BPAL Madness!

Unfortunately I did not get much Candied Pomegranate. The soapy aspect of snake oil is strong. It is only slightly sweetened by the pomegranate which I cannot detect

Sniffing my decant of this, I get the rich Snake Oil we all know and there is a hint of a sweet fruit. I think this smells amazing. On my skin,  I get S.O and the pomegranate! This is a strong one and I am loving it! I love almost anything with S.O. and this doesn't disappoint. Stays the same as it dries. I might have to get a bottle of this!

To disclaim, I have yet to dislike SO + fruit anything so I'm definitely biased. In this case, I think the 'candied' aspect of the pomegranate is making it lean into sugar plum territory. This is delicious, as I also love Sugar Plum Snake Oil and only have a half-bottle left from last year. If you're looking for the really rich pomegranate that you get with, say, Pomegranate Grove: Morocco then I wouldn't look here personally. This is a much lighter, hard candy or sugary fruit juice pomegranate, though it is still identifiable as its own fruit. I sniffed SPSO and SO&CP together, to compare, but it took them being next to each other to really feel the distinction.

Personally, I love it and I'm glad I got a half-bottle of Snake Oil & Candied Pomegranate during decants. I don't think I'll upsize, but I'm glad I have 3ml to work through.

This goes on with the dusty patch of the Snake Oil being the most prominent aspect of the scent on me. The pomegranate note is present, but it is rather understated. Over time, the Snake Oil spices join with the patch, so that it's mostly Snake Oil slinking through that little bit of candied pomegranate, which makes it seem like a slightly darker Snake Oil blend. I can't compare it to any other pomegranate GC variants as I haven't tried any of the others, but there's definitely way less pom here than other pomegranate grove scents I've tried. I no longer have any around (since I swapped my bottle away many years ago), but I would probably put this in the same family as Snake Charmer, due to them both containing spices and dark fruits, but this is not as complex, not as strong or as spiced, and the candied pom is way more subtle than Snake Charmer's plum.

I think I'll hang onto my decant of this to see how it ages, but I have fortunately been spared from needing a bottle of this (which is good, because this Yule update has slain me). Snakes in the Coffee Beans is the Snake Oil variant of win from this year's Yule update.

I get a lot of candied pomegranate with Snake Oil's patchouli and spiciness. The pomegranate is exactly the same as in An Intriguing Observation (Shungas 2025), rich and juicy. Like said above, this reminds me of Sugar Plum Snake Oil but SPSO is dustier on my skin and SOaCP is more fruity and juicy.

I'm happy I have full bottle because I am in love.
