For those of you who have tried (as well as covet & cherish) Very Pink Suprise Cake, you should get this one too so you can use it as an alternate. 

 

Wet Red Velvet cupcake mix with light strawberry buttercream frosting on the drydown. Reminds me how the Dolly Parton strawberry cake mix smells and I’m a fan!

I really like this. It's mostly a very realistic strawberry buttercream to my nose, but I can also smell the slightly chocolatey red velvet cake beneath it as it wears. It's sweet and straightforward and layers well with other scents (especially florals or beeswax for a fancy birthday cake scent).

The strawberry buttercream is the star of the show throughout wear, but I do smell the cake note along with it, which is most noticeable during the wet phase of the scent and is very on-point -- I can envision the texture of the cake crumb when smelling it! Unfortunately, the strawberry buttercream goes powdery on me after a while (boo) and ends up being all I can smell by the end of the day, so this isn't a keeper for me (I had better luck with Strawberry Buttercream Suf), but if you're looking for a cake scent where you can smell the cake along with the buttercream, I do recommend giving this one a try!
