  1. 51 and Strawberry Moon both sound amazing. I may have to track Strawberry Moon down. Do all years basically smell similar?
  2. After reading the notes and thinking of Moon Sparkle, I think Titania and 'Tis the Voice of the Lobster are going to be the closest. Thanks again for the recommendations!
  3. I've searched quite a bit and while I've seen Escada mentioned a few times, I've not seen this one mentioned. Up until I ran out about a year ago I hoarded this perfume and even bought sample vials off eBay for way too much money. I never fail to get complimented and I always feel pretty and fresh when I wear it. It's a very youthful scent (maybe even too much so for my being 25 now). The closest thing I've found that reminds me of it is ZOMG Smells Pink Seven which I just recently got and love. Does BPAL have anything that could work? The notes in Moon Sparkle I could only find on Fragrantica listed as the follwing: It opens with notes of strawberry, black currant, citruses and red fruits. Middle notes reveal sweet pea, freesia, jasmine and rose, and this fragrant floral bouquet is followed by raspberry, musk, sandalwood and amber in the base. On me it's a very, very fruity floral. It's bright, but not too sharp and the floral that is present is subtle enough I can't really pick out a specific flower. Any advice? Again, I'm sorry if this has been discussed, but I think I searched pretty well. Thanks!

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

    I don't have a top 5 yet but I've learned I love these: Alice Kitsune-Tsuki Suggestions?

    Kitsune-Tsuki

I've never tried a scent with plum before so I probably don't have the best experience to talk about the notes in this, but I'll try! In the imp: A very clean and sweet smell. Like a sweet light floral. I'm sadly not picking up any jasmine yet. Wet: Sugary light floral, with a slight hint of jasmine. The daffodil is really coming through. Drydown: Almost all the jasmine is gone and a sweet daffodil remains. Nice, but I want more jasmine! 3 hours later: Very light sweet plum. Still not smelling jasmine or orchid. On the plus side, my fiancé who hates most perfume said I smelled great!

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

This might be fun so I'll give it a go. I'm short and have dark blonde hair and eyes of a really indistinguishable color. My license says green, but others think gray or blue. I love to learn all about the intricacies of language. I did a double major in Spanish and International Studies with a lot of classes concentrated on linguistics. I'm really a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl who usually just wears concealer, mascara and a little lipstick. I try to dress up and be ultra feminine sometimes, but usually am minimalist. I'm shy at first and have moderate social anxiety, but really enjoy one on one conversation.

    Death Adder

In the bottle: Sweet, sugary coconut with a thick layer of earthy vetiver. It smells exactly like I wanted it to - very similar to LUSH Trichomania shampoo. Gorgeous. Wet: Pure vetiver. I don't smell any vanilla or spice from the Snake Oil at all sadly. The vetiver smell is still nice though as it's a favorite note of mine. Dry: Gasoline. I don't know how this happened, but something with my skin chemistry made this interact oddly and turn to a gas smell instead of earthy and sweet. I gave it a couple tries on different days and it sadly made no difference. I'm sadly re-homing this oil. I really wanted this to work!

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Lol, that actually sounds like my hair! Anyway, for some reason I immediately thought of Tristran. But then again, it could be because he is described as brown with more brown in the book. Also, Haunted would be pretty, I think. It has that sweet dusty kind of feeling I get from the color "bronde" as well. Glad to have a hair twin! In actually reading Stardust right now for the first time, so I'll let you know if I agree when I get a little further in. I'm loving it so far.

    Alice

In the bottle: Oddly medicinal and sharp. I can detect something floral, but it's not distinct. Not liking where this is headed. Wet on skin: A very distinct rose, still slightly medicinal, with something sweet in the background. Drydown: A nice, slightly sweet and very spicy carnation. I've never worn anything like this before, but I really love it. I just wish the bergamot would have made an appearance at some point. 4.5/5

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

I'm in blonde-brunette limbo! My hair is what the fashion world stupidly refers to as "bronde". In hair color, I'm a Level 6. I'd love to hear thoughts on this color!

    Sin

In the bottle: Straight incense and patchouli. Like a burning incense stick or what I imagine a D&D reunion or wizard shop would smell like. I can't comment on how it is wet or dry since I refuse to walk around smelling like a wizard store. I'm sad since the description sounded sexy, but this is far, far from sexy.
  12. Anathema

    Bathsheba

In the bottle: Old lady perfume, straight up. Wet: Very floral with something sweet underneath, which I'm guessing is the plum note. Dry: Floral with a backdrop of. . . incense. The dreaded evil incense. Verdict: While this might work on some people, I'm currently smelling like a combination of a head shop and a 75-year-old lady. Not too sexy if you ask me. Update: After showering it smelled nice, but I don't want to have to wash my perfume off after putting it on to smell bearable.
  13. Is there anything similar to Creme Anglaise? I would throw myself a party if there were.

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I know this thread is kind of old, but I figured I would bump it because I'm really interested in what people will say. I love these kinds of things! The only bad thing about this is my personality tends to be really multi-faceted and I'm kind of hard to pin down. I wish I were more pulled together, but I'm not. Anyway, on to the description of me: I'm 22 and recently graduated with a degree in Spanish and International Relations. However, I plan to go to grad school for Anthropology. I like cooking, reading classic fiction, knitting, shopping and meeting new people. I'm very shy when people first meet me, but open up quickly if you seem kind. I love fall weather, rolling in leaves, good cups of coffee, bonfires, Christmas cookies, fireplaces, warm blankets, the smell of my parents' home, big cities where I can be anonymous, cotton candy, tea, chocolate, my hometown and pumpkins. I dislike hot weather, barbecues, shorts, bugs, overly sunny days, sexist humor, crowded malls, the color yellow, bright eyeshadow. I'm not sure if this is enough to go on. I'm always willing to add more!
