doomsday_disco Report post Posted August 21 Sweet-tempered and kind, this emotionally generous dragon has a hoard made not of gold, but of handwritten letters, warm socks, library check out cards, and old mixtapes. Famed throughout the realms for offering a listening ear and a warm hug in lieu of unsolicited advice, it roosts in sun-warmed meadows, secondhand bookstores, and antique shops, and its scales glow softly in shades of sun tea, wildflower honey, and sweet apricot. doomsday_disco Report post Posted September 9 (edited) I mostly bought this for the sun tea note, but I don't mind the other notes. This is mostly a dry black tea scent on me. I am not getting much sweetness from the honey and apricot, which is weird since wildflower honey tends to be a pretty strong note, typically. I don't dislike it, but I also don't love it -- I was expecting this to be a lot sweeter with the fruit and honey notes, and I thought that the sun tea itself would be like a sweet tea note (because my mother would make sun tea with lots of those Red Rose tea bags that came with a figurine when I was a kid and then put a fuckton of sugar in the tea). So I think in this case, my memory of that sun tea influenced my expectations for this scent. I'm going to set this aside for a few weeks and see how this develops after more rest (maybe there will be more fruit and honey?), but at the moment, but I can't see myself reaching for this over other tea scents in my collection. DigitalCoyote Report post Posted September 18 Wet: juicy, hypersweet apricot. You just cut the fruit and rivulets of juice pour out. Semidry: Tea tames the apricot a tiny bit. This is still apricot-forward on both wrists. It's more in your face than the apricot in Peach Vulva. Definitely drinkable summertime. Dry: The apricot stands alone. I think this is a wonderful waning summertime in to fall blend.
indigokid Report post Posted October 18 This is very bright and lemony on me in the opening. It stays that way for awhile, about an hour or so. Over time the the tea starts to peek through. Now that its fully dry, it is gorgeous! I can really smell the wildflower honey mingling with the tea. This just makes me feel like I'm enjoying a lovely sunny autumn day! Myrrha Report post Posted October 23 This is one of my favorite recent BPALs. It smells fresh, a little bit sweet, and has a bright, uplifting tone. Tea, delicate sweet honey, some lemon that mostly recedes as it dries. On my skin the apricot is underneath everything giving a roundness and sweetness but not really standing out. Mountaingrrl00 Report post Posted October 24 My old girlfriend was partial to apricot-infused black tea with honey, and we'd drink it in a cafe on a street with secondhand bookstores and antique stores on sunny autumn days -- so basically this is bottled nostalgia for me. There's kind of a spicy tone to it at first, which I attribute to trying to recreate the scent of sun. There might be a little citrusy frankincense in there. I'm not getting heliotrope or amber, which I think Beth often uses in "sun" blends. I think the wildflower honey that is giving some of the spice, like some of the flowers might have a spicy perfume like carnation. The tea is dry but not astringent, quietly grounding the sweet apricot and honey. It's more cozy warmth than outright gourmand. It stays close to the skin and retains the unique apricot feel as it dries and fades.
