    Earth Rat

What a happy, bright scent! When first tested it I didn't think it was going to work when I smelled something that reminded me of gasoline, but that faded almost immediately. When it dries it's a soft, gorgeous melon, yes slightly powdery, but a good powdery. If this is what Fee smells like I can see why it's so sought after and hard to find. This will be a perfect scent for hot summer days. It makes me think of picnics and family, but it's also a sofisticated scent that could be worn to work. Very pleasant and pretty! Edit: I wore this to work today (3/10) and by mid-morning I kept smelling something really good. By the end of the day I could still smell it, but it's like the best melon, lemon candy, and it smells like a scent I could wear every day and not get tired of. So I got a few people to sniff my wrist (one tried it). Everyone liked it. Better get some more to hoard before it goes away.

    Sugar Moon 2008

When I first put this on I get celery and sugar. After about ten minutes the strawberry comes out, and something is reminding me of Red Lantern, almost a caramel, but not quite. A half hour or so after drying it's a very pretty, springy strawberry, which makes me very happy because I haven't gotten along with many of the moons I've tried. This is going to be a great spring and summer scent. Definitely a keeper!

    Snow Angel

Thanks to the lovely Peaches, I have a partial bottle of Snow Angel. Love to you Peaches, and love to this beautiful scent. It's pretty. It's a lot like Snow Bunny, but lighter and sweeter. Not much more to say except I would buy tons of this if it ever comes back.

    I Married a Vampire from Planet X

A blend of blood-soaked daemonorops, black amber, dark musk, glistening leather, caraway, smoky myrrh, cinnamon, and clove that is glowing with a luminescent, space-addled coating of clary sage, lemon balm, white grapefruit rind, mandarin, green melon, and white musk. This is one truly complex scent! It's darn good, but hard to review. At times I smell something similar to Crowley, and then I smell The Caterpillar. It could be considered masculine and has that kind of feel, but it works just as well as a feminine scent. I can smell leather, musk, and something bright, sweet, and warm. I think it would be a great scent for any season, and would be light enough for Summer. My husband doesn't know it yet, but he's going to be trying it this weekend. I like this scent a lot.

    Smut

Last night I got in bed wearing Smut '06, and my husband, who I thought was sleeping, asked what I was wearing. I said "SMUT" , and he said "slut?". So, I corrected him. Then I told him it was a decant I got a while ago, and he asked if I could get more of it because he really likes it and hopes I can still get some. I guess I'll be adding a few bottles of Smut to my next order! It smells good and sexy on me and I hope the new one smells this good, if not I'm sure some aging will work. Edited to review Smut 2008: This is even better than my decant of '06. It's sweeter, muskier, and longer lasting. I'm so happy that I ordered two bottle right away, and may need a few more. I can honestly say that this will get as much love and attention as my first love, Snow White.

    Luperci

Luperci is so different than I thought it would be based on some of the reviews. This is the one I was worried about when I placed my order, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's like a musky mint, and reminds of of why I used to love scents like Chanel 19. Not that it smells like it, but it's just the mood of it. It's a gorgeous scent and not masculine at all on me. It's actually quite feminine. No dirty hippy, or even too strong patchouli. It's clean and just plain sexy. I can't wait to see how good it is when it's aged.

    Love's Philosophy

Love's Philosophy is everything I was hoping it would be. When I first tested it, I smelled a little of the wintergreen everyone's been talking about, but that left almost immediately. I must really amp vanilla because the throw is strong. In my opinion this is better than Underpants, and definitely better than Black Lace. I wish my husband was here to smell it, instead of working second shift on Valentines Day. He likes vanilla anything, so I'm sure he's going to love it. I think this would layer nicely with other scents, and I can imagine it with a little aged Snake Oil or Smut. Very yummy! Edit: after wearing this for over an hour it settles down a lot and I smell more of the saffron. This is more Underpants-like, but better. I had to take the out. Sweety did not like this at all, and said he doesn't smell vanilla. He made a nasty face and said he didn't like it. Guess I'm doomed to wearing only a few scents that he likes, but that won't stop me from trying them.

    Port Royal

This was a lab frimp that I would never have tried otherwise, so thank you lab! I can smell everything that I'm supposed to smell in Port Royal. First I smell wood and salty air, then a little while after it dries, the prostitute's perfume is evident and I feel like I'm right there on the ship. This is the first time where a perfume actually made the story come alive. It's really pretty, but wild to have that kind of experience from a perfume.

    Black Lace

Black Lace is aging nicely. I have to say that it reminds me a lot of MB Underpants. I had Underpants on the top of my hand and Black Lace on my wrist and they smell very similar. I'm not sure which note it is that's similar, but it's a good thing since I have a bottle of BL and only a sniffy of Underpants. This one is definitely a keeper, and I suspect it's only going to get better as it ages. Now why do I have to like the ones that are so hard to get more of?

    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

My husband has been slathering himself with Western Diamondback lately. He loves it and asked me to show him where to find it on the website so he can order another bottle. I like it on him too, but would like him to try other scents, so I'll be paying attention to the recommendations you get.

