Peacock Queen for her to try, but nope, she's remaining totally loyal to Moon Rose. (Which, btw, is fine by me - more scents for me )

    Temperature and BPAL

I live in Canada, and it can get mighty, mighty cold some days! Almost every single bottle of my last Yule order arrived solid (i think one was semi-liquidy), and they all thawed just fine. Also, all of the bottles themselves survived - even the imps. (and i was too impatient to do the whole "let it thaw slowly" business - i tore that sucker open thisfast. i think they'll be fine).
