I'm a silly billy of sorts, what is an IGI?

You’re just new here! IGI is “I Got It!” and if it’s a big swap, like 13 nights of Halloween where you open gifts daily for nearly two weeks, there would be a separate IGI thread to post photos and rave about your goodies. But since we’re a small swap, we can do that here — which I hope to see soon!

Are we posting in this thread for IGIs ??

I also am behind, geez these health and work and life stress issues just snowball

Yes, since we’re a small swap, let’s post our IGIs here. I’m behind too — don’t let the swap stress you out. You know I give extensions ; )

  3. In the tiny decant bottle this smells like my local metaphysical store. On my skin it’s a musky tobacco and patch sweetened by the vanilla, with the slightly dusty saffron and amber. I’m not really picking out any nutmeg, and the rose geranium which can be overwhelming on me is gentle and herbal. This seems really classic BPAL to me. You could wear it on a date or to pull tarot cards on your couch. I really like this one.

  4. I'm so sorry for the delay in posting -- what a box!!!

Such bounty!!!  Two scarves -- the daisy one for whimsy, the sage green one will also keep me warm. Love leggings to light up the yoga mat and nail polish to match. So much tea which I will use every day.  So appreciated! Two jars of jam, sour cherry and apricot cumin. With both kids home now I cannot keep jam in the house so I am hiding these lest they be devoured without my even tasting them. Dark chocolate with candied ginger, Italian bonbons, a shower steamer, some face masks (my daughter will probably use most of these, she loves them). Then the jewelry! A big statement necklace, totally me, and the orange beads are so fun and lightweight, they're definitely going to Italy with me this summer. Likewise the little lipstick! Some fun earrings (including the most 80s earrings I have ever seen -- I may do a talk on postmodern architecture just so I can show them off), a terrific brooch with a cat and a fishbowl, and three rings, the jewelry item I have least of. I wore the elephant ring to the museum Thursday evening -- love! Then, the piece de resistance -- the shoes! How could you bear to give these up? I will admit they're a tad big, but they're super comfortable. I have big chunky socks I wear with my Doc Martens and I think they'll work perfectly. So much fun stuff, so exciting! Thank you so much, @Thuy!!! You were again a perfect match!!!!!:wub2:

  5. Notebooks -- I am a sucker for a new notebook though I have so many. Lined, unlined or dot grid are all usable for me but like Thuy I need the paper to stand up to heavier ink.

I love lavender in body products.

Fuzzy scarves in non-itchy natural fibers always get used in my world.

I would love any of my wishlist BPAL in a lotion. If I had to pick one GC, Golden Priapus. Or Lights of Men's Lives.

I love dogs, seals, badgers, hedgehogs, corvids, chickadees, most animals really

No thanks for oracle deck -- I've never used the one I have.  Tarot, on the other hand....

  6. I think @lorizav has won every swap I've ever been in. And yes, I know it's not a competition.

Green tea blends?  Yes please. Not my everyday fare but occasionally.

Jigsaw puzzle? How many pieces? (for me, anywhere between 500 & 1000 -- 750 is my sweet spot but hard to find)

  7. The only anime I love is Witch Hat Atelier. But I do love fairytales and myth. My favorite fairy tale is Japanese, the old man with the lump on his face, and I also love the boy who drew cats. Favorite Greek myth is Baucis and Philemon. Favorite western fairy tale is Rapunzel, even though she's such an idiot. But I loved the art of a childhood edition we had.

I've been seriously mulling this in my mind, wondering if I have the health and stamina to take this on. I want to, but my mediums are limited right now to what I was able to unpack after the last move, and my work has gotten about 75% more demanding.

I could do textiles, wool fiber, or beaded jewelry.

Of course we would love to have you! But not if it's going to negatively impact your health. There's always another one on the horizon. Let us know what's best for you.

  9. As the days get longer, are your fingers itching to be creating?  Late spring seems like an excellent time to bring something new into being.  Let’s celebrate with a midsummer art swap.  🌻

Each participant will make a piece of summer solstice-themed art/craft to be mailed to their recipient. Any medium is welcome: textiles, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, wearable art, embroidery, photography, altoid tin diorama, Litha wreath, etc. The only restriction is that it must relate to the summer solstice and respect your partner's preferences on size.

This should be a low-cost swap if you already have the materials you need on hand. Also, it is just fine to play and experiment. Spring is a great time to try new things and stretch your creativity. Please be willing to squee in this thread when your art arrives and post a photo if at all possible!

Sign-ups open until April 8 or until 14 participants have signed up, whichever comes first. International participants welcome. Matches will be made April 10.  SHIPPING DEADLINE WILL BE JUNE 1ST for international shipping, JUNE 10 for domestic.  That should give us nearly two months for crafting.

Please PM me this questionnaire if you'd like to join our swap. As with all swaps, we can ask more specific questions of each other once matches have gone out.

Anything else you'd like your partner to know?

    For my eyes only:

Are you able to post a photo?  (This is not a rule-out – if you can’t, I will pair you with someone who can and ask them to photograph their work before mailing.)

Is there anyone you would NOT like to be matched with?

Anything else you'd like the admin to know (will be kept private)?

I would be SO down for an art swap. I haven't really been able to participate in any of the swaps for a while with the who unemployment thing but I could definitely do an art one!

Oh no, I didn't realize you were out of a job. I'm so sorry! It is such a hard time to be looking for work right now. But I'm psyched that you're down for an art swap because you always make something amazing!!! I'll get the questionnaire posted and try to round up the usual suspects.

  11. Wet the scorched note is prominent, and it smelled alternately like scorched clove, scorched cedar, and Dead Leaves on Fire from 2020. This settles down fairly quickly into a skin scent on my late middle aged skin. It’s a pleasant if subtle balance of clove, cedar wood, and DL. I like it, but there are so many weenies I love…

  12. 2025 Bats of LA version. Lemony white tea with ginger and bergamot. I don't get much bourbon or any incense, unfortunately. It's nice but kind of simple. Medium wear length. I'm happy I got to try it, but I'll pass it on.

  13. Brick Snek definitely has neroli, because I amp neroli and this is basically a neroli fest on me. It eventually settles into a softer orange blossom and brick melange. I get hardly any snake oil at all from this. Skin chemistry fail.

  14. How did I miss this duet? These are two of my favorite notes, and they combine beautifully on me. I do get how people are reading a soil note in the opening, and the tobacco is as sharp and cologne-y as @doomsday_disco says (cologne-y is not a negative for me -- my tastes definitely run to the unisex), but it settles in with the beeswax which is not a honey note on my skin but something distinct, much less sweet, and the whole thing is just lovely, and it lasts a long time.

  15. I think had originally bought this for my daughter, but it was too sweet for her and I ended up with it. But I'd never reviewed it or even really tested it. Lola Lee Loo is indeed very sweet, reminding me of the pink notes of Poor Monkey (I was thinking that was pink fig but I just looked it up -- didn't we see a pink fig note somewhere not too long ago?). The clove and patchouli never develop on my skin, perhaps because this doesn't last long on me at all. It's soft and cozy while it's there, but I'm jealous of the people who got hours of wear from this one. It will be going on my swap list.
