bheansidhe Report post Posted September 9 Lots of dried mango and spicy clove to start -- at this stage it reminds me of Vero Mango lollipops or mango chamoyada candy sticks. The rest of the blend is quite subtle, with a touch of floaty resins, but no big stompy notes. Fades to a gentle glow of mango and a dark resiny note. wilhelmscream Report post Posted October 2 Yowza! Spicy mango heaven! I'm gonna sit and wait a moment while all that settles down before I check in on that gorgeous amber note Beth uses for the Blow Mold fragrances. (Five Minutes Later...) Spice settles a bit. Still mango city. It sort of reminds me of a candy I used to eat as a child but I can't think of what. (Five More Minutes Later...) This might just be it. Maybe the amber is coming through more than I detect because that mango is potent... Oh. There's the amber! Okay, I get it now. A fun, rambunctious, fruity pop with a bit of spice. sudenmorsian Report post Posted November 30 I'm surprised this kitty isn't getting more attention yet! This is lovely simple fruit scent with zingy biting spice, spicy mango heaven as mentioned above. I agree the mango is more like dried or candied mango, but it's lovely fruit note here. At first there's certain spiciness that reminds me of ginger and the clove isn't too much recognizable, but whatever the biting tang is it softens remarkably as the perfume dries. Without the clove this would be nice scent for spring and summer, but clove makes this perfect for colder months too. I get amber only after couple of hours and the scent has mellowed to a beautiful, resiny cloud.
OxfordComma Report post Posted December 1 This was one of my Unexpected Weenie Wins™! It does indeed smell just like dried mango imo, a big boop of tropical fruitiness out of gate. The clove is the cozy, wafting spicy kind, not too aggressive, just enough to warm the scent up and make it interesting. I agree with the above comment about the clove turning it from an ostensibly summer scent into an unexpected cold weather scent as well. I wasnt expecting to love it, but I've liked several of the other Blow Molds so I figured what the heck. Big "Christmas in the Tropics" vibes.
doomsday_disco Report post Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Vintage Kitty Blow Molds is primarily a mango scent on me, although it reminds me of something more like a mango curd than a mango sorbet. The clove in this is pretty tame on me, which is weird since I feel like I tend to amp that note (but it would be fine if I had, as I love the note). So it's mostly a tangy mango scent on me, with a dash of clove, until the end of the day, when it's morphed to the plastic-y bright amber that's the blow mold part of the scent, made a little fruity by what remains of the mango. I think I'm going to keep the decant, as I think this would be fun to wear while it's still too hot to wear my autumnal scents, but everyone's stalking Weenies. I'll have to retest it to see if I need more of it before it goes away.
