This one is such a morpher. it starts of as gingerbread, morps to sweet gum drops, cookies, candied fruits back to gingerbread, back to fruits.... I have the feeling that everytime i smell it its something else. It is a super nice christmas scent. Like other said its really like opening a box of xmas sweets. I would probably go for a bottle if i wouldnt have 1 and a half bottle of the invasion of the flesheating reindeer from uranus, which is my favorite xmas scent. If i have to choose between getting one more backup of reindeer and this one i would go for reindeer, reindeer just has more oomph to it with the slight booze. But I will keep and enjoy my imp of this one. For me this scent stays a bit to close to the skin for my liking. The staying power on my skin is also not the best. As a snake oil fan i like a good throw

I am a big fan of spices and cookies but this one was a fail for me its all spices and burned cookies and makes me sick in my stomache. off to my friend who really loved it

I have the feeling that some scents are not really good for decanting. it has nothing to do with the decanter, the scents seems just not good for it. if you read through some reviews its interesting how people with decants sometimes dislike them while people with bottles rave about them. there seems to be something about it. Egg nog for examble (i mention this alot but this i recent to me). people with imps seems to get a strong plastic note sometimes (me too) while people with bottles get nice nog with booze and spices (and my skin amps spices but in my imp where non existent).

Yes.. it sure can be. It's actually quite common You need to be especially careful with scents that contain certain notes. For example; cocoa tends to sit in the bottom of the bottle - if the decanter doesn't 'blend' the oil in the bottle properly before making up the vials, you will get a decant that has less or more cocoa than what was intended when the mix was made at the Lab. I've noticed some booze notes like rum also don't always distribute themselves very well through an oil, so that could be the problem with your decant of Egg Nog - maybe you got one that came from the top of the bottle rather than the bottom (the rum tends to hang down the bottom of a 5ml). Hellhound on my Trail is well-known for having dark globules in it, like a lava lamp, and as far as I can tell by investigating my bottles.. it's the rum in the globules! There's also the whole issue of batch variances - like the infamous Infernal Lover red musk/no red musk bottles... so that also needs to be considered. I just want to add that what I said above about decants is in no way a criticism of decanters!! Having done many many decants myself, I know how difficult it is to get cocoa and other things out of a bottle and evenly distributed into vials I think imps are generally more susceptible to imbalances in the notes - I guess if you think about it mathematically.. in a 5ml you've got five times as much oil so the chances of all the notes being perfectly mixed is better than in an imp, which holds only 1ml. Oh - and just one final thought.. Snake Oil is a bad one to compare imp vs bottle, particularly if your bottle is 6 months old and your imp is fresh.. the oil in your bottle would have changed through aging Edited to add - there's actually a whole topic here about different smells/colours, same perfume that might give you some extra info! . thank you for directing me to the other post. well then i have hope for my egg nog bottle comming my way because my decants came to late. the booze seems to mainly come from the rum (like the real deal ) and my nog was pretty light and non boozy and spicy. just plastic vanilla. i know snake oil is aging but i was just wondering because i know what my bottle smelled like when i got it fresh and it was not really as incensy as the imp. i sneak of to the other topic to check it

Well this is not really related to a bad choice but does anyone has following experience: When I see reviews I sometimes find it interesting how people with imps seems to to have complete different experiences with the scents than people with bottles. can this be? In my case for examble i was totally suprised when i got my egg nog imp. everyone says spices and booze, my imp had neither. an direct experience i have with snake oil, my imp is much less sweet than the bottle i got half a year earlier (the imp was a free one). I am wondering. i am joining decant circles all the time and i am sometimes wondering if i maybe miss out on a beautiful scent because the decant is not really what you get in the bottle Can that be? Can the scent in the imp and the bottle scent differ quite a bit? who has experience?

