    Drink Me

This is my daughter's beloved scent. And the imp we're using lately, which was an aged one from a forumite that was frimped to me/her (thanks so much), wants to spit on me every time. So, I guess I should do a review. Word of warning: I have a hard time with pineapple. This scent is SUPER strong on me. It's much more mellow on her, though. She starts off with a mix of pineapple and cherry. It goes nauseating pineapple and burnt brown sugar on me first, with a backdrop of the creamy custard. I don't know how it morphs on her since she's usually at school when she wears this. My morph becomes a custard and bread, with a faint meat background which makes me nostalgic for one of my favorite discontinued blends. By the time it's done, I'm left with a weak milky scent. She ends up with baby powder (whereupon it's bedtime anyway and she's taking a shower to get it off). Yeah, this has a long lifespan on both of us. I only really like one phase, but have a super hard time with the other two phases to make it worth keeping for myself. But, this is my girl's comfort scent. She loves it and cries whenever she sees it out of stock.

    Gelt

This is a review for the 2008 version. I got this second hand a couple of years ago from the forum, then this has been in occasional rotation every holiday season. This starts off a truly milk chocolate scent. It's like I'm sticking my nose in melting chocolate over the double boiler. From there, it goes to almost a brownie batter scent. Finally, it fades into a rosin bag powder on me. This scent lasts about two hours max on me. Happily, the longest are the chocolate phases. I'm so glad I have it, though, since it works wonders as a blending element when I'm wanting some chocolate in a scent.

    Baku

This is my go to sleep scent. I should add that I'm typing this while wearing it, again, and already getting drowsy. I've had this bottle for a while now and I really do like how it works. This starts off with a very stiff lavender. Right behind it is the punch of anise. The two seem to want to fight on me, but soon settle down. The lavender gets softer as it lingers. There's a tingly scent in the background after it dries, which I'm still arguing with myself about what it could be. This normally works well. I'll get most of the night's sleep out of this, only waking up once in the middle of the night if I drift into a dream state.

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Wait. Stop the presses! This has violets!?! Where? This is the first time I've worn something with violet listed as a note and I don't have violet doing it's two year old temper tantrum throwing fits on me. Seriously, I am in complete shock over this. It was a frimp from the lab and is pretty fresh. When it first goes on, it's a bright white floral. Yeah, the gardenia shows up first and wants to sing. It's a little annoying, but otherwise tolerable. As it dries, I get some spice from it, nothing fancy, but quiet spices. Then, we get the vanilla. This is a open the bottle of vanilla beans before making sugar with them scent. It stays there for the rest of the day. It has a long throw, but the biggest hit for me is that I finally found a violet that doesn't want to be a brat! I'm worried about aging it just in case the violet decides to show up later on. I like it fresh like this. More for the spice.

    Voodoo Lily

This is a simple scent for me. I do like it enough to finish the imp and really appreciate that it doesn't have much throw on me. Right as this goes on, I get a strong hit of lily. As it starts drying, I get spices. It's close to the spices I get with silk road. No, I'm not sure which ones those are either, but it gives the same vibe for me. Plus, it doesn't leave burns. Later, it's just a light cream scent with faint whiffs of lily and spice trying to peek out. Overall, it's a nice scent that I could see myself wearing from time to time.

    Voodoo

This is for both aged and fresh voodoo. I love both. My aged is so much more red than fresh. Fresh, I get more of a fresh bubbly feel, which I'm finally realizing is the lime blending with the almond and myrrh. Aged gets me much more of the myrrh and patchouli. Pretty soon, faster with the aged, I get the cola feel. I realize that must be the clove coming out. The aged lasts much longer than the fresh so that. I do get a patchouli and powdery feel from the myrrh and clove blending together. I really should buy a bottle to age some day in the future.

    The Phoenix At Midnight

I got this soon after it came out, when I still didn't know what I liked smelling. So, this has been sitting for a few years. I wore this without remembering what the notes were. When it first goes on my skin, I swore it smelled like cherries. Then, I got the musk coming out. The cherry scent stayed with me for about half an hour, turning it into smelling like a cherry coke. This was even feeling like the bubbles that come up. Then, it settled down with the musk fading to the backdrop and rosewood coming out. From there, it clung much closer to me and was nice to have on. The surprise for me was to read the notes later and am still trying to figure out how it smelled like cherry coke for a bit. The other surprise is that I never noticed the jasmine in this. No cat piss or poop smell came from this at any time. Yay! I may have to remember to wear this a lot more.