    La Befana

I must be smelling Kool-aid too because La Befana smells a lot like if you layered MB:Bloody Mary with a small amount of Red Lantern. When it dries though, it's a very pretty, sweet, carmelly scent. I agree with other reviews that it lasts long. I kind of wish I could smell some violet, but maybe some aging will bring some of that. It's actually very nice.

    Midway

Oh my gosh! Midway (resurrected) is so good! When it's wet it's coconut and buttery, and I can smell the funnel cake, but dry is so yummy! It's like sticking your face in a bag of cotton candy. For me that's as good as it gets since I love cotton candy. But there's more. If I close my eyes and sniff my wrist, which I don't seem to be able to stop doing, it's just like being at a fair, standing near the food stands inhaling all the good smells. I'll be needing a few more bottles of this one. It's just that great!

    Snow White

The only thing I can add that hasn't already been said about Snow White is that the 2007 version, in my opinion, is even better than 2004. I haven't tried '05, so I don't know how different that one is. I knew I was going to need two or three bottles of this. It's in the running for the top two!

    El Dia de los Reyes

Oh wow. This is so good. It smells good enough to drink, but wearing it is almost as yummy. It's warm and chocolately with a little bit of coffee and spice. It's sweet, like fresh baked chocolate cake, the kind you make with coffee so it stays moist. I bet this is going to get even better with age. One bottle just won't be enough.

    Archangel Winter

Now this is pretty! It's what I wanted Snow Bunny to smell like. It's a softer coldness, nothing sharp. The drydown is everything I expected from it. I can smell flowers and snow, but it's so well-blended that there is no separation of the two. This one is a keeper! Another winner from Beth and the lab.

    The Shivering Boy

Shivering Boy is pretty, but not until it's been on for over an hour. The first hour it was cold, sharp, and almost stung to smell it. It's reminding me a lot of Snow Bunny with the cold, sharp smell over soft scented fruit. I may have to test again after it settles from it's trip here, but it might have to find another, more appreciative home.

    Egg Nog

Egg Nogg 2007: This is so good. I get a bit of play doh in the beginning, which I don't mind. When dry, it's soft, vanilla custard, with a bit of rum. I love it and might need a second bottle. I'm happy that I don't smell raw eggs in this, since I don't like eggs and haven't eaten one in years. This was a real surprise love!

    Monster Bait: Underbed

I got this imp a while ago and tried it, but wasn't that impressed. A few days ago I tried it again and love it. It's like a warm delicious cookie when it's wet. When it dries it's just sooooooo good! It's warm, sweet and kind of musky. I could eat my arms when I have this on! Now I just need to find a bottle of it.

    Dorian

I tried Dorian for the first time yesterday. I got a bottle of it un-sniffed and it is positviely love at first sniff. It's like the best parts of Antique Lace and Embalming Fluid, but even better. After drydown all I smell is a soft musk that is so gorgeous. This is going to be a wear anywhere scent for sure! Triple love and already in the top five!

    Pumpkin III (2007)

Positively edible! This is better than pumpkin pie. Sweeter than chocolate. And smells yummy! It's warm and cozy. Now I can't wait for the cold weather to curl up with this and a hot cocoa. August 2009: I had to get this out and try it while waiting for my Weenie '09 order and it has aged so well!

    Libra 2007

I also amp rose way too much and when wet Libra smells very similar to Alice on me. It's a prettier, creamier Alice, and I am getting a bit of cherry in the wet stage. I'm a Libra and I think this is one scent that's going to be more loved as I wear it. As it's drying the notes are blending together, and exactly like a Libra needs, balancing. This could be love. I'm happy to have found a rose blend that works. It has a lot of throw and is also getting creamier as it's drying. I'll update in a few hours if there are any changes, but definitely descriptive of a Libra.

    Monster Bait: Bloody Mary

Thanks to Filigree Shadow I have a full bottle of MB-Bloody Mary. I like it a lot. It goes on strong and is almost too much when wet. After a half hour it calms down to a sweet, sugary cherry scent that smells really good. If I put it on before bed it smells like cotton candy in the morning, and I just love cotton candy!

    Fairy Market

Otherworldy golden incense, blooming wind-flowers, everlasting lavender, bluebell, a faint whiff of exotic sugared candies, and fae mist upon wet green grass. After drydown and a few hours later, does anyone else get similarities to Mme Moriarty with Fariy Market? Maybe it's just my chemistry.

    Tamamo-no-Mae

I agree with the peachy note in Tamamo No Mae. It must be chemistry, but my husband said he likes it a lot. Sometimes it takes me a few tries to love a new scent and this might be one of them. It sure is keeping me sniffing my wrist for the last few hours. I might have to update in a few days. Liber Amoris said:

    Blue Moon 2007

I expected Blue Moon to be good, but this is amazingly beautiful! I don't normally get along that well with florals, but it's a pretty and complex scent. After a half hour it hasn't changed too much or faded. Poor Snow White and Snake Oil will have to move down from their thrones and make room for their new sister, Blue Moon. My only regret is that I only ordered one.