I found out that lavender actually does help me relax and so I really wanted to try TKO since I am a horrible insomniac. I am really not the biggest lavender fan. There is just a certain kind of lavender scent I like and also just mixed with vanilla. I am not a foody either so the fact that TKO was supposed to smell like lavender marshmellow scared me. A lovely decanter frimped me with half a decant TKO and I tried it 3 nights in a row. Everytime I used it I was out like a light within half an hour Maybe it is just in my head but if it works who cares I guess my TKO from an aged bottle and it is probably sweeter than fresh from the lab but it smells really lovely of lavender and vanilla cream and when i wake up its all vanilla cream (not so much marshmellow on me actually). Not to foody at all. Like others noted I would actually wear it at daytime but it would probably knock me out There is a bottle in my next order for sure. I really shouldnt like it but I absolutely love it

Egg nog 2011 I waited forever for my decants and because i wanted the blackbear moon i decided to go ahead and order egg nog with it because i smelled last years version and loved it. Now my decant came and i am scared that i ordered a whole bottle In the vial: OK WHO STOLE MY ALCOHOL AND MY NUTMEG? No booze, nothing spicy but at least it smells delicious like cake batter On my skin wet: Still cake batter Drydown: OH CRAP! My little pony fresh out of the box aka plasticdoll aka playdoh! Dry: Stays pretty plasticy. After half an hour completely dry: Finally the spice peeks out a bit. Its not as plasticdolish anymore but also not what i expected. Verdict: My friends egg nog from last year smelled like cookies on me so i hope it will age well and turn into spicy cake batter but for now i am pretty bummed that i went for a bottle. nothing ever went plastic on me. the smell reminds me of my childhood but i dont know if i want to smell like a my little pony But seeing all the good reviews and the other person having the plastic problem having a decant as well makes me wonder if it maybe has to do with the decant not beeing mixed well and the booze and the spices beeing at the bottle bottom. i cant change it anymore that i have the bottle comming my way, so i just hope and see In the bottle update 02/11: Unfortunately the bottle is the same as the decant. this really teached me to wait for my decants before ordering. i will give it some aging time and if it isnt better around next xmas it has to go

I am into bpal since about a year and so i havent got a chance to try the GP perfume oil but i LOVE this bathoil! i am using it as after shower moisturizer and it smells like gingerbread on me. i have a very, VERY sensitive skin and it doesnt irritate my skin at all. This one layers perfectly with my 2 favorite perfumes of all time, Snake oil and The invasion of the flesheating reindeer from uranus. I just have a decant at the moment but i will update it to a full bottle for sure!

Snake Oil is my fav and I was dying to try boomslang.I finally got around to a decant of it and I had to test it twice before I could built and opinion about it. My decant is quite aged. about 5 years old. In the bottle: Spicy Chocolate On me wet: Smells like Velvets middle part on me. Powdery spicy chocolate. On me dry: Quite the same About 1 or 2 hours later: It mellows down to a beautiful dark liquid spicy chocolate. The one you would poor on your desert. The snake oil came finally out to play as well but it is a very silent little snake. maybe because its already old and doesnt has all his teeth anymore. Verdict: Yepp, this and green tree viper are a definate in my cart from the snake pit when the carnival is back in town.I really want to smell and wear both fresh but i also already know they are aging beautifully. I was first dissapointed beeing so simular to velvets middle part. but while velvet dries down to a beautiful spicy powdered real cocoa powder, boomslang is more of a liquid spicy chocolate. I would never purchase simular scents but they are different enough to be both a very certain future bottle purchase. Now I am waiting for the carnival to be back....

Wow this is really hard to pin down. Snake oil with some freshness to it. Snake oil is my absolute favorite perfume but to heavy for the summer. this could be just the way how i could keep my beloved snake oil around in summer. I just got an im of this one and I think its quite aged and so the snake oil tooks over. I am dying to smell that one fresh. Boomslang, Green Tree Viper and Pickled Imp are already definate buys as soon as the carnival is back in town

around site 4 and 5 people say You snap the whip goes great wit Black Lotus or Bordello. Random thing I found out. Bpals Snow White and Lushes Snowcake/Smitten smells very simular to me. On my skin they are even the EXACT match. I grew sick of Snowcake soap last winter but gettingt to know Snow white made me like it again Now my question. anyone knows a bpal scent thats simular to sakura bath ballistic or rubrubrub. my sister is the biggest fan of this scent. Also does someone knows what bpal comes close to the olive branch? Snake oil goes very well with it but its not really close to it

