galahad Report post Posted April 17 In the Bottle: Bright lemon and the sandalwood/vanilla On the Skin: mostly vanilla and sandalwood with a light lemon background, initially. The chrysanthemum adds a musky herbaceousness eventually and lemon gets stronger, more zest than juice at this point. This veers into a fine citrus/floral soap at times but it's the vanilla sandalwood that brings it back each time. Probably not a fave but I'll need to do a full wear. doomsday_disco Report post Posted April 21 Ehon Takara Gura is mostly about the chrysanthemum on me, backed by the vanilla sandalwood. I wouldn't really describe this as a lemon scent, but the lemon is there to lift the scent a little. As the scent sits on the skin, the vanilla in the vanilla sandalwood really blooms (there's more vanilla than sandalwood on me, and the sandalwood isn't super dry). Combined with the chrystanthemum, it makes for a really pretty scent. I'll need to give this one a full-day slather to see if I need a bottle, but I'm definitely keeping my decant! If you're on the hunt for chrysanthemum, you should give this one a try!
Beatrice33 Report post Posted Tuesday at 09:20 AM Ooh, I love this. I'm a vanilla and sandalwood fiend, so of course I had high hopes for this one, and they were rewarded. I'm not sure I can describe this very well. It's vanilla and sandalwood, but not too sweet, and rounded out and deepened a bit by what I guess must be the chrysanthemum. I don't get lemon per se, but there is a little brightness it seems to be adding. Overall, it's soft and a little like a luxurious lotion, in the best way. I think it could be worn in any season and on almost any occasion.
VioletChaos Report post Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Full disclosure: I got this only for the chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemum Moon is a long-time favorite, so let's see how it all pans out here! In the bottle, I get that nice bright lemon peel straight away! That's the majority of it. Bringing up the real are little tendrils of the vanilla, which is softening the lemon to give it a creamy hint at the end. Wet on skin and warming up, the scent starts to really bloom, and that dear chrysanthemum is now in play- hooray! In fact, all the guests have arrived at the party, but I'd say the balance has definitely shifted and it's the chrysanthemum that is front and center now. Dry down- Wow, this is turned out to be incredibly well-balanced. I can detect all four of the elements here, and they sort of tumble over each other, so first I'll snag a little of that lemon peel, and then the sandalwood comes in and then dips out and the 'mum takes the spot, etc etc etc. It's don't think I've got another scent like it, and that's incredibly exciting to me! In all, a low-medium throw, and a sultry, lightly spicy warm-weather scent. Dead sexy- I will be wearing this for many date nights in the months to come
