splendidissima Report post Posted December 30, 2025 This is primarily about the angel food cake on me: lightly sweet, airy, white cake! There's a little buttercream that's adding some sweetness and creaminess, and just a whisper of slightly artificial strawberry - not artificial in a bad way, more like, well, exactly when you have a scented lip gloss or chapstick, and it's got that hint of wax/solidity to it. But, again, that part's very light; on me it really is mostly light white cake and some buttercream. Which is actually very nice, if you want an uncomplicated fluffy white cake scent! This seems like it'll be good for layering with other scents, too.
KarenWalker Report post Posted January 10 So far I'm only getting a very mild kind of nutty buttercream. I love the scent of angel food cake but I'm sadly missing that entirely. There's a vague sheen in there that's got to be the lipgloss but this is so far a rare puzzling one on me- pleasant but entirely missing the promised notes. Maybe it needs more time to morph. icecreamcone Report post Posted April 3 Bottle sniff was promising both times I tested this, but on skin it’s so light and barely-there. I let it rest for a few months hoping it would get stronger but the sugar still disappeared within minutes and I’m left with, what is that? Unscented lipgloss or wax/shea butter? Could be a skin chemistry thing so it might be worth a try if you love gourmands!
dolcecara Report post Posted Monday at 05:31 PM Most cake scents don't agree with me despite my loving the idea of them - but the same cannot be said for Let Them Eat Cake. it smells so much more to me like the cake batter (raw eggs & all!) than it does a baked cake. And it takes me back to a specific childhood memory: baking a confetti sprinkle cake with my mom for one of my dolls because it "was her birthday" - The finished cake went uneaten but I'd loved licking the spoon from the mixing bowl. It wears light but gourmands can feel a bit heavy & overbearing sometimes, so I'm happy to have it close to the skin. I didn't think I'd love this as much as I do.
