Kit Sahari, Lady of the Fennec Fox skull – deserted wanderer, a lone survivor, quick footed and silent, warm blood, bones and fur, sharpening blades by the fire.

Blood, bones, and fur: russet musk, desert sand, Daemonorops cinnabar, tonka bean, vetiver, and clove bud.

In the bottle, the cinnamon and clove make themselves known (as they do) but without knocking you over. I get a decent whiff of furry musk and a hint of tonka.

On skin, the same notes dominate, but about 30 minutes in the musk melts into the vetiver, starting to get a lot more feral while the sandy desert note also emerges. Everything has the undertone of being sunbaked, and I'm reminded of those big bison-like pack animals in Stargate that were always romping around.

My skin chemistry does not do this blend justice as it insists on amping the cinnamon and clove, but fortunately I like these notes so it is still very wearable. Worth noting too that I did not experience any skin sensitivity wearing this, which was nice! Definitely a contender for a backup bottle.

Warm clay vessels baking in the sun, not exceedingly spicy, but dry, sand-kissed and snuggly. The clove is not medicinal or too sharp, it floats around on the desert breeze. A subtle, foxy skin-scent for those who wish Morocco/Inez had a little more oomph! 🦊 Longevity 6+ hrs

Dry, baked desert spices. The vetiver warms up on the skin and starts lurking in the periphery. Clove and I don't often get along but it really works here. No medicinal edge, and it doesn't trample everything else into submission. The musk isn't feral or loud, just kinda there. Vibing. I like this a lot more than expected! Good throw and longevity as well.

I was leery of this one since my skin amps clove like crazy, but the opening is just beautiful!

Wet, I get a smooth musk with dragonsblood and a subtle smoke-kissed vetiver.

Drying, it takes on a bright, dry, golden feel and the desert sand becomes a major player in the scent profile. Tonka bean is in the background but adding a nice sweetness.

Dry, the clove pops up and demands an audience, but it actually seems to behave alongside the other notes and doesn't ruin this lovely desert fox for me, just adds some dry spice.

This scent is warm and slightly smoky and definitely evocative of adventures in the desert with a mystical animal companion.
