Oh this looks like lots of fun. I'm on the fence about joining because I too have a lot on my creative dance card right now. I'm prepping for my first con in May! Exciting but also very busy

One of my favorite scents!

Bottle sniff: Just dripping in rich cherries and mahogany wood

applied: The cherry shows up very prominently at first...this fades a bit as it settles into my skin but still lots of cherry 

wet: the woody smells come on stronger over time but I still get lots of cherry. Not a huge amount of throw which I like since some scents my husband can't be around. 

Absolutely love this perfume and it's a good one for everyday use.

Dark Alice and skyelyric have committed to hosting tacky ornament, which is kind of a Yule swap. And I’ll put up a winter card swap next month.  

Oh good I haven’t missed tacky ornament swap! Whew! I haven’t had the bandwidth for swaps this year but the tacky ornament swap is my favorite! 

@aphrodisms Well it would have to be a US only for a "Stuff a Flat Rate Box" swap since they are only available for US domestic mail. Though I'd also just be down for a general Art Supply Swap too 😊

@Lucchesa & @doomsday_disco What about a Suff a small flat rate box Art/Art Supply Swap in the future? That could be fun and non-season specific

@Lucchesa Sorry I completely fell off the face of the earth. I can't believe the last time I posted was a month and a half ago. Which answers my question of should I run or co-run any swaps right now... no... I just don't have the bandwidth right now. Though I'd love to co-run an art swap with you sometime! Maybe something in Jan as that's my slowest time of year work & art wise.

Switch Witch usually gets started later and goes through November when it happens around autumn, and who knows if it will be held this year or not. 13 Nights sign-ups usually start next month, but I was thinking that maybe some people really don't feel they could do such a big swap this year and might want a smaller Halloween swap to participate in? Something like the 5 item book/socks/soap swap, only... not those items specifically. Like a trick, treat, smell my feet (but something nicely scented) sort of theme for those of us who wish to partake in Halloween goodness without going over budget? Would anyone be interested in something like this?

A fun small swap I used to do on Crafster was a "Stuff A Small Flat Rate Box" swap. There would be a theme for the swap and then try and see what all you can get into one small flat rate box. Only thing is it can only be USA only. I'm not able to run anything this year but they were always a hit if anyone else want to give it a go.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to steal anyone's thunder for swaps.    I was going to do a Spring swap but then just didn't have the energy or know when my Seattle trips were going to be for pre-op, but now I have two of those down and a good schedule for the rest (and a little bit of an income!) so bring on the swappy!!

I would participate in any of the above-mentioned swaps in a heartbeat.  I loved the summer vacation swap last year.  If no one wants to run it, I can co-host.  The summer camp swap also sounds awesome -- @spookygrrrly do you have any of the paperwork for it, as a framework to build on?  

I could have sworn I answered this thread two days ago. I must have forgotten to hit send or something... oh well. It would be super fun to co-host a swap with you but it looks like there is already a bigger swap ready to happen. Maybe I'll work on it over the year and next summer we could do a summer camp themed swap 😊

Though if you want to co-run an art swap sometime @Lucchesa I'd be down for that too. Just not this summer

I'd also be down with co-running a swap this summer. I really miss you all! The last couple of years have been a mess and a half for me but I'm finally on the other side of it. I think the only swap I've been in the last two years was the tacky ornament swap. 

Ages ago I participated in a "summer camp" themed craft swap that was so much fun! Maybe we could have a witch camp swap where we send each other summer camp "care packages"? 

@VioletChaos Thanks for the description 😊 I love hearing about other people's altars because I find it interesting what other people put together/find meaningful. I can't say I've used Kyphi so not sure what that smells like. I'll need to see if they have it next time I go incense shopping. I'm always on the look out for good smelling things just on general principal

It would be themed along the lines of old world winter-time, and the crone aspect.  probably some artistic aspect, some creativity, writing, gifting...

 

I would love to join a winter crone swap. I just turned 46 and while I don't feel like I've truly hit "crone" status I do feel like I've been experiencing sort of a "crone-in-training" period.

So the past few years now we have Tacky Ornament, 5 days of Solstice/Yule (last year it was more beginning of new year), and 12 days of Christmas. I don’t mind hosting one but I can’t do 12 day of Christmas this year. I could do Tacky Ornament *or* Solstice/Yule if no one else was able/planning to host. Whatcha think?

Because of the US Mail situation and ....well all things 2020.... I just want to get the ball rolling to see if anyone is interested in Yule/Christmas swaps and if so what everyone is up for/able to do? I want to have some sort of Winter/Yule swap but have very, very low bandwidth right now so I need to plan far in advance these days. 

I know I need little moments of things that feel normal, and well basically reminders that not everyone sucks, and I know the holidays are going to be an emotional mind field in a much bigger way for everyone this year. I know for some people participating in the Winter Holiday swaps is already comes with a lot of baggage and the swaps rub it in for people like me it helps be that little light in the dark which reminds you why you try and fight so hard.

That does sound fun 🙂 I know I like Valentine's day...even when I've been single....just for the hearts, and cards, and all the red & pink...and of course chocolate. Since it looks like there will be interest I'll start planning and get back to y'all.

yesssss a valentine's day swap.  With sign ups soon so we have lots of time to craft and collect things on sales like black friday and boxing day.

You think sign ups should be this soon? I was thinking mid-late Dec for sign ups but I also need to look at a calendar and see how the dates work. I also don’t want to overlap with too many other swaps and over load people. Either way I need to think about how the swap would work and then see if there is interest.

The other thing I was considering was doing a Valentine’s Day swap. Where we exchange cards and a little care package. Something on the smaller side but still brings some love

Oh yay! I hope it gets approved too. I really like doing the 12 days of Christmas but we're a little tight financially going into the holidays this year and I'm trying to keep it really low key. I do love the Solstice swap. That is much more manageable for me.

Oh oh that sounds fun! I was beginning to wonder if the 12 Days of Christmas was happening this year. I like the idea of opening starting on the 25th too.

Is anyone planning on running any Yule/Christmas swaps this year? I’m trying to see what’s coming up before making too many commitments.

I plan to run the 13 nights of Halloween as usual but I usually get it started the last week of August, so it can wait till Em is back!

Yay! I can’t wait. I had a lot of fun with this swap last year and it was much less stressful than Switch Witch. Don’t get me wrong....switch witch was fun too but I didn’t completely realize what I was getting myself into lol