I never actually drank apple cider since i am german and life in japan and in both countries you dont have it. So what i smell is spiced applewine. On my skin it sweetens up and smells quite a bit like harvest moon 2011 just without the smokey note. Fruity spiced alcohol that makes you think of snuggeling up in a blanket with a hot glas of gloegg. Now i like the smokey note in harvest moon a lot so i like harvest moon a bit better than autum cider. Never the less it smells very nice and autumy and i will use up my decant for sure. I am just not going for a bottle because i have a full bottle of harvest Moon 2011 4 out of 5 for those who like to smell like hot alcoholic beverage like I do ;P

Envelop yourself in the soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh. This was a frimpy from the lab with my last order. I had never picked out this scent because while I enjoy eating some good chocolate I dont want to smell of it. I also just revealed amber as my arc enemy since it goes sweaty on my skin. However this is quite a morpher on my skin and I am super impressed! In the bottle: Chocolat incense (if that makes any sense) On my skin wet: uh oh this is sharp and spicy. kind of good but nearly as spicy that it makes me sneeze. On my skin dry: still spicy but the sandalwood comes out to play. uhhh i totally forgot that i liked sandalwood a lot in my childhood especially around this time of the year. but on myself...well I dont know After about 15 min: Spicy sandalwood After about 2 hours: It became soft and powdery cocoa on my skin. kind of opening a new bag of cocoa powder but there is more to it. Its like sophisticated cocoa. Staying power: 7 hours on my skin and still going strong Verdict: I like this far more than I though I would. Its spicy and beautiful but I cant see myself wearing this all the time. Just occasionally since I have to go through a phase of pure spices and wood to get the last beautiful stage. I will cherish my frimpy until its empty and see how it goes from there ;P

HOLY CRAP! I think I will have a blue eye tomorrow because this scent in the bottle just punched me in the face with overwhelming sweetness I was a bit hesitated to try it after this but I anyway did an I am glad I got it now... In the Bottle: Sickenly Sweet Vanilla! Creamy sweet...Sweet...SSSSSSWWWWWWWEEEETTTTT Wet on my skin: Still sweet sugared vanilla but the lavender mellows it down fast Dry on my skin: Sweet and tart vanilla with a grounded underlayering scent which, the more it warms up, you can identify as lavender After about 1 hour: The lavender is only a silent whisper. I mostely get a kind of sophisticated creamy vanilla note which is calming and warm feeling. I get no honey at all which I am happy about because honey can be iffy on me and turn into a sweaty note (also I think it only does it togther with amber) Verdict: Beaver Moon is far not as foody as I feared it would be. I love a good spicy scent and a good vanilla but I hate running around smelling like I just rolled in cakes (not that I wouldnt love to roll in cakes but I have so many cake addicted friends that I am always scared I will get eaten ). I also dont like sugary vanilla, but here the tartness of the cheesecake seems to keep it down. I used to hate lavender but I love a good vanilla lavender combination. In this case I would even wish Beaver Moon had a bit more lavender in it. The sweetness on my skin not to much not to little, just right (and my skin amps sweet notes like no tomorrow). It would be a really nice sleep blend for sure, but it is to lovely to only wear it to bed! It really made me want to try TKO now. Its really sad that you cant get imps of TKO because if it is sweeter than this than I am doomed with migrain However I really love Beaver Moon 2011 and I am glad I got a bottle of it also I was hesitated. Maybe i will even hunt down a back up. But i shall not sniff it in the bottle anymore EDIT: Seems me and Beaver Moon need to spend a bit more time together. It was love at the first skin contact but retrying it today I get a burned cake smell when putting it on before it mellows in its lavender sweetness and the first stage gives me a headache. I still love and keep it because I love it after it calms down but I will not go for a backup for now...

