These are some fancy twigs. Wet the twigs read as almost lacquered, sharp ? Reminds me a lot of the wood from little wooden doll GC. The vanilla husk comes out more as it dries down into something prettier and more what I was hoping for. I’m going to let this one rest. I think it has potential

I ordered this for the vanilla husk of course since I continually live in regret of losing my only bottle of the trio vanilla husk, nutmeg and corn husk in a move. This duet smells nothing like the vanilla husk I remember and to be honest I don’t really smell any kind of vanilla at all. That being said it’s still very sweet. The twigs note must just be going so hard that it’s completely dwarfing the vanilla. If you tried the fir needle and smoke from a few yules past (one of my favorites) it’s extremely similar. I would say it’s only distinguishable by the sweetness it’s just the sweetest fir needles to ever exist.

This surprised me! I expected the twigs to be dry and dusty, but they're still a bit green. There is a light humidity under the surface as a result. The vanilla comes off plastic-y, almost like the head of a doll, with a drop maybe of cinnamon in the background. Although this is just two notes, it feels more complex. I agree with others who think this will get even more interesting as it ages.

In the bottle, I smell a light vanilla husk with a bright green scent like a freshly snapped twig. Unfortunately my skin turns that note into lemon pledge. I'll try it again once it ages a bit and see if it smooths out.

I'm really glad that I did not blind bottle this one. The twigs are indeed somewhat fresh and green, yet somehow sharp (my first instinct was oak, but then I started thinking about other sharp woods like mahogany and teak, and I didn't deatmatch it with any scents containing those notes since I had other scents on my arm already, so I can't say it's oak for sure). I don't get how they are both green but also smell lacquered, as lithie mentioned. Worst of all, the twigs are somewhat rubbery on me and smell awful. I thought I got a hint of root beer-esque French vanilla from this, but that was very fleeting, and the vanilla note that ends up draping itself over the twigs is a sheer, skin musk-y sort of vanilla. It's nothing like the vanilla husk in Vanilla Husk, Nutmeg, and Hay Absolute.

 

This just did not work for me.
