    Serving Tea After Coitus

Normally when there's a "honey" note, it's honey with qualifiers. This smells like real, thick, swirled in, actual honey. I can definitely smell the flower out of the vanilla flower, there's a light floral note to this, and maybe that light fleshy flower petal pollen is what's adding to the gorgeous, real honey smell. It melds mildly and wonderfully with the sharp and sweet green tea (a similar sourness to a crisp bite of green apple). I think the plum adds a very mild hint of white sugared fruit. If you like a rounded green tea, and the smell of jars of honey, this one is beautiful and worthwhile. My favorite so far! Yum!

    Sloth

Is this the same scent? Starting off it was pretty generic incensey, then drying down it immediately became this soft, sweet, really nice light thing. Like a warm vanilla ice cream. On my other wrist, there is a bit of smokiness. Hmmm, I kind of, I think I like this. Very strange. Not dark or vegetative or heavy or molassesy at all.

    Queen of Sheba

Definitely almonds. Something about this reminds me vaguely of a cherry-vanilla-almond cookie, but if someone had melted it down into a syrup. Big, crispy, reddish almonds. Okay, but a little sharp.

Absolutely love the beautiful milky creamy coffee smell. Like a french vanilla coffee brew. Under it, however, is a chemical wooden desk smell. Just like if you stuck your nose onto your 3rd grade school desk. Thematically, it works. As far as something I want to smell, no thanks. The sweetness just amplifies the sharpness, which in turn sours the sweetness. Sad. I'll keep an eye out for other coffee brews, though.

    October

Starts out with wet and green grass, definitely an outdoors smell, with a bit of cologne. Maybe a smidge of smoke in the background. Very sweet, planty, almost floral but not quite. Settles down to something sweet, pleasant, almost aquatic?

    Dragon's Hide

Smokey musky husky skin, with a drop of satisfying juicy red sweetness.

    The Lights of Men's Lives

From the reviews, I was hoping for rich, honey, smokey, vanilla, foody goodness, and to maybe divine the mystery of what exactly "candle wax" smelled like. This was none of those things. At first blush, acrid. Medicinal. After the sharpness went away (and I was....sort of glad to see it go? Not that the replacement was much better) Heavy, floral, musky, and chemical. Like a musky cotton ball that's been dipped in some kind of light purple?-colored flower powder. After four hours, so much powder. I could probably powder my face with the bottle. My skin is not friends with this.

Wet: Sandalwood with a little bit of a creamy milkshake orange-banana? Because of the creaminess, this sandalwood to me sort of smells like...suntan lotion? So, orange-banana suntan lotion. Dry: More orange.

    Sherlock Holmes

Fresh, clean, and completely perfect. I was nervous about my first anatomy course and this saw me through the day with a bright (a bit masculine) intellectual bearing. Cool sweet aftershave. Like the above poster, I find this incredibly well-blended, difficult to describe, and a keeper that is amazing for daily wear. Warning: It's very light, very, very, perfect, and very sensitive to other blends. I tried this another day without having washed off the previous day's sample from each wrist...soured/berried thanks to one, and got completely eaten by the gingerbread from other. Probably best with a clean slate or at least a planned pairing. Edit: Let me say further, even though it's still new, this is one of my favorites, and may be the best blend that I've tried, period. Maybe a Holy Grail. After this bottle runs out, I'll get another. This belongs on the "best of" and "masculine" imp set staples. It is pleasant, smooth, agreeable, and a great experience from bottle to the very last stages of dry down. If you like gender neutral/masculine scents (or have an friend/SO who does), get a hold of an imp.

    Gingerbread Poppet

2007 Wanted to try this since I fell in love with Gingerbread Sin, but Sin and Poppet are different animals. I miss you, amber. The Gingerbread is great, but the back up choir is a loud Red Hots candy cinnamon (when I'd hoped for crushed up brown sugary baking cinnamon.) Drying down it goes faint fast. Definitely spicy red christmas candle.

    Haunted

Ahhhhh amber, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Starts off a little lime-lemony for me, but once it settles down it's a thousand kinds of perfect. Mmmmm. All amber, all the time, amber you and I are really good pals okay. It's just a smidge muskier/sweeter, but I think I like this even better than the amber in The Lion. Edit: Got some Haunted Bonbon straight from a decanter, and fresh (?) it turned straight to powder. Just right to powder. Also got some additional Haunted decants, and one of them also...right to powder. Did my skin chemistry change? Does new/aged make a difference? Does the weather outside, or the heat of my skin? Help because Haunted done right is sooooooo good, and when it's not working it is soooo...powder.

Beautiful and familiar! Mostly freesia with a bit of melon, I think, but tempered by the amber and greenish-smells. Fresh this is a really cute, nice scent without being too sweet. Definitely makes me think of spring and summer. I usually like warm/spicy/wood scents and veer away from fresh/citrus/floral, but I could wear this regularly. As it's drying down, it does get more salty-aquatic.