    Snap-Dragon-Fly

This is a frimp from the Lab. Part of me is wondering if I should age it to see if it gets at least a longer life on my skin. I'll try, I guess. This comes on my skin with plum. My brain says that it smells similar to the BPTP Plum Puddin'. As it dries, a smoke scent comes on me for a little bit, but that fades away. I end up with a faint bread (which must be the frumenty) trying iits hardest to show up on my skin. This lasts, at the longest, two hours on my skin. I''d run through the imp in a day if I kept reapplying. It is nice though. Perhaps give it some more time to rest in there.

    Somnus

The Lab gave me this imp, so I figured what the heck. My bottle of baku is currently missing and that is my regular sleep helping scent. Somnus knocked me out like my meds and had me as groggy the next morning. Yes, that's a good thing. This goes on with a nice medicinal lavender but quickly gets an addition of the infamous, on me, cat piss jasmine. The lavender keeps the cat pee smell from getting too bad, but it is a little noticeable. As it dries, a little rose tries to come out while I also get moments of lemon and I'm sure my nose was teasing me, eucalyptus. This is how it kept going until it dried and I finally fell asleep. When I woke up, it was gone. Well, I got a solid five hours sleep using this. So, I can probably deal with some cat pee, unless the cat starts coming by and annoying me about it. No noticing of dreams from the first use, but may get some with repeated usage.

    Bread-and-Butter-Fly

Reading the other posts, I was hoping, really desperately hoping, that this could fill the hole for my bready scent to love. Sadly, it doesn't quite hit it, but that's not its fault. Happily, though, it hits the tea scent I have been hoping for. So, here goes. Also, this was a frimp from my order that came in just last week. This scent starts of with the butter that everyone has been talking about. I don't really get a bread scent at all on my skin. It's not a bad scent that also carries quite a bit. As it dries, I get a fade to all black tea. This stays this way for the next few hours as it clings much closer to my skin. Not once do I get sugar or cream out of this. And there are no complaints from me about it. The only complaint I have is that it only lasts about four hours on me.

    Leather Phoenix

I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this yet. Bad me. Especially since I do remember typing up a couple different reviews of it. Well, here goes. This is one scent that I love enough to not wear much, but to sniff a lot. So, it has done very nice aging for me. Also, the throw of the scent has gone down considerably over the years, which allows for more personal huffing of the skin. When I put it on, there is a mix of the frankincense and cedar on my skin. Faintly in the background, the tea is trying to come out, but is dying. As I wear it, the patchouli comes out as a smooth and rich one, which wants to lead the leather along. This leather is a soft and gentle leather that has been broken in over some years. Perhaps the broken in part is the oude on my skin. It does that aged feel when it goes on my skin. Once it dries completely, this is all leather and patch. This also has lasted over a day, which I can still smell on my skin. I have to say that the aging has lessened all the flowers to almost nonexistence on my skin. I also can no longer smell them in my bottle. The other disappearance is the chemical note that used to come across with the leather when in the wet phase. I am not complaining about this at all. I still love this and will continue to enjoy the bottle as long as I can.

    Pumpkin Lace

This is a pretty fresh bottle for me. This is the first lace I've talked myself into buying. It's a really nice scent to me though. In the bottle, I get lots of pumpkin. It's rich and like you just opened up a can of pumpkin. When it goes on, I get that same scent, plus the cognac. It makes the pumpkin a little bitter. But, that doesn't last more than a few minutes thankfully. As it dries, it gets more the buttery and creamy pumpkin, which makes me think that the vanilla is trying to make a show of itself. That stays, but then the tobacco comes in and melds in like a spectre that can only be known when you are near it. Once completely dry, it has enough throw that others know that it's being worn, but it's mostly pumpkin from afar. You still need to get close to get the remainder of the scent. I'll definitely keep this in my pumpkin rotation until I finish this bottle. As I think about it, it reminds me a bit of last year's pumpkin series, V and one of the other ones mixing together.

