bheansidhe Report post Posted September 2 Tested in the vendor hall, so I may have missed some nuances, but here's my fast impression: blackened plum curtains shielding the hidden doorway to an occult headshop. Only a hint of incense trickles out behind the clove, black fruits, and red musk. I don't get oud except for a hint of bitterness sharpening the fruits. AbbyNormal Report post Posted September 24 When first applied it’s candy sweet and not at all what I expected. But give it a few minutes and it settles down into something darker and richer. The closest I can come to describing it would be if Mme. Moriarty and Carved Wooden Cultist Lair had a baby. I get the red fruit, musk and patch from Mme., and the dark, almost scorched feel of Cultist Lair, even though there’s no wood or scorching listed. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
VioletChaos Report post Posted 11 hours ago I tried several Dragons this year that weren't *quite* my thing. But Caput? I'm all in! In the bottle I get something that is fruity and that smells like light black cherries- it's clearly a mix of the fig and black currant. It stays that way for a while but once it's fully dry it becomes a *stellar* melange of spicy clove and rich resins (the patch and red musk, I presume). While I don't get the Mme Moriarty feels that the previous poster got (Moriarty is one of my top-5 ride or die scents, so I have my own associations with her) I can see how there's a similar vibe in terms of being a dark, wintery kind of scent. Clove can amp on me, but luckily it's letting other notes shine through, even as it adds a heavy spice to the proceedings. Given the density of the notes, I anticipate that this is only going to get better with age, and I'm VERY glad I have a whole bottle to add to my personal dragon hoard Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