It was 1 of the 3 bottles I ordered unsniffed since I didnt got any decants for the weenies. I knew that to much flowers can become a problem on my skin and give me a headache...even migrain...but I went for it anyway. I have to admit it was for the name ;P The good news is that its not a headache kind of flower nor a grandmum perfume kind of flower. But its very soft and stays so close to the skin. If i would slather it on it would become headachy again. Flowers are just not my kind of scents I shall give up on them. Next year I go for a decant if I want something for the name which has tons of flowers in it Not sure if I swap my bottle or if I keep it. Its beautiful but not me...

I am a bit sad about this one. The vanilla sounded perfect to go with the laves and flowers but all I get is flowers at the moment. No leaves, no vanilla! It is nice flowers but to perfumy for me. I will let it age and hope the vanilla deepens up!

WOW! I did not expected this one! I didnt got any imps and just went for La calavera catrina, Sonnet and vampire bride as bottle. This one is my fave out of these 3. I expected it to be far more leaves and stuff but on my skin its sweet! vanilla with a fresh mint note and a smokey undertone. Sounds weired but I really smells like nothing I ever had. I will put all my weenies away to age since I think they need that to become deeper and richer. They all still feel to "new born" to me, but this one I will aready wear occasionally

Snake Oil is one of my favorites. I is a very sexy sweet scent and so hard to describe. on me its vanillary sweet spices with a bit of smokyness to it. it makes me feel sexy yet warm and comforted. I use it to sleep if i have problems with falling asleep and I also use it if i go somewhere where i wanna feel sexy. it is one of those scents that automatically makes you raise your head and gives you this proud feeling when you wear it. This is one of the few oils that doesnt settle down on my skin. every time my body heats up it gets nearely overwhelmingly strong even if its already on for hours. i dont dare wearing it in the summer because it would probably eat me alive i first got an aged imp (4 years) and then a fresh bottle. love both but aged it gets stronger and spicier so i probably get a backup bottle to let one age really really long! i really love it and layerd with O its a really nice combination.

This reminds me of a haispray my mum used to wear when i was little. that beeing said i hated this hairspray. it was the 80s so my mom used a llooottt and she and the bathroom used to smell like it. Smelling it i imediately started to cough and gag but i anyway gave it a try. wet on the skin: stays hairspray on me. drydown: the haispraynote gets sweeter. after 15 min: it settles down a bit and the hairspray note steps back but is still prominent after 1 hour: I was holding out long enough. the haispraynote (whatever it is) just doesnt fade. it gave me a headache. i will go and take a shower now and throw something on i actually like. Verdict: I hate it as much as i hated my mums 80s hairspray. this one is not inviting or erotic to me in any way. just flowery old lady hairspray. I will let my mum have it if she wants. otherwise off to the swap pile!

I just got an imp of the 2008 samhain. its totally different than expected. Wet in the imp: it is very masculine, sharp and smokey. not really autum to me Wet on my skin: pretty much the same and the sharpeness seems to have some mint mixed in. cold and sharp mint. not the soft and heartbreaking mind lady amalthia has. this mint breaks your bones not your heart. it gives me a slight headache. After a while dried on my skin: its still quite sharp but i get mulled wine and spices now. the kind harvest moon 2011 has but much sharper. the scent scares me a bit to be honest. 2 hours on my skin: CAKE ?! AGAIN?! why does my skin morpes everything into cake or snake oil?! i really need to sort out the notes that do that! 5 hours later: Still vanilla cake with slight spices. Verdict: I am very very happy i didnt bought an unsniffed bottle this year like i wanted to because my money didnt let me splurge and so i just bought a half imp. this scent is just not for me. i quite like the last spiced vanilla cake stage on me (also no idea where that cake comes from)but the 2 hour drydown gave me a migrain. the throw on me is quite strong and someone once decribed a scent (i think it was devils night) as "I am drunk and on fire" and this is samhain for me! and at the end its saying "i am a drunken cake!" I have nothing against these kind of scents. i lovveee my harvest moon 2011 to pieces. but samhain is just a bit to much for me. the scent morphes quite a bit which makes it interesting enough to keep my half imp but not to buy it again as an imp or a fullsize bottle.