    Smut

I have four versions of this. So, I'll post all three here as I wear them. I should add that my 2013 version is in my aging box as we speak, but it is almost time to do the yearly opening of the box to see how everything is doing. 2011 version I bought a decant of this from a forumite in a sale a couple of years ago. It is such a rich color, and still blended together nicely. I swear I smell cherry in there along with the red musk. I get this same situation when it first goes on my skin. This is a mellow, smooth red musk that creeps along the skin. The cherry is part of the wine scent, which is why it works on me. As it dries, there is more of the red musk and the sweetness is a nice bit of sweet, not foody sweet to me, but a gentle one. When it is completely dry, it ends up almost all red musk and sweet, in a not cloying way. 2015 version This is a bottle that I just got in. Unlike previous years blends, this one was immediately wearable. If I'm getting the length of wear this soon that I usually get with the other years' blends after they age a bit, I'm curious how much stronger and smoother it will get as it ages. This means, I get the same length of wear from this fresh as I do from both 2011 and 2012 (put my '13 back in the box without a review because I was not up to reviewing it but it still isn't as lasting as '11) now that they have a few years on them. This is a cherry and red musk blend on me. The booze is really not very strong when it first comes out. As it starts to dry, the cherry goes down quite a bit and there is a wine note, but I'm also getting another fruity booze note in there. That one stays completely in the background, but it seems to want to blend in there. Also, I'm getting more musks, not just red. It's wanting to throw a little dusting powder, which black musk does on me when it's fresh. But, there must not be much in it because it's very faint and in the background. Once it dries, it's all musks on me. Another good year's version.

    Krampus

This is for the 2012 version. I only have a decant of this because I thought it wasn't as good as it is now. In my decant, this is a very red musk/floral scent. It is really light there. On my skin wet, it turns to dusty whip leather. I love that part of the blend. As it dries, the dust settles as does the leather, which makes me a little sad because I like the first stage. This is when the red musk starts to come out. While the red musk is coming out, I also get the tease of wood, which I still need to do more testing to figure out. Once it's dry, though, it is all that soft floral red musk like I smell in the decant. This has much more throw while wet and drying than it does when it is completely dry. It does last around four hours before it completely disappears on me. I think aging did a wonderful job on this scent and hope we get another version this year for me to age for a couple more years.

    CD: Misfortune Teller v3

This bottle is one I've owned for three years now. It's taken me until the past couple of wearing to completely enjoy it. I'm not very good with the exact notes, but I am mainly getting vanilla, plum, and patchouli. I know there is red musk, but don't smell it prominently on me, though the oil is the color that red musk has on my skin. The vanilla is the same one that is in snake oil, I think. The three years have made this a much smoother bottle than the one I remember from the first use. The plum is a floral type of plum, not the dripping juicy fruit that it was in the past. It doesn't morph on me very much, but it does have a strong throw.

    The Apothecary

Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig. This is my most comforting scent. I wear this whenever I am sick, so I really haven't had much wear from it. It is very close to my skin, so it helps when I have a headache also. First on, this is similar to drinking a cup of herbal tea. It's a light blend of herbs that mesh together. As it starts to dry, it gets a soapy quality among the herbs. That stays in the back though, so it doesn't bother me. Almost makes me think of standing in my herb garden and I sprayed some dish soap on them to keep the bugs away. Once it's dry, it just gives a general clean scent to me. This scent doesn't have much of any throw on me, so nobody else even realises that I'm wearing it until they try to get close to me.

    Magus

I know I like resin blends. They normally play nice on me. This one is no exception. I got it as a lab frimp (or a post frimp, but either way) and will keep using this. When it starts, it is very sweet on me, but also a little hint of wood. Mostly, it is a sweetness that isn't sugary. As it dries, I mostly get fresh woods. For a couple of minutes, but not long at all, it's like breathing in mothballs. Then, it goes to a pretty fresh shaved woodshop scent. After a while, the herbs come out and mingle with the wood. This is a pretty close to me scent. I almost feel like I was in my grandfather's workshop, while everyone else was making the wooden windcatchers, towards the end of it's drying. It's a nice and quiet scent for me.

    Suck It (2014)

The decant I have is most likely from the original, but I can't be certain only because it doesn't have a date and, well, I didn't write when I got it. I have a bottle of the latest ordered as of today, so I'll add to this when I test that one. This scent is, on me, all red popsicle all the time. I can imagine the stickiness from it melting even. I don't get any brandy from it though this also does not last that long. Yeah, I know I'll need to keep a bottle handy of this when I'm feeling like wanting something sugary.

    Seraglio

I really do try to keep my thoughts positive when I'm trying perfume. This one just keeps having me go "it isn't right" in a disturbing, to me, way. So, here goes. And, no, I can not figure out why it bothers me. I want to like it, but I can't bring myself to wear it and enjoy it. On wet, I get lots of orange and soap. The rose is trying to amp on me, but can't. It's kind of a good thing, since this is the perfume rose that it's trying to do. As it dries, it gets a little spicier, which I actually enjoy a bit. I wish it would have stayed that way. Afterwards, it turns very powdery and rose. It reminds me a lot of rose dusting powder that is in the air. This is going to someone at work, since she's decided that the only problem with it is that is wasn't on her, so I know the imp will be loved until it is gone. It just isn't for me.