    Akuma

Without knowing what was in this, I splashed some on my wrist. At first I got a dark, bitter, maybe rotten orange. Not as nice as the citrus from Azathoth, which was a warm mulled spiced tangerine. Then...I couldn't believe it. It changed to perfume-soaked cigarettes. Like if your grandmother smoked and wore chemically perfume and had a big flower-patterned couch, and you sat on that couch. That's what it smelled like. I was disappointed because I was like, if this is the lab's tobacco/smoke note we are not going to be friends. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the notes list! I can see the grape-flavored tylenol a smidge, it's turned a little more fresh/fruity, sort of, but still that perfume-cigarette note hanging out beside it and smothering it. I'll wear it to the bitter end but this was not my jam.

Hmmm, at first application I'm not getting what everyone else is getting out of this, but my nose has zero sophistication. Maybe after all the heavy-spice incense foody snappy blends I'm missing it, but wet I can't smell any spice at all. This is a very soft, light, perfume thing. Maybe a bit of floral. Maybe a bit of vanilla. Ahhhhh, it's drying down, there's the warm hint of spice maybe. A bit foody, like cinnamon. It's so faint I don't know if I'm hallucinating it. Sometimes I can pick it up, and sometimes I can't. Definitely not in-your-face-spice blend, like I thought it was. Just a slightly warmer soft floral/vanilla. Very pleasant, soft, and completely inoffensive. Quite nice, if very light.

    Santo Domingo

An exotic, sultry blend of tobacco leaf, bay rum and heady Caribbean blossoms. Gingery and citrusy, it's almost like a slightly foodie-spice cologne. Like an orange tobacco ginger cookie? Really good, I quite like this one. Does go a bit soapy on me, which is a shame, because minus the soap it's completely delicious.

    Goblin

Right on my wrist it's a sweet cinnamony(?)-bready smell that I loooove. I can tell why the lab mixed this with gingerbread in the Yules this year. This disappears after the first couple seconds though, and I'm left with a heavy old undergrowth soil wood planty patchouli (which I'm not sure I like) with a drop of sweetness. Strangely, I can catch occasional whiffs of that first delicious smell when my nose is nowhere near my wrist, and smell it strongly if I hold my wrist a couple of inches away from my nose. Buried in my wrist, however, the smell is back to that dark patchouli. Dried down it's more balanced with the coconut, and +sweet. Unfortunately, still too much patchouli for me.

    Strawberry Sufganiyot

This is exactly like a strawberry jam-filled doughnut. There is no difference. Buy this perfume, or buy a strawberry doughnut and smear it on your wrist. It's got the cakey dough, the sugar, that exact jam smell. Like opening a fresh box and taking a bite. Amazing. edit: Putting this on my bottle list, since when friends and family come over I always reach for it. Try this!

    Spirit Board

Excellent. The rose and tea are everything I could have hoped for. If redwood and lilac are contributing to this beautifully balanced and just-right thing that is happening, I am all for it. My skin and black tea are made for each other. Perfect and delectable.

    Psychodynamic Discharge

Didn't care too much for this one. Putting it on was a pretty loud, confusing experience, like having a snarling red and black monster on my wrist. Once it settled, it was like a lady dressed in red (the musk?) with a background of something intriguing. Too much lady for me, and I'm not sure what I thought of the monster either. Still, a very distinct perfume.

    The Fox Sisters

First application is all rose. Maybe too much rose. Then the apple starts to pick up, and its a nice, blended, pleasant surprise. A soft, pretty, friendly apple. When the apple shines through, the smell is perfect. A lot of hours in, it's a beautiful rose. When I search, I can find maybe a hint of apple cider and wood. I could use some more apple, but I really like it.

    Vital Fluid

It starts out with a sharp almost...persony/animalistic skunkish smell on me, under that there is something woody that's nice but the sharp smell- ack. Even though there's no frankincense? Everything I don't like about frankincense. Definitely disappearing and calming down. Becoming nicer now, sweet mellow... And then that Frankincense/skunk is there to stay. Maybe I just don't get along with incense. Behind it there's a hint of something sweet and nice but I can't get past that overlay. Not for me.

    Gingerbread Sin

Lives up to the hype. Sexy christmas cookie is dead on. The wet, dry, and throw are all A+. This is the smell I wanted to wear Christmas day. Warm, spicy, sweet, everything I could have hoped for. I forgot how good, big, and 3D Gingerbread could be. This is full and mmmmm, hours later my nose is still glued to my wrist. NEED a big bottle. Edit: After a little more nose education (ie I tried The Lion) I know what that DELICIOUS smell is. Cinnamon AMBER, you the REAL MVP. This is a match made in heaven, I can not contain my enthusiasm about this scent.

    A Measurement of the Soul

Wow, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I love this! Really good. Wet: Even though this isn't a yule-yule scent, it reminds me of walking into a really delicious christmas store that makes hand-carved wood things. I had no idea what fig smelled like. The fig is great. Sort of a yummy sweet-spicy layered over faint and good wood. Gradually melts down to a softer, quieter version of itself.
