BPAL Madness!

A Lupercalia Box of Chocolates scent that was supposed to go live this year but we were short on components. A chocolate truffle filled with wild plum, amaretto, burgundy wine, and black currant.

I'm going to preface this, that I am a damned Bordello wh*re. It was one of my first purchases from the lab in like 2008? It's been my top scent that whole time, I originally got 5 bottles, I still have 2 of the precious in my collection (I started to hoard it when I got discontinued). When I die, I want them mixed with my ashes so I smell fabulous in the afterlife. So when I saw this on the site, I purchased it blind bottle in under 2 minutes. 😆

But on to my review.

In the bottle- this is a milk chocolate, with a definite wine and amaretto note mixed in. Creamy, rich, smells like a fancy dessert.

In my skin, it balances out. The plum comes out, not the same plum as the OG, but recognizable. The amaretto, wine and chocolate meld together with the plum, leaving a sweet, almost hubba bubba gum feel to it. Not a dupe with chocolate added, it's it's own scent.

While it's not the chocolate soaked reincarnation of my beloved, it's definitely one to scratch that itch with the wine/amaretto combo. Sexy in a gourmet way, I'm glad I did my impulse purchase. If your a lover of Bordello, I think you'll love this one too.

Edited to add, took a bath shortly after this review, and I still smell it afterwards. Great staying power!

Second edit- I pulled on the jacket I was wearing when testing last night, and there it is, a near copy of my beloved. That's my beautiful baby. The chocolate has receded, and the lusty Bordello has come forward in it's sexy fashion. Might be the chocolate making it the dessert feel.

Multiple bottles will be needed on the basis of the long dry down.