    Lawful

This review is solely as an oil warmer scent. I have allergic reactions to oak, so I'd rather not have blisters. I got this bottle a couple of years ago as a gift from the lab and have never reviewed it. Silly, bad me. So, without further ado. In the bottle, this is very strongly of oak. It almost wants to beat back the rest of the scents, but the chamomile is fighting for all it's worth to get out and be known. Once I get it heated a little, the oak starts to play much nicer and allow the others to come out. Then, I get the rhubarb being all fruity and excited. The chamomile is pretty soft now, but letting itself be known. Closer to the end of the burn (I do a two hour max on any oils I burn) the scent turns into the feeling like I am outside and sitting by a fire without the smoke. It's a warm woodsy and the grasses under burning and someone made some camper pies. It's the type of burning fire where you've got the fire going, but you still are burning the perimeter to make it a regular burn spot, so there's still the dirt and grass and such that needs to be scorched and you should keep an eye on it so it doesn't get too big. But, it's a good scent to smell, in my memories. I like it and really do wish I could wear it on my skin. I can only imagine how nice it would be.

    Smutty Goblin Hair Gloss

This is the first hair gloss that is almost overpowering on me. Happily, this comes out as a mist. Unhappily, it needs enough sprayed that it becomes almost TOO much sweetness for my nose. I will keep using it, but I'm worried the girl will use it more. SHE gets the smut scent. So, I'm getting a sweet, not really brown sugar, but more of a turbinado sugar with the tonka slaughtering any other possible scents. On the girl, it starts off completely all red musk, booze, and patchouli. (I am so lucky that the school did not call me about her wearing that) It faded to a gentle hint of sugary-ness and musk. And, this was from spraying one after the other. I also must say that this one lasts for a couple of days on both of us.

    Water Dragon

Well, I thought I'd reviewed this in the past. Must be time to make up for it. I should add that I'm wearing this on a cold day, so it lasts longer for me. It also smells different than it did in the summertime. I like both of them, but here goes for the cold half of the year. At the start, this is a very fruity scent on me. But, there is also a floral aspect to it. Meaning, I'm getting the citrus and the peony at the same time and it is blending nicely on me. As it dries, I get less of the fruit and more peony. It is almost a single note peony on me. There is also a faint, very faint, bit of orchid. Throughout the day, I mostly get whiffs of peony (will I stop trying to spell it as peopy?) and orchid but, the bamboo attempts to come out also. It is a very light scent as the day goes on. I do like this scent. I will add the hot version over the summer since I can't remember how to explain it right now and I lost my notes about it. This scent does last long and works well in my bottle of argan oil that I keep for my hair for winter.

    Vixen

I got this particular imp as part of my last trading post package. I have a couple of imps that are older, but I grabbed this one and wore it today, so this is the one I'm reviewing. I have no idea of the smell in the imp. I didn't sniff it before putting it on as I was going to work. It's too far away for me to sniff at the moment to get any impressions. When I first put it on, it was very light and floral. I kept realising that it was the orange blossom that was showing up. I also noticed the patchouli very faintly. It kept the orange blossom from going soapy, which it does on me normally. As I kept it on, I noticed that it was trying to get powdery, but the patchouli was still keeping it from going there. Maybe this is what I don't really like about the scent. Otherwise, it is very floral to me. But, it does last. It took all day of my hands being in and out of soap for it to get off of my wrists, but it still is going strong on my other points after nine hours. I think that the lack of ginger coming from this, plus the fight over whether or not it will go to powder, is why I don't like this as much as I would otherwise. I also have to admit that this patchouli is a lighter one, which can make me forget that I have one on. I don't see myself buying a bottle, but I will use any imps that come my way without too much concern.

    Chaos Theory Hair Gloss

LXIX This reminds me so much, both in the bottle and when I first squirt it on, of Loup Garou. The other thought is being deep in a evergreen forest. As it goes down, it starts making me reminisce of Jabberwocky. Almost like I had put loup on earlier and then swiped some Jabberwocky over the remnants. I really love this and will not share it. CVII This one is completely different from the other. It starts out smelling like dark chocolate and mint. It hits me as a peppermint patty. And, yes, it makes me hungry smelling it. I don't know too much of the middle, but the chocolate burns off first, leaving a reminder of one of the Lick Its. From there, it fades to a vanilla and floral scent. Yet another wonderful scent that I will enjoy using until the end. On a side note, I spray about six spritzes into my entire hair. LXIX lasts for a couple of days, while CVII seems to disappear after one day. Of course, it's fresher than the first, so it may need a little more rest for longer time to last.