i dont know from which year mine is as i got an imp with a tiny bit left when i bought something from a lovely swapper. It starts out on my skin as slight nail polish remover scent strangly but kind of good. not offensive. good nail polish remover then it dries down to.....SNAKE OILS BROTHER why again? O also went soft non spicy snake oil on me. i love snake oil but i wanna know what makes all these blend snake oil like on me because i dont want 20 bottles of snake oil like scents

O is sweet vanilla honey with some sexyness underneath and it makes you wanna say OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH! But I have the feeling O is the little, slightly more silent sister of Snake oil. Snake oil punches you in the face with its strong sexyness and tells everyone around you: she may be beautiful but this girl got some balls so watch out! Snake Oil is the kind of scent that makes you think of grabbing this beautiful man infront of you and dragging him into a dark room to push him agains a wall and have your way with him. O doesnt have all these spices so its like snake oil without teeth. it seduces you but it doesnt bite. O makes you take the hand of that same man infront of you and seducing him slowly and carefully. wispering forbidden things in his ear. That beeing said i prefer my perfume having some balls so I prefer snake oil. but when i want to be a bit more silent and still sexy i like reaching for O. I also like layering O with Snake oil because O tones it down a bit. There will be a bottle in my future. but nor to near future since O is to simular to snake oil and a bit to silend for my taste.

I really really didnt expected to love that one as much as i do. I am a huge cinnamon fan and i love the scent of roses but I also know rose doesnt work with my skin chemistry at all normally. it goes all granny perfume or headachy on me. but blood rose and this one where just to tempting. While blood rose is a georgeous scent but gives me a headache again this one is just totally different from all rose scents i tried before. In the bottle: I can smell the cinnamon clearly in the background but foremost its roses. like spicy roses. very interesting. On my skin wet: yap cinnamon is definately here. my skin is telling me with a slight burn and turning red. I have a very sensitive skin and it reacts to cinnamon quite strongly but i ignore it because i love the scent of cinnamon. and to be honest its a kind of burn i even like! Scentwise the roses are comming out more now but the scent stays strong in the background. On my skin dry: what a beautyful scent. roses and cinnamon are now equally playing with each other. never smelled anything like it before. like a playful and sexy rose Verdict: I am deeply in love with this harlot It is a beautiful scent and by far more playful than expected. When i ordered the imp i never thought about a 5 ml bottle but now its on my list. i have to try it out some more since like i said flower scents tend to give me a headache but this is very light. even my only bpal perfume until now i have to reapply because it fades alot during the day. dorian for examble lasted on me over 24 hours on me. It is a very beautiful spring scent i think.maybe to heavy for the summmer itself but probably good for hot summer nights Edit 12.10. 2011 I am still thinking to get a full bottle and i still love the scent but i have to say i find it a bit annoying that i have to reapply it several times a day. i am always afraid i overdo it. beside this my skin is burning every time i put it on and the burn marks stay nearly longer than the scent. this is the only thing putting me off from actually buying a full bottle.

I have tons of autum and winter scents (but since autum is my favorite season i can never have to much ) so I am searching for a more spring or summer scent. especially summer since the sweeter blends are ok in spring as well. After reading the reviews i thought dorian could be it but my skin decided to do something completely different with it In the bottle: vanillary lemon. i cant smell tea somehow. On me wet: CAKE ?! LEMON CAKE?! where does the cake comes from ?! On my skin dry: Lemon Cake all the way. just cake. no tea. maybe tea cake though After several hours: The first 2 or 3 hours it stays cake and calms down to finally some vanilla tea with something sexy in it. Verdict: I want the last stage all the time because this is gorgeous and sexy but i have to run around smelling like pastry for 2 or 3 hours to get this sexy sweet last tea stage. dont get me wrong the smell is delicious i wanna eat it but i am not sure if i wanna smell like it for some hours. i am scared people start to nibble on me however my skin really suprised me. cake was not what i expected AT ALL. I will test it out some more....
