    Pumpkin V (2007)

This is a nice one, though I suppose it's not fair to always go chasing the lovely Queen of Pumpkins and expect everyone to smell the same. It's a 'rounder' smelling pumpkin scent than the Queen (probably benzoin and vanilla?) and quite likable for my money.

    The Perilous Parlor

The pear doesn't last on me, which is a disappointment, but it is a lovely, albeit incredibly delicate, smell. a whiff of pear which vanishes almost immediately, leaving a sweet soft vanilla breath against my skin. Of course I'm buying bottles because it's so angelic.

    Bonfire Night

Very 'dark' smoky ashen smell combined with what dries down to be just enough molasses sweetness to make this one nice, though not the type of scent that works well on me. Worth trying, I would say, for everyone.

    Midnight Kiss

It seems that the BPAL wine note is not a good one for me. It amps so hard that all I end up with is the cocoa (which is very nice) and some vaguely winelike smell (same as happened with Urd to some extent.) Sigh.

    October

Lovely fresh green plants when wet. Almost men's-cologney when dry but if I smell carefully, it has a very faint smoke-spiciness (as opposed to, say, the 'reddish' spiciness of Samhain... darned synaesthesia.) This will be a two-bottler, for sure, as all of mine so far has gone to a male friend.

    Mr. Ibis

When I was little my mom had a bottle of Jovan White Musk oil (I wouldn't swear to the name, but the brand is for sure) and this is nearly a dead ringer. Other posters' descriptions are probably more informative but since she always used to put it on me to comfort me when I had a nightmare, I have to have a bottle for those times-- the hypothetical future children will have old Ibis guarding their dreams.

    TKO

First off, it smells lovely. Fresh, soft but pronounced lavender on the inhale-- wet, the 'marshmallow' (my mother said it was like a sweet baked-dough smell) comes out on the exhale, which is a nice meditative touch. In with the lavender, out with the sugary-softness, and when it dries it's like a sweet, well-rounded marshmallow dough with lavender mixed in. I certainly haven't been having trouble sleeping since I used it first!

    Tamamo-no-Mae

I didn't find this to be fruity or creamy, and it's very hard to describe-- Felt that Beth's description of the courtesan summed it up perfectly. It is a gentle, sweet, sexy/demure blend-- I don't even really get the ginger... it's just the perfume I wear when I want to feel like the most desirable gal ever. Oh, Tamamo!

    Krampus

Wow. Ah, this one's really... primal. Starts out with... men's cologne? patchouli?, quickly progresses to an herbal unlike any I've ever smelled, and acquires this gritty hardness that... well.

    All Souls

Sweet-incensey, not curranty (unlike, say, MB:Closet) and not pleasant on my skin- almost dusty and sharp. Unfortunately not my style; I had high hopes for this one.

    The Castle

I do smell some herbal notes complicating this blend, but the bottom line is I can't wear dragon's blood; it overwhelms anything it's paired with which, on me, is not a pleasant scent.

    Swank

Smells a lot like satsumas to me, and I do get the sort of clear-booziness. Very strong, very bright. Generally not my type of scent, but I'll keep it and see how I feel about it in a week or so.

    All Saints'

Dang it. Rose. Straight-up rose with maybe a hint of something greener underneath (could just be rose stems, a la Rose Red.) It's very pretty, but not for me.

    Pumpkin Queen

Initially I get a lot of citrus (orange peel and mandarin) though in the imp it is very rich-pumpkin smelling. The cardamom comes through really true and that, for me, is a very good thing. I'm glad this doesn't pull a Jack on me (craft store/Glade air freshener)- it is true and attractive and I shall be getting myself a bottle.

    Creepy

In the imp: the heavy caramel. Whooooa caramel. On my skin wet: instantly lightens to a light apple (as opposed to a cidery apple like Punkie Night) with a bit of rich sweetness. The caramel/butterscotch (I don't discern rumminess) comes out more as this goes along. Very nice.

    Lyonesse

A soft, vanilla/golden scent with just a twinge of something woody that comes out more strongly as it dries. Lovely.

    Al Azif

Soft and pleasant with a sharp almost sour bite, very faint, at the top. I'll keep it to see how it ages.

    Alone

A hectic, frenzied pinpoint in desolation: booming, bleak, and dark with the horror of loneliness and reluctant solitude. Patchouli and cardamom with bright mandarin, labdanum, muguet, red sandalwood, angelica and gardenia. I get a burn on applying it, and a spicy cardamom that can't miss. Must have a bottle.

    Miskatonic University

It is initially a rich, caramel-coffee scent that dries down to a buttery-sweet smell that really does have a bit of the dusty tome note. Maybe some faint wood. I like it.

    Trick #2

Pine pitch and tobacco leaf, with berries and a bit of sweetening fruit. It's beautifully blended and evocative of a forest without the harsh sharpness of most 'forest' scents.

    Loviatar

The Finnish Goddess of Agony, Torment and the joy found in inflicting pain on others. The Mistress of Torture, she has transformed in the modern era into the patron Goddess of Dominatrixes. The slap of slick, hot leather punctuates the warm, sensual embrace of black amber, red musk and dark, lascivious myrrh. I'm with the people who mention 'band-aid' and 'artificial' in conjunction with this scent. I wish I knew what made perfumes smell like band-aids, because I'd avoid it forever. De Sade is a gentler (though more simplistic) leather, Doc C. has a more natural leather smell... I'm not sure what it is about this one. ETA: lab description.

    Silk Road

It does seem complex. Initially much too cinnamony, though a more subtle, non-red-hot cinnamon. Add in some faint wood, a graininess and that whiff of almost-pickle and you've got it. I like it, so I'll keep the imp and see how it works with me.

    Incantation

I didn't find it dark, and I also didn't get the motor oil smell I got last time I tried a vetiver scent. Whew! It's sweet, light, a nice herbal that doesn't venture into the sharp and medicinal territory I've been disappointed by on too many occasions. Not really my style, but still lovely to smell.

    Litha 2006

Getting a sweet, sharp lemon (verbena) smell above all else, a bit of honey mead underneath. Dries down to a light, more appealing warmth. Need to try this one at a different part of my cycle... it is very pretty.

And There Was A Great Cry In Egypt

Very warm... initially sharp (probably the musk or cypress or both?) but deepened to a gentle, amber/frankincense scent with the ambience of chocolate some people have mentioned. It was very interesting. I'm glad I tried it!
